LCM issue??
I am migrating from 11.1.2 to 11.1.2 but on different environment.
What I figure out is that the dataforms having *()* in the name of the dataforms
are not being migrated
I don't know i am right or wrong
can () in the name of the dataforms cause a problem in migration
One thing more i have to add
when i see the extract of my dataforms the forms having *(xyz)* are replaced by *%2528xyz%2528*
I hope u can understand what i have written
Please help?
Are you sure that you are using 11.1.2? Form import having braces was the issue in 11.1.1.3 but this is working in 11.1.2. I am able to migrate form name having () character.
Export process convert any special process like () $ etc into some other enconding mechanism but at the time of import it take care of these char , that's why you are getting %2528 for braces.
Hope this will help you.

while importing business rule from QA to PROD using LCM we are facing issues..It doesn't import Business rule . we had to do it manually copy and paste the code and variables. then stop and start the services to make this rule effective..we are on 11.1.2.0 version
please advice and anyone else is also facing same issue
thanksHi,
I did'nt faced any issues wile exporting using the LCM. This is actualy the best methods of exporting and importing the BRs form different environments.
You can also try exporting na dimporting the BRs from EAS console.
I dont you how you are doing it, it is hjust about selecting the artifacts take an export and import from the file system.
It is ok to copy paste if you have a few rules to export, but if you have many, then try to use one of the approach that the product provides.

LCM issues with Workflow, Task Lists, etc.
I have found several issues with migrating certain artifacts using LCM v11.1.1.3. Note that I have admin rights in all systems, and that there are no special characters involved. So...
1) Workflow: when migrating Planning Units all of them migrated, including their statuses. But not all PU comments (<annotation>) and logs (<log>) nodes migrated. It happened to almost all users - some who had 1-2 comments in the source system haven't got any in the target one, some got migrated only few (e.g. out of 5 in source, they got 3 in target). Since it happened to all users, it doesn't seem to be security. I have also checked (for those who partially failed) some other nodes, sequence, action, process state - they all seem to be OK. One curiosity I've spotted in few cases, is that in source LCM file (.xml) "priorOwner" node has the name of the user I am investigating, while in the target file (taken after the migration), for that same PU, that node is empty, actually says "null".
Any ideas why this might be happening?
2) Task Lists: when exporting TLs (in LCM) on occassion <dataForm> node in XML file would be missing for the task that actually has it attached. Again, no special characters are used, and I am admin. Then I tried to use TaskListDefUtil, and even if that list has required node, when I try to import, the task is still not attached to the form. I had to delete all TLs, then use Util files to reimport.
Anyone with similar experiences?
smiloI had issues with tasks lists using LCM in instances where parent task name was same as child task or a task has same name planning web forms. You might also find issues with exporting webforms with business rules attached to forms where form is on plan type A and business rule is on plan type B. In this case, after LCM import, plan B business rule will lose location reference to correct plan type and get associated with web form plan type. In this case you will need to attach business rules again.

Import BR thru LCM issue.
Hello,
I have a question reg lcm migration. Working on 11.1.2.2.300.6001
I have imported a BR (Existing BR replaced with some changes) thru lcm using Utility.sh.
In SS ( SS->Planning->App->plan type -> Calc Manager Rules) shows that particular BR got imported successfully. But when i log into workspace->calc manager i don't see that this BR is updated. I see that we have to deploy the rule from calc manager from workspace. But this deploy is modifying the currently updated BR in SS->Planning->App->plan type -> Calc Manager Rules..
I am not sure how to handle this? Was the import only imported BR into planning repository not calc manager repository? How does this stuff works? Need your inputs.
Thanks,
SDAs you observed, Calc Manager has it's own repository (just like how HBR had its own). So when you perform LCM for Planning, the rules are coming from Planning repository. These are the rules that were deployed from Calc Manager. (which means Planning copied the rules from Calc Manager repository to the Application repository).
Now for you to have both systems in sync, you'll have to update them at both places. If you think that the Planning rules are the recent ones that you want to keep, then
1. Copy paste the contents into Calc Manager rules.
or trick the system by performing an LCM for Calc Manager and replace the xmls using the ones that came from Planning. do take a back up of both (planning and calc manager rules).

