LDAP as datasource for SAP EP7.0

Hi All,
I want to configure the LDAP as the datasource for the SAP EP 7.0(have both j2ee + abap stack).
I followed many of the documents like: Note 777640 - Using an LDAP Directory as UME Data Source and SAP library.
But when I want to change the datasource for the UME,
System configuration> system administration>UMconfiguration--> datasource tab
There I can be able to see only the abap datasource. But when i followd the same for EP6.0(only j2ee),
there are many data sources like database only, AD etc.
So how can I proceed for the SAP EP 7.0 configuration with LDAP.
Any help will be appreacited.

For Dual stack its NOT possible to change UME datasource from ABAP.

Hii.
You can not copy the standard datasource to any other source system it will not allow you to do that.
But if you want to copy you can copy it to PC FILE source system.
It will allow you to copy there.
Right click in Datasource->Copy-> Give Target datasource name -
> intarget Source system tab -
>Give Source system for File.

Step 1. Select Source systems under Modelling in the left panel. In the right panel, right-click Source systems and select Createu2026.
Step 2. Select the FileSystem, manual meta data, data using file inte option, and then click to continue.
Step 3. Enter a name and a description for the source system, and then click to create the source system.
Now create an application component
Step 1. Select InfoSources under Modelling in the left panel. In the right panel, right-click InfoSources and select Create application componentu2026.
Step 2. Enter a name and a description for the application component, and then click to continue. (BW automatically adds a prefix of "Z" to the technical names of application components, unlike the naming system used for other BW objects.If u give the name as AC_DEMO it will be saved as ZAC_DEMO in the system.
Now create infosource
Step 1.Select InfoSources under Modelling in the left panel. Right-click the newly created Application Component , and then select Create InfoSourceu2026.
Step 2. Select the option Master data/texts/hierarchies, and then click to continue.
Step 3. Enter your infoobject name, and then click to continue.
Now you will be asked
Infosource(name) assigned to Appln component(name)?
Click continue
Now go back to workbench and see the Infoobject listed under the Application component name (under Infosource)
Right click the infoobject name and select Assign Datasource
Enter the Infoobject name as Infosource name and the source system name and continue
Now you ll get datasource assignment confirmations for Infosource_ATTR and Infosource_TEXT for master data and text.
Click yes and continue
Now you ll be taken to the Infosource(master data) change screen
Source system name will be given
Below that u need to give the datasource name u2026.._ATTR
Click Activate.
Now Click the tab transfer rules
Copy the communication str infoobject names to an excel sheet
For ex if your infoobj are IO_MATNUM and IO_MATNAME (material number and material name) copy and paste as
IO_MATNUM      IO_MATNAME
MAT001     TEA
MAT002     COFFEE
MAT003     SUGAR
GIVE YOUR DATA IN THE EXCEL. AND CLICK File Save As CSV(comma delimited) and save to ur system. Give file name as something like infosourcename_ATTR.csv
Now back to the Infosourcechange screen
Source system name will be given
Below that u need to give the datasource name u2026.._TEXT
And activate
Now Click the tab transfer rules
Copy the communication str infoobject names to an excel sheet
GIVE YOUR DATA IN THE EXCEL. AND CLICK File Save As CSV(comma delimited) and save to ur system. Give file name as something like infosourcename_TEXT.csv
Now create Infoobject to load data
Go to Infosourceu2014Appln Componentu2014InfoObju2014SourceSystemu2014rightclick->create Infopackage

Error using SAP datasource for OmniPortlet

I have installed and configured PDK 9.0.4.0.2 on my iAS 10g system. Also installed and configured the SAP datasource for OmniPortlet. After I put an OmniPortlet portlet on a portal page then I begin to define the defaults for the portlet instance, I select "SAP - Use SAP R/3 system as a source of data" and press the Next button. I get the following error message: "Error: The listener returned the following Message: 500 Internal Server Error".
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

1 - First , pay closely attention on the documentation and installation guide :

2 - Make sure that you are using a CORRECT version. For PDK , must be 9.0.4.1;
3 - Sapjco.jar version 2.0.2 isnÂ´t available anymore, at SAP website. I have used sapjco.jar version 2.0.10, and please, follow ALL instructions, thatÂ´s include do the examples;
4 - Make sure that all steps (Installing the OracleAS Data Source Plugin,Installing the JCo libÂ´s,Testing the Deployment, etc) describe on the installation guide, be complete successfully;
5 - On my case, Â´cause we have Infra and Middle , at same host ( hold on...itÂ´s just a developed enviroment...), a did specify a CLASSPATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH , at ..EMC > Middle > OC4J_Portal > Server properties > enviroment ..
6 - My question now is... That plugin itÂ´s just able to see a default BAPIÂ´s? ItÂ´s possible to work with "Z" functions ?

