LDAP UID and local UID different

I have a 10.5 server running LDAP with a master and a replica. In the LDAP i have a user who was deleted and the readded to the LDAP to correct an issue. Now on the replica that users LDAP id and her id from the command line command id are different which is preventing her from syncing. I have tried to remove and readd her again but I can not get the local id to go away. There is no user id for this user in any of the local files or databases that I can find.
How do I delete the user so the command line command ID does not see her so I can create her account with the correct user id??

Hi Wajid,
I've done this by making the APEX ID a copy of the LDAP ID - then the APEX IDs are put in APEX Groups, which feed the Authorization Schemes that grant access to regions/tabs/fields, etc.
I no longer manage passwords, but the Apex Group still recognizes the :APP_USER.
Let me know if this doesn't make sense, or I need to get more detailed.

  • Different Aquisition Value (APC) for group and local depreciation area?

    Hello,
Is it possible to have different APC/acquisition value in your group and local depreciation area? We want to book the net book value as APC for local depreciation area while gross APC and accumulated depreciation are recorded in group depreciation area.
    Group Depreciation Area
    APC- 100
    Accum Dep- 20
    Local Depreciation Area
    APC-80
I'd highly appreciate if you can give inputs.

    Hi,
You did exactly whats required to acheive your requirement.
There is no more further implications by removing the tick for a while and reverting after go live.
While doing AS91, if you enter the APC value for 01 area, then that value will be automatically populated to the other dependent areas of 01 area. ( In case, if your other areas are in diff currency also, system will converts the 01 area value in to other area's curr by taking the exch rate).
Here you can still change the APC values for the all other areas. (The other areas should have been unticked for Identical APC value check box in OABC).
So while creating AS91, in tkaover values tab, enter APC value 80 in your 01 area and manually change the value in your group area. (REmove 80 and enter 100).
For accum dep, in takeover values tab, enter accum dep 20 in group area only. (like OABC, in OABD also the other areas should be unticked for the identical value check box).
    This will resolve your issue.
    Thanks,

  • EDSPermissionError(-14120) problems with LDAP, SSL and Directory Utility

    Hello everyone,
Apologies for the repost but I think I may have made a mistake by posting this originally in the Installation, Setup and Migration forum instead of the Open Directory forum. At least I think that may be why I didn't receive any responses.
Anyway, I've been trying to get my head around Open Directory and SSL as they are implemented in Mac OS X Server 10.5 Leopard, and have been having a few issues. I would like to set up a secure internal infrastructure based around a local Certificate Authority that signs certificates for other internal services like LDAP, email, websites, etc.
I only have one Mac OS X Server and it is kind of a small office so I have gone against best practice and simply made it a CA (through Keychain Utility). I then generated a self-signed SSL certificate through Server Admin, and used the "Generate CSR" option to create a Certificate Signing Request. This went fine, but I did have some problems signing it with the CA, because the server documentation suggested that once I signed it it would pop open a Mail message containing the ASCII version of the signed certificate - it did not, and it took me a loooong time to realize that I could simply export the copy of the signed certificate it put in my local Keychain on the server as a PEM file and paste this back into the "Add Signed or Renewed Certificate from Certificate Authority" dialog box in Server Admin. Hopefully this can be fixed in a forthcoming patch, but I thought I would mention it here in case anyone else is stuck on this issue.
Once I did this I was able to use this certificate in the web server on the same machine and sure enough I was able to connect to it with with clients who had installed the CA certificate in their system Keychains without getting any error messages - very cool.
However, I haven't had quite as much luck getting it going with LDAP/Open Directory. I installed the certificate there as well, but have run into a number of problems. At first I could not get clients (also running 10.5.2) to talk to the server at all over SSL, receiving an error in Directory Utility that the server did not support SSL. I eventually discovered that the problem seemed to lie in the fact that the OpenLDAP implementation on Leopard is not tied in with the system Keychain, necessitating some command-line voodoo to install a copy of the CA cert in a local directory and point /etc/openldap/ldap.conf at it, as documented here: http://www.afp548.com/article.php?story=20071203011158936
This allowed me to do an ldapsearch command over SSL, and seemingly turn SSL on on clients that were previously bound to the directory, and additionally allowed me to run Directory Utility on new clients and put in the server name with the SSL box checked and begin to go through the process of binding. Once this seemed to work, I turned off all plaintext LDAP communication and locked down the service by checking the "Enable authenticated directory binding," "Require authenticated binding," "Disable clear text passwords," and "Encrypt all packets" options in Server Admin. However, I am now running into a new problem, specifically that I cannot successfully bind a local account to a directory account over SSL.
    Here's what happens:
    1) I run Directory Utility, (or it auto-runs) and add a server, typing in the DNS name and clicking the SSL box.
    2) I get asked to authenticate, and type in user credentials, including computer name (incidentally, should this be a FQDN or just a hostname?)
    3) Provided I put admin credentials in here and not user-level credentials, I get taken to the "Do you want to set up Mail, VPN, etc.?" box that normally appears when you autodiscover or connect to an Open Directory server.
    4) I click through, and am asked for a username and password on the server, as well as the password for my local account.
    5) When I put this information in, I get a popup with the dreaded "eDSPermissionError(-14120)" and it fails.
Checking the logs in Server Admin reveals nothing special, and while I have seen a couple other threads on this error and various other binding problems:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5967023
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=5982070
these have not solved the problem. In the Open Directory user name field I am putting the short username. I have tried putting [email protected] and the user's longname but this fails by saying the account does not exist. For some reason it does seem to work if I bind it to the initial admin account I created, but no other user accounts.
If I turn all the encryption stuff off I am able to join just fine, so I am suspecting that the error may lie in some other "under the hood" piece of software that doesn't get the CA trust settings from the Keychain or the ldap.conf file, but I'm stymied as to which piece of software this might be. Does anyone have any clues on what I might be able to do here?
    Thanks,
    Andrew

