LCD Help

Hi Guys, well its been almost 5 months that lines have started occurring on my Imac LCD.. however i know its expensive to repair so i did not care initially. However recently i bought the cable to mirror another lcd display to my imac as the LCD started to have alot of flickers.. This is my question.. anyone knows if my Imac LCD displays blacks out.. do you think the mirroring of LCD will be affected?

Hello Babychem
As long as the iMac and graphics chipset are in working order the attached display should work fine!
You should also check to see if you are entitled to the iMac G5 Repair Extension Program for Video and Power Issues in the link below:

  • Broken LCD Help Please

Two days ago my G4 PowerBook was open and fell approximately one foot and it hit the floor on the rear hinge, very lightly as well, and my LCD cracked from the lower left corner to the top right corner.
It was definitely my fault, however I am very suprised how easy the LCD cracked with such a gentle, short fall on a plush carpet.
Would I be better off buying a replacement LCD and trying to fix it myself, or getting someone else to fix it? Whatever the case, can someone please let me know the cheapest/best route? I really appreciate the help.
Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi, npmccann. It's often not the length of the fall, but the precise manner of the landing that determines how well or badly a Powerbook comes through the experience.
If you pay someone else to replace your display, it will likely cost more than the fair market value of your Powerbook — that is to say, you could buy an equivalent used PB in working condition for the same amount or less than the repair would cost.
If you're a highly skilled do-it-yourselfer and have appropriate tools, you can replace the LCD panel inside your Powerbook's display assembly, at some limited risk of damaging the new display or other components of the Powerbook. If you're a less skilled DIYer, you can replace the whole display assembly more easily, at greater expense. If you aren't reasonably dexterous and proficient with small hand tools, you'd be better off just replacing the Powerbook than tackling the display as a DIY project.

  • Soda in the macbook lcd HELP!!!

Ever since the applecare on my macbook ended i have had nothing but bad luck. Recently my macbook's charger melted. Now after a little spill of soda in between the keyboard and lcd area soda made its way into my lcd. I need to know some way to fix this, it occurred less than 5 minutes ago. The spill is growing larger, and is not going to get smaller from anything i tried.
It figures i just got back from the apple store and said "I don't plan to have more issues with this laptop, why should i buy apple care" :/

It mostly depends on where the problem is. If the problem is the video controller, then, yes if one display goes out the other will also, because the controller feeds both the internal LCD and the external display. If the problem is just the internal LCD display itself, if it goes out your external display may still work.

  • Digital Signature automatically inserted for batch processing

hey guys... hope you can shed some light...
Is it possible to generate a non-interactive form with a digital signature already in-place?
We're generating invoices in batch processing and need to have a digital signature in place when we email the PDF to our vendor. The digital signature will always be the same.
I did see this in the LCD help:
"You can use Adobe document services to sign a document, validate a
signature, select the collection of objects to lock, or certify a PDF
document programmatically. This workflow is ideal when a large number
of documents require a signature because they can be signed in a batch
    process.
To sign PDF documents in Adobe document services, configure the web
service for secure access using the secure sockets layer (SSL). For
details about this configuration, see the Adobe document services
    Configuration documentation."
I have a link to the older ADS config document [-Here-|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/30a9630b-4f89-2a10-6fab-e311b3ffd9a6] and am in the process of looking through it.
However, has anyone done something like this already?

    Otto,
    thanks!
    I hadn't checked out the demo - i didn't even know there was a demo program provided . BTW, it's FP_TEST_07.
I do believe you're correct that it needs to be an interactive form - that wont be an issue for us.
There is some documentation floating around that we're trying to piece together - we have our Basis team configuring the ADS for SSL connections.
From what I've seen, I think we have to store our signature in the ADS and attach it at run time.
Too many moving parts - I don't like it when I have to get more than 1 group involved to complete a develoment item.
I'll keep this thread updated as we progress.

  • Will Flex 2 integrate with WebSphere Portal Server

I have a few questions in trying to argue the case for Flex 2
    to a very large client:
Will Flex 2 integrate with IBM WebSphere Portal Server ?
Will Flex 2 integrate with WebSphere if not with Portal
    Server ?
Does Flex comply to the JSR168 Portlet specification ?

  • Show 3 decimal

    Hi everybody!
It's no way to show in a form a numeric field with 3 decimal digits.
The field in the context have the type CURRENCY 13 3
The form ALWAYS show the value multiplied by 10.
I've tried to use a text field, a numeric field, a decimal field.
I've tried to specify the pattern z9.999, in the data pattern and/or visibility pattern and/or editing pattern.
I've also tried to specify the number of initial or final digits.
    Nothing of this had work.
    Any help would be appreciate!.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
    1) experiment with the locale
    2) note that there are more type of field you can use, numeric field, decimal field etc. I am not sure but something tells me there is a currency field somewhere in the components library, have you checked all the tabs of the Library in your LCD?
    3) read your LCD help (F1), try to find for "pattern", when I had the issues with currency formatting, I have found my solution in there, for example you´ll find you can put for example the dollar mark into the field (means currency) etc.
    4) if you have a currency field in your context, why don´t you just drag it and drop on the form layout which will maintain the field properties for you, probably the default properties will behave for the currency
    have a nice day, Otto

  • Choosing a channel from services-config.xml

How do I know the best data channel to select in a given situation? AMF, RTMP, HTTP, etc... I'd like to know the best channels for database communication or remoting but I can't find any documentation on selecting channels.
Does anyone have some tips or direction?

