LDAP - AD - Referral following yielded no result

Hi,
I have some problems with LDAP Queries.
I want to querie my Active Directory on port 389 from our Ironport C350 which stands in the DMZ. Firewall has been opened for this connection.
When I configure the LDAP accept querie an test it, I get an error
"Referral following yielded no result".
Does anyone know what this means and how I can solve this problem?
FyI:
I have configured our Ironport in our LAN with exactly the same configuration. This works fine.
Regards
Andre

    No.  My frustration with the problem just led me to begin the process convert all my email to a gmail client.  However, after some time all my mail with att/yahoo has been coming through as before.  Go figure.  Still will convert to gmail.

  • LDAP Log not showing external search results

    Hi,
    I'm conducting LDAP searches with a filter into the LDAP directory of OD Master. Results are as expected and authentication is correct for an LDAP user. I can see the authentication in PasswordServer.
    My question is, why doesn't the LDAP search show up in the LDAP Log (slapd.log)? All I get in this log are new user accounts when created showing a note that home directory attribute is not provided. I am not using home directories as AFP and Web services for groups are all that the user has access to. The preponderance of entries in LDAP Log are for
    "bdbsubstringcandidates: (authAuthority) index_param failed (18)"
    which has been there since 10.5 and continues despite making an index entry for authAuthority in slapd_macosxserver.conf and restarting the LDAP service.
    Can someone enlighten me on the functions of LDAP Log and what should be visible there?
    Harry

    I just discovered that if the formulation output doesn't have any entries in the cross reference section, it will not appear in eqt search results. does this make sense? Is there some config that we can adjust to make them apper even without a cross reference?
    thanks,

  • Strange Essbase Issue - Calculation doesnot yield proper result in MaxL

    Hi,
    All the Essbase veterans, need your help to look into this strange issue.
    We are running Essbase on UNIX and we have a BSO application where a daily batch process runs to aggregate the database for Actual and Budget scenario. Strange things is, the nightly aggregation process doesn't properly aggregate the data, as we see variance between the stored and shared hierarchies. But if we run the same aggregation through EAS console manually, the aggregation yields correct results with zero variance between stored and shared hierarchies.
    In the aggregation script we are clearing the upper level blocks (with UPDATECALC set to OFF), then use CALC dim on the entity and Accounts for aggregating the results.
    This issue has been very strange to my little experience as the same calc behaves differently when called in MaxL.
    Any helpful suggestion to nail this down are welcome.
    Thanks in Advance !!

    >
    Isn't dense dimension supposed to aggregate properly (as it is within a block) in a single pass. I am getting confused as theory i know is in conflict..
    Also, can Parents be tagged TWO PASS (as I cant think of any strong reason to make them two pass).
    Edited by: user10725029 on May 2, 2012 8:30 PMIf the dimension is tagged as the accounts dimension and and you have two pass members that are not dynamic calc, running the default calc will do the calculation in a single pass. Otherwise if they are stored members, then you have to do a calc twopass. If you have twopass in another dimension than the accounts dimension, it has to be dynamic or or it won't calculate as two pass

  • LDAP not returning correct number of results through Java?

    Hello all,
    I've written a little testing application for my new shiny LDAP server and have the following method in it, which performs a search based on department number:
    public Vector searchLDAP(String depNumber) throws NamingException
              String uid;
              String mobile;
              String givenName;
              String sn;

              Vector people = new Vector();
              Attributes matchAttributes = new BasicAttributes(false);
              matchAttributes.put(new BasicAttribute("departmentnumber", depNumber));
              NamingEnumeration results = ctx.search(base, matchAttributes);
              SearchResult tempSR;
              Attributes tempAtt;
              LDAPPerson tmp;
              while(results.hasMore())

    Have I done something really stupid or is there something I'm not aware of?
    Thanks!

    Hello Gemma!
    I think you have used a global class attribute atts and not tempAttr. So you get anything else but not what you wish.
    So i think you should change the code in the following way,

  • The follow up material results in recurssiveness

    HI,
    I have two BOMs one is plant specific production bom
    & the other is group BOM which is engineering/design bom
         Production Bom(plant specific)
    parent     MO
    child 1     m1
    child 2     m2
         Enginering/desing bom(indepent of plant)
    parent     MO
    child 1     m1
    child 2     m2
         m3
    So in material master  of m3  iam trying to discontinue with  discontinuation indicator 1 with follow up material MO
    The sytem is issuing the "the specified followup material results in recurssiveness"
    why the system is throwing this message though m3 is not present in the production bom (which is plant specific)

    Praveen,
    Are you trying to say that if you maintain the material BOM for M0 with M3 as component and a follow up material as M0 again..?
    It will definitely a recursive bom.
    Or is it that you are maintaining a material M3 with follow up material as M0, where the M0 bom has components as m1 and m2 and you are getting this error in this case?
    Please explain clearly..

