Hi,
I recently published a new page in the CQ5.5 documentation: How to use Components as Boilerplates
In a nutshell:
Create the boilerplate content.
Include the content in other pages (single-source it).
Enable only some users (for example, editors) to modify the boilerplate content.
Make it obvious for all other users that the content cannot be edited.

Thanks for your suggestion..
I tried using the "Services for Object" option and i was able to upload a document. But when i try to view the document in PO display ME23N, by clicking the Icon as you mentioned the attached document is not displayed.
Only when i go in Change mode ME22N and select "Service for Object" i get the documents displayed. What is the way to get the document displayed ?

HP how can you be content screwing your customers

I have had issues over the years with the wireless connectivity of my Pavillion m9350f computer. Even when HP was a reputable company that stood behind its products it was poorly handled. It went in for repair once came back but the problem resurfaced. At various times I have received support but the problem resurfaced.
I now have a solution to my problem. It turns out I am far from the olny person with the problem. The current driver for the wireless card is the cause, and it needs to be rolled back to specific driver that works. During the period this driver was on my computer it did work, and then when updated the problem returned.
I am quite shocked and very pissed off that I was told I needed to pay your tech support to get a simple answer to one question - show me where this driver is. Of course its no longer on your support page, you got rid of all the intermediate versions so you can manipulate customers into paying again for what they already purchased - a computer that works. I do not want to pay a fee that reflects the need to troubleshoot and identify and repair a problem - as your team has already failed to do this time and time again. The fact that I am rudly told that the system is outdated and no longer supported is a lie - it is a fast computer it is not outdated, and the fact that you offer paid support shows it is clearly not an unsupported product either - thats a lie. Then in the process of trying to address my concerns I asked for the manager of this agent and was told they are not available. BS. They are always available, so I waited and waited and waited and waited and yes, a manager was produced who was obnoxious told me to pay or to screw off and hung up on me. Your company has degraded to that and I am disgusted by this lack of appreciation for my business. Companies that survive do not screw their customers.

How to display file contents on a web page

On unix platform I have created a class that can read the contents of a file and display them to the standard output. But now i want to display these file contents on a web page through jsp. On JSP code I have imported this class and want to assign a record from a file and write it to the screen using html. I think the class needs to be modified in order to return the string record read from a file so that im able to access it from a jsp and assign it to a variable the I can display it on the screen. Can someone help me with these code?

How to call KM content in independent HTML page?

My requirement is to call KM contents in simple HTML page,
Actually I want to show documents from specific location of KM into HTML page which is nowhere related to EP pages, it will be totally independent page.

Hi,
i think you can call KM content with in an independent HTML page by using the tags in HTML ,href="target path of your KM content" and target="_blank" OR "_new","_top" any of these you can use based on your requirement.But i think you shud have to upload your html document under km content with in ur portal environment.As you said your are not attaching that html page to portal you can call your KM content by specifyng url of your km content, otherwise you can make use of quick link property of page. If you want further help you could ask me .. i hope it'll be useful for you.

You'll need to either interpret the PDF file yourself or find a 3rd party PDF component.
The in-box PDF renderer produces a non-searchable image rather than text (I suppose you could
OCR the rendered image, but that's a pretty ugly solution)

I would like to learn how to make an alias for my "Home" page in Adobe Muse.

Currently, my homepage is titled "Home." This works great in the vertical menu at the top of the main pages. It does not, however, work well if someone wants to bookmark my site in which case their bookmark generates the generic "Home." Can I create an alias for the home page in Muse? If so, how?

How do I remove content from my web page without deleting it?

I previously created a webpage using iWeb on the domain name that came with dot.mac (now Mobile Me). I want to remove it from the online page without deleting it (I may want to use the content later). I've used other software at work (Morello) and there you would "archive" it. Can anyone please advise how I do it on my Mac?