LCM issue after 11.1.2.2 was installed; Unable to find artifact folder -
Hi there,
I was able to migrate artifacts from 931.x to 11.1.2.1 succesfully. (this was a production9 tot test11 system)
Now I have installed a 11.1.2.2 environment and things start to differ.
Migration is not workring as expected.
The import to 11.1.2.2 complain with several lines:
Warning in migrating artifact, "/Repository Objects/".
EPMLCM-37038: Cannot perform migration. Unable to find artifact folder - REPORTMART in the source application.
it does so for every selected folder to import.
It seems to me that the 11 import technically expacts the real folder names while 11.1.2.1 and before was able to import the structure/ foldernames like 0000012a and 000 and 00000.
Has anyone come across this an knows how to tackle it?
Your help would be very much welcome.Hi Jasmine,
thanks for your response.
I know the answer your giving is the theoretical answer oracle support would give me. On the other hand I used this tool succesfully to migrate/ copy IR artifacts from 931 to 11.1.2.1. So I am almost convinced it is possible to use for 11.1.2.2 too.
It looks like Orace likes to keep the real background knowledge of these utilities for it self. There is very very little information on the tool in the manuals. Which I am ure of I read them all. When a little part of the alcm changes the general public has to find solutions our self. Thats why I asked the forumpopulation to help me with it.

Issue with LCM while migrating planning application in the cluster Env.
Hi,
Having issues with LCM while migrating the planning application in the cluster Env. In LCM we get below error and the application is up and running. Please let me know if anyone else has faced the same issue before in cluster environment. We have done migration using LCM on the single server and it works fine. It just that the cluster environment is an issue.
Error on Shared Service screen:

Error on network:

at java.net.SocketOutputStream.socketWrite(SocketOutputStream.java:92)
at java.net.SocketOutputStream.write(SocketOutputStream.java:136)
at java.io.BufferedOutputStream.flushBuffer(BufferedOutputStream.java:65)Hi,
First of all, if your environment for source and target are same then you will have all the users and groups in shared services, in that case you just have to provision the users for this new application so that your security will get migrated when you migrate the from the source application. If the environs are different, then you have to migrate the users and groups first and provision them before importing the security using LCM.
Coming back to the process of importing the artifacts in the target application using LCM, you have to place the migrated file in the @admin native directory in Oracle/Middleware/epmsystem1.
Open shared services console->File system and you will see the your file name under that.
Select the file and you will see all your exported artifacts. Select all if you want to do complete migration to target.
Follow the steps, select the target application to which you want to migrate and execute migration.
Open the application and you will see all your artifacts migrated to the target.
If you face any error during migration it will be seen in the migration report..

Issue in migration of Planning artifacts through LCM
Hi,
I am trying to migrate EPMA planning application from development server to production server. I am using LCM for the migration and have taken export of the HSS, EPMA, Planning and FR & WA artifacts. I am now importing these artifacts in to production server, however I can not proceed with migration of Planning artifacts through Migration Wizard as I got stuck on the "Destination" step where I got message as "There is no destination available to migrate".
Please guide me on this...
Thanks & Regards,
AKHi John,
Please refer to my comments to reply:
Break down the migration into product areas first, start with HSS and then migrate, then move on to planning and HSS, this should narrow down where the issue is
That is what I am doing - I am migrating the artifacts separately i.e. I migrated the HSS first then migrated EPMA Architectue and at last I tried migrating the Planning artifacts during which I got stuck with selection of "Destination" for Planning artifacts.
+"The planning applications need to exist first on your target environment."+
For this I need to create a planning application manually before migrating, and since my planning application is EPMA enabled application and not a classic application I guess I should not create a planning application manually before starting migration. Please guide me on how can I ensure that planning application exist before migrating the same on to target environment
Thanks & Regards,

Lcm batch utility issue in 11.1.1.3
"Utility.bat" is currently unable to execute multiple Definationmigration.xml files from the batch mode
In the batch file i have called multiple Definationmigration.xml file
The batch file is in this format
echo D:
D:\cd d:\Hyperion\common\utilities\LCM\9.5.0.0\bin
Utility.bat D:\hssuser\ACMigrationDefinition.xml
Utility.bat D:\hssuser\AYMigrationDefinition.xml
Utility.bat D:\hssuser\AzMigrationDefinition.xml
Utility.bat reads the first "D:\hssuser\ACMigrationDefinition.xml" and getting executed successfully .I can the see the backup created under filesystem application group
while the other two files are not .
Is there any format to run multiple MigrationDefinition.xml from the batch file or does not support multiple MigrationDefinition.xml to be called in the batch file
Please helpHi. Have you assigned the classes to the entities within the metadata? If so, how are you checking that there is access or no access - data grid? The user may still see the other entiies in member selection dialog boxes unless you've checked the enable metadata security filtering within application settings.
Regarding [default], have you assigned classes to EVERY metadata item? If not, and it's common not to, then give All access to [default].