  • How can I architect my data layer to yield query result pages to the application as SQL Server prepares them?

    I tried to make the question as explicit as possible.
    Refer to Sql Server Management Studio's Results view.  Depending upon the structure of the execution plan, the Results pane may begin displaying results while the query is still executing.  Can someone point me in a direction for architecting a
    data layer (I am tech and framework agnostic for this task. Any solution will suffice) that will begin receiving pages of the set before SQL Server has completed the entire query?
    The call from the data layer to SQL Server will obviously have to be asynchronous, but is there any additional ceremony that I need to be aware of when issuing OPTION (FAST x) to the query optimizer?

    Thanks for the reply. (I actually meant to put this in the SQL Data Access forum, not the T-SQL forum)
    "Generally the last step is ORDER BY in a
    query, so nothing can start before that executes."
    I would imagine you cannot ORDER BY and yield results as they are fetched because of the execution plan that would be generated.  For the purposes of this post, please assume that sorting will be done purely client side
    "Can you post your query?"
     For purposes of discussion, let's assume that the query is
    select *
    from information_schema.columns
    and also assume that you have "lots" of columns to display.
    This was an exploratory question to see what would be necessary to replicate the behavior of Management Studio's Query Result view in a custom application.
    I would imagine that there's going to be a lot of analysis of the execution plans that get generated in order for the OPTION (FAST x) optimizer hint to do any good, but apart from general tuning concerns that would allow SQL SERVER to yield a page of data
    "fast", I was wondering if there was anything else required of the calling client to force it to yield return its first page.
    After thinking about this (and phrasing it the way I did in the last sentence) perhaps this is the incorrect forum for this question.  I imagine that my concerns are better addressed in forums dedicated to the technology of the calling client (which
    would be a .NET assembly)
    Be that as it may, if there is any ceremony that SQL Server imposes on clients in order to yield return, I would expect that my question would be in the scope of SQL Server discussions (even though I intended this to be in a different SQL Server forum)

  • Comparing two queries yields one result too many

    I have a problem that I'm pretty sure is resident in the
    structure of a loop, but I'm not quite sure how to fix it.
    All of this is being done within a cfc. The cfc calls the
    first method for Query1, then calls the second method for Query2.
    Query1 has 173 records, Query2 has 117 records. Technically the
    difference should be 56 records.
    However, the result of myquery (below) is giving me 57
    records. And every one of them is a real record. Code as follows:
    <CFSET myquery = QueryNew("var1, var2, var3, var4,
    var5")>
    <CFLOOP INDEX="i" FROM="1" TO="#Query1.recordcount#">
    <CFQUERY NAME="checkJob" DBTYPE="query">
    SELECT var1
    FROM Query2
    WHERE var1 = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_varchar"
    value="#Query1.var1
    #">
    </CFQUERY>
    <CFIF checkJob.recordcount lte 0>
    <cfset newRow = QueryAddRow(myQuery, 1)>
    <cfset temp = QuerySetCell(myQuery, "var1",
    Query1.var1)>
    <cfset temp = QuerySetCell(myQuery, "var2", Query1.var2
    )>
    <cfset temp = QuerySetCell(myQuery, "var3",
    Query1.var3)>
    <cfset temp = QuerySetCell(myQuery, "var4", Query1.var4
    )>
    <cfset temp = QuerySetCell(myQuery, "var5",
    Query1.var5)>
    </CFIF>
    </CFLOOP>
    <CFRETURN myQuery>
    So if all is done correctly, I should be getting the results
    from Query1 that are NOT in Query2.
    It's *almost* right.
    Since var1 exists in all of the records returned by myquery,
    one presumes that there's an extra record being returned that *IS*
    in Query2.
    I'm not sure why, though.
    The resultant screen needs to print out all of the variables
    from query1 that do not exist in query2. Hence, myquery.
    Anyone have a better recommendation on how to fix this
    problem? I feel like a goober for even asking it, but it's been
    annoying me all afternoon.
    Rizados

