LE 8 doesn't see all of my installed Jam Packs

Just setting up a new mac. I installed all the Jam Packs. After that I brought up Garageband and when I click on "Loops" it show the following list. I did notice that when Garage Band came up, it indicated that it was searching for Jam Packs...
Garage Band
iLife Sound Effects
Jam Pack Remix Tools
Jam Pack Rhythm Section
Jam Pack Symphony Orchestra
Jam Pack Voices
Jam Pack World Music
I then installed Logic Express 8. I launched it and when I click on "Loops", I'm missing 2 of the Jam Packs. I only see:
Garage Band
iLife Sound Effects
Jam Pack Remix Tools
Jam Pack Voices
Jam Pack World Music
Can I drag the missing Jam Packs on to Logic? I don't want to make copies, just want them to be seen there.
Please advise.
Thanks

One more observation. I tried dragging just one file over from the Orchestra folder (Academy Cello 01). I then searched for it and found it. I then searched for "Academy Viola 01", but it didn't find it. I ended up dragging over the set of 5 Academy sounds and now if I search for just "Academy" to all show up in the search results. The only bad thing is I don't actually see the "Symphony Orchestra" pack in the list. I guess I can live with that, but it would be nice to see them all there, just so I know which ones I have. Dumb, I know...
If you know of any other way, please let me know.
Thanks again for your help!

  • Installed Jam Pack but see no new loops in Garageband loop browser. Why not?

I successfully installed Jam Pack but don't see new loops in Garageband loop browser. Is there some extra step I'm supposed to do? Before, I had about 57 Rock/Blues loops, and I still have just that. I had 14 instruments under All Drums, and guess what? Still only 14.
I know the install completed successfully - it said so, anyway.
    Clues?

Have you filters set on the Loop Browser?  Make sure the GarageBand Preference "Loops > Keyword Browsing > Filter for more relevant content" is off.  Otherwise you will  see a fraction of the available loops.
To see, if the JamPack has been installed, set the pop-up meu at the top of the Loop Browser to "Rhythm Section". Is that available?
Did you reindex your Loops after installing the Jam Pack? And did you restart the Mac? In Mt. Lion only restarting a Mac will ensure, that an application is not resumed from a cache, when you launch it again.Restarting the Mac will terminate GarageBand for sure.
If restarting the Mac does not make the JamPack Loops show, rebuild the Loop index.  See:  Rebuilding the Loop Index in GarageBand 6 or earlier - Apple Support

  • Itunes doesn't see all the data on all my albums

I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong, or what. I've got about 10GB of MP3's on my computer, when I open them on Windows Media Player or windows explorer I see all the info; album, artist, genre, everything, for all my files. when I add the files to itunes, I only get the info on about half the files, the rest just show the file names, but none of the other info. makes it hard to sort the files out, especially since itunes doesn't give you the option to see the file paths. of course since I didn't import the songs using itunes, it won't get the info from the internet.
    any ideas?

First off, I would STRONGLY suggest that a external hard drive would make you life much easier by at least being able to back up your songs on the external drive for when you need them. Even if you don't want them in the iTunes library, you can have them all ready on the external to be re-added as needed. You can get 100's of gigs for under $100 shipped.
Anyway, since you used Yamipod, are all the songs back on the computer? If so, I would go ahead and restore the iPod, let iTunes then resync everything back to the iPod, then switch it back to manual and see if the restore and resync clears up the issue.

  • ITunes doesn't see all photos in Adobe

Have 60GB iPod. 28GB music. I'm using iTunes 5.0 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0. I have 11,000+ photos so I've created three collections in PSE with 50, 300 and 900 photos in each. Syncing iTunes to these three collections, iTunes only sees 475 photos in one collection, 3 in another and zero in the third. It only syncs the found 478 photos. Why doesn't it see all of the photos in the three collections? I have deleted the iPod Cache folder then re-synced and this did nothing.