I got the error message - "Sorry, LCM application is unable to process your request."
My situation and activity was describe as below.
Check all Services from the CMC, all services are working fine, besides the AdaptiveProcessingServer.
1. AdaptiveProcessingServer -> Running and disable
Is the AdaptiveProcessingServer has any relative with the LCM???
(AdaptiveProcessingServer is working correct in my prod. Env.)
2.So, I use the ccm command to force the AdaptiveProcessingServer start, but it's still disabling.
So, I conduct the following activity, Re-install LCM :
a. Uninstall LCM and reset server.
b. Install LCM and reset server, again.
But it appears the same error message(still can't logon LCM), any suggestion will be appreciated.

LCM export and import for Hyperion financial reports 11 1 2 2
Hi All,
Could you please let me know how to perform the LCM migration for HFR in 11.1.2.2 version. I am on AIX.
I am having some issues with my HFR server and so I cannot open the reports. So I am thinking if I can use LCM and export and migrate the reports to another server.
The steps I am performing to do this:
Login to HSS > Application group> Reporting and Analysis> Repository objects> report folder name> select reports> Hit on Export
Now in the exported folder I see three things:
RnA-Reporting and Analysis (Its a folder)
Export.xml
Import.xml
Now under RnA-Reporting and Analysis folder I see sub folders
resource\Repository Objects\Under this folder, I see for every report there is one .xml file and 5 other files for the same report.
Can anyone tell me how to import these reports back into the new environment?
Thanks,Hi Celvin-
Thanks for the reply- And I followed what you recommended but none of the reports being migrated. I can only see one batch script under HSS and workspace in the target server but in the LCM export from the source server (The exported folder) i can see all the reports and the books.
Can you please advise what should be done now?
Thanks a lot!!! -
Migration of Web Analysis Report thru LCM (from QA to Prod )
Hi All,
When we tried to migrate Web Analyasis Report from QA to Prod using LCM, Security is wiping out in Prod after migration of that WA Report. Can anyone suggest how to retain the security of report after migration in Prod environment.
thanks in advanceHi Vijay,
I have checked migration utility inversion 9.x basically this migration utility is compatible for reports from version 7.x to 9.x and it is not supported for reports from 9.x to 11.x ....
So i have finally fallowed a procedure.
I have exported the reports from 9.x and imported in 11.x .
Then after exporting i have pointed database connections to new 11.x version server.
Now I was facing a issue when i open a reports in read only mode (i.e as a business user) iam getting a screen where it asks for database details ( I have assigned business user read access to essbase)
Basically this reports are pointing to my old essbase server i.e version 9.x server.
Please let me if iam missing something while exporting and importing reports.
Thanks,

Cache Memory Allocator \ Short Term Memory Allocator Issues
Hi all
I have a number of identically configured (High School) Servers which are giving me the same memory errors (some more frequently than others) and I've run out of ideas.
They are all HP Proliant DL360 G6 Servers, NetWare 6.5 sp8 with eDir 8.8 sp5.
The error messages are :
"Cache memory allocator out of available memory." followed by "Short term memory allocator is out of memory. xxx attempts to get more memory failed. request size in bytes xxxxxxxx from Module SWEEP.NLM"
The module referred to is always "SWEEP.NLM" (Sophos Anti-virus). A Server reset solves the problem but it is normally back within a month.
I've posted below a config.txt and segstats.txt from one of the servers.
I would be grateful if someone could help me with this as it's now becoming a 'headache'.
Cheers
Neil Hughes

Somewhat. From the time of day, and the loading of commvault modules
inbetween, this looks like a combined backup / AV scan issue. The
requests of Sophos are comparably big in size, and they vary a lot. That
will lead to fragmentation of your memory, until the memory can't be
allocated in one chunk any more. It also *seems* as if Sophos actually
scans the data while it gets backed up. That is *bad*.
