LDAP field mappings

Hello.
I have connected my 10.6.x address book to an LDAP server which is working nicely. Only issue is the fact that telephone numbers that are marked as 'home' in the ldap server are being displayed as 'work' in Address Book. How are fields mapped between LDAP and Address Book, and can I somehow change a setting that would make Address Book correctly display the telephone numbers as HOME not WORK?
Thanks
Chris.

Do you directory lookup work at all?  Or is it just the thumbnails that do not display?
what happens if you connect to EDI using port 3268  (set in the LDAP server configuration in CUPS?)

  • LDAP Field Mapping in 4.6C - Using WebAS 6.10+ as an LDAP Gateway

    Dear All,
We have a need to enable CUP Functionality (we use GRC AC 5.3) for one of our oldest R/3 systems - on 4.6C. All other R/3 backends are on 4.7+ releases, so it's a multiple backend configuration for GRC AC.
However, LDAP Field Mapping functionality is missing in 4.6C. It was enabled through LDAPMAP in the higher releases only.
At the same time, I discovered in one SAP HR document a diagram, which shows that indeed 4.7+ can map and post data directly to LDAP, but for 4.6C and below you can use WebAS 6.10+ as an LDAP Gateway. Meaning that 4.6C calls through RFC some functions in the higher release R/3 system to use its functions for Field Mapping and further transfer of user data to the target LDAP server.
But... I can not find anywhere how to configure 4.7 / 6.0 servers to act as an LDAP Gateway for the older 4.6C server to bypass its limitation - absence of built-in LDAP Field Mapping functionality.
Advice on how to realise this concept will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Laziz

    Hi,
In order to migrate users, groups and password you have to use the command ldapaddent as you did with this sintax:
    # ldapaddent -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w secret -f /etc/group group
    # ldapaddent -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w secret -f /etc/passwd passwd
    # ldapaddent -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w secret -f /etc/shadow shadowNote that you must use passwd instead of people container.
I suggest you to check this article from BigAdmin http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/features/articles/nis_ldap_part1.jsp

  • OAM 11gR2 Authentication using username/password/additional ldap field

I want to add additional credential parameter along with username and password to be validated against LDAP.
Is there any out of the box solution for authentication using username/password/additional ldap field in OAM 11gR2?
This solutions exist in 10g and could not find any OOB feature in 11g.

Do you need to accept additional parameter from user via login form & then use it in credential mapping step
Not sure if %% syntax would work .. havent tried it. next option is to develop custom authentication plugin
Additional ldap attribute against static value
If you need to add additional ldap attribute (check against static value) that you can specify in LDAP search filter in "User Identification plugin" configuration
Take a look at "MTLDAPPlugin" under custom authentication modules
    Hope this helps

  • Searching field mappings in 2004s

In 3.x, if you brought wanted to search to see what datasource fields had been mapped to which infoObjects as they are brought into BW, you could search in table RSOSFIELDMAP.
This was a great way to get a good guess as to which infoObject you need to map a newly brought in field in an infoSource.
Is there an equivalent table that shows the mappings of fields to infoObjects using transformations in 2004s?  In looking through RSTRAN* tables, I am not hopeful - it looks like the mappings are now maintained in a less obvious way.

You can also check the field mappings in table ROOSFIELD in R/3 , though it will not show you corresponding datasource, but it will show you field and its corresponding infoobject.
For us table RSOSFIELDMAP works fine in BI as well, though not sure its because as we did migration of objects from update rules/transfer rules.

"The reason is due to bad print when having a view is shaded" Could you please explain?
What are you planning to resolve? Which format has the printing issue?
What other print options you want to use in addition to the forcetoblack?
Please provide samples and steps to reproduce the problem. Thx

  • CUP: Mapping LDAP field to CUP Accounting Number field

    Hello CUP Experts,
I have encountered a problem with the LDAP field mapping that I simply can't figure out on my own.
We have a field named employeeNumber in our LDAP system, I want that employeeNumber to end up in the CUP field named Accounting Number and eventually hoping that this data will end up in the corresponding Accounting Number field in the back-end user master field.
    - This Accounting Number field is visible in the back-end system in SU01D on the Logon data tab in section Other Data.
In the LDAP Mapping I have mapped a CUP field named ACCOUNTNR to the LDAP employeeNumber under additional fields.
Is the CUP field named something else than ACCOUNTNR in CUP?
Does anyone know of a solution to this problem or a similar problem?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Stefan!
Which issue exactly are you trying to solve:
    1. The LDAP field goes into the CUP request, but not into SU01
    2. The LDAP field does not even show up in CUP
    1) can be solved by maintaining Configuration - Field Mapping - Provisioning
    2) should work as you did it, alternatively you might be able to use a custom field (CAREFUL! once you use a custome field you'll never get it out of CUP again!)
    Kind regards,
    Frank.