    Simon, I would appreciate not being called lazy and yet
    overly complicated in the same sentence. Ignorant, perhaps, overly
    complicated, very likely, but lazy isn't the word I'd use.
    When it comes to MSSQL, I was actually unaware I could use a
    query of queries approximation without writing the whole thing out.
    Thank you so much for correcting my ignorance. My apologies if this
    isn't the type of database I've been using for the last few years,
    and if my familiarity with the database is not as great as yours.
    I have been trying to componentize this application where
    applicable, and the queries I speak of were already componentized
    prior to me coming into this. Both the primary and secondary
    queries are being used by multiple applications on the same server,
    and multiple times in the same page with different parameters (the
    same page is being used several times). This third query is
    obviously the difference between the two. If the second query has
    to change at any time, then changing it only once within a
    component makes more sense than having to find it multiple times
    within the code to change it again, since the business rules on
    said query have had to change a few times before. Better to have it
    in one place than to change it in multiple places and risk having
    one be changed while the others are not.
    Lazy has nothing to do with it so much as accuracy. Multiple
    instances of the same code means having to find it multiple times
    when the code needs to change, and risking that you may miss one.
    If they allowed me to use a view to do it as recommended by
    cf_dev2, I would do so, and it would make my life a lot less
    complicated. However, that option is not available to me, therefore
    I have to go the "more complicated" route.

  • YTD report generated from excel data yielding incorrect results

    I am trying to generate a YTD report from the data present in an excel sheet. However the result is coming out to be incorrect for YTD sales
    The data sheet looks like this.(SaleDate is in *3/14/2009 format).
    SNo     manufacturer     date     # of CarsSold
    1     Hyundai     1/2/2010     10
    2     Maruti     1/2/2010     15
    3     Hyundai     1/14/2010     11
    4     Maruti     1/14/2010     15
    5     Hyundai     2/1/2010     10
    6     Maruti     2/1/2010     13
    My logical layer consists of the following 3 tables
    Manufacturer Dim table with only 1 column 'manufacturer'
    Date dim table with only 1 column 'date'. Additional derived columns in this logical table created for YTD calculations are as follows:
    CALENDER_YEAR_NAME---- EXTRACT( YEAR FROM testdata.TimeDim."date")
    QUARTER_OF_YEAR------- EXTRACT( QUARTER_OF_YEAR FROM testdata.TimeDim."date")
    MONTH_OF_YEAR----------- EXTRACT( MONTH FROM testdata.TimeDim."date")
    CALENDER_QUARTER_DESC------ CONCAT( CAST (testdata.TimeDim.CALENDER_YEAR_NAME AS CHARACTER ( 30 )), CAST (testdata.TimeDim."QUARTER_OF_YEAR" AS CHARACTER ( 30 ))) ////appending year name to month name for uniqueness
    CALENDER_MONTH_DESC------ CONCAT( CAST (testdata.TimeDim.CALENDER_YEAR_NAME AS CHARACTER ( 30 )), CAST (testdata.TimeDim.MONTH_OF_YEAR AS CHARACTER ( 30 )))
    After that time dimension was created with the following levels.
    timedimtotal
    year
    quarter
    month
    timedimdetail-Chronological key has been specified at all levels of the time dimension created for YTD calculation.The key at the lowest detail level was specified as 'date' column. At the upper levels it was CALENDER_MONTH_DESC,CALENDER_QUARTER_DESC,CALENDER_YEAR_NAME etc
    Fact table with 1 column '# cars sold'.The fact table is joined with both the dim tables by complex logical join. Sno has been ommitted and not used in any of the logical tables. Sale YTD column was created in fact table using todate function(year).
    The result am obtaining if i run the report today is:
    CALENDER_YEAR_NAME QUARTER_OF_YEAR MONTH_OF_YEAR # of CarsSold SaleYTD
    2,010 1 1 51 51
    2,010 1 2 23 46
    As you can see YTD for month 2 is coming incorrect it should be 51+23. This is jst test records and the same difference exists even if i run against my actual excel sheet
    I would like to know:
    1. Is it right to run YTD report against excel sheet as I checked for the query beign generated by answers, and its firing a lot of functions like Quarter name and monthname etc which i am not sure are supported by excel for answers.
    2. If i am going fundamentally wrong somewhere in this entire approach as i am new to obiee and chances are i might be missing something important.
    Would highly appreciate your help
    Regards
    Himanshu Hira

    I have another solution and that is to actual discard the result before you get to the report stage.
    You can do this by use of the Override Callback SequenceFilePostResultList and if Skipped then discard the result from ResultList.
    Check out this link.

