Leads facilitate your company’s chance to make business. Leads do not provide you with complete details of potential business opportunities, but they can help you to find out more about a potential business.
Lead Management is designed to help automate the initial pre-sales process, freeing up your sales department to focus on the most valuable prospects and opportunities. By deploying lead management processes, you can:

  • LEAD MANAGEMENT- how to make fields mandatory

    Is there a provision in lead management to make the fields mandatory so that lead number is not generated without filling the mandatory fields/ as it is in business partnerm using field groupings in customizing (eg. without submitting address proof BP number is not generated)

    I dont know Kai's solution but it could be good.
    If you want to deal with badi you can use its method CHECK_BEFORE_SAVE, and in it
    if some fields are not filled you can write: RAISE do_not_save.
    Document won't be saved then.
    I checked in my system, and guid is generated (perhaps it is just generated by special FM, but you can not find it
    in any of tables like crmd_orderadm_h or crmd_order_index).
    So in my opinion just guid is generated but not saved in database, until this BADI allows to save.

  • Lead Management Validations - PCUI

    Hi, I am creating new fields for Lead Management and I did this using the easy enhancement workbench, now I need to make some validations on the data from those fields based on data on other fields from the lead.
    Is there a BADI I could use for this? Or is there a better way to do this than using a BADI?

    Hi Felipe, regarding your question, when would you like these validations to take place and how would you like the results of these validations be presented? When you want these validation being performed at runtime, e.g. after pressing enter and the results to be displayed in the message subscreen at the top of the screen you should have a look at the following IMG path: CRM -> Basic Functions -> Incompleteness. For 'simple' validations you can define custom procedures and for more complex validations you can use the second option in that path. In the case these validation should occur upon save, have a look at BAPI 'CRM_LEAD_H_BADI ', method 'CRM_LEAD_H_CHECK'. Hope this answers your question, Tiest.

    I have configured the CRM business package on my portal.
    However quite many of the iViews under Lead management are giving errors like "Page cannot be Found", Some of them are giving "Error occured.. No data found"
    Any idea,
    Why these errors are appearing. I feel my system properties may be incorrect.

  • Authorization - Sales Manager: Lead Management / Opportunity Management

    Hi Portal Gurus,
    As per our requirement, in the 'Sales Manager' role, under 'Sales Cycle',  we need to provide only 'Lead Management' for one set of users and 'Opportunity Management' for another set of users and both for other set of users.
    What would be the best way to do that. Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hello Jasendu,
    The best way to implement this is to maintain a single Sales Role with all the sub catagories ('Lead Management' , 'Opportunity Management' ) and apply role filtering concept according to the users. That way you need to maintain a single Sales role. Check out the below blog for more details abour role filtering.

    Or else, you can create three different roles, one for each 'Lead Management' , 'Opportunity Management'  and other containing both of them and assign to users accoedingly.

    I'd look at using ExternalInterface to fire of the js methods
    that run the
    AJAX.

  • Parent / Child lead management

    Does anyone have experience using parent/child relationships with leads in SalesForce? I am currently looking into setting this up for our organization to answer the need for multiple business units to be able to work/manage their leads while maintaining a unified view of all the interactions with the lead.

    Shane, not sure if you've solved this yet, but I see this use case quite often. The most scalable solution, while not the simplest, is to leverage apex triggers in SFDC to control the creation of children leads based on whatever your child-lead-creation criteria are.  Visualforce can be used to then display and share activity across all related ( connected ) Leads as a related list, and child Leads can be worked independently by sales reps.
    Here's the general scenario:
    1. Prospect A submits a form indicating interest in product A.
    2. Eloqua creates a PARENT LEAD in SFDC because this person does not already exist.  The Lead ID is stored in the Eloqua contact field called Parent Lead ID.
    3. Your Apex Trigger creates a CHILD LEAD, associated to the Parent Lead via Reference, based on product A.
    4. Prospect A submits a form next week indicating interest in B
    5. Eloqua updates the PARENT LEAD with product B (almost like it would with Lead Source - Most Recent).
    6. The trigger evaluates that a CHILD LEAD does not exist with product B and creates one, associated to the Parent Lead via Reference, based on product B.
    Your PARENT LEAD now has two children, one for product A and one for product B, which can be worked independently by sales reps, with the PARENT always remaining in place.
    There's additional logic that needs to be incorporated into the trigger so that updates to the parent can be propagated to the correct child, as well as the need for a custom object in Eloqua to maintain the relationship between the Parent Lead and its Children.

    To create oppourtunity from lead automatically...it is done through  work flow...first go -
    Customer Relationship Management -
    Basic Functions -
    SAP Business Workflow -
    Perform Task-Specific Customizing-select-crm--TS10008153 and TS10008154 and Activate event linking.....Assign agents......then create a lead and save it......go to bussiness work place....in the inbox....you find the workflow generated...... their you can decline lead or create a opp.

  • Lead Management

    Hi,
    I have an issue with Lead transaction, there are 4 qualification levels and at each qualification level an activity is triggered
    My requirement is that until and unless the 1st activity triggered from Qualification level 1 is closed the lead document should not allow the next qualification level to be set.
    Is there any way this can be done through configuration or I need to do it programatically.

    have u tried using the schedule condition in which u may have tested the qualification level of the l;ead according to which u might have call ur lead activity by executing the action.
    for ex:
    &BUSINESS OBJECT.QL& = hot or cold(status level)
    and then call lead after this .
    i guess this may help
    because i have done the same for the activity transaction .

    3. You can use READ_TEXT function module to read long text. Every text in SAP has its own ID and NAME, by passing these parameters into the READ_TEXT function, you can get all the text in the SAP long text object. If you need table, then look in STXH.
