LCM x FDM artifacts in 11.1.2.3

Hi All,
         I'm trying to export the artifacts from a FDM app using LCM at Shared Services 11.1.2.3 version. But everytime I click on the app, I've got the following error :
Error : LCM is not supported for this Application
        Does it means that LCM is not compatible with FDM ? Or there must be an error in somewhere ?
Thanks

No LCM is not supported with classic FDM, it is pretty much at the end of it's life as it is being replaced by FDMEE which LCM supports.
Cheers

  • Error when importing artifacts using LCM from 11.1.2.2 to 11.1.2.2

    Hello Gurus,
    I am having issues when perform an LCM import to a different server. Following is what I get
    Could not read zip file
    EPMLCM-37015: Cannot Zip.
    Warning in migrating artifact, "/Configuration/Properties/Application Definition".
    EPMLCM-37038: Cannot perform migration. Unable to find artifact resource - Application Definition in the source application. I am not sure what needs to be done.
    Any help will be highly appreciated.

    In 11.1.2.2 if it is a classic application then a Planning LCM export will contain "Application Definition.xpad", this does not exist for EPMA applications. For classic it will create the application.
    For EPMA applications there will be a "Application Settings, Shared Dimensions, Filters and Overrides" file when an LCM EPMA export is run, the information in the file is the equivalent of the application definition file for a classic planning application.
    For an EPMA application which doesn't exist you probably have to first LCM the EPMA artifacts then deploy which will create the planning application, then run an LCM for the planning artifacts
    It does say even if it is an EPMA application that it will create the application if it does not exist but will fail because the "Application Definition.xpad" does not exist, whether this is the way it is meant to work or a bug I am not sure as I usually create the application first.

  • FDM & ERPI to FDMEE - Upgrade approach/challenges ?

    Hello,
    We are in FDM/ERPI 11.1.2.2.300 (used for loading data from EBS and file systems into HFM 11.1.2.2.300) and planning to upgrade (within the existing environment [in-place upgrade]) to 11.1.2.3. As we see that FDM/ERPI are integrated together as FDMEE in 11.1.2.3, we had big grey area on how FDMEE would function in contrast to disparate FDM/ERPI.
    We needed inputs from veterans or anyone who had experienced the upgrade to answer the follwing queries.
    Queries:
    [1] We have come to know that FDM and ERPI are integrated together as FDMEE in 11.1.2.3.
         [a] Since we have FDM and ERPI as separate components in 11.1.2.2.300, how should FDM and ERPI components be upgraded to FDMEE ? Any specific steps / approach that need to be followed ?
         [b] Are there any known issues / challenges involved in upgrading from disparate FDM & ERPI to FDMEE ?
         [c] How would ERPI artifacts (of 11.1.2.2.300) function in FDMEE - Are there any specific migration or any manual set-up required post-upgrade (to 11.1.2.3) to have ERPI artifacts (like source system, period mapping, location, import formats, data load mapping etc)      functioning in FDMEE ?
         [d] Similarly how would FDM artifacts (from 11.1.2.2.300) function in FDMEE ? Are there any specific migration or manual set-up required post-upgrade (to 11.1.2.3) to have FDM artifacts (like mapping, validation rules etc) functioning in FDMEE ?
    [2] Since only ODI 11.1.1.7 is compatible with 11.1.2.3 (from Compatability matrix), how do we upgrade ODI from 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7 ? Are there any patch available to upgrade or should we uninstall ODI 11.1.1.6 and install ODI 11.1.1.7 ?
    Any insightful response will be helpful for us as it would help us to gain clarity/confidence and comfort in upgrading to 11.1.2.3.
    Regards,
    Sathish

    hello Sathish
    As you are upgrading from 11.1.2.2.300 to EPM 11.1.2.3 (within the existing environment [in-place upgrade]) , it's called Applying maintenance release EPM 11.1.2.3 on EPM 11.1.2.2
    [a] when you apply maintenance release , FDM 11.1.2.2 gets upgraded to FDM 11.1.2.3 ,
         and ERPi gets upgraded to FDMEE 11.1.2.3
    [b] i have not faced any issue while upgrading FDM
    [c] please check epm_install.pdf for EPM 11.1.2.3 for upgradation  task for FDM and FDMEE  (see page 257 / 258)

  • Issue in migration of Planning artifacts through LCM

    Hi,
    I am trying to migrate EPMA planning application from development server to production server. I am using LCM for the migration and have taken export of the HSS, EPMA, Planning and FR & WA artifacts. I am now importing these artifacts in to production server, however I can not proceed with migration of Planning artifacts through Migration Wizard as I got stuck on the "Destination" step where I got message as "There is no destination available to migrate".
    Please guide me on this...
    Thanks & Regards,
    AK

