LDAP Change Monitoring Tools

I'm trying to capture what all changes are happening to a SSO Config/Policy Data Store. The requirement is not only knowing the changes but would need to know what exact value changed.
If any changes are made to LDAP Objects, I would like to know
1) What LDAP Object changed
2) What was the value prior to change
3) What is the new value to the object
Does any one know if I can achieve this with any 3rd party tool ? Any suggestions/recommendations will be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
The only way that I can think about it is using the retro changelog plug-in. Many applications that need to know what changes are done in the directory use the changelog. Another alternative is some kind of script that will gather that information from the audit log. This log (if it's enable) track all changes done to the directory.
In any case, the only part that I don't think you will be able to get with any of this method is what was the value prior the change.
Last option could be to write your own plug-in, but that very complex and may not be easy, especially if you are trying to capture the value prior the change.

    Hi asad,
Microsoft SQL Server and the Microsoft Windows operating system provide utilities that allow us to view the current condition of the database and to track performance as conditions change. There are a variety of tools and techniques that
can be used to monitor Microsoft SQL Server Databases.
The following document provides some Performance Monitoring and Tuning Tools:

  • Which Monitoring Tool is best to monitor LAN and WAN

    Hi,
CAN ANYONE TELL ME Which Monitoring Tool is best to monitor LAN and WAN.
    Waiting for immediate response.
    Thanks
    Irshad

To start with HP open, this is SNMP-based as well. As it is around for quite a while and delivers support for many vendors, it has become sort of an industry standard. Many other vendors deliver add-ons (even CiscoWorks) to support their products via HP open. That functionality however comes with a price. If you have plenty of money an a large network to manage, HP open might be your best choice.
Cisco Works and other -start-with-C- products are typically used to manage Cisco devices. If you have a fair share of non-cisco boxes around you will find that you cannot see or do everything with them that you might want.
One special thing about CiscoWorks is that it lacks a grapical real-time overview of the network. In my opinion this is a weakness in the product. On the other hand, it has many nice features to manage all kinds of Cisco devices.
My ideal solution is to use both a generic SNMP manager, SNMPc in my case, and CiscoWorks 2000. With SNMPc I can quickly see network node status and do some bandwidth management (baselining). CW2k serves mainly to execute changes (NetConfig) and as a syslogger. It is also used to perform IOS upgrades and to store config files.
I guess this could be done with HP open as well, but our money does not reach far enough to pay for both. SNMPc costs a lot less, both in purchase and in maintenance.
Hope this clarifies things a bit.

  • Monitoring tool for JVM

    Hi,
Our's is a multithreaded application. Recently in production our application is getting hang and stop running after running for sometime. Later we changed the VM arguments we pass at the time of startup and it is running fine. But the same application is running fine in SIT and UAT with the old VM confiuration. We are using JDK1.4 and running on Sun Solaris5.8. The old and new VM arguments are
    OLD MEM_ARGS:
    -Xms128m -Xmx256m -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -Xss512k
    NEW MEM_ARGS:
    -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintHeapAtGC -Xms128m -Xmx512m -XX:PermSize=32m -XX:NewSize=32m -XX:MaxNewSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -Xss512k
Can anyone suggest any VM monitoring tool to monitor the VM statitics and thread stack of my application/process. Can I use monitoring tools comes with JDK1.5 to monitor JVM of 1.4. If ye, how to use it. Please help me as it is very serious problem in Production.

Is it at all possible to use JDK 1.5? The monitoring tools/APIs both inside and outside the VM are far superior to those in 1.4. We upgraded to 1.5 immediately after it came out solely because of this.
You've made several changes all at once between your old and new vm arguments. Maybe you could try small sets of changes at a time to help narrow down which set is helping you (for example, try only adding the memory size change by itself). If an Error is thrown in your threads, what catches or logs it? Maybe it'll show up wherever stderr is logged.

  • What kind of replication monitoring tools exist ?

The standard replication logs are very poor, I was
wondering if some more detailed replication monitoring tools were existing and can we find them.

I agree, there is a lot of parameters but it would be really useful, in order to be able to monitor all replication,
to display one window showing, f.i, one line per replication agreement (like it's currently working) with status
in columns. Something like a green light if the last update message is "success" or a warning if there is any error. Currently, you have to walk thru all agreements, one by one, to ensure all replications are ok.
From this point of view, 4.x monitoring tool was easier ;-)
In addition, number of changes is useful but the "data version" as used with 4.x was also easier.
Today, I'm not able to say if the different db have the same contetn without running a script...

  • Oracle EPM 11.1.2.1 Monitoring tools

    Gurus,
could you please let me know what are the available system monitoring or performance monitoring tools for oracle EPM 11.1.2.1 or in case licenses are involved what are the best key areas for manual procedures to monitor the system?
    Many thanks !

    Hello,
Monitoring is a broad term. There are many 3rd party tools available that can provide monitoring, it all depends on what exactly you're looking for.
Oracle has a document on setting up Oracle Enterprise Manager to monitor Hyperion Applications: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/sys9-oem-integration-1-129287.pdf. For performance monitoring, you can also look at this: https://blogs.oracle.com/pa/entry/epm_11_1_2_how3. This will basically connect to the JRockit JVM and look at the performance for the web application.
If you want to do more monitoring (services, servers, processor, CPU), you can look into Hyperic HQ: http://www.hyperic.com/. They have both an open source version and an enterprise version. I've used the open source version myself and it is pretty good and plays well with Windows. You can see many metrics, graphics and information via the web based application. You can also setup email alerts on certain activities (service stop, service start) and also monitor website availability. For being an open source software, I think it offers alot and it is very reliable.
Again, these are just a few suggestions. There are many tools out there that can accomplish what you're looking for.
    Regards,
    Luis

  • Please suggest DB monitoring tool

Our DB have some performance issues, I need your suggestions to buy a DB monitoring tool to help us to resolve these problems.
If you can share your experiences on the tool, it will be the best.

