LDAP Config File - data source not initialized

Hi,
We have altered our LDAP config xml file to deal with an LDAP with multiple branches. This was done previously and was working fine. We have just changed again as another branch was added. Now if some enters the wrong password on the login screen they get this error message
Unknown message (ID = data source CORP_LDAP_CONSULTANTS not initialized
rather then the usual try again message. Looking in the ume logs there are also lots of warnings about the new data sourse id (CORP_LDAP_CONSULTANTS)not being initialized. And we also can no longer add new groups or users.
Any thoughts?
<b>Think we may have fixed that problem. Wrong authorizations? But now we get a whole new problem. During startup of portal our error_logs get a whole series of messages about NameNotFoundException around groups and users. Looking closely some of the user domains don't even exist in the LDAP any more.
Also when we try and add a user we get an error saying "PersistanceException: No Data Source feels Repsonsible for principal!"</b>

I'm running into exactly the same issue. The problem seems to occur only when the report being accessed by guest is a file data source. The only other option I could think of is setting up SSO for BIP and the application issuing the URL to the report.
Could'nt find anything else in the documentation or known issues list that might fix this without having to setup Single Sign On. Any further luck with your investigation? I'd appreciate any feedback.

Hello everybody,
i'm working with BIP 10.1.3.2.1 on Win2003/Tomcat.
Everytime if i call a report with a file data source directly via url or in the gui via guest login i get the following error message: "File data source not found: <file data source name>".
If i use a login in the gui which have the explizit permision to use this data source then there is no problem. Well at this point u might say then use this account, but - if i call a similar report with a database data source directly via url or guest login in the gui everything works fine. So, where is the point? Any ideas?

File Data Source: does not support any other host except LOCALHOST?

I am using US 1.0.3.
This exercpt is from the OTN iLearn Subscribed course titled "Oracle9i UltraSearch New Features" on operating system file access:
"The file protocol is used only for the machine that launches the crawler. You can not specify any other host for this kind of URL, except LOCALHOST."
Does it mean that US 1.0.3 can not be used to search other file servers on the network? For example, we have US 1.0.3 installed on a server S1 which is on a network with other servers (e.g. S2). I want to use US to search files in the folder myDir on server S2. So I tried to create a file data source with this URL:
file://\\s2\myDir\
But I got this error:
Invalid file protocol URL: file//\\s2\myDir\
Hostname of the file URL "file://\\s2\myDir\ is not "localhost".
My question:
(1) Can US 1.0.3 search files on a different server than the one US is running on?
(2) If so, how to specify the URL using the above example for it to work?
(3) If not, how about the newer version of US, 9.2 or 9.02? Can they be used to search files on other network servers/drives?
(4) If no to question (3), is there any plan to support this in the future version of US?
My comment: Not able to search other servers really limits the userfulness of US. I really hope Oracle will consider adding this capability.

Since I posted my previous question, I have read on the 1.0.3 online help that we can define remote crawlers to crawl "on a remote machine other than the Oracle Ultra Search database". So I assume this is how to make US to search on other servers. In the online documentation it also includes the following paragraph on "Remote Crawler Profiles Page":
"Use this page to view and edit remote crawler profiles. A remote crawler profile consists of all parameters needed to run the Ultra Search crawler on a remote machine other than the Oracle Ultra Search database. A remote crawler profile is identified by the hostname. The profile includes the cache, log, and mail directories that the remote crawler shares with the database machine. "
The Remote Crawler Profiles Page, however, displays only remote crawlers already defined and the page seems to be used just for editing the porfiles of these defined remote crawlers.
My questions:
(1) How do I create the remote crawlers and defines the profiles in the first place?
(2) Where can I find more documentation on remote crawlers?
(3) Once the remote crawlers are set up, how do I specify the file URLs for each remote crawler?
(4) With US9.02 or 9.2, does remote crawler work the same as in 1.0.3, or are there any enhancements?

