• Incorrect russian code page in messages in iAS 9i and Oracle8i R3

The Oracle iAS 9i and Oracle 8i Release 3 for Windows NT has strange code page for this platform: ISO-8859-5 (UNIX Russian), but must be CP-1251 (Windows Russian). I can't install iAS on Windows platform, because messages in installer not correspond platform code page and unreadable :(
May be you know any patches for correct this problem?

Hello again Jan,
I think this might help...
From Note 187898.1 (http://meatlink.oracle.com) ->
"When you specify the preference PARSER=YES to enable
PL/SQL definitions to be parsed during server generation,
missing BEGIN and END statements will be added at the beginning and the end of a PL/SQL block, missing DECLARE statements added for triggers, etc.
When the preference PARSER is set to Yes, generation of the larger packages takes a lot of time - this might use up your CPU and virtual memory (Bug 1569508 fixed in 6.5.84 ) and ALSO will be unable to add begin/end
correctly if there are any syntax errors in the <declarations> or <statements>.
Hence you might see the CDS-11321, CDS-11307 warnings
and finally PLS-103 compilation error when generating
to the database. All these packages have somewhere in
it PL/SQL code having 'begin' or 'end' words within the
code (as strings).
This was recorded as a bug and fixed from 6i Release 4.3
or 9.0.2.1.0 onwards. You could use PARSER=NO instead
(especially if you're using a previous version that
included the bug).
Hope this helps.

• Newbie Question - Error in Transaction SFP - Layout Tab

Hi All,
When I go to the "Layout" tab in transaction SFP, I get the following message:
"Error occurred in communication with layout editor"
Have my BASIS department forgotten to install something, or is there some config required in SPRO?
Thanks,
Tristan

Hi Pavan,
It wasn't installed on my PC. I have the Netweaver Developer Studio CD, with which I can install the Adobe Designer, but when I try to do that it asks for the path to my Java SDK directory.
I know this is a stupid question, but is the SDK something I also need to install on my PC, or something that needs to be installed on our SAP server?
Thanks,

Hello Steve,
Firstly, you cannot install Outlook with Exchange because they share certain dll files.
About the EMS question, I suggest we try rebuilding the powershell virtual directory. If it still does not work, check the application log for more referernce.

• No mapping for the Unicode character exists in the target multi-byte code page

hi,
i have an issue with sharepoint 2013 and IE 10.
im using the sharepoint rest web service and make an ajax data call to retrive data from sharepoint lists, the call fail and return a server error: "No mapping for the Unicode character exists in the target multi-byte code page".
i have to say that everything works fine with chrome and firefox.
what can i do for fixing it?
Thanks a lot
alon

Hi,
From your description, I know you get an issue with IE 10 in SharePoint 2013 when you use SharePoint REST API to retrieve data from SharePoint list.
I am not quite sure what cause your issue. Could you provide your code, so I could test it in my environment and troubleshoot for you.
In addition, you could test your issue in another computer or another version of IE.

• OS X defaulting to 2 pages per sheet in "layout" tab

Hello,
I have a problem in printing from my unibody Macbook running Leopard. All printers that I have installed (all networked in my University - Xerox Phasers and HP Jaserjets) default to 2 pages per sheet (or per side) in the "layout" tab. (i.e. not the same as Duplex). That means each sheet is printed at 50% or so, rendering it unsuable for my needs. This is not a default from the University - others dont seem to get this problem. How do I change this default back to 1 page per sheet? (Duplex can stay).
thanks!
Ninad

I was using a preset called "Duplex" - I assumed that it shipped with OS X - and it printed 2 pages a side. Perhaps my university IT installed it for me - but it appears to be the thing that created this issue.
I deleted that particular preset and made a new one for "duplex" - 2 sided printing, but only 1 page a side. It appears to be working fine.
Thank you so much!

