LEAP Supported in boot camp?

I am able to connect to my local corporate network via LEAP under Leopard but can't under Boot Camp (Windows XP Pro). Is it supported? Only option is PEAP.

Hi,
since LEAP is a proprietary authetication method from Cisco it is not part of Windows XP.
See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LightweightExtensible_AuthenticationProtocol
Seems that you have to get the Cisco W-Lan client for Windows XP.

When will Windows 8.1 be supported on Boot camp 5? I have a new Mac book Pro 2013 and cannot install. Do I return the Windows version and try to download 8.0, or wait it out until it is supported? New to Mac's.
    Apple please advise.

Apple does not respond in these forums except occasionally an Apple employee will stop by. If you want to contact Apple, use the contact us link at the bottom of this page.
With respect to your question "When will Windows 8.1 be supported on Boot camp 5?" you are asking us to speculate as to when Apple will release their drivers supporting Windows 8.1. We do not know, and we can not speculate as to when. From the terms of use of this forum:
"Unless otherwise noted, do not add Submissions about nontechnical topics, including:

The planned dates of production or release of Windows 8.1 drivers are speculation about the drivers.
With respect to your other question, "Do I return the Windows version and try to download 8.0, or wait it out until it is supported? New to Mac's.". I answered you.

  • Problem downloading windows support software -- boot camp

Attempting to download windows support software on MacBook Air 13.3" running version 10.7.4. The download is just hanging up. I was able to install Windows 7 with the boot camp and now don't have any drivers in the windows environment.

Thanks for the response. I had been attempting the download for 6-8 hours. A bit after the last reply was posted, the download started to make progress and eventually completed. I successfully installed all the drivers.

  • Intel vt-x not supported on boot camp windows 7 (virtualbox and microsoft detection tool)

    Hello,
I've a MBP mid-2010 that is running a Windows 7 Pro as boot camp partition (business needs).
I've installed virtualbox on the Windows 7 OS, but I can't access the "accelration" tab under the system settings.
When running an imported OVA system (that uses Intel VT-x) I get an error message saying :
"VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot."
Using the Microsoft® Hardware-Assisted Virtualization Detection Tool, I get the confirmation that it is not available on my computer.
Which is really strange because it is working perfectly under Mac Os X Mavericks (and previous).
    Anyone has an idea ?
    Regards,
    Franck.

I have this exact same issue, except I'm trying to use Hyper-V in Windows 8.1. Windows is running via Bootcamp 5, I have a late 2013 Macbook pro model.
I get the error message Hyper-V cannot be installed: Virtualization support is disabled in the firmware.
After poking around online, most information points to the Mac EFI firmware. It might be an update is available there that will help with VT-X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1237
However, there's no update for my particular Macbook. I've only found one workaround that I don't really know how/why it works.
    1. Power off my macbook, completely shut down.
    2. Hold the option key to boot into OSX Mavericks instead of Windows.
    3. Restart from OSX and let Windows boot by default.
For some odd reason, VT-X is now enabled. This may be specific to my Mac. It's a Macbook Pro 2013, 15'' - '11,3' model.

  • Can't download Windows support software (Boot Camp Assistant)

    Hello,
I have OS X Mavericks in a early 2009 MacBook Pro unibody and I tried to install a legal copy of Windows 7 through Boot Camp Assistant.
The problem is while downloading the Windows support software to a 8 GB USB pendrive (which works fine), I obtain this message from Boot Camp Assistant:
So I can't carry on with the Windows 7 installation with Boot Camp.
I tried restarting the system and with different USB pendrives, and I obtain always the same issue.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks you.

I think I have solved the problem.
Looking into Apple's Support Webpage, I found this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1630
Here you can download the Boot Camp Support Software for running Windows 7 for my MacBook Pro (15 inch, early 2009).
Later, I will install Windows and then install this Boot Camp Support Software and see if it works.

  • No DirectX support under Boot Camped XP?!