How to specify inclusion and exclusion rules for File data sources

This is the seed URL for a file data source: file://localhost/c:/myDir/
I want to exclude indexing and searching of files under: file://localhost/c:/myDir/obsolete/
What is the exact format for the exclusion URL?
I have tried both file://localhost/c:/myDir/obsolete/ and /myDir/obsolete/
but neither of it seems to work; it still indexes everything under /myDir/
Should I just put: /obsolete/ as the exclusion URL?
Also after initial crawling, if I change the inclusion and or exclusion rules and then run the crawler again, it should update the indexes accordingly. Is that right?
The version of UltraSearch I am using is 1.0.3.

Try "/c:/myDir/obsolete/"
Changing inclusion/exclusion rule does not affect files already crawled. It onyl
affects next crawling behavior.
To do any DML to existing data set, use SQL directly on wk$url table under the instance owner.

Error when deploying JDBC file data source for J2EE agent in weblogic

we're using ODI 11g and we've installed J2EE agents on weblogic. We need to configure a connection pool within weblogic for a file data source. Thus, we've added snpsFile.jar (that was shipped with ODI 10g...) to the weblogic config so that we can configure a JDBC connection to file.

Some information: I found this website [http://gerardnico.com/doc/odi/webhelp/en/refmanual/connexion/jdbcdriversample.htm] explaining that the 'old' snpsFile.jar driver was deprecated and that a new one was existing... but I can't find it anywhere!
My questions are:
- Can the problem (original problem. See initial post) be due to driver version?
- Does someone know where to find this 'new' driver?

Adding file data sources

is it possible to define folders as file data source within the bi publisher, which are NOT located on the server where the bi publisher is installed?

You'll never see that appear on an .html page. Change it to .asp and see what happens.
However, you have other problems. As far as I know, Access 2007 accdb database are not supported at all in DW. You can still build the site in DW, but you won't be able to use DW server behaviors and will have to code all of your scripts by hand. Or, you can try saving your file as an mdb.
In reality, I've never found that DW server behaviors good get me 100% of what I need on a project - so you'll have to learn ASP/VBScript and SQL anyway.
Also, what is the expected volumn on this site? Access databases do not handle concurrent users well.

Try this:
conf t
service compress-config
And see if that helps.
If not, see if you can tftp the running config off the router and TFTP it back to startup-config:
copy run tftp
copy tftp start
Then you can try a reload and see if it is cured.
I googled and found a few cases where alot of ACLs or NAT rules could cause MALOC errors (you would see those in your logs) when implemented and could manifest itself in this condition, which could be cured after the next reload, which is why I suggested that.
Of course, dont be remote when you do this and only do it during a maintenance window.

Hi ALL,
Suddenly we got this error while running an export via batch utility. any ideas?
Error: DRM-79819: Encryption error: Config file encryption is not valid for this machine.

This could be an issue with your drm-config.xml file, the file that stores the DRM configuration information defined in the DRM Console. If a drm-config.xml was restored from an old backup or copied from another machine, this could well be the issue.
In this case, you can run the DRM Console to update the file and correct it. You may see a one-time error reported when the DRM Console starts up, but the Console app should correct the file automatically after reporting the error to the user.
If this does not resolve your issue, review the Windows App Event Log, to determine which DRM Server process(es) are also reporting this error (to narrow down any other potential issues with a config file for one of the DRM Server executables). I am guessing this error was observed in just the DRM Batch client, but related Event Log should also be present in the App Event Log.
HTH.
*** An additional note, if your issue proves to be the one above, you may need re-enter passwords on your defined Database Connections for defined DRM Apps. Try just re-running the DRM Console and re-saving the config initially, but be aware this may be a required additional step, re-entering the DB passwords after the updated encryption has been applied to the stored drm-config.xml file.

Currently when navigating to Applications/Script Management in UCCX 8.5 I get the following error.

Under Network Services in Cisco Unified CCX Serviceability I notice the following.

