LE 8 and Korg Nano Pad

I recently purchased Logic Express 8. I also have a Korg Nano pad which I used to play my chopped samples in Garageband. As of yet, I haven't figured out how to do the same in LE 8. In Garageband, I would assign my chopped samples to keys on the virtual keyboard (musical typing), and play them with my Nano pad.
I'm wondering if anybody uses a Nano pad with LE 8, or knows how to assign samples to pads. Thanks.

You would need to trigger your samples in either the EXS4 or Ultrabeat plugins. There are tons of tutorials explaining how to do this on YouTube.

  • Korn Nano Pad and Logic Studio

I just purchased a Korg NanoPad and after several hours still cannot figure out how to configure it with Logic 9. I want to be able to use the Logic 9 sounds in the (ESX24, Ultrabeat, etc.) on the Nano Pad without having to load each drum sound into the Korg Kontrol Editior. Is there a specific setting or plugin I need to download to do so. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    You are kidding, right?
The NanoPad is a midi output device and is used as a plain old controller. You don't load sounds into it.

  • IPhone 5 & Korg Nano Key

I have and really love both my iPhone 5 and my Korg Nano Keyboard, but the Korg's connection via mini USB has proved to be a problem numerous times. I really want to use it with my iPhone 5  on the road I can't find anyway to make the conneciton.
Of course investing in a new keyboard would be the easy way out, but the Korg is so light and small and no keyboard I've found really would work as well. It just works well in my situation so I'd really like to come up with a way to keep using it. Any ideas?

They do in their LTE phones, but they are micro-sims.  The new iPhone uses a nano-sim, so I hope they have plenty.

  • Korg nano séries it compatible with Logic Pro x ?

Korg nano séries it compatible with Logic Pro x ?

It's usually not about if the hardware is compatible with LPX.. It's if it is compatible with Mountain Lion that matters... as LPX needs 10.8.4 to run...
So, if the Nano series is compatible with Mountain Lion, you should be good to go..
To find out, see Korg's website

...and download the compatibility chart found there...

  • How do i sync one itunes account with two iphones, one ipod touch, and a nano?

I need help in how to sync the one itunes account we use as a family with the two iphones my wife and i have and an ipod touch that my son has and a nano that my daughter has. Please help.

That article applies, as far as I can tell, to all things called iPod X where X can be nano, touch, classic etc.
We don't have two iPhones in the family as yet but as I understand it each device can have separate settings for syncing calendars and contacts. For example my iPhone syncs these over the air with the Exchange server at work so if/when my wife gets an iPhone it would be easy to have hers sync to our computer
To make sure your apps don't inadvertently merge turn off Automatically sync new apps from the apps tab when you connect your device.
The Apple support document How to use multiple iPods with one computer suggests a number of ways for managing the media content. I use method two (Sync with selected playlists) with a slight twist. Rather than regular playlists I set the grouping field to indicate which users should receive which tracks and create smart playlists based on the content of this field.
    e.g.
"Alice's Tracks" is "Grouping contains Alice" + "Kind contains audio"
"Bob's Videos" is "Grouping contains Bob" + "Kind does not contain audio"
Tracks that both Alice & Bob want on their iPods have the grouping set to "Alice/Bob"
    etc.
I currently manage our family's five iDevices using this system, each getting a different selection to suit their tastes and the capacity of their device. An advantage of using the grouping field is that it is stored in file tags (for non-wav audio files anyway) so that it is relatively easy to recreate the playlists should the iTunes library get trashed and need rebuilding. Also useful if you move files about manually as playlist membership is preserved when you delete & re-import the tracks.

