Leading problem

It might well be that I have misunderstood "leading" , but here is the problem.
Using Boris Title 3D.
In the "text entry and style" window I have, for example.
This is a test
Another Test
More stuff.
Now although I have added a few return characters to demonstrate spacing in the above, in the actual Boris entry window, it would either be one line, or a return after "test" and "Test".
When I select the first 2 lines, and apply leading, ALL the lines move up or down. My expectation would be that only the selected lines would move in relationship to each other.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

You said three lines of text. I only see two.
Did not think the others were relevant.
You're trying to tighten the leading, are you? Set all three lines to 48 with zero leading. Change the top two to 76 point. Select the middle line and tighten the leading into negative numbers. Works for me.
Works for me too!!! Not sure why it works now, and not before.
Thank you Tom.

  • Inches as unit of measure causes leading problems

    In Freehand MX 11.0.2 for Windows (using winxp sp2), I cannot
    select inches as my unit of measurement without causing serious
    leading issues. If I set type at 10 point with 12 point leading,
    the program will convert the leading to 12 inches, making it like
    864 points. When using millimeters, it does a similar problem, but
    make it 34 mms, or 34 points. Really frustrating. Anyone else have
    an issue like this? I've reinstalled several times, and
    redownloaded, but to no avail. Also, nothing like this on the known

    So it happens with inches too.
    Kevin (adplus91) asked the same question with the title
    "Leading measurements changing".
    My reply was:
    Only solution is to use Points as measurement units. I've
    made keyboard shortcuts for changing between
    millimeters and points. Changing units, however, reset grid
    value to 6 points or 5mm.
    This is a bug Macromedia probably made when they fixed a
    conversion bug in Objects palette. Also Macromedia
    claimed that this is WinXP only problem but it happens in Win
    2000 as well.

  • Photoshop CS6 Text leading problem

    Hi!
    Problem with text editing in Photoshop CS6. Here's an image - a compare between CS3.
    In CS6 in editing text mode when select all text & use Alt + keyboard "down" I have too big jumping values of leading. It's really make uncomfortable work to exactly adjustment spacing between the lines in text blocks :(((((....
    In CS3 wasn't this problem, everything was excellent with leading & very comfortable work
    Is there any fix this problem?
    p.s.
    OS - windows 7 64 bit
    cs6 - 64 bit extended
    cs3 - 64 bit extended

    hmmm... I really didn't understnand.....
    I just checked it again in CS6:
    1. Wrote down text in 3 lines...for instance
    2. Select all (Crtl+A)
    3. Keep Alt and use keyboard arrows "up" & "down", situation was the same - leading values jumping like 30pt - 44pt - 58 pt.....
    Than I wanted to check it on CS5. In CS5 values changing through 2pt: 30 - 32 - 34 etc. Good!...
    Than I run CS6 again and did the same.... and....DAMN IT!!....It starts to work I wanted!!!!... Fantastic!!!
    Now...I'm in perplexity...a little..... What it was..... I didn't any changes ... not in general preferences...not in text preferences in character palette..... May be it's new any feature & I don't know about it yet....or...may be it bug.....or may be some preferences crosses between different verses of CS?
    WIll use it more times and looking....
    p.s. now I decide to reload OS and check again & post results later...
    p.s.2 ...befor reloading....opened old psd....made in CS3 & tried to change leading in text blocks - it jumped through 10pt........ mmmm ...it looks like CS6 not correctly work with old files (that were made in cs3 for example).... It's not  clear for me yet....what problem in

  • Strings panel autoselecting leading problems

    I have a couple of dynamic text fields containing RETURN
    (charCode 13).
    They work fine when the Strings panel is set to "manual using
    stage language", but when I switch to "automatically at runtime"
    the leading seems to double. I use Flash 8 and flash player 8.
    After searching all the Flash 8 litterature available on the
    Adobe site, checking for autoinserted characters, and a number of
    non-scientific trial-and-errors, I'm stuck.
    The obvious work-around would be to publish each language
    version separately, but all software demos I'm to produce would
    benefit greatly from the auto-language feature.
    Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
    Wille

    Yes, the format validation for it is number. I'm reasonably certain it always used to be number, though.
    Should their be any detriment elsewhere if I had it changed to Char?
    The field (in our test system) is protected against update - how can I remove the protection to test this?
    Thanks for your help so far :)

  • Another tab leader problem

    One of my toc paragraphs (3rd line below) is inserting the leader dots in the middle of the <$paratext>:
    Chapter 3: Service Interface.......................................................................3
         Service Contracts................................................................................ ..3
              package Request.................................................................Access 4
    Any ideas?

    The text entry that is the **source** for the "package Request Access" TOC entry probably has an extra tab in it, in front of the word "Access", possibly a tab instead of a space.
    If you're not doing so, you can select FM's View > Text Symbols to display special characters such as tabs, which appear as right-facing angles.

  • Ipad 4 charging lead problem

    I have purchased a number of leads for the ipad 4 and they keep breaking at the neck towards the 8 pin end. Looking at the apple web site for options and there is lightning to usb adapter accessory can this be attached to a usb charger (possibly a mobile phone charger) for charging? It would illiminate the risky poorly contructed part of the apple lead. Just wondered if this would work. Thanks JL.