    Hello,
I'm having very strange problem with 3D. Not only games, but all 3D programs (i have 8800 GT video card). I've tried installing drivers from nVidia's site (169.27 was the latest, if I remember correctly). Installation was successful, after restart I see my display adapter is detected correctly and i can set up appropriate screen resolution. But the thing is, if I go to nVidia Control Panel while in XP 32 bit, it doesn't even show spinning 3D logo in the Preview section of 3D Properties Category (but it should, the area just remains empty). Basically, I cannot run any DirectX 3D App/Game. BUT! If I run > dxdiag and preform different D3D tests from there all work very well. Yes, I have latest Direct X installed (directxmar2008redist).
3D Max cannot locate d3dx9_34.dll (even if I copy it to system32 folder, it lunches, but viewports do not work in direct 3d mode). So by some mysterious reason, I cannot run any program that works with Direct3D (even nVidia's control panel).
However, under Vista 32 bit (only after refreshing the system's rating information and having all the same drivers installed before that refresh, all works ok). The thing is I can't use Vista with VMWare, that's why I need XP up and running with DirectX support.
If anyone could suggest something, I would be very thankful!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,
Thank you for your reply. What installation i should update? The windows? or the DirectX? I have the latest directx installation file and i doesn't work. I will try using windows update of course, but i don't think that's the reason.
Programs simply don't find directx dll files.

  • Windows software support in Boot Camp

I cant seem to get this to work at all- I have downloaded the Windows support software and burned to a cd. Windows 7 is loaded onto the hard disc and set up and running. I put my CD into the slot and it is seen as a blank CD. I have rebooted in OSX and the disc is not visible at all. I have then put the disc in a PC laptop running windows 7 and it is recognised. Any ideas what is going on here?

I will give that a try later today it sounds promising and Thanks

  • HT5639 Apple, you write windows 8.1 is not supported in Boot camp 5.

Do you know when it will be then?
    Thanks in advance.

We are users like you. Apple will not see this. Send feedback:
Hmm, The Apple site has no place to submit BootCamp feedback, so I will just link to the generic iMac page:

  • HT1461 Are wireless keyboards and mice not supported with Boot Camp?

I unfortunately need to use Windows to run a program my family needs.  Do I really need a USB plug-in keyboard and mouse versus the wireless ones that come with the iMac?

Wireless keyboards and mice work very well with Windows.
During installation though you will be required to provide keyboard input to select menu options. This is required prior to Windows or Windows wireless drivers being installed. Hence the reason that you need a connected keyboard during installation.

  • When there will be a new boot camp version with Windows 8.1 support? I a floor of year can't already update Windows 8 on the iMac! ! !

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Boot Camp Support Software 5.0.5033 supports Windows 8.1 and can be used with that version. The Mid 2011 iMac is compatible with Windows 8, so you should not have any problem by installing Windows 8.

  • HT5634 Boot Camp support drivers install unsupported MacBook Air 11inch

I successfully installed WIndows 7 64bit from a USB on my 2013 MacBook Air 11inch and it seems to function properly. When I tried to install WIndows support software I keep getting "Boot Camp x64 is unsupported on this compter model" message.  The Boot Camp support site states that this install is supported using Boot Camp 5 (which is the version I used). I've found a few workarounds on-line that mention doing something via the disc in the CD/DVD drive, but I didn't go that route so I am unsure how to proceed. Anyone have any guesses on how to make this work?

This sounds weird to me. I just installed 64x on your model macbook air at work today and everything went off with out a hitch. Perhaps you could try to redownload the drivers from boot camp assistant? I have had issues occasionally with boot camp drivers and redownloading usually works out for me.
    Best,
    Stuart-

  • Can I download boot camp support software outside of boot camp assistant?

I've been able to install windows 7 with boot camp assistant and an external cd/dvd drive.  I have not, however, been successful at downloading and applying the boot camp support software.  It has either not loaded onto a USB drive, or will refuse to write to a CD.  Is there a solution to this, and/or can I download the up-to-date support software from another machine, burn it to disc and run it in windows (as older versions ex. 3.1, seem to be .exe files)?

  • Windows 7 boot camp support out yet?

Is Windows 7 support for boot camp out yet? I don't want to install Windows 7 because of the problems with the drivers. If not. When will it be out?

Well, I have already placed my order for a new Lenovo Thinkpad. Last time I owned a Mac, I had the same problems. The Windows drivers would take forever to release (for Vista) and there were a million excuses from Apple for why it was taking so long.
This time around I though it would improve but obvously nothing has changed. As much as I love the Mac, the reality is that I have to run Windows for work and virtualization *****. I own Fusion 3 and its slow as ****.
I honestly have no idea how it can be so hard for Apple to write windows drivers for a few pieces of hardware. HP and Dell do it all the time and it takes them only a few weeks.
I am probably going to give my Macbook to a relative or sell it once I get the Lenovo configured. This is ridiculous.