  • Database Changes and Field Mappings

My company has updated our databases from Oracle to SQL.  I'm now having issues with Field Mappings because some of the old tables are not the same in the new database.
    For example:
Old Table: CM3RM1, Old Field: FH_OUTAGE_REQUIRED
                                            is now
New Table:  CM3RM2, Old Field: FH_OUTAGE_REQUIRED
When I try to map the fields in the Map Fields dialog box in Crystal Reports 2008, it looks for the same table name in the new database so I'm not able to map all of the fields.
Any suggestions on how to get the Map Fields dialog box to display multiple tables or a different method to convert these tables.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    - RJ

I have gone through this proccess several times due to database upgrades and the worst was oracle to sql. Database mapping did not work for that one at all.
I know you do not want to hear this but I added all the new tables to the report, replaced the fields & modified formulas, and then remove the old tables from the report, and in some cases I re-wrote the report from scratch.

  • DM Outlook sync field mappings?

    1) Anyone have a lits of what fields actually sync? Advanced > Field Mapping shows the fields I need but they don't sem to sync. it may be because in some cases the fields aren't used by the native app (ex Start Date shows in the field mappings as mappred from device to Outlook, but it doesn't come across and when you add a Task the field doesn't even shown up.).
    Using a Torch 9860, DM 6.1.0.36 and Outlook 2003.
    TIA - R.

    Hi,
This may be a limitation on phone side
The standard 'Telephone' field on a S40 device will be synchronised to the 'Other' number field in Outlook.
If you whish to change this then you can select 'Change Type' from the menu option on the device, and choose either 'Home' or 'Work' telephones, this will then be synchronised to the 'Home' or 'Work' number field in Outlook.
Please let me know if it helped you

  • ARQ: User details fields mappings problem in Access Request

    Dear All,
My "User Search Data Sources" are: HR system and LDAP (in this order) and
"User Details Data Sources" are: HR system, LDAP, GRC Production system and ERP Development system (in this order)
I could search for the users in HR and LDAP systems correctly. However, the problems I am facing are:
    1. For some users, First Name, Last Name and Email id fields are not getting mapped. Though they are correctly shown in search screen of ARQ. This
behavior is sporadic and not sure why this is not mapped for some of the users only. But for other users, they are getting mapped correclty!
    2. For some other users selected users from the search result, First Name, Last Name and Email id fields are correctly mapped. However, "Manager" field is empty and not mapped! Though they are correctly maintained in HR system.
Any idea why this is behaving like this and how to solve this?
    Please advise.
    REgards,
    Faisal

    Hi,
    I could figure out something.
I have below hierarchy in Active Directory:
    1. OU=Unit1,OU=ABC,DC=123,DC=COM
    2. OU=Unit2, OU=XYZ,DC123,DC=COM
Unit1 and Unit2 are peers, fall under DC "123" and contain different sub-nodes and users. What is happening is that, if a user and his manager are from same OU (Unit1 for example), it is pulled appropriately.
In case if a user is in Unit1 and manager is in Unit2, then in this case, manager first and last name is pulled and Manager id field is not filled.
I could only maintain one of the above entries in LDAP tcode. I dont know how I can maintain peer-OUs in LDAP!
    When I maintained like this:
    OU=Unit1,OU=ABC,DC=123,DC=COM;OU=Unit2, OU=XYZ,DC123,DC=COM
It give me error: "Entry does not exist".
It is looking for only one node at at time but can not traverse in multiple peer nodes.
CAn anyone suggest me on this?
    Regards,
    Faisal

  • Binary Ldap field doesn't return an byte[]

    Dear experts
I use JNDI to get information from a Siemens DirX Ldap Directory. Two of the fields I get are jpeg images. One of them is the standard jpegPhoto binary fields and the second is a user-defined binary field based on the same Syntax definition.
When I do a "attribute.get()" (attribute is an instance of javax.naming.directory.Attribute) on the jpegPhoto field, I get a "byte[]" as result. When I do the same thing on the other user-defined field, I get an empty String.
Using a non-java based LDap client works fine. Only Jndi based client causes the problem.
Could anybody help me, please ?
    Thanks in advance
    Christophe Bongartz

I know this is not an Active Directory question, but the sun is shining and I'm in a good mood....
Java returns some attributes that it knows to be of binary syntax as byte[], but returns all other unknown attributes as strings.
Refer to http://java.sun.com/products/jndi/tutorial/ldap/misc/attrs.html for further information.
Add the following to your app.//specify attributes to be returned in binary format
    env.put("java.naming.ldap.attributes.binary","yourBinaryAttributeHere");Good luck.

