LCD fading to black

Hi all,
My first post here wanted to ask if anyone has had the same issue I have a new Macbook Pro less than 1 month old it was fine for the first 3 weeks now I am noticing that to the left of my screen it is darker than my right? it's very strange sometimes it appears to fix itself once it warms up and other times it stays darker any ideas?

Wow, i have thsi EXACT error - 3 months old or so, all of a sudden after waking form a deep sleep the left side is a LOT darker. It lightens up a tiny bit after an hour or so (the left), however you can easily tell it isnt light the same. ALso, it is always darker on the left side now, its just very bad after a sleep but lighens up a little bit after about an hour
veryt frustrating. what did apple say? did you just bring it in to the guniess bar?

Premiere Elements 13, on Windows 7 64 bit, Problem fading to black at end of video.

With Premiere Elements 13, on Windows 7 64 bit, I am attempting to end a video with a fade to black transition. For whatever reason, it is fading to black then returning. Yes, I have tried it all three ways right, left and in between, but the it keeps fading out then in. And yes the transition is at the very end of the clip.

I have Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 7 64 bit.
When I apply the Dip to Black video transition to the last Timeline clip, the Alignment is Left Clip. You have been there and done that.
Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing when the Dip to Black transitions stops on your Timeline?
When I do as you have suggested I see this
Have you expanded the Timeline with the -+ slider above the Timeline and inspect the end of the clip as well as
other track content above or below, do you detect an fragments that might be a factor in what you are seeing?
If you start a new project, do you get the same result?
Could you post a screenshot displaying what you are seeing with the Dip to Black video transition placed at the end
of the last clip on your Timeline (Alignment: Left Clip)?

You should ask your relative to physically take the iPhone to the store rather than shipping it because as diesel vdub has said:
"No Apple store will accept an iPhone shipped to them"
All you have to do is safely pack and ship your iPhone from the Philppines to your California-based relative.

IPhone 5 screen went green and blue and then faded to black?

I was on my iphone and had messages open and than the screen just froze and turned blue and green and than slowly faded to black and now won't turn on. When i plug it into the wall it doesn't do anything. The phone is still on because my dad called the phone and it still rings. It has a glow to it too when it is in the dark so the screen must be on or something, i don't know. Any help please!!

New Ipod, LCD fading

I have a new ipod, the 30G model, and am having a problem with the display. When I have it in my car, one corner starts fading to black. Its always the same corner and it does it no matter where I put the ipod, under the seat, covered up, flipped over with the display down, doesn't matter. Its almost like its getting hit with sunlight for to long but the sun never hits it, and its just the same corner that it happens to, never any other part of the display.
So is something wrong with my display because I can't believe the just the heat would do that consistently. And BTW, its not that hot where I live.
Please help while I still have apple support.

Fading to black screen

Is there a sleep mode on iPhone 4s thAt would cause screen to fade to black all night and then be fine in the morning? My phone was fading to black from 11pm to 9 am. Now it's fine!

My mom's mac mini is experiencing a very frustrating problem.
She has an Acer 19 inch LCD. After startup she'll start up Safari or iChat or Mail, etc. and her display will go all blue and then just go black. Sometimes it will flicker back to usable and then go back to blue/black after a few more seconds.
We've been troubleshooting for a few days now and have discovered the following:
- When logging in under Safe Mode, the monitor works just fine.
- Removing all Login Items from her account doesn't help.
- Resetting the PRAM and trashing the plist file doesn't seem to help at all.
- Creating a new user account and logging in under that new test account doesn't help either.
So the bottom line is that Safe Mode works, but Normal mode does not.
Any help/ideas on what to try next?

OK, that helps. So this is a wide Acer 19-inch? 1440 x 900 native? Interesting that in Safe mode it defaults to 1360 x 768.
What I would tell her to try is the following: Boot Safe and then go into Displays preferences and switch the resolution to 1024 x 768. Refresh should be 60Hz. Then restart normally. Often, when you switch resolutions in this way while in Safe mode, during a normal restart, that last selected resolution will persist allowing the screen to come up in 1024 x 768 booted normally. Then, have her go into Display preferences again and see if 1440 x 900 at 60Hz is a selectable option (I assume that is native). If it is, select it. Hopefully things will return to the way they were back when the monitor worked fine.
Since you are remote, it might be worthwhile for you to spend a little time and learn how to screen share remotely over iChat. It's pretty easy to do if you are both running Leopard and it will allow you to control her computer remotely so you can administer to it those times when she needs help. Good luck.

Satellite L - LCD monitor flashing black after desktop loads

My LCD monitor has started flashing black at startup. It doesn't do it if I log off and log back in, only on startup. I can log in, the desktop loads and everything looks normal then after about 7 seconds everything goes black, then the taskbar quickly appears then disappears and then the desktop becomes visible again momentarily but goes black again. It repeats this very fast two or three times then starts normally.
Everything seems to be working fine otherwise. I disabled my antivirus so it wouldn't startup but that didn't help. I've done some registry cleaning lately so I restored everything back to well before this started and that didn't help either. I've done a lot of installing and uninstalling of software lately but can't pinpoint anything that might have caused it. This computer is about 2 years old. I have Vista 32 bit, service pack 2.
Anyone ever seen this before or have any ideas what the culprit might be? Really appreciate any advice.