Hard to tell what is happening without looking at the application
source, knowing what OS & hardware you're using etc. You might want to
try running with different JVM versions to see if it's actually the VM
that is the problem. If you have a support contract with BEA you could
ask support to help you diagnose this.

    Hi Ariel,
The driver is bundled with the product in WLS 6.1sp1. you don't have to
download any additional driver. Use it as you normally would only thing to
remember is if you are trying to write standalone java code then you have to
have weblogic.jar in your classpath. For the rest of the info follow the wls

  • Retrieve all user id's from LDAP directory and populate in Oracle table.

    Guys,
We've implemented LDAP authentication functionality in our application using Oracle's dbms_ldap package objects.
Now,Is there any way that I can retrieve all user ids from the LDAP directory and store in an Oracle table?
The distinguished name of authorized user as it appears in our LDAP directory is below:
    dn=uid=ab0472,ou=people,ou=xyz,o=world.
Now I need to fetch all users uid's from the LDAP directory and populate in an Oracle table. Can somone help me with thoughts.

Have a look at attachments API, since this also does the same thing except that it puts the file in fnd_lobs instead of the custom table.

  • 0COMP_CODE Local currency different than 0COMPANY currency

    Hello guys,
We are implementing BCS for our client and the scenario for the same is as follows:
We are using ECC 6.0, BW 3.5 with SEM 4.0., we have activated New GL Accounting in ECC 6.0. and have been able to bring in data from totals table FAGLFLEXT into BW.
Now we need to bring in the data from BW to BCS cubes using the load from data stream method. We needed to bring all the three currency types (transaction, group and local) into the SEM BCS cube (0BCS_C10), so we have added all the 3 currencies in the data basis roles.
When we run the load from data stream method, we get the following error for some items:
Error message UCD1 032 (Local currency of company X is not correct).
This message occurs for the company codes (0COMP_CODE) which not have the same currency as their related Company (0COMPANY).
Could you please help us solving this "issue" ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Regards,
    Pascal MORIZUR

    Pascal,
IMHO, the situation is a bit different.
AFAIU, It doesn't matter which local currency is set for 0COMP_CODE in ECC.
The BCS totals cube has three key figures for currencies. Each KF has attached to it a currency key. In your case this key doesn't correspond to local currency set for 0COMPANY.
    This causes the error.
If I were you, I'd try to replace incoming local currency key by the proper currency key. The particular solution may depend on your details. Try to add an attribute of currency to 0COMP_CODE and to MOVE this attribute to local currency in mapping.
Very straight forward but not flexible is to use a CONSTANT in mapping (if all the companies have the same local currency). If not - use also a condition which will determine for which company code which local currency to apply.