  • Problem using a group which has a space in it's DN when using LDAP Group mappings in UCS 1.4

    Hey,
We've been implementing LDAP authentication (Active Directory) using LDAP group mapping in UCS 1.4, and we've noticed that when using a group which has a DN with a space in it (such as "UCS Admins") it wouldn't authenticate the user with the appropriate role.
Using a DN without spaces (such as "UCSAdmins"), works just fine.
I should mention that having a base DN with spaces works just fine as well, it's just the group mappings that doesn't work.
I should also mention that Cisco's "Quick guide to configuring ldap for ucs 1.4" shows an example in which the group's DN doesn't include a space.
Is there a workaround available which can make it possible using a group which has a space in it's name?
    Thanks,
    Dor

    Hey Roman,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
We've tried putting quotes using UCSM which is not possible at all - not for the entire entry nor for the part with spaces.
We've also tried using CLI ("scope security/ldap/ldap-group") where you have to put quotes if you use a DN with spaces, and it still doesn't work. Furthermore, we tried adding quotes only to the part with the spaces, i.e. - CN="UCS Admins",OU=TEST,DC=TEST. It adds the entry without an error, but shows like we would use "CN=UCS Admins,OU=TEST,DC=TEST". Anyway, it doesn't work either.
    Thanks again,
    Dor

  • TMs Provisioning AD Field Mappings & import problem?

    I've deployed TMS 14.6.1 & TMSPE v1.4.
In TMS > Admin Tools > Provisioning I've adjusted "AD Filed Mappings for New User Imports" the file "Office Phone" to "ipPhone".
when I import users and I check for a imported user (Toggele Details) the Office Phone is still mapped to "telephoneNumber"...
    Is this a known problem?
    rgds, Geert.

I did a test and swapped the the "telephoneNumber" and "mobile" fields, and after I restarted the PE service and did another user import, the fields were swapped in the user's profile.  It didn't update any users right away, it was when I re-saved the AD configuration and performed another import, that it updated all the users with the changed fields.

  • ActiveSync Outlook to iPhone contacts field mappings

With the iPhone 2.0 release, is the mapping of the contact fields between Outlook and iPhone when using over-the-air ActiveSync published anywhere?
It feels to me that the mappings are different for over-the-air ActiveSync versus in the old way of syncing via iTunes.
For example, I can not find any "Other Phone" field any longer on the iPhone. The iPhone 1.x releases had this field.

Here is what we have found through testing. The following lists the names displayed in Outlook 2007 and the corresponding name on the iPhone running 2.0.1. We did not find that any fields from Outoll overwrote any other field on the iPhone, even though the field might have a duplicate name, like "work" and "home". In the case of the Home and Home 2 numbers in Outlook, we ended up with two (2) "home" entries on the iPhone. If there is only a "-" under iPhone it is because it did not sync:

  • Custom field mappings in query

    Hello
In our classes we use GregorianCalendar for date representation.
Therefore I wrote a ColumnFieldMapping class for mapping of
    GregorianCalendar to SQL_DATE.
(I used the SQLDateMapping class as example).
The storing and retrieving works without problems.
Just, when I want to query for a specific date, I have to pass a
    java.util.Date object as parameter:
    String filter = "_dateOfSample >= startDate";
    Query query = pm.newQuery(Sample.class, filter);
    query.declareParameters("java.util.Date startDate");
    Java.util.date startDate = ...
    Collection samples = (Collection)query.execute(startDate);
Although, this works fine, I think, that the caller of the query shouldn't
have to know, the DB "internal" representation of a field.
Is there a way, that the parameter is also transformed by the mapping class?
    Thanx for any help
    -- Pat

    Hi Patrick
    Thanx for your reply.
What happens if you pass a GregorianCalendar parameter to the query?kodo.util.UserException: The specified parameter of type "class
java.util.GregorianCalendar" is not a valid query parameter.
Also, are you overriding the getDataStoreValue() method in your mapping? No.
I just adapted the SQLDateMapping example.
Now, I've rewritten the mapping class based on IsMaleMapping and everything
    works fine.
    And it's even easier.
    Thanx for your help

  • Having problems  performing field mappings

    Hi Experts...
I am trying map  werks field to another field of the same type .
However we are suppose to map the last two characters of source work field.
The source incoming data for werk can have 2 ,3 or 4 characters.
I have tried various combinations of if ....if without else ...length ...text functions
    but they are not working.
can somebody tell me how to go about it using standard functions available .
    Regards,
    deepak

    Hi Deepak -
Much easier with a very simple User Defined function (UDF).  Just create a simple UDF with one input parameter (call it 'a' which is default) and just put in the following and save:
       <i>return a.substring(a.length() - 2, a.length());</i>