    Hi John,
    Please refer to my comments to reply:
    Break down the migration into product areas first, start with HSS and then migrate, then move on to planning and HSS, this should narrow down where the issue is
    That is what I am doing - I am migrating the artifacts separately i.e. I migrated the HSS first then migrated EPMA Architectue and at last I tried migrating the Planning artifacts during which I got stuck with selection of "Destination" for Planning artifacts.
    +"The planning applications need to exist first on your target environment."+
    For this I need to create a planning application manually before migrating, and since my planning application is EPMA enabled application and not a classic application I guess I should not create a planning application manually before starting migration. Please guide me on how can I ensure that planning application exist before migrating the same on to target environment
    Thanks & Regards,
    AK

  • LCM Export of non-english-named artifacts

    Hello all,
    Is there a possibility to tell LCM not to use file names as artifact names when exporting to file system (unix server) ?
    For example, I have business rules, with non-english names, and after migrating them on file system, they looks like "?? ? ? ? ??". Setting unix locale does not make any difference.
    I know that "fileSystem.friendlyNames=false" setting in migration.properties should do this (use UUID instead of artifact name in export files), but it does not work.
    There is a bug 8686920 on this case on metalink, it fixes 11.1.1.1, but not 11.1.1.2 and 11.1.1.3 EPM versions which I use.
    Is there a workaround?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for reply John,
    Yes it would be nice to raise this bug again, or at least get any news (workaround) about it, when and in what EPM build it will be fixed.
    My customer's production server is deployed on HPUX (and development server - on Windows), so artifacts migration between prod and dev have some difficulties...
    By the way, this bug marked as non-public on Metalink, so I don't have any access to it, only header info.
    Thanks.

  • How to reconfigure the LCM artifacts path ?

    Hi All,
           During the install of the EPM 11.1.2.1, I've set the LCM Export Import Location as C:\Oracle\Middelaware\user_projects\epmsystem1\import_export.
           Now I need to change this location (Ex. C:\MyArtifacts).
           How can I do that ? Just run the configtool.cmd and, at common setting, try to change this path or i there some other way ?
    Thanks.

    Have a read of > Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Lifecycle Management Guide

  • Unable importing Shared Service artifacts from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1 thr LCM

    Hi all ,
    I am trying to migrate Financial Reporting from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1 using LCM. I have exported Shared Services & Reporting-Analysis data via LCM utility.
    While importing the same through File System in 11.1.2.1 , I am getting errors related to Groups, Users import
                /Native Directory/Assigned Roles/Essbase:<11.1.1.3 servername>:1

                /Native Directory/Assigned Roles/Planning: Error : EPMIE-25029: Invalid project Planning.
             What part of the 11.1.1.3 exported files need to be edited/modified before importing into 11.1.2.1 ?
    Please help if you have any suggestions & other ways of migrating Financial Reporting from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1
    Thanks in advance,
    Santy.

    Its Possible. You have to make changes in exported files according to 11.1.2.1 way. Probably John knows about the same.

  • LCM issue after 11.1.2.2 was installed; Unable to find artifact folder -

    Hi there,
    I was able to migrate artifacts from 931.x to 11.1.2.1 succesfully. (this was a production9 tot test11 system)
    Now I have installed a 11.1.2.2 environment and things start to differ.
    Migration is not workring as expected.
    The import to 11.1.2.2 complain with several lines:
    Warning in migrating artifact, "/Repository Objects/".
    EPMLCM-37038: Cannot perform migration. Unable to find artifact folder - REPORTMART in the source application.
    it does so for every selected folder to import.
    It seems to me that the 11 import technically expacts the real folder names while 11.1.2.1 and before was able to import the structure/ foldernames like 0000012a and 000 and 00000.
    Has anyone come across this an knows how to tackle it?
    Your help would be very much welcome.

    Hi Jasmine,
    thanks for your response.
    I know the answer your giving is the theoretical answer oracle support would give me. On the other hand I used this tool succesfully to migrate/ copy IR artifacts from 931 to 11.1.2.1. So I am almost convinced it is possible to use for 11.1.2.2 too.
    It looks like Orace likes to keep the real background knowledge of these utilities for it self. There is very very little information on the tool in the manuals. Which I am ure of I read them all. When a little part of the alcm changes the general public has to find solutions our self. Thats why I asked the forumpopulation to help me with it.

  • Issue with LCM while migrating planning application in the cluster Env.

    Hi,
    Having issues with LCM while migrating the planning application in the cluster Env. In LCM we get below error and the application is up and running. Please let me know if anyone else has faced the same issue before in cluster environment. We have done migration using LCM on the single server and it works fine. It just that the cluster environment is an issue.

