LCP and disconnections

So since last November my bt broadband has gone...random.
After many calls to helpdesk and testing of line quality etc and testing of new routers nothing has changed. I get random disconects...sometimes i can go a week with no issues then not be able to connect at all..then maybe connect for 5 mins...drop connection.... then reboot router to connect only to have to do again 320 seconds later.
BT state there are no issues with the line and that the fault lies with my router.
After much web searching and accessing routers manager (btw Netgear DGND3300v2 with latest firmware) ive traced the issue to the LCP or Link Control Protocol.
Now as we all know the LCP sends packets to test the quality of the line....and if the quality isnt good enough it will disconnect the router.
So my question is ...Is there a problem with my line or at the exchange..or is it my (latest under 3 months old) router  at fault.
Set up is wired with no other pc's LAN or WAN...straight to test socket with no phones attatched. I dont have a network card so could it be the mobo?
Any help from somebody not affiliated with British Telecommunications welcomed :-)
LOL did i mention that my Download speed has dropped from an acceptable 800Kbs average to 200Kbs... 230 if i put my right foot in a bucket.

You might like to post your router stats & Bt speed tester result for other forum members to help. Forum members here are customers of BT, like you. That it is still working is miraclous.. most have died.. lots started flaking out at 18months to 2years..
    See deadtimecapsule.org
The few that remained now seem to have reached EOL.. you can repair if you have some skills.. fairly cheaply.
But it is well and truly time to replace.

  • Problems when connecting and disconnecting MBP and TBD

    Hello,
I have problems with connecting and disconnecting my macbook pro retina 13" to my thunderbolt display. Everytime I disconnect my MBP form my TBD with the lid closed it takes approximately 10 seconds until my MBP has recognized that the TBD is no longer connected and the MBP screens turns on.
On the other hand I also have a problem when I reconnect my MBP to my TBD. Approximately every second time my MBP does not recognize that the TBD is connected again and neither the MBP nor the TBD turns on. The small light on the power cabel of my TBD does not light up. It is as the TBD would'nt have any power. Pushing buttons on my Apple Bluethooth doesnt help. I have to disconnect and reconnect the thunderbolt and the power connector a coupl of times until the MBP finally recognizes the TBD and turns on. In some cases a different background picture is shown on the TBD than the one I usually have on my MBP.
The problem is very annoying especially because I connect and disconnect both devices and it really costs time.
I really hope there's someone who can help with the problem. Do you think this may be hardware problem of my MBP or TBD?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    HI there,
The first thing I would recommend is checking for any new software updates while using the display, this will check for any available firmware updates for the display. If you continue to experience issues, then you may want to take a look at the article below for some further troubleshooting steps.

Since upgrading to Mavericks, I have been unable to sync devices (specifically ipad mini and iphone 4s) to my MId 2013 Imac . They wil rapidly connect and disconnect, and I'm unable to do anything with the device. This happens with both USB ports.  Any suggestions?
MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.9.1)

Obviously, syncing an iOS device with iTunes over USB is still supported in Mavericks. Calendar and contact syncing with iTunes is no longer supported. That has nothing to do with your problem.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.

  • Have an iMac 2008/09 on starting today I have a white screen, an apple icon and a constant rotating sun, nothing else. I've tried turning off and disconnecting and reconnecting the power lead with the same results. Any thoughts? Many thanks Matt

Have a 2008/9 iMac on starting up today I have only a white screen, apple icon and a continuous  revolving sun. Have tried turning off and on and disconnecting and reconnecting the power with no affect - any thoughts or advice please. Thanks Matt

If your iMac came w/system DVDs, do the following:
Disconnect all devices from the computer then do the following:
Boot up from your DVD that originally came w/the iMac while holding down the "c" key.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar.
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
Once this process has been completed restart your computer and repair permissions directly from Disk Utility.
If Disk Utility is unable to complete the repair, you will need to use a stronger 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior, Techtool PRO (not Deluxe) or Drive Genius.

  • My iphone 4s connects and disconnects (repeatedly) when connected to my computer

my iphone 4s connects and disconnects (repeatedly) when connected to my computer, it works perfectly fine when connected to regular chargers, everytime i connect it to my computer it shows the charging symbol and then disconnects and reconnects in less then a second, it will repeat this process forever unless disconnected, sometimes it works perfectly fine and most of the times it does the same thing, I know for a fact its not the wire because i recently bought an ipad mini with retina and its usb is new, it worked with the retina for a day or two and then it kept connecting and disconecting repeatedly, my computer is two months old and i have new hardware in that machine, is it a problem in the usb power fluctuation? i am currently using windows 8.1 and i need solutions, this is super annoying, all my other devices work perfectly fine with the usb ports, all my usbs (2.0 and 3.0) do the connecting and disconnecting sometimes it even works ,what is the problem?

  • E71 looses signal and disconnects when in remote S...