  • Syncing iPhone and ipod nano toi the same iTunes

I have an iPhone (16GB) and and Ipod nano (4GB) and about 9GB of content in my iTUnes. IS it possible to sync both these to the same iTunes library on the same pc. All the iTunes content is on the iPhone but it is too much for iPod nano. I use the two for different things for eg: the nano has nike Plus on it and I also use it for gym etc
in Effect, can you have 2 different libraries to sync with different ipods on the same PC and iTunes

Yes, you can use multiple devices with one library, I use 2 regular iPods and a shuffle (I have a friend who syncs both an iPhone and a Nano, she syncs each with it's own separate playlist). You can for instance have one sync the entire library and another sync a selected playlist or playlists. iTunes recognises each device that is connected and they can each have their own individual settings: There are several different ways to use multiple devices with one computer, you can read more heres: How to use multiple iPods with one computer

  • Is it possible to share 1 bluetooth keypad and 1 mouse pad between two computers in target mode?

Is it possible to share 1 bluetooth keypad and 1 mouse pad between two computers in target mode? Grab a drink and let me tell you my story.
I purchased two computers... an iMac 27" i7 3.4 16GB RAM and a Mac mini 2.3 i5 8 GB RAM. Both have Thunderbolt capability and are in fact connected by thunderbolt. I have 3 problems...
    1. My Mac mini WILL NOT recognize any bluetooth keyboard. Let me back up for clarification. I set my iMac up first. No problems there. I then went on to set up my mac mini. A couple of interesting things happened concering bluetooth activity. First thing is that the keypad, which was already paired with my iMac wouldn't be recognized by the mac mini, and yet my bluetooth mouse which was paired with my iMac became paired with my mac mini and thus wouldn't be recognized by my iMac anymore. I had to go to my back room and dig out my other bluetooth mouse so that my iMac would at least recognize my second mouse. So now I have two "mice"presently. One for the mac mini, the other for the iMac. Thankfully I also had a USB keypad for my mac mini. My bluetooth keypad is still paired with my iMac but won't pair with my mac mini, which brings me to another question....
    2. CAN 1 KEYPAD AND 1 MOUSE PAIR WITH TWO DIFFERENT COMPUTERS SO THAT WHEN I GO INTO TARGET MODE VIA THUNDERBOLT I CAN USE THE SAME KEYPAD AND MOUSE FOR BOTH COMPUTERS? Anybody have some thoughts on that problem?
    3. WHY IN THE WORLD IS MY MOUSE CURSOR DISAPPEARING EVERYTIME I EXIT TARGET MODE VIA PASSWORD AND COMMAND F2. I'm using target mode to access my mac mini. But when I exit target mode to get back into my iMac I'm looking at my iMac screen but I can't see the mouse pointer! I can move the pointer around even though I can't see it. Wierd. And this has apparently been going on for some time with other users for over a year. I am presently completely up to date on Lion updates. Both systems are running 10.7.4. Does anyone have a solution or heard a rumor of a solution coming soon regarding the invisible mouse cursor "curse". I hate having to restart my iMac everytime I exit out of target mode just so I can get my mouse cursor visible again.
Food for thought.... Wouldn't it be really cool to have a target mode capability to see your other computers desktops in seperate window screens on your main display. You then could go back and forth from each window by just double clicking or by certain key commands. You could drag and drop from desktop to desktop. Tell me this is coming soon.
    Thanks