Datasource and Data flow for SAP table AFVC and field AUFPL

You can search using SE11.
goto SE11 in ECC system, give the table name and click on where used list.
in the next screen select structure and press enter.
in the result screen you will get the list

BW DataSource for Cash Management on SAP Simple Finance

Hi All Experts,
In our project, we have installed SAP Simple Finance 1.0 add-on for SAP Business Suite on HANA which introduced plenty of new functionality especially on Finance Accounting and Cash Management.
The impact from Simple Finance is that, it seems existing standard data sources for Treasury - Cash Management don't work anymore, i.e. there is no transaction data. I believe it's because the change on source table inside SAP ERP.
We also already activated local BI contents on SAP ERP side (i.e. embedded BW) which allows reporting directly on top of SAP ERP Query. All data models here are VirtualProvider based on function modules. And data is there!
However, due to some limitation, we are not authorized to modify or customize those BW objects on SAP ERP. And meanwhile, we have got a requirement to extract Cash Management data from SAP ERP to dedicated SAP BW system (not direct reporting on SAP ERP). We encountered a problem that we cannot use the existing BI contents; and also cannot generate export data source from VirtualProvider in ERP to be used a source towards BW.
Is there any workaround or resolution to extract data from SAP ERP (Simple Finance installed) to SAP BW? Any suggest is appreciated. Thank you.

Extending HANA Live Views
But these urls describe the way to extend/enhance 'view like' views i think.
How 'function module' views should be extended is something i have not seen/read before.
If the functionmodules point to HANA Calculation VIews maybe ..?

Can I use 2 datasources for UME?

I want to use 2 datasources for UME, LDAP as primary DS, UME own DB as second DS.
Actually, i want to do that if it can't find an account in LDAP, the system will try to retrieve this account in UME own DB.
Can I do that in EP7.0??

You can configure UME with max user management/AD servers at a time.
Its called multi-domain authentication
It will require a change in the UME xml file.

MS Active Directory 2008 as UME datasource for AS Java

Hello,
We are running SAP EP on top of a SAP AS Java using LDAP certification, so users
from MS Active Directory 2003 domain are trusted by the Portal
I've now a problem with the version upgrade of MS Active Directory from 2003 to 2008,
it seems only SAP AS ABAP supports MS AD 2008, and our instance is JAVA only
Note 983808 - "Certified LDAP servers" also confirm this
Do you know if AD 2008 is supported, if any note has been released about this and
any document to help me wiith this issue?

I checked the note and it refers about Windows 2008 and a scenario with SSO, that's not our case.
We just have AD as a LDAP UME datasource, users must still pass user and password which
is then checked and then login is authorized
you mentioned AD 2008 is supported for Netweaver AS Java, could you send me any document
or note with procedures or anything for configuring it ?

My Question is what Crystal Reports libraries or other method should I be using ?
Crystal Reports 2008 for SAP Business One eg. 51038978.zip - downloaded from portal obviously dosn't contain the CrystalDecisions libraries.
Crystall Reports 2008 - cr2008_sp3_fullbuild, cr2008fp33.exe, cr2008fp33_mm, cr2008fp33_clickonce - also download from the portal, the cr2008_sp3_fullbuild does contain the crystal decisions libraries.
Finally other choices are crystal reports included with the visual studio 2008 and crystal reports full version direct from Business Objects.
I have tried different versions of crystal decision libraries- eg, 12.0110 or 12.02 but still no joy.
Also if I manage to get the report to fire what should the client be running eg, if they have the Crystal Reports 2008 for Business One do they also need to install the Crystal Reports Run time - cr2008fp33_clickonce.
Any help would be appreciated.

Since the SDK works in 2007 it will be using the OLD DB access method.
Change the Crystal report to use an OLE DB datasource rather than the SAP Business One data source.

How to only synchronize one specific LDAP user group with SAP?

Hopefully this is the correct forum to post this in. I want to have continuous one-way synchronization of users from my LDAP server to my SAP central system. I've started configure in SAP using transaction SM59 and LDAP. Can I somewhere set that only one specific LDAP user group shall be transferred to SAP (they do not need to be assigned to any specific group, profile, role in SAP) - or should this be done on the LDAP server side (or is it at all possible)?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the User Group field in the report RSLDAPSYNC_USER only concerns SAP user groups right? This would therefore not be sufficient since I want to select the users to synchronize based on user groups in the directory.

