LCD brightness went down after the repair...

So I was having several issues with the LCD of my new Macbook pro (dead pixels, marks on the screen, uneven tones, backlighting issues, etc...), and Apple replaced the LCD screen for me. But now the brightness has gone down quite a bit. At least 2-3 notches down from the old screen. It is quite noticeable especially if I compare it with my friend's MacBook pro side by side. Maybe I thought Apple changed the manufacturer of LCD or something, but I've been told no by their tech support. Does anyone heard or experienced anything similar? Thanks...

A little off the subject, but since you had the entire LCD replaced, I just had a quick questions, does your replaced LCD make any noise what so ever? Does it sound exactly the same from the highest all the way to off or is different hissing as you go lower. I would appreciate it if you could let me know. Much appreciated. Your situation ***** and I guess I shouldn't feel so bad about mine - I got my logic board replaced and I still have both whines.

    It's on your iPad somewhere. It cannot be deleted.
    Swipe from screen to screen to look for it.
    You can also reset the home screen layout and the icon will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad.
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • Just updated my 4S to iOS 6 - it shut down after the instait showed a "connect to iTunes" icon.

    Just updated my 3GS to iOS 6 - it shut down after the install - then it showed a "connect to iTunes" icon.
    iTunes said the phone was in recovery mode & needed to be restored. Clicked "restore" in iTunes & get "iTunes is restoring the software on this iPhone" - didnt work - came back to showing the "connect to iTunes" icon.
    Have repeated the process twice now - same result - "connect to iTunes" icon displayed on the phone & iTunes says the phone is still in recovery mode

    Sounds like something is badly wrong with your system.  First step would be to start up from your Mac OS X install disk, by inserting the disk and holding down 'c' at startup.  Select your language, then choose Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.  In Disk Utility, choose your hard drive and click the Repair Disk button.
    If problems are repaired, try restarting and see if the problems are gone.
    If problems couldn't be repaired, you can try DiskWarrior, which can sometimes repair problems that Disk Utility cannot.  However, if nothing works, you probably are going to have to erase the hard drive and reinstall the system from scratch.  Hopefully you have backups!
    If there were no errors, or they were repaired successfully but that didn't fix the problem, then you should try booting into safe mode by holding down the shift key at startup.  If that works, you may have some bad third-party software.  What that might be is hard to say, though.
    If nothing works, try rebooting from the Mac OS X install disk again and install Snow Leopard right on top of your current system.  That shouldn't disturb your apps or data, but of course, if you don't have backups, you're in trouble if something goes wrong.

    I recently upgraded mine Blackberry 8830 from Os Version 4.2 to 4.5. I had to do it as i was not able
    to utilize the complete features of this smartphone
    One big thing i noticed though is , after upgradation the audio quality went down by almost 20%
    Initially when mine phone used to play songs , it would be amazing to listen to that being quite
    different from all other Mobile Phones. But after the upgrade , the audio quality declined.
    I tried all options , using audioboost and everything else, but not able to listen to same quality till now
    Can someone please help , may be i am missing out something here?

    Once you completed the upgrade did you restore a backup file? If you did then try doing this, backup the device again.     i am currently in europe. my MBP17"  was manufactured after may 2007 and was in service both in the US and europe between April 2008 and Dec 2010 three times in total, while still under warranty. none of these times was the motherboard exchanged for one with a non-recalled VGA GeForce8600GT chip.
    now the chip died and the computer no longer loads.     i am currently in europe. my MBP17"  was manufactured after may 2007 and was in service both in the US and europe between April 2008 and Dec 2010 three times in total, while still under warranty. none of these times was the motherboard exchanged for one with a non-recalled VGA GeForce8600GT chip.
    now the chip died and the computer no longer loads.     i'm repairing the logic board on my macbook pro, since the display flickers when I try and use it. also the cost to repair the logic board is around $300 correct?

    I believe 90 days parts and labor. This is unless the repair is being done on a warranty extension from Apple, then I'm not sure. Ask at the store.

  • Every time I close down after the days use when I open it again the main page is corrupt and I have to re-install the firefox again can I stop this happening

    When I open firefox first thing it opens but the home page is not working. So I have to re-install it. Then it is ok for the rest of the day but only to go down again the following day. What can I do to stop this happening? I use bt.com home page.

    2. Reset homepage as bt.com again.
    3. clear out all cokkies and browsing history.

    Did you fail to backup your iPhone before updating?
    You should store everything on your computer.

  • I can't accessed system recovery options after the repairing process was interrupte​d.

    although it's not my PC, i'm still concern about it (it's actually a public computer in our library). I actually tried to repair it using the system recovery options of windows 7 with thinkvantage technoliogies  but i interrupt it because maybe someone will caught me and i will be mistakenly be liable. and the result is after i restared it, it restarts over and over again, with BSOD appearing for a split second. i tried to use disable autorestart on system failure feature, and i saw the BSOD. but the real issue is i can't go through the recovery options, only until the part when i'm asked to select a keyboard input method, then the next part is this message: "You must log in to access System Recovery Options. If you are having trouble logging in, please contact your computer administrator for assistance. Click OK to restart the computer." anyway, this is the BSOD says: 
    A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
    Disable or uninstall any anti-virus disk defragmentation  or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

    I hope this problem will be solved as much as possible.  thank you in advance. and i also don't know what model of this Lenovo all-in-one PC is. but i think this is 3318F9U, and its i forgot its BIOS version, and i don't know how to access it. and also, i'm not sure if there's a preloaded Superfish in this all-in-one PC, maybe the vulnerability started it. because i recently read an article regarding the Superfish's vulnerability.