OK, I connected a CRT monitor from another computer and it basically did it too. As the laptop screen was flashing off and on, the CRT screen went black and then came back on when the laptop went back to normal.
I think my graphics card is Intel Display Driver 7.15.10.1502. Does that sound right? I checked for an update through the Device Manager and it said no update is available. The same version is the only one listed at the Toshiba Downloads page. It's included with my Toshiba Application Installer so I'm tempted to uninstall/reinstall, but I'm afraid if it doesn't automatically install at at startup I won't have a monitor. Any advice on this or anything else is appreciated.

Please help me, my Sharp LCD TV went black.

I just bought a new Mac Mini and set it up straight HDMI to HDMI on the Sharp Aquos 37" LCD TV I had it working fine until I mistakenly tried to change the resolution. The TV went black and won't come back unless I start the Mac Mini in safe mode. I need to know how to reset back to the original settings before I get desperate and try reinstalling the OS.

Replacement LCD install problems, black screen after boot.

Just replaced my broken LCD screen (model LTN170CT10) about a third of the screen was just vertical white lines and you could see a dark patch where the LCD was broken.. My original screen was the matte anti glare so I decided to change to glossy as trying to find the aluminium bezel was proving impossible, anyway I followed the guide off this website and proceeded to replace the LCD, now after I boot all I get is a black screen, can't see any image at all, totally black. I opened the mac back up and checked all the cables and everything seems to be connected right but I still get the black screen. I thought I must have bought a DOA but I've tried the original LCD and that is just black as well.
Connected and external monitor and the mac is booted no problems, checked everything else worked, bluetooth, isight , airport etc, everything works fine apart from the display.

I've zapped PRAM and reset the PMU and still nothing
Any ideas of what to check next or any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Update -
After screen sharing the Macbook Pro on my G5 I tested the brightness buttons on the the Macbook's keyboard and sure enough I can see the settings go up and down. The contrast buttons don't do anything though the icon comes up on the screen and looks as if the contrast is turned all the way down and there is also a circle with a line through it, pic here - http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n265/remrok/Picture1-4.png,

Fading up from black or fading to black

hi in project on video track 1 i have footage of a presenter in front of a white back drop that covers most of the frame apart from a small area on the left. On Video track 2 I have a cropped white background to fill in the left of frame. At the start of my sequence I want to fade up from black and at the end I want to fade to black. On avid I would collapse the tracks then then fade up or down to black. I have tried nesting the clips in premier and doing this but during the fade I see a line where video track 1 and 2 meet. Does anyone know how to fix this issue. Thanks

What's so strange is that all the replies I have had I had already tried and YES they DO work pre-rendered, but as soon as I render the image it messes up the layers revealing all layers individually. It's becoming VERY annoying:( Sorry for the small picture... you should be able to zoom in on it. This is an example with doing it the keyframe and opacity way. I still get the same problem. It's like the layers are all being faded out at the same time. The only thing that seems to work is fading to white... which is what I don't want to do.

Faded/ No Black Color Printing HP PhotoSmart 5510 Series

I have a HP Photosmart 5510 Series device.
I have cleaned printheads, changed the ink/toner, checked the vents and still I can't get the black color to print properly without being REALLY faded or sometimes not even showing.
I have read numerous articles for help and still no luck.

I have a feeling the printer may be printing from the computer using composite black. For black and white images and photos, a blend of colors called "composite black" may be used to achieve significantly better image quality and smoother gray tones than can be accomplished with black inks alone. - Source
My suspicion is that the black ink cartridge itself may not be working or the printhead is not letting the black ink through to the page. Let's use the following links to begin our troubleshooting journey!
Please complete all of the steps in the following document; Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages. Although I hope this resolves the issue, it might not. As you have a 5520, If the issue persists, I would suggest calling HP Phone Support regardless of whether it is in or out of warranty as you may require a replacement printer.

Iphone 5 screen fading to black randomly ?

has anyone had a problem, once they have downloaded the new iOS 6.1.3, with their screen fading black randomly as if rebooting and apple symbol appears?

While a reset is a good troubleshooting step, sometinmes there are easier and safer steps to take prior to a rest. Powering off/on the phone should the first step: hold the sleep/wake button until you see "slide to power off", and slide to power off. Then power on the phone. PSE11 on Mac: selection area fading to black. Any fixes?

Recently started experiencing a problem in PSE11. When I select an area of an image using the rectangle or lasso tool, the area I've selected immediately fades to black. Modifying the selection area makes it visible again for just a moment, then it fades out again. I know that the underlying image is not affected, as I can apply edits (filters, etc.), and the image returns to normal when I deselect. However, this is making image editing difficult. I'm on a MacBook Pro, running Snow Leopard (10.6.8). I also use Lightroom 4, and have PSE set as the external editor.
I uninstalled and reinstalled PSE, which helped for a while, but the problem has returned. Here's a video of it happening on a blank image file.
Can anyone identify the problem or offer any solutions?