Everything was fine when I went home before the Christmas break.
I've tried restarting the CCX Database service but it does not start. I don't want to reboot now as the call center is taking calls just fine. I can reboot tonight.

I've seen this on a couple of 8.x releases, and it recurs regularly on one 8.5 customer. Definately a bug. They're HA, so the primary DB tends to die and then it limps along with primary server doing call processing, and secondary running the DB.
Reboots clear it, I've not had chance to read the 75 pages of resolved caveats for SU4 yet to see if it looks like it's fixed :-)

Urgent: Transport of Flat File Data Source

While transporting flat file data source is it required to transport first in a separate request or everything can go in 1 request.

Hi,
In this case it can go in one request as no replication is needed. But for other datasources, you need to send the datasources first in a separate request and then replicate the datasource in BW before you send the BW changes.

File Data Source Full Path of Top-level Directory

Hi There,
I am trying to create a File Data Source in BI Publisher.
Navigation: Admin --> File
The "Full Path of Top-level Directory" given for the demo_files (which comes with the product) is D:\OraHome_1\xmlp\XMLP\DemoFiles and all the demo reports are working fine.
However our BI Server is a Unix server and above path seems to be on windows server.
Please explain about this and how to locate the above path and place a new xml file.

if you are thinking of creating xml file in linux, and access in windows, you have to share the windows drive and mount them in linux.
so talk to you sysadmin, how to access windows folder in linux.

I think, u can't bind the system table system columns to the column of the matrix in the form which is bound to the same table.(though, m not sure on this.) service call is by default bound to OSCL. If u try creating a user defined column in OSCL and then bind it, it works. but, if CallId is already bound on form, and u r bnding it one more time, it will give you error.

Flat file data Source creation in BI7

Hi ,
I am trying to create flat file data source in BI7 to load master data.
Aftre i enter all the details,while activating its giving me error like this
Runtime Errors DATA_LENGTH_NEGATIVE
Except. CX_SY_RANGE_OUT_OF_BOUNDS
Can anyone suggest me abt this.

Hi,
In the datasource def go to the fields tab. Here check the values for the length og the field.
Check whether all the values are within 60

Report using excel sheet as data source not working when deployed to production.

I have a set of SSRS reports that use an excel sheet as a datasource.
Now when I preview the reports or run them in the Visual Studio IDE on my local machine i.e
the development machine, the reports run fine & display all correct results.
However, when we deploy the reports to the Production machine which is on a separate server,
the following error message is displayed :
"The current action cannot be completed. The user data source credentials do not meet the requirements to run this report. Either the user data source credentials are not stored in the report server database, or the user data source is configured not to
require credentials but the unattended execution account is not specified. (rsInvalidDataSourceCredentialSetting)"
I've copy pasted the connection string used for connecting to the excel file as reference :
Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=C:\MyFolder\CurrentFile.xlsx;Extended Properties="Excel 12.0;HDR=Yes;";
The excel file has also been uploaded to the machine housing the reporting server (i.e to C:\MyFolder location)

From the error message, please try to change the setting of Credential type for the data source on report manager as follows:
Go to the Data Sources properties page.
For the Connect Using option, select Credentials stored securely in the report server.
In User Name and Password, type credentials that can be used to access the database. If you are using SQL Server as the data source, the user name must be valid for both logging on to the server and for accessing the database that contains the data for
the report.
If the user name and password are credentials for a Windows account, select Use as Windows Credentials.
If you want the report server to pass the credentials of the user accessing the report to the server hosting the external data source, click Windows Integrated Security. In this case, the user is not prompted to type a user name or password.

Flat file data sources info pack executing for long time with yellow

I can see flat file all records 140 in above screen but i could not see data in PSA . when i am trying to see the PSA it show not data .
I have tries to make status to green but still request not process to Data target .

HI,
When you see message like there is no psa mean data source was not in active.
so activate your data source Thru by using SE38 - RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL(bw 7.x).
After the activation you can try to load data.before that make your yellow request to red status and delete it.
later reload the same flat file.