    Hi,
We don't have enough knowledge on DB.In that case, beware of tools that make recommendations that you cannot understand . . .
Some advanced monitoring tools can be cryptic for beginners.
Is OEM or Statspack suitable to a beginner? Beware, the OEM diagnostic pack and the OEM performance pack are really expensive, over $6,000 per seat:
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/news_tuning_packs_price.htm
Plus, consider 3rd party tuining tools.
Historically, Oracle tools have had a bad reputation, and Oracle's Oracle Expert tool was widely criticized for making ridiculous tuning recommendations . .
Everybody has a monitoring tool to plug, I even have a few that I wrote myself.
There are a zilllion of them, but they all offer test drives, but try to find:
    - A monitoring tool that makes recommendations in plain English
    - A tool that is reasonably priced
    - A tool from a well-know vendor with a good track record
Lastly, if you are not familiar with Oracle tuning, it may be better and cheaper to buy an Oracle health check.
A guru can find tuning problems in just a few hours, faster and more efficient that using a tuning tool.
    Hope this helps . . .

But from october first week when i load the files in FTP inbox, file has been picking succesfully and can see the logs in sender comm channel  but the i can see that my interface is in holding state in message monitoring tool and its not going to receiver comm channel. I have loaded 5 files and all are in holding state.
even i have cancelled first error message and tried to resend the next message swhich is in holding state, but this is not happening.
    i am using EOIO queue.
when i cancel the error message remaining messages should processed automatically but its not getting processed here.
sequencing of the interface triggering is
    1. Interface_1

  • Monitoring Tool for Monitoring Business Process

    Praj Dixit
If if want just to monitor various technologies, lets say BizTalk, then there are lot of tools available for this. BizTalk 360 and SCOM are two main tools.
similarly if you want to monitor SAP- like availbility of SAP services/URLS/Databases etc, then HP OpenView can be one option.
However, if you just want to make sure your business process ( integrated BizTalk/SAP..etc) are up and running then you could write some Automated Smoke test scripts, which will perform some basic testing and make sure all components are up and running.
    Hope this helps.

  • What is Business Process Monitoring Tool (BPMT)?

    Dear colleagues
There is also a strange tool named Business Process Monitoring Tool (BPMT), provided as an Add-on installation within SAP Netweaver 701 SP06
[Note 1453759 - BPMT 701 Business Process Monitoring Tool: Installation|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1453759]
What is it, and how it is connected with SAP NW BPM?
Any explanation would be much appreciated

    Hi,
this tool is to provide a business process monitoring within the ABAP stack. So you're able to get information about "how many processes of process X have not been finished, yet". This is based on several agents listening to the business process implementations (e.g. SAP Business Workflow) and provides those generated events to a monitoring engine.
As far as I know this component has not been released, yet. I don't know the delivery date (maybe in QII or QIII 2011) --> who know's?
    Cheers

  • Change monitor pop-up menu to "On with feedback protection"

I bought a GarageBand book, Apple Training Series: GarageBand '09, to guide me through the learning curve with GarageBand. In the book it says to "Change monitor pop-up menu to "On with feedback protection"" but my GarageBand does not have this option. I have the latest version, but only three options and none of them are "On with feedback protection". The only "ON" choice I have does not give feedback protection as an option. "There is an OFF with no feedback Protection"
Is it hidden somewhere else? Please advise.

I am asking for an "ON with feedback protection" This is what I want.
you can't always get what you want. this option has changed names in the latest version of GB
    it's now simply "on"

    hai every body ,
from your experience which is the best DB monitoring Tool ...?

or is there any other oracle supplied packages, which satisfies my purpose...?
    please specify to me...

    Hi John,
which is the best DB monitoring Tool ...?For proactive monitoring, you cannot beat STATSPACK, all free . . . .
For reactive monitoring, I like Quest Spotlight and Confio Ignite.
my purpose is to watch the activities(insertion, deletion, updation on which tables?) when an application is working...That not monitoring, that's auditing!
You can use LogMiner for free . . .

  • Best monitoring tool

Well here we are, my application is ready for distribution,
now i would like to know what is the best free monitoring
    tool for a coldfusion server?
I found the metrics data in the coldfusion server, but i
would like to have some more monitoring information for my
    resources, db load etc.
    any ideas?

Regarding performance monitoring on your CF-server, are you
    running a multi-server configuration?
If not, you can use the performance monitoring mechanism
built into CFMX. Simply log into the CF-Administrator, and under
"Debugging Settings", you'll find a checkbox waaaaay down at the
bottom of the page which reads "Enable Performance Monitoring".
Turn that on. What it actually does is tie directly into the
Windows (NT) built-in performance monitor reporting tool.
(This of course assumes you're hosting your CF-server on a
WIndows box - which most people do)
However, if you're running in a multi-server configuration,
this performance monitoring option is no longer available to you I
believe. Bruce Purcell has some good notes on the topic of
performance monitoring on his blog here:
    http://www.bpurcell.org/blog/index.cfm?mode=entry&ENTRY=967
Personally, I've found the JRun Metrics service to be
invaluable. It is one of the only built-in options for performance
monitoring that ColdFusion offers for a multi-server environment as
    far as I know.
Regarding your DB server, that is an entirely different topic
(unrelated to ColdFusion). You should contact your DBMS vendor for
    more information on that.