  • VPN auto connect leads problem when accessing the private url in my app through HttpClient

    Hi,
    I have app to execute my WCF service through HttpClient(). I configured my SSL VPN in sonicwall mobile connect with auto connect option. So when accessing my internal WCF service, Wp 8.1 asks the VPN connection screen. If I follow the screen, VPN
    has connected and return to my App. But here I received "An error has ocurred. While sending request to server" in Wp 8.1 screen. Even if I debug through visual studio I couldn't catch or track the actual error in code. Below the code I am using

    try
    HttpClientHandler handler = new HttpClientHandler(); ;
    handler.AllowAutoRedirect = false;
    HttpClient httpClient = new HttpClient(handler);

    HttpResponseMessage response = await httpClient.GetAsync("http://172.0.0.11/xxxxx/Service1.svc/xxxxCheck/" + usr.username + "/" + App.DeviceId + "/" + usr.password);
    response.EnsureSuccessStatusCode();
    string content = await response.Content.ReadAsStringAsync();
    List<EmcUserResult> userres = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject<List<EmcUserResult>>(content);
    if (userres.FirstOrDefault().Allowed == "TRUE")

    I recommend that you check the network traffic by using either Wireshark or Fiddler to see what's going on with the request.

  • Best of the Month – July '14

    It’s a common occurrence. You’re in the audience at a rock concert, jazz club or orchestral recital and the sound system doesn’t work. Hi Everyone,
    I have been having the weirdest problem...not all, but many of my text boxes are cropping the text...and if I continue typing to do a second line, it squishes the text together...almost like a leading problem for those of you familiar with typography...enlarging/shrinking the text does not help, does anyone know how to fix this? some examples are below, let me know, thanks
    btw here are some screen shots of windows where this issue happens, if that helps:

    yeah I did a font evaluation and found problem fonts but font book could not get rid of them when I went to remove the problem fonts...so I removed all the system fonts (which were replaced) and them I removed all the regular fonts and put them into fontagent pro...thanks ago

    After installing oracle 10g Express Edition on Ubuntu 11.04 (64bit), i tried to start the database
    # su - root
    # /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start
    and it would not start.I also tried to launch the sqlplus prompt and that would not also launch, i am stressed up and do not know what to do next. I someone has done that successfully, I will be happy to receive the very steps that he or she used in solving that problem.Thank you oracle gurus. Peter Asane

    Hi,
    Did you configure database by running script /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure ?
    If you did configure database by running script /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure , did you chose not to start database on boot?
    That lead problems in many cases. This might help

  • Shake vs. Motion... a discussion

    While I have often reached for Motion when I used to go for Shake before, Motion still hasn't replaced Shake for me. The keyers in Shake beat the pants off Motion's offerings. Motion's trackers, smoothcam, optical flow retiming, though do hold up well in comparison, though. Motion's 3D world is also much easier to use than anything in Shake.
    I do wish Motion had a nodal view. While things like clone layers help, I can often visualize and work better with nodes than with layer stacks. Combustion gives both nodal and layer views.
    Of course there's Shake's morph/warp that has no equivalent in Motion, but I only use that once in a while.
    I like the display and control of masks in Shake over Motion - finer lines, and adjustable feathering...
    Anyone else have thoughts?
    Patrick

    Patrick, you summed things up quite well.
    I'm 100% pro-nodal. It just makes complex processing sooooo much easier.
    Pity that Shake doesn't have particles and that Shake's 3D is so basic,
    but that was the decision Apple made. Rather than continuing to develop
    Shake as the industry-leading problem solver, they decided to mine it
    for chunks of code so they could create something more like After Effects.

    Hi
    You can make the setting  in delivery item category by going to the below path
    SPROIMGLogistoics execution-Shipping-Deliveries ---Define item categories for delivery (OVLP)
    Maintain Check minimum quantity  "B"
    By doing the settings also it will not work in case of deliveries  made reference to STOs.

    doesn't exist.

  • Boris 3d titler

    Is it me or since FCP 5 came out, the 3d titler is very bogged down? I used to use it a lot for disclaimers and quick titles but now it seems to want to freeze up when I try to use it. Not to mention the leading problem when you open a project from a previous FCP version.
    I have started using LiveType as a work around but this gets tricky when you copy a sequence and make changes to the livetype clip. I updated in all sequences using that LT clip.

    Works fine for me, so...
    How did you upgrade to FCP 5? Just install over the current version? you might think about doing this:

  • LG external dvd writer stopped working

    Hi, I have an LG GSA-E40N external dvd writer connected to my eMac via usb2.
    It was working fine from new at the beginning of June until the other day when I upgraded from 10.4.3 to 10.4.10. Now, my eMac won't recognise the LG drive at all in either the powered usb2 hub it was connected to originally or when connected direct to the computer - shows nothing connected to that port when it's plugged into the computer.
    I took it back to the shop where, unsurprisingly, it worked straight away with a Windows system so it's not a leads problem.
    So the obvious answer seems to be the upgrade to 10.4.10 broke support for the writer somehow but the question is, is there a way to get my eMac to work with this LG writer again under 10.4.10?

    thewiccaman,
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
    There have been a number of reports of people having problems with USB or Firewire access to external drives after updating to 10.4.10 (balanced against reports of previously unusable drives that now work, not that that's of any consolation to you). It appears that some of the 'minor' tweaks Apple included in 10.4.10 to more closely match the published USB and Firewire standards cause problems with manufacturer's devices that are themselves slightly off the standards.
    Although external DVDs should be recognized in 10.4 without any additional software, you can try checking the LG website for any mention of firmware or driver updates for your particular model drive.
    You may want to resort to dropping down to 10.4.9 (while waiting to see if Apple releases a 10.4.11). Kappy describes how to downgrade the OS in this post. Ypu'll want this link as well: OS X Update Combo 10.4.9 (PPC)
