Authorization Issue in Visibility of Lead and Opportunity Documents

I have 4 sales Org in my Project.
When an user from Sales Org 1 is searching a lead he was able to see all the leads
when I tried to change Lead or opportunity of other sales org with my user id, system says that "You have no authorization to execute action Change " the reason is "The authorization check for object CRM_ORD_OE has sent back the return code 12. The activity executed was Change. Return code 12:
I understand it as the system can't find necessary authorization . In my project they want to restrict the document visibility to other users. How can i restrict by which i can see only my documents.

Authorization - Sales Manager: Lead Management / Opportunity Management
Hi Portal Gurus,
As per our requirement, in the 'Sales Manager' role, under 'Sales Cycle', we need to provide only 'Lead Management' for one set of users and 'Opportunity Management' for another set of users and both for other set of users.
What would be the best way to do that. Thanks in advance for your help!

The best way to implement this is to maintain a single Sales Role with all the sub catagories ('Lead Management' , 'Opportunity Management' ) and apply role filtering concept according to the users. That way you need to maintain a single Sales role. Check out the below blog for more details abour role filtering.

Or else, you can create three different roles, one for each 'Lead Management' , 'Opportunity Management' and other containing both of them and assign to users accoedingly.

Assignment of leads and opportunities by product
Hello everyone,
I need to assign leads and opportunities by product to selected personnel, is there anyway to detect more than 1 product in the lead or opportunity? This is because a lead and opportunity may have several products bundled together and it would be very repetitive for the sales person to create one lead\opportunity for each product they sell to the same customer.
Any ideas on how to accomplish this? I was initially thinking of using Books, but it allows for only field comparisons of single values and not multi-picklists. So in the end the problem still comes back to having more than 1 product in a lead\opportunity.

Yes, the initial thought here is to use a multi-picklist; but unfortunately I don't think the assignment manager supports multi-picklists.
And yes, I would like to make it accessible to multiple people, not only one.
Basically, the process goes something like the following:-
1) Marketing obtains lead and enters into the system
2) Lead is channeled to a product manager
3) Product manager reassigns the lead to a salesperson
4) Salesperson converts the lead into an an opportunity - Product Manager should be able to view this opportunity
My question here is would the product manager still gain access to the lead once it is reassigned (salesperson is not reporting to the product manager in anyway)? And how can the product manager be able to view all opportunities which have the product he\she is in charge of?
My initial thought here is that we have to fall back on using Books?

Linking Surveys with Leads and Opportunities
Hi,
We have a survey associated with each lead and opportunity i.e when creating either a lead or an opportunity there is a tab on the GUI in which we can fill up the survey when creating the lead/Opportunity and then save the transaction. The survey goes to a different Infoprovider and leads and opportunity to their respectice Infoproviders.
We now want to link the survey answers to lead and opportunities. I tried infosets and there doesn't seem to be any linkage between these two . Any ideas or has anyone linked surveys to leads and survey to opportunities. Fyi we are on CRM 4.0 and BW 3.5
Thanks.The CRM Surveys are fed into the cube 0WS_C01. If you have set the correct setting in the transaction CRM_SURVEY_SUITE, the survey results are extracted to the datasource 0SVY_DATA_1. Through the appropriate GUIDs the answers to the survey from the table CRM_SVY_ANSW (do not exactly remember the name) can be linked to the header GUID in CRMD_ORDERADM_H. (May be through the link table CRMD_LINK)

Second alternative of using workflow would be better to convert Lead into Opportunity , once LEAD is HOT and Error free.
This workflow is standard functionality offered by SAP for requirement of converting LEAD into Opportunity.

No. range skipping for leads and opportunities

I have assigned an internal number range to leads and opportunity, which are own transaction types, i have created by copying standard ones, but it is surprising for me to see that the numbers are being skipped in random intervals.
Have any one of you have encountered this problem...what solution you applied?

Item not copied from Lead to opportunity (SAP CRM)
Hi guys,
I think that the object of tread is explicative
But i explain my problem: when i save a lead, with a certain status (yet customized), i want to the system create with follow up document an opportunity from my lead.
If i create a lead without product the system create an opportunity very well, but if i insert a product on my lead the systema don't create an opportunity, i see that in activity tab the event raise up but the opportunity is not create.
i have cusomized the action for process type and for category of item but it doesn't work.
Anybody can help me?

1. if you have set proper copy control between lead and opportunity transaction type under spro>crm>transactions>basic settings>copy control for business transactions>Define Copying Control for Transaction Types (you may wana try first without checkmark "Complete reference")
2. if you have set proper copy control for ITEMS between lead and opportunity ITEM types under spro>crm>transactions>basic settings>copy control for business transactions>Define Copying Control for Item Categories (first set checkmark just for "Copy PO data")
3. if you have set any copy control for ITEMS between lead and opportunity ITEM types under spro>crm>transactions>basic settings>copy control for business transactions>Define Item Category Determination when Copying (I suggest you first try without setting any entries in this customazing for your item types)
4. what method are you using for follow-up (I ussualy use COPY_DOCUMENT method)

Q&A db for warehouse management and inventory management
Hello Everybody,
i read on the help.sap website that standard as well as industry specific versions of Q&A db are available. but the website doesnt say where. i searched a lot but the links dont lead to the actual Q&A db.
i would like to request you to kindly share the Q&A db for inventory management and warehouse management with me as i need it for preparing the AS IS documentation.(preferably automotive industry but if not then even standard Q&A db is fine).

Populating Status field in Opportunity management

I need to populate my own values in Object status list box in opportunity management(CRMD_BUS2000111).Is there any way to fill these values.It would be great helpful to me if u have any solution for thishi Rekha,
just create a new status profile via like Rekha said : SPRO -> SAP Reference Image -> CRM -> Transaction -> Basic Settings -> Status Management -> Define Status Profile for User Status
just create new status profile and fill the status that you like to have.
don't forget to choose the object types CRM Oder Header for the new status profile.
and save it
after that you need to assign the new status profile to your opportunity transaction type and save it.
after that try to testing it, i think it will works

Opening balance upload in Leading and NOn leading ledger.
Hi All.
We are in the phase of opening balance upload. We are using Leading and Non leading ledger concept. Our Leading ledger starts on 29th of March 2009 as per UK reporting and Non leading ledger starts from 1st April to 31st of March as per India reporting.
We were going to upload the opening balance as on 22nd of Nov as per UK reporting. But here We stuck because as per India reporting our 2008 fiscal year has been closed on 31st of march 2009 also financial books has been closed. But due to UK reporting we are carrying 29th to 3st march 2009 P&L balances in Leading ledger which has been considered in the India Balance sheet ( has come in Profit and Loss Account).
Here I am not able to understand that how I should upload the 29th to 31st march P&L balances in leading ledger because if I will upload these through F-02 or FB50 BDC than these will effect the India balances also. If I am using the FB01l or FB50L to upload the Non leading ledger balances, than system is not allowed me to upload the balances in open item management accounts. System prompt me following message.
Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted
Message no. FAGL_POST_SERVICE012
Diagnosis
You use G/L account 213702 in company code 7041 with open item management. However, postings are not permitted to G/L accounts in individual ledgers with open item management.
Procedure
If you have not yet made any postings to this account and if the account is to be used for closing processes in non-leading ledgers, deactivate the Open Item Management indicator in the company code data for the G/L account.
Can any one tell me that how I can Achieve the same with correct P&L affect in Leading Ledger and correct effect in Non leading ledger Profit and loss account.