We've used a repository constant to specify the LDAP filter for reading users / groups from the LDAP target.
E.g. LDAP_FILTER_USERS (&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user))
Then we also have a constant for the LDAP_STARTING_POINT
For our AD Group Initial Load we filter according to these settings:
LDAP_FILTER_GROUPS = (objectclass=group)
LDAP_STARTING_POINT_GROUPS = ou=IDMManagedGroups,ou=Groups,dc=cfstest,dc=le,dc=ac,dc=uk
The above example only reads AD groups starting at the specified OU
Then in a Job From LDAP Pass the LDAP URL looks like this:
LDAP://%$rep.LDAP_HOST%:%$rep.LDAP_PORT%/%$rep.LDAP_STARTING_POINT_GROUPS%?*?SUB?%$rep.LDAP_FILTER_GROUPS%

No SAP Datasources or SAP Toolbar in Crystal Reports 2008

I cannot see the SAP toolbar or SAP datasources under "Create New Connection" in Crystal Reports 2008 SP1.
After reading many threads on SDN and reistalling Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 and the BOBJ SAP Integration Kit many times I have not been able to get this to work. I have installed the following in order:
- SAP GUI for Windows
Release: 710
Build: 1046700
Patch Level: 12
includes the BW 3.5 AddOn and BI 7 AddOn
Crystall Reports 2008 SP1 which I installed all components except Legacy XML Export.
Business Objects XI Integration Kit XI 3.1 for SAP which I installed all desktop components and all server components excluding web content and SDK. This was a local install on my PC.
I have ensured that I have only one instance of SAPLOGON.ini on my PC.
I have not applied the transports yet because I want to see the SAP datasources and SAP toolbar in Crystal Reports before I progress.
We do not have Business Objects Enterprise and I'm not sure what "BOE 3.1 Client Tools" is referred to earlier in this thread. My understanding is that in addition to SAP and BW we just need Crystal Reports 2008 and the SAP integration kit.
We are on ECC6 and BW 3.5.
I hope someone can help.

Thanks for your response. I finally got this working. My issue was that I originally used the Crystal Reports 2008 and BOBJ Int Kit downloads from the SAP support portal. I checked with another SDN user Steven Dierick - thanks Steven - for the version of Crystal Reports 2008 he was using (version 12.0.0.683).
I downloaded Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.0.0.683 and the BOBJ Int Kit from the downloads section of sdn and it works!! SAP Toolbar, datasources and everything.
Considering I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 SP0 are there any disadvantages of not using Crystal Reports 2008 SP1?
If I'm better off using SP1 where should I download Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 and the appropriate BOBJ SAP Integration Kit?

Reinstallation of Business Content DataSource in SAP R/3

Hi All,
For one of the BCT (busines content) DataSource 2LIS_04_P_MATNR, we notice in our system that the Delta process has been changed from 'ABR' in the delivered version to 'D' in the active version due to which we are not able to have delta loads from this DataSource into an ODS.
We would like to change this back to the BCT delivered version, i.e. revert to the delta process 'ABR'. After we compare the active version with the delivered version in RSA5 the only difference is in the delta process and some field descriptions. Does anyone have any information on:
1. How we can reinstall the BCT provided DataSource?
2. How much time would this take?
3. Would it impact the current delta process whereby this DataSource is feeding various InfoCubes?
4. Would we need a reinitalization of delta for the current InfoCubes that this DataSource is feeding?

I was looking through many documents in search of answers to my questions so I do not remember which one I had looked at.
But, I guess I understood what I read incorrectly. I now manually changed the ROOSOURCE setting for delta process in the development system to 'D' (here the active and delivered version were 'ABR') and then did a 'Transfer DataSource', it changed the ROOSOURCE entry back to ABR!
So I guess you were right, I will go ahead with this approach.

BTW, how does one uninstall the BCT DataSource in SAP R/3?

Dear Experts,
Kindly sugest the SAP Note's and SAP Document links on New DataSources for Line Items from FI-GL, FI-AP, FI-AR
for( 0FI_GL_14, 0FI_AR_14, 0FI_AP_14 ). and what is the advantage of using this data sources.
Currently we are using the Data Sources with ( 0FI_GL_4, 0FI_AR_4, 0FI_AP_4 ) and we want to migrate to ( 0FI_GL_14, 0FI_AR_14, 0FI_AP_14 ).
Please sugest in this regard.