• Code page in BEx

Hi All,
I have problem with code page when I try to run BEx from RRMX transaction. I use my native polish language when I make queries and when I start BEx from Start menu everything looks good. But when I try to start BEx from RRMX, I have '#' signs instead of some specific polish letters (like ą, ę, ć, ó, ł, ż, ź). What should I do to correct this problem?
Thanks for help and regards,
Maciek

Hi Maciek,
Please try the following.
In your system select the 'Customizing local layout' button (or press ALT+F12) and select 'Options...'. Then go to I18N Tab and activate the multibyte functionality. Then close all R/3 Systems including SAPlogon. On next start you have in this menu an additional menu option 'character set', where you can set your codepage.
Close SAPlogon and start it again.
Best regards,
Eugene

I have found four things that I always check when I run into this problem. I have yet to find a time when one of these didn't work (specifically helps when reading data from flat files but I suppose most of the four would apply to any source). Check out my blog post, content repeated below:
1. Make sure to properly configure the "Flat File Source". When setting the connection properties to the flat file, take time to click on the advanced tab and ensure that the" Name", "DataType", and "OutputColumnWidth" properties are set properly. I have found that if this is setup correctly when the initial connection is created, some if not all of the data type issues and errors can be alleviated. The "Flat File Connection Manager Editor" can be accessed while initially creating the connection or by double clicking on a flat file connection within the "Connection Managers" for connections that have previously been created.
2. Depending on the order and steps that were used to create the connection to the flat file, sometimes the data types need to be updated in an additional area. This can be found by right clicking on the "Flat File Source" and selecting "Show Advanced Editor...". Once in the advanced editor, click on the "Input and Output Properties" tab. Expand the "External Columns" folder. For each field being loaded from the flat file there are some configurable properties. Make sure that the "DataType" field is properly set for each field.
3. Something else that can be done if you are sure that the data type is set correctly in both of the two previously mentioned locations is to set the "Flat File Source" to essentially ignore those annoying truncation errors. On the same "Input and Output Properties" tab, expand the "Output Columns" folder. For those fields listed, there is a "TruncationRowDisposition" property. By default this is set to "RD_FailComponent". This can be switched to "RD_IgnoreFailure" in order to allow the data to successfully pass through the "Flat File Source" even if SSIS believes that truncation is going to occur. Along with making this change, you can also check the "DataType" in the "Output Columns" as well.
Caution: If you do set the "Flat File Source" to "RD_IgnoreFailure" as mentioned above, always take time to review the data loaded in the target table to ensure that the integrity of the data was not jeopardized.
Note: I have found that when the "DataType" for both the "External Columns" and "Output Columns" is manually updated that it does not remain the same when the advanced editor is reopened. For this reason, try Steps 1 and 2 before setting the "Output Columns" manually.
4. The last thing to try, and this applies specifically to loading data from Excel files as opposed to text or CSV is to set the package to run in 32-bit mode. Click on "Project" on the top menu and select "Data Imports Properties...". Click on "Debugging" under the "Configuration Properties" and set the "Run64BitRuntime" to "False".
Working with data from flat files can sometimes be difficult in SSIS. By using one or many of the approaches I have listed above you should be able to create a repeatable process that is frequently needed within most SSIS packages. Be very careful when setting data types within SSIS and make sure to do it upfront when necessary because it can be harder to debug later in the development process. If the proper changes are made it should not be a surprise to feel a big SSIS developer sense of relief when the screen shows all green.
Let me know if this works!

• How to add a new character in code page

Hi,
I need to add a new character to existing code page in the upgraded system.
The character is latin small s with caron (u0161 ).
The character ID is 000161.
What is the byte sequence of the same?
Thanks and Regards
Shraddha

Use tranaction SCP .
Under segment , take the character sequence and include your new id value . Byte sequence in my opinion will be confirmed from the client .

• Revision: How to make tab control stop on a specific page upon pressing Pause?

I have a scrolling tab which scrolls through the tab pages until the user presses Pause. That works. Now I want the tab control to stop on a specific page once the user presses Pause. How to do this?

Well, hopefully I can give a simpler explanation of my project. There is a tab control (right now of 3 pages). I have written code which flips (scrolls) through the pages, one page per second approx. There is also a Pause button. When the user presses it, the scrolling of pages stops and whatever page is shown at the time of Pausing is the page that is viewable. So that could be page 1, 2, or 3 given when the Pause button was pressed.
But now, I would like to implement the feature that when the Pause button is pressed the tab control, through coding, has no choice but to show Page 1 (for example) or whichever page I restrict it to.
Actually I think I've got a idea now after typing this out, but your suggestions are very welcome!
I've attached screenshots of my code to this reply. The first two show Case States in my code (scrolling, not scrolling) and the 3rd isof the Front Panel and the tab panel itself.
