Learning for intermediate learner

I'm in intermediate level of C#, I know all the essentials very well, and OOP, I also know the essentials of LINQ, XML, and SQL. But however I'm not that good
In practice, I'm thinking to stop learn new things, and concentrate on practicing and learn through it, but I don’t know from where to start!
Most books do this but for beginners and then I spend a lot of time time in reading things I know well. So I want sources that concentrate on practicing and developing real projects, with
skipping the essential stuff. I want sources to fit my level.
please help me with your experience.

Hello,
I think and cdevelop a small project in c#,linq, xml and sql, if you found a problem in any project search in the msdn or in the web, you can contribute you project in the gallery (technet),post problem in the MSDN.

  • Customer/vendor could not be determined for intermediate document

does any one know how to solve this problem, i got this error for an inbound idoc 820 (remmitance advice).

    Hi rob,
    Message no. FD017
    This is the following message:
Customer/vendor could not be determined for intermediate document 0000000000047039
    Message no. FD017
    Diagnosis
Several procedures are defined for determining the partner (customer or vendor):
    1. The customer/vendor can send his/her account number (the account
number in our system) in the address segment.
    2. The customer/vendor can send his/her account number (our number at
the customer or vendor) in the address segment.
    3. Only the name in the address segment clearly identifies the
customer/vendor. In this case you can create an allocation within
intermediate document customizing (IDoc base -> Control -> Forward
       inbound).
    4. The customer/vendor is determined using his/her bank details (only
for the "INVOIC01" intermediate document type).
    5. The customer/vendor is taken from the control record of the
       intermediate document.
For 1.-3.: One of the address segments with the partner functions
"II", "RS", "SU", 'SE' ("INV_ID01"), or "RS" or
"LF" ("INVOIC01") is used for determining the
               customer/vendor.
    Procedure
Create the customer or vendor within Financial Accounting or maintain his/her bank details.
    Create customer         - Proceed
    Customer bank details   - Proceed
    Create vendor           - Proceed
    Vendor bank details     - Proceed
If the customer/vendor can only be determined using his/her name, create a record within intermediate document customizing with
logical address = name, application = "FI" or "MM" and physical target in the SAP system = customer number/vendor number.

  • Looking for intermediate skill level short course (1 - 2) days in Melbourne (Australia)

    Hi Everyone,
I am relatively new to writing SQL queries, and do not consider myself to be a natural.
Late last year I studied a Unit called 'Introduction to Database Design' at Deakin University. This unit reflected the broad ANSI standard SQL (during theoretical studies), and Oracle SQL Plus (during practical studies). I did quite well in the unit, and now
have a thorough understanding of the basic SQL concepts such as JOINs, UNIONs, etc.
This year I find myself working specifically with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, and related T-SQL syntax within my occupation. More specifically the company that I work for uses SAP Business One, and the underlying infrastructure at my work is MS SQL Server
    2008 R2.
I would like to study some more SQL formally! My boss will probably back me in attending a one / two day course that deals specifically with T-SQL.
I am ideally looking to learn some 'intermediate' skills, such as CTEs, and Pivots. However performance of the SQL Server itself (such as Load Balancing, and Tuning) does not interest me.
     I live in the
Melbourne (Australia) and would like to find a suitable course in the CBD or surrounding suburbs.
If anybody can suggest any courses / course providers that are very good at teaching in my area can you please share. Finally my budget would probably be somewhere between $600 to $1000 for the course, but if the course comes with high recommendations I might
be able to budget a little higher.
Any help and or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    David

    Hi David,
According to your description, you are going to find some T-SQL courses near to Melbourne Australia, right?
Since we are not in Australia, it's hard to give you the exact courses about T-SQL in Melbourne. However, you can learn it online. Here are some useful links about CTE and Pviots, please refer to the links below.

  • Good site for intermediate knowledge on Mac system architecture?

I have had up until now only a Windows-based background. My son recently got a Mac. There are plenty of guides for beginners which are aimed at the user-interface level for basic tasks. However I would like to read up on more of the Mac Operating system architecture itself eg I am fairly familiar with using Windows Control Panel, Device manager, the Windows registry itself - basically comfortable and knowledgeable about anything in windows system settings. Have had extensive training in virus removal so can interpret log files etc....I don't need or want to go to the extent of knowledge to program a Mac or anything of interest to Developers, but want to go a bit beyond understanding what the icons in the Dock represent.
Is there a good website to start....yes, I know, playing around with the Mac is the best way to learn but I can't get near it for one thing, and I don't want to go experimenting till I know more about it. Would appreciate a pointer to any good reading material, especially if it has screen shots of various system folders or applications showing the menus available, etc.
As an example, if I download a new device driver in Windows, I know where to look for it...we downloaded an updated printer driver the other day & it self-installed but I have no idea where it was installed....