It depends on your constraints - for example if you are behind a firewall and you cannot a port for RTMP you are forced to used other channels. • Advice on Learning how to use Flex Data Services

Hi. I've been using flex for a while and I'm now at the stage
where I'd like to be able to develop AIR apps. I wanted to do
something simple to start with...eg. have an AIR app on a few
friends desktops that lets users tick a box if they can make it to
a poker game. Do I need to learn another language like PHP to do
this or can it be done using just Flex? Other than the live docs
and dev guide that come with flex are there other
documentation/online info that can be recommended.
    Thanks!

the LCDS sql assembler might be a good fit for you. it allows
you to do sql crud from flex. there's not server side coding, just
    xml config.

  • Display Option: "anti-glare" or real matte display?

I just learned about the new option for an "anti-glare" display on 15" MBP. Haven't yet seen one with this option.
Is the option actually a different display, like the matte displays of previous MBP generations - or - a glossy display with some kind of anti-glare feature added to it?
    TIA

Seriously, I don't understand the post about the silver-bezel being ugly. First off, as important as aesthetics are, in the price range of the Macbook Pros, functionality should come first. Plus, all Apple's computers are of the highest build quality. Secondly, the pictures online do the silver-bezel no justice. I just bought a 15" 2.8 anti-glare Macbook Pro this Saturday, and let me tell you, it rocks! And honestly, I can say I like the silver-bezel more. It matches the body nicely, and looks very, very professional.
The color is amazing on these anti-glare screens. I have used nothing but anti-glare screens in the past, and this one is that much better. Seriously! I think the fact that it is also a LED LCD helps tremendously. The colors are rich and vibrant. They just don't "pop" like the glossy screens. It's much more realistic as well, in the comparisons I did at the Apple Store.
Whatever you do, don't get too sucked into the "cool" factor, or what everyone else has. Most people have the glossy screens because:
    a) They weren't available for the 15" models until August.
    AND
    b) The 13" (the most popular Macbook Pro) doesn't have the option.
So of course, most will tell you it looks better, it is better, yada, yada, yada. Some probably really do like them a lot, and others probably have no idea or are just commenting on what they have. If you check the two out side-by-side, I doubt you will still think that the anti-glare is ugly, nor inferior.
And, the anti-glare is actually usable at dimmed settings, which will help you take advantage of battery life! Seriously, if you get the glossy be prepared to have the lighting at almost full with every use. Unless of course, you enjoy gazing at yourself while computing.
Either computer will serve you well, I'm sure. I am new to Macs, and thoroughly impressed! As I said before, this computer rocks!

  • Unable to play video onto my Samsung LCD TV when using a Memorex Mini Soundbar MA5004. Anyone can help?

Unable to play video onto my Samsung LCD TV when using a Memorex Mini Soundbar MA5004. Anyone can help?

Does anything go to the TV? Like can you hear audio?
    Dod it ever work?
Does it work with other display devices?
You are using an app that supports TV out?
What does the soudbar have to do with it?

  • Help with display quality (LCD TV)

I've hooked up my Mac mini to my Samsung 32" LCD TV via HDMI cable.
The overall quality is just far from desireable and is taking away all of the fun from using this new mac.
I set the resolution output to 720p, which is what the TV supports. So that's good.
I played slightly with the Contrast and Brightness on the TV settings.
But I must be missing something. Although the image is sharp, it's very difficult to read from 6ft away, pictures look terrible (seeing the same picture on a different computer and monitor is so much more revealing), and the display is bad for everything basically.
Please help with any settings suggestions or perhaps a detailed guideline for my setup.
I started to configure a color profile on the display settings but the results weren't that great and I reverted to default. Too many subtle changes. My colorblindness probably doesn't help.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the response.
It's the latest Mac Mini with 2.5ghz i5, AMD Radeon HD 6630M, and 8GB RAM.
I am familiar with the "Just Scan" setting under picture size on the Samsung TV.
I'll look for the digital noise reduction.
Are there complete guides with recommended settings for different setups? Or maybe even general, that would help me here?
    Thanks.

  • My LCD screen burned out. I have it connected to a tv now, but can't get the menu bar or the function bars to show up. Please help!

My LCD Screen burned out, but the computer still works. I currently have it connected to an HDTV via, Mini DVI to VGA, VGA to VGA on the tv. Problem is, I can't get the function bar (maybe not the right term) or the bar at the bottom with all my programs on it. I get my screen saver and have managed to drag (by sheer luck since I can't see anything on my iMac screen) some of my pics I had on my desktop over, but nothing else. Please help!

The links are in your history, one click and you'll have them and you can post them for all to see.
Would take to long to find them all with good information. But this is one.

    And then i tried this:
    http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20090828224632809
    Didnt work either.
The maximum resolution for the monitor is 1080p. I have no problem getting this from my computer. When i use the HDMI i get 1080p, when i use VGA i get 1920 x 1080. Hmm