From Germany with not perfect English:
I had similar problem. Files that were not transferred had either no file-ending (.tif and .jpg-files without these endings are not synct) or a wrong ending (.pdf for example).
And the Apple-Hotline told me, a next iPod-software-update would allow a better sorting photos on the iPod. (Actually you can not use folders in folders, and all Photoes are sorted by date; a little help may be a count-number at the beginning of the file-name: 01.... 02.... 03... This helps, however it is not a good work for so many photos as you have.)

  • AEx doesn't see all of my files

Hi, I installed an Airdisk yesterday. It's a 1TB Seagate Freeagent formatted in FAT32 with 840GB in a folder called itunes files\lossless. It's assigned as the Z: drive on both my Windows XP machines. That folder contains subfolders for each artist (1395) and below that by album (2700).
First machine worked fine. It saw all and added all the files to itunes.
Second machine added only half the files to itunes. When I look at the z:\itunes files\lossless directory, it only shows the folders it added, i.e. it's missing half. If I enter one of the "missing" folder names in explorer, it comes up, and can play the files in it, but it still doesn't show in the directory. Because it doesn't show all my files in the directory, itunes won't add them.
Currently, the first machine shows the same subset of my files. It still plays all of them through iTunes. The files are in place, the pointers in itunes are correct, but the directory doesn't show all the folders/files.
I have renamed the drive and reset the AEx, but it still shows the same subset of my files/folders.
How can I get all my files recognized?

It's not a time issue. The directory loaded, just many of the files weren't there. This was on two pc's and one mac.
What do you mean enabling NTFS? I had a two hour service call that came down to Airport not recognizing NTFS.
I solved the problem by taking the drive off the airport and connecting via USB to a pc, creating a new directory, moving the files to the new directory. Voila, all there. Just had to load them to itunes which was actually a real pain on the mac, as it got overloaded and slowed to a crawl--would have taken a couple of weeks at the rate it was going. I had to manually add a bit at a time to get it to work. Ugh. Will have to again if the Airdisk flakes out again.
    Very dissatisfied.
Plus, today I attached my portable WD MyPassport (also FAT32) to the USB hub on which the other drive sits, and the Airport went bonkers, unable to hold a connection (wired or wireless) with mac or pc, and bluescreened my XP laptop when I tried to rut Airport Utility.
This is a product that does not do what it claims, in my experience so far.

  • Mail merge doesn't see all records in Access query

Office 13 running on Win 8.1.
I have a query in Access that show 4 records when I run it. If I specify this query as my data source (select recipients) and then choose to edit the recipient list, there are only two records! The query in Access looks like this:
    SELECT Membership.[m-nbr], Membership.[m-first], Membership.[m-member-since], Membership.[m-pick], Contact.[c-zip], Regions.[r-region-name], Regions.[r-region-director], Regions.[r-region-email], Membership.[m-member-since], Associates.[a-first-name], Associates.[a-id]
FROM ((Membership INNER JOIN Contact ON Membership.[m-nbr] = Contact.[c-nbr]) INNER JOIN (Regions INNER JOIN [Region/State] ON Regions.[r-region] = [Region/State].[rs-region]) ON Contact.[c-state] = [Region/State].[rs-state]) LEFT JOIN Associates ON Membership.[m-nbr]
    = Associates.[a-nbr]
    WHERE (((Membership.[m-pick])=True) AND ((Associates.[a-id]) Like "*A" Or (Associates.[a-id]) Is Null) AND ((Year([m-member-since]))=Year(Date())))
    ORDER BY Contact.[c-zip];
If I remove this part: "((Associates.[a-id) Like "*A" Or (Associates.[a-id] is Null AND" then all 4 records show up in the recipient list.
In short, members can have multiple associates, but only the"A" associate is to be included in this letter. (associates have the same number as the member, with an a,b,c etc. appended. A member number could be 8741 and an associate number 8741A.
Why is this happening? Thanks, ~Steve