  • How do I share photos and music between different user accounts on the same macbook

How do I share photos and music between different user accounts on the same Macbook? i.e. I want all to be able to access family photos when logged into their respective accounts. Same goes for the iTunes library. Hope this is possible...
    Thanks!

To give other users read-only access to your iTunes library, use the Sharing features of iTunes. Sharing works over the local network as well as on the same computer. See the built-in help for details.
To give others selective access to your iPhoto library, you have the option of using iCloud Photo Sharing, if the privacy implications don't bother you. The images will be stored temporarily on Apple servers.
If you want to give full read/write access to more than one user, see the support articles linked below.
iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single computer
iPhoto: Sharing libraries among multiple users
There is a way to share the library without moving it to a secondary volume. If you really need to do that, ask for instructions.

  • Transparent Tunneling and Local Lan Access via VPN Client

Remote users using Cisco VPN 4.2 connect successfully to a Cisco Pix 515 (ver. 6.3). The client is configured to allow Transparent Tunneling and Local Lan access, but once connected to the Pix, these two options are disabled. What configuration changes are required on the Pix to enable these options? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
    Mike Bowyer

    Hi Mike,
"Transparent Tunneling" and "Local Lan Access" are two different things. "Transparent Tunneling" is dealing with establishing an IPSec Tunnel even if a NAT device is between your client and the VPN-Headend-Device. "Local LAN Access" is dealing with access to devices in the LAN your VPN-Client-Device is connected to.
What do you mean exactly with "disabled once the connection is made" ?
You can check the local LAN Access by having a look at the Route-Table of the VPN-Client:
Right Click the yellow VPN-lock Icon in System-Tray while the VPN-Connection is active and select "Statistics ...". Have a look at the second register page "route details".
Are any local LAN routes displayed when your are connected ?
And - always remember two important restrictions the Online Help of the VPN-Client is mentioning:
1: This feature works only on one NIC card, the same NIC card as the tunnel.
2: While connected, you cannot print or browse the local LAN by name; when disconnected, you can print and browse by name.
    Carsten
PS: Removing Split Tunnel won't enable local LAN access as all traffic would be sent into the IPSec tunnel.

  • Connect LDAP service to local domain

Is there anyone who can tell me if it's possible to connect form the LDAP service to a local domain?
I have made a new local domain with some groups and users in the Domain management in LC ES admin module.
Now I want to retrieve those users to my prcess in workbench with the LDAP service, but I can't get it to connect to the new domain (it works fine when I connect to our company AD).
I have tried with Base DN: DC=NewDomain,DC=local and Search filter: cn=* but with no luck :-(
Is it possible to connect to the local domaim from the LDAP service if it is, what should the "Base DN" look like and what are the atributes to use in the search filter?
    Thanks
    Søren

I think you are getting a few things mixed up.
When you create the users in a local domain, you're in fact creating them in the LiveCycle database. Not in a LDAP system. LiveCycle NEVER writes to an LDAP system. It only reads from it.
When LC integrates with an LDAP system (like when you create an enterprise domain in adminui), it connects to an external LDAP system and sychronizes with it. I also adds a copy of the users in its database.
The LDAP service does the same thing is the sense that it just connects to a external LDAP system to get a list of users.
If you want to query the users from the livecycle database you can use the User Lookup service (under Foundation) instead.

Can anuone please help on this.

    Hi,
For three line item conversion are right but for one line item conversion is not appearing correct?
If  GR posted for all line items, then check to compare GR posting date for three line items and GR posting date of 4th  line item which cause your concern. May be difference of posting date where different conversion factor maintained(OB08) based on validity period which causing different conversion during GR posting for 4th line item!

  • Can external users change their language, time zone, and locale settings?

