LDAP: QueryAD_Default timed out message help!

Hi
Since a power down over the weekend our C160 which is running version 7.0.1-010 our Ironport device is reporting alerts:
We are getting the message:
LDAP: query AD_Default.accept result inquiry timed out
Can anyone help what could be wrong?

You have likely lost connectivity to your AD server. I would first recommend enabling the LDAP debug logs so you can obtain more data. In addition you may want to try to test connectivity from your appliance via the CLI using telnet. You can then telnet to the AD server on the specified port 389, or 3268. Generally this is an issue with either connectivity or DNS. If the look up fails when you try to telnet using the hostname try the IP. If the IP works and the host name does not then this likely a DNS issue.

An important feature within the IronPort C-Series appliance is its  logging capabilities. AsyncOS can generate many types of logs, recording  varying types of information. Log files contain the records of regular  operations and exceptions from various components of the system. This  information can be valuable when monitoring your IronPort C-Series  appliance as well as when troubleshooting or checking performance.
Logs can be configured and created  through the IronPort CLI   using the logconfig command or via the GUI. See the link below for configurng logs via the GUI.
Below is an example  of creating a LDAP debug log subscription using the CLI:.

    Of course, after he'd tried to reset it, I found the original password.  But that now doesn't work and we can't reset the password.  We can't even "find" the ID.  We keep getting a timed out message, no matter what we try.  Since he has no working Apple ID, I'm using mine to ask this question.  Possibly relevant - he is NOT a big app user.  I set up the account for him when he first got his iPhone a couple of years ago and he has only a few apps installed.  So the card details may have expired but, of course, he can't update them either.  He recently updated to the latest IOS (6.1.3) and it was when finishing the installation that he ran into the problems with forgetting his password.
    Short of creating a new ID, does anyone have any bright ideas?

    Try a powered external USB hub.  It uses a 120V AC wall jack to power USB devices, and the Mac only needs to provide *just enough* to comminucate.  Best Buy, Target, Walmart, ... about $20.

    Hi All,
    In our implementation, we are using Sun Access Manager 7.0 Patch 6. We noticed that sometimes when we enter invalid credentials, we receive "Authentication Failed" message which we understand is a correct behavior. But sometimes instead of "Authentication Failed", we get "Your session has timed out" message even though we did not go over the module timeout of 2 minutes(i.e. default timeout value in SUN Access Manager).
    Is this a known anomaly? Did anybody else have seen this kind of behavior?

    Wi-Fi disconnects or signal strength is less than expected
    Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).

    The Huntress is correct, I have missed that you have an iPhone 3G
    Usually iTunes will tell you in that case, that iOS 4.2.1 the newest version for your phone.
    If you don't have an iPhone 3G, network connections timing out can be a security software problem:

    I had similar problem. My old Mac (also OS X (10.4.11) was out of sync. The reset clock strategy I read about elsewhere did not work for me. But, selecting Manage > Change Country (at the bottom of itunes window) and selecting (reselecting?) my country did correct the problem.