Hmm, I tend to work in SQL mode when creating queries in Access - in that case, it doesn't change what you write. But I see that in the tabular Design mode it does change to ALIKE and that it works OK - something I wasn't aware of. I read that ALIKE is supposed
to allow "%" and "_" even when the database is in "Jet mode.
FWIW in ANSI mode, I would not expect LIKE "%a" to work in Access but it should work from OLE DB
But in any case, it still works OK here, so still not sure what is wrong.
As a workaround, it might be necessary either to export the query results from Access, then use the exported data as your source, use the query to create a new table and use that as the data source, or connect using DDE (to do that, in Word, you have to
check Options->Advanced->General->Confirm file format conversion on open. Then go through the connection process again and select the .accdb/.mdb. If it's a .accdb, you will have also have to check "Show all" when you get to the "Confirm Data Source"
dialog box. At that point, you need to select the "MS Access Databases via DDE" option from the list (even if you have a .accdb, which isn't listed in the file types for that connection method).
All of these approaches have their disadvantages (e.g. DDE may not connect easily and probably won't return Unicode data correctly) but may at least give you another avenue of investigation.

  • Itunes library doesn't see all the songs on my ipod

i manage my music manually as i have more disc space on my ipod than on my hard drive. so i just add stuff to my ipod one album at a time as i get it.
fast forward to me wanting to make a mix cd of the stuff on my ipod, and since i can't get any of the songs off my ipod through itunes i just used yamipod to move them back to my computer to burn to a cd. problem now is that all the music i've added since upgrading to the new itunes isn't showing up on my ipod, yet the space is still gone. when i use windows to search for the music, it shows up and will play in windows media player, but the ipod seems to think these songs are gone.
is there any way to get it to "see" these songs? or does itunes JUST look at the db file ONLY?
    TIA!!

  • New iTunes doesn't see all music in iTunes folder

I recently upgraded to iTunes 9.1.1.12. Since the upgrade, I notice that it only shows a portion of the files in the iTunes folder.
I can see them when I open the folder in Windows Explorer.
I haven't/don't receive an error message.
    How can I correct this?

  • CS4 Doesn't see all installed fonts?

I recently installed a family of OTFs (NewAster), but none of my CS4 apps see the other family members (Bold, Italic, BoldItalic, and Black) -- only the Regular is available from any dropdown font lists in the CS4 apps. I first noticed this in InDesign, but I've also since checked Photoshop and Illustrator, and it's the same story there. Yet when I check the font settings from the Start Menu of the PC, and again when I use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the Fonts folder, all are listed as installed. Since this font family is already used by the client in their corporate materials, I can't just make a substitution. Anyone know what's up or how to solve this? (new Dell PC running Vista Ultimate 64-bit).
    Thanks, Nancy

Thanks, I had searched the forum and found out about the Arial Narrow problem. I use that font only in my Excel spreadsheets, so I hadn't realized that font was a problem in CS4 programs. And I did follow various fixes mentioned in the Adobe forum posts and my Arial Narrow now works fine in CS4 programs. But my CS4 font problem is different, because it involves a different font, and not a font that is part of a normal Vista nor CS4 installation. I had CS4 installed and running before I installed the NewAster family. NewAster is available for use in CS4 on my PC in its "regular" version, but not in the bold, italic, and bold italic versions. In Microsoft products I can artificially add bold and italic attributes, but in those cases I'm not actually using alternate members of the font family, right? Anyway, I can't do the same in CS4 programs. Makes no difference whether I'm defining a Paragraph style, Character style, or manually formatting single characters. I have two profiles running on my PC, and I tried opening CS4 programs and playing with text on each profile, but that made no difference, either. I'm stumped.

  • ITunes doesn't see all my subfolders in MY Pictures

I just noticed recently that when I sync my IPhone 4S with ITunes, not all of my pictures are copied to the IPhone. Space isn't an issue. In Itunes itself, I've selected the proper folder. When I try to navigate to the missing folders within the sync window in ITunes, the folder(s) don't appear even though I know they exist. What could the problem be? I've also noticed that another program on my laptop Windows 7 PC, "JustCloud", that I use for online backup, also does not "see these folders.

Make sure that in itunes you have chosen the folder above the others So if folder oare in my pictures folder then choose 'my Pictures" not the individual folders within.