    Hi,
We’re migrating our hosts from WebEx cloud to our on-prem solution right now (CWMS 1.5.1.323.A).
We’ve learned that CWMS 1.5 does not provide an online address book where hosts could customize language, time zone, and locale settings for their external attendees.
Do external users have any chance at all to change their language, time zone and locale settings individually?
    Thank you,
    Helge

    Hi Dejan,
"external users" are those participants, who do not have an LDAP account in our deployment, since they are not intendet to act as hosts: our stakeholders, partners, customers, clients.
It looks, as if these people would stick to the systems' default language / time zone / locale.
We are wondering if there might be a CWMS-component like this:
    https://artcom.webex.com/cmp0307l/webcomponents/widget/preference.do?serviceType=MC&siteurl=artcom&target=Page&backUrl=%2Fmw0307l%2Fmywebex%2Fdefault.do%3Fsiteurl%3Dartcom%26service%3D1
to allow those "extenal" participants to make their adjustments.

I see in the BCS  T Curency as Euro and Local currency as Euro .
but the period values localy currency is different from Transaction currency .
I think the values should be the same if both T Currecny and Local Currency is same .
I also observed that this particular difference is happening only for 2 particular set of accounts . Those accounts are related to Intercompany related G L Accounts values .
I also observed that in the Break down category for these G L Accounts The break down structure category has defined as defaulted .

    Hi
You need to do the following
    In 11i
    1. You need to set up Reporting Set of Books to get the transactions and reports in Reporting currency for Local Currency, Functional Currency.
    2. If your Functional Currency is USD, Reporting Currency is EUR and Local Currency is AED, then you need to set Main SOB in USD and Reporting SOB in EUR and AED.
    In R12
    1. You can set Reporting currency if you need the transactions and reports in Reporting currency provided Chart of Accounts, Calendar and Convention is same.
If your Functional Currency is USD, Reporting Currency is EUR and Local Currency is AED, then you need to set Main SOB in USD and Reporting SOB in EUR and AED.
    2. If the requirement is not only currency but you need for a different Calendar or COA or Accounting convention, then you need to set a Secondary Ledger
    Hope this helps

  • LDAP Users and Groups

    Hi,
    <p>
I have configured an LDAP Authenticator for an external LDAP directory in the security realm of the samples portal. User Management is working, but when I try to access the Group Management for the LDAP Authenticator I get the following error:
    </p>
<i>com.bea.p13n.usermgmt.hierarchy.TreeNotBuiltException: State: UNINITIALIZED. Tree is uninitialized. Add provider GAAD to list of providers to build. Tree is uninitialized. Add provider GAAD to list of providers to build.
    </i>
    <p>
It seems that this needs to be setup. How do I do this?
    </p>
    <p>
    Some general notes on LDAP:
    </p><p>
I think that in a production environment it is of great value to manage users and groups in a LDAP directory. For instance we have a company directory which contains all users. It seems that users from LDAP can not been added to groups which are in the DB. LDAP also has the advantage of supporting dynamic groups.
As in previous weblogic releases the LDAP authenticator is read only. It would be great if the write functionality could be added as well. Actually managing LDAP users and groups in one place would be a tremendous improvement for us.
    </p><p>
Another thing on my wishlist are examples for delegated administration and visitor entitlements. For the sample portal these are empty. But I think it would be nice to have some out of the box examples that show what is possible and help developers and business analysts to understand the concepts and create their own roles.
    </p><p>
It would be interesting to read what Bea and other developer think about this.
    </p><p>
    Kind regards,
    <p>

  • Diff bet central processing and local operations in decentralized WMS

    Hi Gurus,
Will any one give clear picture about exact diff between central processing and local operations in the functionality and configuration part, which comes under decentralized WM Integration.
mail me  any doc or pdf,,to [email protected]
SPRO, path Le -> Decentralized WMS Integration -> Central processing, local Operations.
    Full points for useful answer
    Regards,
    Venkat

    Hello Venkatesh,
Let me try to explain in simple words.
In decentralized scenario you will be using two different system
    1. Central system
    2. Decentral system (WMS system and it can be any application i.e. SAP or other WMS application) in which you will carry out WH transactions.
Now when you have SAP system as Central system at that time you will make settings in "Central Processing"
When you are using your SAP system as Decentral system (which is linked to other Central system) at that time you will make settings in "Local Operations"
    Hope this helps.