    Regarding E71 and remoteSIM mode:
Anyone experiences the same problem as I do, that the phone is loosing signal and few seconds later disconnects from the in-car bluetooth (VW Touareg with RNS-510 module)? Mine keeps disconnecting, E61i did not do that. When driving E71 stays connected to in car system for maximum few minutes and than looses signal first and disconnects shortly after that.
Anyone here with the same car (unit) combination who could confirm/deny?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Still no solution from Nokia here.
Make sure your RNS 510 (build in VW multimedia unit) has the newest firmware (recent is 1102). You can find out which firmware your device has by holding SETUP button when the device starts (and displays Welcome to Volkswagen screen). A new menu appears featuring the software version. Should it not appear (make sure you keep holding the button until the menu appears) that means you already have the new software version.
Many people say that this solves the problem assuming you have the newest phone version 200.21.118 from 27-11-2008. I can't check myself as I have additional device connected to my RNS (TV free). Upgrading to 1102 would disable it which I don't want, so I'm still waiting for another solution...
    Good luck!

I have a new HP Compaq laptop using USB 3.0, when I connect my IPhone 4s to my laptop it connects and disconnects every seconds, I've looked in the device manager and can't find anything to do with Apple in there.
Has anyone found a solution to this?

However, I just purchased a new Macbook Pro 13 this Nov (2014) and I can't seem to connect my iPhone. it keeps connecting and disconnecting. its very annoying. i saw similar posts and threads but there is no resolution! please help

  • I just got an Ipod Classic and when i try to sync it it syncs half then deletes it all and disconnects

Whenever i plug my Ipod Classic (new) into my computer it says Sync in progress, then switches to "OK to disconnect" after loading about 40 songs on, and then deleting them off the Ipod.  What's going on?  All the computer says is "cannot load songs, unknown error occured."

    To help in troubleshooting,
    What is your iTunes version?
What is your iPod firmware number, as shown on the Itunes summary page?
You problem is iTunes timeout the sync process because there is no response from the iPod. Possible causes
    iPod Hardisk malfunctioning.
    Antivirus scanning
Other USB devices, using up the USB resource
iPod connected to USB 1.1 port instead of High Power USB2.0 Port
    IPod connected to USB Hub.
Windows plugins or Malware using up CPU resource.
Whenever you sync or Restore the IPod, connect the iPod to the Back panel USB 2.0 port, disconnect all other USB devices except the mouse, and disconnect from Internet, stop your antivirus.
But if the above doesn't work, bring it back to Apple , since it is under warranty.
You can also do a Disk Diagnostic as posted regularly by tt2, to check your Hardisk, it wont fix the problem but help you decide what to do.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3110831?tstart=240
The DD is for all users, Windows and Mac, so don't concern yourself that tt2 is responding to a Mac user.

  • Every time I connect and disconnect my iphone/ipad windows vista opens windows media player in the background.  It then hogs all of my cpu.  Does this happen to anyone else?

I am running iOS 4.3.5 and this has been going on for months now.  I need to keep my task manager open to kill the task when I connect and disconnect my iphone or ipad.  It hogs all of my cpu, sometimes opening 2 or 3 windows media players.

Sorry, just to confirm, I DID NOT ACTUALLY ANSWER MY OWN QUESTION!
I replied to the previous message from my iphone and I managed to hit the link to "This has answered my question" by accident!
I AM STILL LOOKING FOR A RESOLUTION TO MY ORIGINAL PROBLEM. CAN SOMEONE ALSO NIW TELL ME HOW TO GET RID OF THE GREEN TEXT TGAT SAYS TGAT MY QUESTION IS ANSWERED? That is a pain! It should at least ask you to confirm that your question is actually answered and you didn't hit it by mistake, like I did!

  • Why does my iPad keeps connecting and disconnecting from the new late 2013 iMac

    Hi there,
I've recently bought a new late 2013 iMac and ever since then I'm not able to connect my iPad 2 to it. When I do connect it keeps connecting and disconnecting  again and again for some reason. The cable is fine and I've tried it with other devices. Just wondered why this is and whether you guys can help me out.
    Thanks a lot!
    CitizenJohnny

    Hi,
I had the same problem and just found a solution. I tryed restoring all content and settings on the iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings). It took lots of time, however it didn´t work because when I connected the iPad and iMac the problem persisted.
Then I thought it wasn´t an iPad problem but iMac OSX problem. So I searched the web for "Reinstall Mavericks" and found this http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13871?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US.
It also takes like 6 hours with my internet speed. Next day I connected the iPad and everything is just fine.
I described both processes because I don´t know if in the end the iPad reset helped in the solution.
    Hope that helps! good luck

  • IPhone 4s keeps connecting and disconnecting from my new Macbook Air 2013

Ok I've been having this problem, I recently got an 11 inch Macbook Air 2013 and after I try connecting my iPhone 4s it keeps connecting and disconnecting every 1-2 seconds. I already check the community, I know this subject has been asked many times. Nothing worked out though. My cable cord must be fine because it works perfectly on my PC. I updated the OS and iOS to their latest firmware and still nothing. Whenever I try opening iTunes I get this message saying " iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. This device is no longer connected. " Please if anyone fixed this issue I would appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

I just solved it, I hope this helps everyone who is experiencing the same problem. Apparently the iPhone seems to charge normally and connect to iTunes if the iPhone battery is over 60%-70%. This must be a power issue the MBA has.