You can cause an entire page to not show in the site by using the Inspector/Page/Page pane to remove its link in the navbar. That would preserve that page until you decide to reintroduce it into the site.
As for part of a page, the only way I could think of doing that is duplicating the page and remove the duplicate from the navbar. Then edit the original page to remove the content you want gone.

File View Attribute - The view attribute that maps to the column that stores the file content.
File Name Override - The file name to save to when you select the File Download link and choose the Save option in the File Download window to save the file. The default file name that appears in the File Name field of the Save As dialog window is derived from the value returned from the view
attribute specified by the View Attribute property. The value of the File Name Override property overrides that default file name and is especially useful if the view attribute returns instructional text, such as "Click on this link to download the file". If the File Name Override property is not defined, then
the file name to save to is the value returned from the view attribute.
File MIME Type - The MIME type of the file. See the Runtime Control example below if you do not want to specify a static value for this property.
Data Type - The data type of the File View Attribute. The BLOB datatype is now supported for File Download as of OA Framework 11.5.10D.

Which problems did you have that you decided to reset Firefox?
Note that if you have visited pages before on a server via a secure connection then Firefox will prefer to using a secure connection (a reset imports the history).
You can set the Boolean browser.urlbar.autoFill pref to false to disable auto-fill on the location bar.

How can I fixing content to a specific page?

I am making a template in numbers that has a series of pages that each contain spreadsheets. The document will be a template to use regularly. However the content may change each time i use it. On each page there are two small spreadsheets and a company logo at the top of the page. The problem i have is when i increase the number of lines in a spreadsheet on page 1 all the content on page 2 is moved down. This means i then have to then select all the content on page two and move it back into the right place i.e the logo back into the top right corner etc.
So what i need is a way to fix items to a page and If the size of the spreadsheet increase beyond the page it creates a new page and moves all the text below onto a totally seperate page rather than just moving down a little bit. Almost like a page break in Word does.
Is there a way to do this. I can email the template to you if it helps?

How to implement the record count on the page

Dear,
I have a basic search page, results region with a simple table.
I need to show the total number of records returned by a search query.
Suppose I create messageStyledText "counter" bean to show the result.
The result will be calculated in the ProcessFormRequest, how would I set the value of the the "counter" bean then? I can not do that in PFR.

In the PFR method of controller, get the row count of VO when user click on search button and then set its value in the counter bean.

Anybody has idea if the forum provides some API/ snippets which can be used to show the contents from forum (latest threads, announcements, polls) in a simple HTML page
The fields required from API to be displayed are:
Subject of the thread
Some starting content from the thread/ message
Date and time of the thread/ message
Forum name of the thread/ message
Author of the thread/ message
Link to the thread/ message in forum
This can some something similar what the RSS feed feature delivers.

How to implement table pagination/navigation in ADF pages?

Hi,
I am developing an ADF application, where I have a requirement to implement table pagination like the one used in Google (<< < 1 2 3 ... > >>). I have around 1 million rows and the user needs to navigate to different sets using the buttons at the bottom of the table. I know that in ADF the scroller loads the data depending on the range but I haven't found anything like the one used in Google.
There is an implementation of dropdown in trinidad table but our application is using the ADF table. Any light in this direction will be a great help.

Search the forum fro pagination or page ranging. Lots of discussion here.
Generally you have to write it yourself, theres no way to use rich table this way.

How to implement 'no split' on end of page in smartforms

Hi frnz,
in my smartform, there is a main window on the page.
i have implemented a loop in the main window.
each row in a loop displays a box in the window.
the box has 7 rows. The height of the rows is not fixed & so the height of the box is not fixed...
so if the first row is fetched, 1st box is displayed....
now 2nd row is fetched & 2nd box is also displayed if there is still space in the the main window on page 1...
what happens sometime is that only half box is printed on page 1 & half box is printed on page 2 due
to lack of space on page on in main window..
i dont wnat this to happen.. the box should be printed only on one page.... can any1 help...