  • I Tunes 6 doesn't see all files

I have my I Tunes folder on an external firewire drive. I notice if I search for certain songs, or artists on the drive I Tunes doesn't find it. If I open the I Tunes folder I see the songs and artists in folders. Any help plz

First go to Preferences->Advanced and make sure your music folder location is set to that external drive. If not change it to that, also make sure "copy music to iTunes folder" is ON.
If some music is still not showing up in the iTunes library, go File->Add to Library and choose the iTunes Folder on your external drive. It will look through the foler and it will add any music not already in the LIbrary. It will not create duplicates.
    Does that work?

  • Aperture doesn't see all Pictures for import

I am having problems with Aperture finding photo files for importing. I set the family tree (having tried various routes) for viewing various folders and the images that I know are in the folder, just dont appear!

Have you tried to toggle between folders in the Aperture Import panel? I noticed, that it takes some time for the image files to appear in the Import window.  And Aperture does not seem to refresh the Import Browser window, when you move files around.
    So try the following:
Close the "Import" panel in Aperture.
In the Library Inspector panel make sure, you have a library item selected, that you can import to, not the Trash or something, otherwise the Import window might appear to be empty in AP 3.4.
    Check again the settings.
Then select the folder you want to import from in the Import panel. Wait a moment for the images to appear. If the do not appear, switch to a different folder and then back.
If that still will not show your photos, switch between different "File Types" settings.
If none of this helps, check, if Aperture will see the Desktop or Pictures folder, if you are importing into a different Aperture library.
If even a new library does not help, it may be a problem of corrupted Preferences. Then you probably have a problem with corrupted user preferences.
Remove the Preferences: Remove the Aperture's user preferences from the User Library as described here:
    Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805
Note:Your User Library is hidden by default in MacOS X 10.7.x or later - to open it in a Finder window use the "Go" menu from the Finder's main menu bar.
Quit Aperture, if it is running. Log off and on again.
Open the user library by using the Finder's "Go > Go to Folder" menu and hold down the options-key, until "Library" appears in the drop down menu. Select it.
In the widow that will open, scroll down to "Preferences"
From the "Preferences" folder  remove "com.apple.Aperture.plist".
Then try to launch Aperture again.
But deleting the "Preferences" file will cause Aperture to forget the preferences settings. Be prepared to have to reset all options you set using the Aperture Preferences panel.

  • IWeb doesn't see all Aperture pictures

I'm trying to put some newly processed photos into my website with iWeb. The photos are inside a Smart Album in Aperture 3. iWeb's media browser sees 65 of these images, but there are actually 74 images in the Aperture album. My Aperture library is referenced, so I checked to make sure there were no broken links, but every photo is properly referenced by Aperture. The only obvious thing the missing photos have in common is that they are the most recent imports into Aperture, or close to it. I rebuilt Aperture's library, but no change. The images are TIFs, but iWeb is able to see other TIFs with no problems.
Smart Albums can have issues, so I selected all images in the Smart Album and copied them into a regular album in Aperture. iWeb only sees 59 images in this album. What the hey??
I upgraded from iWeb 08 to iWeb 09 (and updated iWeb 09, too). I don't know what else to try. I know that I can always drag and drop into iWeb, but it's hard for me to figure out which images are missing. Any thoughts on what I should try? Or which app has the problem?

I was playing around editing one of the "missing files" in Photoshop and resaved it. It showed up in iWeb after that. Did the same to all the other TIFs, and they showed up too. Couldn't figure out why two NEFs (raw format) images adjusted in Aperture weren't showing up. I read the O'Reilly link and it finally dawned on me that resaving the tifs in Photoshop was generating new previews. I forced Aperture to make new previews for the two missing NEF files, and they finally showed up in Web. So problem solved. Hopefully this will help someone else. Thanks for the O'Reilly article that gave me the clue.

  • Laptop battery utility doesn't see all cells

Hi. My HP laptop has a MU06 battery, which is supposed to be a 6 cell battery. The HP battery utility says the battery is OK, shows 4 cells, and the 4th cell has 0 charge. Any idea as to the apparent discrepancy, and if it is a discrepancy, is there a fix, e.g. BIOS update, etc.?  Thanks.

    Hi @walkerwj55 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your MU06 battery and your battery not showing the cells correctly. Try performing a hard reset.
When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