  • Two iPads, an iPhone, an iPod, and a Nano

First off, Merry Christmas to everyone!
And it has been a very merry christmas for my family (me, my wife, and daughter.)  And this is because my mother gave us super gifts! An iPad for me and my wife, and a Nano for my 6-year-old daughter.  My wife also has an exisiting iPhone 4G, and I have an iPod 4.
I am new to Apple hardware and iTunes; my only experience is with the iPod.  Then came my wife's iPhone (hand-me-down from my sister; factory reset). I was able to sync it with iTunes.  But now comes my biggest probklem - how on earth do I sync all these devices on a single computer, single user (Windows 7)?!  (We both have separate AppleIDs.)
When we opened our new iPads, I synced mine first. Then I synced my wife's.  That was easy enough since both were empty.  But now that we've started downloading and installing our own apps, I'm finding syncing a bit confusing.  I synced my wife's first; then when I synced mine, the apps on the iTunes were all greyed out.  So I did what an apple help article suggested, I created an new iTunes library for myself (press Shift when starting iTunes).  So I got mine synced.  When I tried to sync my wife's, this time her iTunes apps were greyed out.  How come?  I thought hers would be the default library.  Now I'm afraid to sync her iPhone because I might accidentally sync and erase whatever is on our iPads and iPhone.
So, how do I use these?  I want to be able to sync our iPads/iPhone without ever seeing those greyed out icons.  Should I turn off iTunes before syncing with a different unit (ipad, iphone)?  No matter which appleID I use, it still reads iTunes Dad on the top.  Can someone help me out, step by step?  I am really new to this.  (If I have to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it to make things easier, I can do that.)
On a slightly similary note, my daughter's nano came with preloaded songs; my sister set it up, but using her MacPro.  When I try to sync it on our computer, it says it needs to reformat it.  Anyway I can backup the music first before reformatting?
TIA and again, happy holidays to everyone!

I'm really stumped.  I haven't synced my wife's iPad yet, but now when I sync my iPad, everything she downloaded on her iPad was downloaded on the iTunes and synced onto my iPad.  Can someone help me please?

  • Synch between iPad, iPhone and iPod nano

When I buy music on ITunes from iPad, how can I transfer the music to my iPhone and iPod nano without using a PC?

With an iPhone then if you are in a country where music can be re-downloaded then it should appear in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone. For the Nano you can't, you will need to copy the music from your iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases and then sync it to the Nano (and similarly for the phone if you aren't in a country where music can be re-downloaded) - you can't connect either of them to your iPad for direct trasnfer.

  • What is the difference between a mac-book, and an I-pad?

What is the difference  between a mac-book and an I-pad?

The Macbook is a computer (running Mac OS X), an iPad is a tablet (running iOS). What are thinking of using it for ? The Mac is more powerful than iPad, so if you need processing power then that will be better suited for your needs. If you will mainly be using it for media (films, music), internet browsing, emails, ebooks, then an iPad would be sufficient.

  • HT204380 i have a mac book pro and a i-pad 2. both of the devices have the same apple id and same mailing adress. if i want to make a face-time call from my mac book to i-pad 2. how can i do that?

i have a mac book pro and a i-pad 2. both of the devices have the same apple id and same mailing adress. if i want to make a face-time call from my mac book to i-pad 2. how can i do that?

You have to add another email address on one of the two devices that you can use as the "You can be reached for FaceTime at" contact address and then remove/uncheck the Apple ID email address as the contact address on that device. The way you are currently setup is like to trying to call yourself on your on phone - from your own phone.
Using the iPad as the example go to Settings>FaceTime>You can be reached for FaceTime at>Add another email address. Then add a working email address in the next window. Apple will verify the email. Go to the inbox of that email account, read and respond to Apple's email in order to complete the verification process.
Go back to Settings>FaceTime>Uncheck the Apple ID email address and make sure that the new email address is checked/selected (you will see it being verified again) and that new email address will be your contact address for the iPad.

  • Why is the Nike   apps different on the iTouch and iPod nano

Can someone explain why Apple put different apps on iTouch and iPod nano and call it only Nike +. There are obvious difference in the apps. I want the app that stores heart information...but the Nike + app on the iTouch only records distance ran. Why not make one app that does both?
what is the deal and can I load the Nike + app that comes on the nano on my iTouch 4gen?
Will the Nike + app for the iTouch be upgrade to work with the Polar heart band and Nike + Gym?

    Yes and Yes.
When I navigate to Notification Center in Settings from an iPhone 4:
    Notifications view - on
    Today view - on
    Today summary - on
    Calendar day view - off
    Reminders - on
    Stocks - off
    Tomorrow summary - off
    Sort by Time
The only apps I don't include are third party and have nothing to do with weather.
Usually when I swipe down on the Today view it's only giving me the date.
Thanks for taking the time to help me!
