Learning Flash CS3 Professional

I have not used Flash regularly for several years, MX04 being
the last version I used. How different is Flash CS3 Professional
than MX04? I last programmed with ActionScript 1.0 - how different
is 2.0? Any books to recommend?

I am just learning Fireworks cs3 with a tutorial which is now requiring that I use Adobe Flash CS3 Professional. Being a beginner I am not certain if this is an extension download or do I have to purchase a program. There does not seem to be phone support-they just directed me to this forum. I realize that this is an older version. Am I just supposed to download Extension Manager 1.8 for Windows? I have Vista Windows. I am confused between software programs and extensions.

CS3 is an archived product. You will have to download the trial version of Flash CS5 Pro which gives you 30 days to try
the software after which you will be required to purchase it or uninstall it. If you plan on doing more web design work such as with Dreamweaver then I would recommend investing in one of the Creative Suite bundles.

Just a little claritification, you need to add the value to the variable "[string]$ou", and also change the language in the variable "$emailbody" in the function "Get-ADUserPasswordExpirationDate".

Can't Uninstall Flash CS3 Professional

Yes I've looked around the web and Adobe forums. There's a whole mess of things I'm trying to fix right now so I might as well start from top and keep it compact. Scroll down to where it says "Let's recap" if you wanna get a summary of my technical issues. It may scare away some of you, but please at least someone respond. (ps all links are put here purposefully by me)
I joined a site called newgrounds and became fascinated by flash movies there. I found a link which lead me to Flash CS3 Professional free trial download page. I installed the program without a single problem. But after installation & restarting I couldn't find flash in there at all instead I found these (screenshot). I asked for help on newgrounds, and got advice to install CS4 instead. First I attempted to uninstall CS3, but it will only let me uninstall the Flash Player 9 ActiveX Component and not the program. I looked this up and the solution seemed to be CS3Clean Script. However I have two problems: first off I can't backup my files like recommended because the backup drive doesn't have enough room, which means 7.63GB out of 10GB is somehow being used (screenshot). If I decided to run CS3Clean Script without backing up my data I'd get a message telling me I need to install Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. (screenshot) Which leads me to my second problem. When I run the file to install "Windows Installer CleanUp" (just downloaded) I get this error. What does it mean? Because I am on the Administrator's account so I don't understand why I don't have privileges.

Adobe flash CS3 professional trial version installation problem

hi,
I am trying to install the adobe flash CS3 professional
trial version on windows installed and it complains that "internet
explorer"
is opened. I killed all the processes "iexplore.exe" , it
still complains the same thing. Please let me know...am i missing
something?

Flash CS3 Professional CRASHING

I can't post in the Customer Service Center because it's my
work's copy and I have no info on the software.
Flash CS3 Professional is crashing immediately (with generic
error message of having to close Flash) when I open an existing fla
file OR try to create a new one. It crashed originally when I
accidentally pasted a paragraph of text into the font tab instead
of a font. I restarted and it was still broken. I got the tech
person to uninstall and reinstall the software and it STILL
CRASHES. What is going on?? Anyone??? I need this to do aspects of
my job, so I need help ASAP. Thanks!

It's incredible how Adobe forums have declined in recent
times. Most posts here have 0 responses.
I too have this problem - and when trying to save workspace

New 9.0.2 update for Flash CS3 Professional

I just ran the new Flash CS3 Professional update via the
Adobe Updater. Everything ran and reported the update was
successfully completed. However Flash still says it's 9.0.0.494 in
the Finder and when choosing About Flash from the program it says
9.0. Just wondering if the update really happened or not.

change that, as it does not appear to be the case. The language

Flash CS3 Professional crashing on exit

Hi to all,
I have a strange problem. Every time I use Flash CS3, the
program works with no problem, with no lags and crashes. But once
my work is done and I close it, Windows prompts a dialog about a
"Flash not responding" warning. It happens every time I close the
program, why is that?
My laptop has 2 Gigs of Ram, Vista Home Premium.

I do not recommend you to use CS3. And Vista. Too big, heavy
and slow. If it was not a program but something else, you'd run
like hell, right?

Flash CS3 Professional Very Slow & Sluggish

I recently upgraded to Flash CS3 Pro (WinXP). It is very slow
to use -- the mouse keeps getting "stuck" for several seconds at a
time, sometimes longer. It seems to get even slower when I open the
script window (F9).
Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a way to fix
it? It sort of drives you insane.

You certainly are not alone. I'm running into the same
problem. I have 4gb of ram in my system, though I'm not running
vista yet, thus it sees 2.5gb. I'm on a dual dual-core xeon 3.0g
system, so it actually exceeds the recommendations for HD video. I
have a 5 disc raid0 array.
I don't have any answers for you, nor do I have any new
information. But I do want to confirm that there is a big problem.
My ram appears unused, and so do my CPUs. The CPUs get used for 10
seconds, then sit for 45... it's entirely useless.
Is there anything that can be done? It's really, really
useless to have your computer freeze 2/3 of the time while a
program is simply open and doing nothing...

Flash CS3 Professional and Remoting?

I have some flash projects from 8 that use the remoting
classes and amfphp on the server side. they don't work under CS3. I
don't see any install for remoting under cs3, and just copying the
classes over doesn't seem to do it.
any ideas?

We're working on a TechNote covering this, expected next
week.
The Remoting Component and the Remoting classes are no longer
used with ActionScript 3. Rather you'd use the
flash.net.Netconnection class.

If you want to migrate content to an AS3 SWF you'll have to

If it is a jpeg image and not text, then you need to use html code to place the image in an html page. Dreamweaver files can only have text/code put in them. If you want to display an image in a Dreamweaver html page, then you need to use the proper tags/code. It sounds like you have no familiarity with making web pages, so you might want to start off asking questions in the Dreamweaver forum.