    Hi,
    First of all, if your environment for source and target are same then you will have all the users and groups in shared services, in that case you just have to provision the users for this new application so that your security will get migrated when you migrate the from the source application. If the environs are different, then you have to migrate the users and groups first and provision them before importing the security using LCM.
    Coming back to the process of importing the artifacts in the target application using LCM, you have to place the migrated file in the @admin native directory in Oracle/Middleware/epmsystem1.
    Open shared services console->File system and you will see the your file name under that.
    Select the file and you will see all your exported artifacts. Select all if you want to do complete migration to target.
    Follow the steps, select the target application to which you want to migrate and execute migration.
    Open the application and you will see all your artifacts migrated to the target.
    If you face any error during migration it will be seen in the migration report..
    Thanks,
    Sourabh

  • 11.1.2 High Availability for HSS LCM

    Hello All,
    Has anyone out there successfully exported an LCM artifact (Native Users) through Shared Services console to the OS file system (<oracle_home>\user_projects\epmsystem1\import_export) when Shared Services is High Available through a load balancer?
    My current configuration is two load balanced Shared Services servers using the same HSS repository. Everything works perfectly everywhere except when I try to export anything through LCM from the HSS web console. I have shared out the import_export folder on server 1. And I have edited the oracle_home>\user_projects\epmsystem1\config\FoundationServices1\migration.properties file on the second server to point to the share on the first server. Here is a cut and paste of the migration.properties file from server2.
    grouping.size=100
    grouping.size_unknown_artifact_count=10000
    grouping.group_by_type=Y
    report.enabled=Y
    report.folder_path=<epm_oracle_instance>/diagnostics/logs/migration/reports
    fileSystem.friendlyNames=false
    msr.queue.size=200
    msr.queue.waittime=60
    group.count=10000
    double-encoding=true
    export.group.count = 30
    import.group.count = 10000
    filesystem.artifact.path=\\server1\import_export
    I perform an export of just the native users to the file system, the export fails stating and I find errors in the log stating the following.
    [2011-03-29T20:20:45.405-07:00] [EPMLCM] [NOTIFICATION] [EPMLCM-11001] [oracle.EPMLCM] [tid: 10] [ecid: 0000Iw4ll2fApIOpqg4EyY1D^e6D000000,0] [arg: /server1/import_export/msr/PKG_34.xml] Executing package file - /server1/import_export/msr/PKG_34.xml

    I go and look for the path that it is searching for "/server1/import_export/msr/PKG_34.xml" and find that this file does exist, it was infact created by the export process so I know that it is able to find the correct location, but it then says that it can't find it after the fact. I have tried creating mapped drives and editing the migration.properties file to reference the mapped drive but it gives me the same errors but with the new path. I also tried the below article that I found in support with no result. Please advise, thank you.

    BTW, this is running on Linux, except for EPMA which must run on Windows of course. Is there something I am doing wrong here? It seems strange that it works fine on an installation that has never had the planning application deployed before.
    Thanks,

    I was talking about the Essbase application itself, not Essbase agent.
    You can browse the applications and open the outlines in EAS, even if your application/database is stopped.
    Make sure you have a green check mark on both the Essbase application and database icon in EAS.

  • LCM Migration No Longer Working

    LCM migrations(Hyperion v11.1.2) are getting "stuck" at the point where Migration Status Report shows "Status = In Progress" but they do not complete. This used to work but no longer works. No known changes to the environment or setup
    1) Have tried running using various logins, but same result. Occurs regardless of migration attempted (Shared Services, Essbase, Planning artifacts, etc)
    2) No files are sent to the "\IMPORT\EXPORT\" directory on the Foundation server
    3) There are xml files created in the MSR (Migration Status Report" directory. They point to a problem with the password for "Credentials user="CSSTOKEN" (shown below)

    Could it be that the username that you are using for the migration doesn't have all of the rights it needs for the app you are trying to migrate?
    IOW, have you tried it with just plain admin instead of test_admin?

  • LCM export for planning app in version 11.1.2.2 is failing

    Hi All,
                  We are working on migrating the planning apps from dev to PROD (both are on 11.1.2.2) and I am trying to take an LCM export from my dev planning app by using the LCM utility but this LCM export is failing with the below error:
    Error message WHILE exporting the planning app from Shared services using LCM: The LCM export is failing with this error message:
    Error in migrating artifact, "/Plan Type/Plan1/Data Forms/VAT/Existing/Runoff/Renewal".
    Can not find form: Renewal
    Even though LCM export failed I still copied the folder from dev to prod
    Error on the prod server:
    I am copying the exported application folder from the DEV in prod servers in D:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\import_export path. This is the error message I get when I click on the app name under file system in shared services
    Listing file unavailable for file system repository - D:/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/epmsystem1/import_export/TEST/HP-TEST/resource. Error parsing application artifact listing metadata. An invalid listing or listing having empty tags.
    However I still went ahead and tried to import it but getting the below error:
    EPMLCM-37009: Error parsing application artifact listing metadata. An invalid listing or listing having empty tags.
    Please let me know what is wrong and what can be done about it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Try doing it from Shared Services and see if it is still failing. I think you are using an old xml file (someone deleted the form and the xml still has it).
    So better start over from Shared Services and that will generate the new export.xml file.