  • Searching in Hebrew for Apps in Israel's iTunes Store yields irrelevant results?

    Does search in Hebrew works with Hebrew keywords? Or at least the App's Hebrew title?
    Two examples:
    Top 6 hits when searching for  Restaurants in Hebrew ("מסעדות") are:
    (all title are in Hebrew)
    Learn Spanish
    Learn French
    Learn German
    Learn Italian
    easyTrade (digital stock trade)
    Sponser (finance)
    Top 6 hits when searching for Audio Tour in Hebrew ("סיור קולי") are:
    (all title are in Hebrew)
    Learn Spanish
    Learn Italian
    Learn French
    Learn German
    easyTrade (digital stock trade)
    Moskuna Clinics (Health & Fitness)
    I believe the iTunes/App Store search is broken in Hebrew showing spammy results.
    Does anyone have any idea about this?
    Hope it gets fixed because right now the Israeli App Store is useless...

    Hi Crystal,
    I know exactly what you mean cuz the same thing has happened to me many times.
    I figured out a way that works however by doing the following:
    I just typed in Tunnel Trance Force & got nothing; then I highlighted the terms, cut it & pasted it right back and boom like that the results were there.
    As a fellow runner & music lover, I hope that it works for you too.
    EDIT:  Crystal, don't bother retyping. Rather, try cutting & pasting it back...that's the way that it works for me. I suppose I should let you know that I have an iMac running Snow Leopard w/ iTunes 11.0.5.
    Good Luck

  • Method from Random class yields unexpected results

    Hi,
    I understand that the following code should generate a random integer within the range of 0 - 3, but the range is actually 0 - 4. Can someone tell me why it doesn't behave as expected? Could it be the version of Java I'm using?
    Random rand = new Random(47);
    int a = rand.nextInt(4);Thanks!

    You're right! It seemed to be producing unexpected results because I had incorporated a switch statement without breaks (part of my assignment). So, .nextInt() works as expected.
    Thanks!Since you didn't post that code or even allude to it, it would have been hard for use to guess that's what you did, right?
    That's why the best way to ask for help is for you to write and post a SSCCE .

  • Mod(x,y) and Quotient & Remainder.vi yield different results

    Is it normal that the mod(x,y) function doesn't yield the same results as the Quotient & Remainder.vi when x is negative?
    For instance, if you use the Quotient & Remainder.vi with x=-3.7 and y=1, the results are:
    x-y*floor(x/y)=0.3 and floor(x/y)=-4
    which is consistent and also what I expected.
    However, if you compute mod(x,y), the result is -0.7, whereas the floor(x/y) function yields -4, which is inconsistent.
    Shouldn't mod(x,y) be equivalent to x-y*floor(x/y)?
    Thanks if you can help.

    I am not aware of a "mod(x,y)" function in LabVIEW.
    Could you tell us which mod(x,y) function you are comparing?

  • Interrogating xsl:variable value yields unexpected result

    Hi,
    We have a problem which we are unsure as to whether it is a bug or not.
    The transform below declares an xsl:variable (VAR1) and assigns it a value (X). This variable is subsequently interrogated, by checking for its value to be equal to Y, and this returns true. Is this as expected?
    We are running Oracle 10.2.0.1
    To reproduce, run the following transform against the following sample XML to output the following result

  • The "power search" yields no results whatsoever when i attempt to search. Is this a problem with itunes or my computer? Everything else seems to load just fine involving the itunes store.

    I am attempting to search for artists on itunes and for some reason it keeps telling me there are no results when I know I am tying in the correct artist. I have been trying this repeatedly and using different artists and song names and I am still getting no results. Is this a problem with itunes?

    The only thing I would be concerned about is.
    1st, Where did the media come from.
    2nd, Was it clean and free of scratches.
    Most of the CD&DVD Drives in Powerbooks seem to be very very picky about the media they like to play with.
    Always be carefull of the Source from where it came.
    Commercially produced Media is rarely a problem.
    It doesn't take much eiter to make them act silly.
    Good Luck....Don