Thanks guys, appreciate the suggestions, hope I'm not sounding picky/ungrateful for the help, but I'm not after stuff to do with developers/programmers. It's just wanting to find the Mac equivalents of things like msconfig, regedit (if there is such a thing in Mac), disk defrag, disk clean-up, tweaking settings - I guess this kind of stuff is mostly in System preferences? Things like the Administrative Tools in Windows where services can be stopped or disabled....pardon my ignorance if this is not relevant to Mac, I really know nothing about it. Maybe Confucious was right! Might need to get my own Mac The only time my son lets me near his computer is when something goes wrong & then he wants me to fix it. LOL!
Mac OS is (un)fortunately very good at doing most of the above itself. i expect the terminal app can do some of it but i'm no good on the terminal side. i'd use 3rd party apps with a GUI such as Cocktail

  • Tutorials for intermediate users

I have done beginner's courses in Photoshop. I am fairly comfortable with the basics.
I just want to move on to the next stage.
Can anyone recommend any web-based tutorials – not the sort of thing that you get with Lynda.com (which I fully appreciate and subscribe to) but something that gives me full exercises to complete and to be appraised on.
I am quite comfortable with a subscription based system (but obviously if anyone knows of free tutorials then all the better!)

I recently stumbled upon this site.

  • Looking for intermediate course in Flash

I'm looking for good self-paced training in Flash, geared toward the intermediate Flash developer with emphasis on development / ActionScript (over art/animation).  Something comprehensive with "best practices" and such.  I see the video-based tutorials like lynda.com and total training - but am wondering if there is anything more comprehensive and more like an "online course" with assignments, testing, etc.  I see that Adobe offers a downloadable "training library" from elementk but I see no indication of what it really is -- is it just a bunch of material you download and read or are their "courses" more interactive?  Anybody have experience with these?  Advice appreciated.  Thanks!

    lynda.com is what i use.

  • Hindi fonts for intermediate hindi reader

How to install fonts used only by some html code?
'Intermediate Hindi Reader' is a series of html files which use 2 custom fonts, jaipur.ttf and jaipurx.ttf. For PC, you have to install them, no problem. But I want to use this on my Samsung Galaxy tab. I've searched the web and have not found satisfactory explanation of how to install fonts on an Android device.
I do not think these are unicode fonts; when you display the pages on a Windows PC before installing the fonts, they display as gibberish. I believe the same thing would happen on the Android but have not tried it yet.
Other hindi sites display correctly for example BBC hindi, aaj tak, etc.
    Samsung GT-P3113, Android version 4.0.4

Update - have tried on Samsung galaxy and yes, it does display as gibberish.

  • Exporting workflow from PP CS4 for intermediate files

    Hi there,
I have native footage from Sony EX1 (mp4 or MXF container with mpeg 2 long GOP codec) which I cut and slightly filter/modify in Premiere Pro CS4.1.
Most times I shoot in 1080/50i (yes, I need that format) and need both: FullHD for Blu-ray and PAL-SD for DVDs of the same footage.
Most of you will confirm, that simply downscaling with AME gives terrible results. So I use eg. Dan Isaacs great workflow with VDub and AviSynth to deinterlace and downscale and then encode with TMPGEnc Xpress for DVDs. This gives somehow good results but I am unsure, if I am doing right.
Here is the problem: CS4 does not allow debugmode frameserver anymore so I have to render an intermediate file for further use eg with AviSynth.
But how do I get fully valid intermediate video files out from CS4? Uncompressed AVI is pure horror, its slow rendering, even on an i7-PC, and giant in file size. I would like to export with HuffYuv or Lagarith codec, for example. But everybody says, EX1-footage is, as all HD footage, TopFieldFirst. When exporting "Microsoft AVI" with those codecs one has to choose BottomFieldFirst - all other tries result in black video. I assume only BFF is valid in Microsoft AVI, somehow.
I would like to use Cineform but converting footage with NeoScene is only possible from HDV/AVCHD-camcorders and when exporting with its codec as Microsoft AVI it has the same BFF-only-problem. And I cannot afford NeoHD which would do my job perfectly with EX1-footage.
How the heck do you export HD footage (with TopFieldFirst) for further use from PP CS4, please?
Any hint is appreciated, at the moment I am lost,
    thanks a lot in advance!

    Hi Ann,
I use MPEG2 as the codec.  When you set M and N frames to 1 in the export settings dialog, you get an I-frame-only MPEG file.  That's essentially an intra-frame compression as opposed to MPEG2 DVD encoding, which is a temporal, inter-frame compression (and very lossy).  When I set the bit rate for the I-frame-only MPEG2 file to 100 Mbps, it's visually lossless.  I set the Profile to 4:2:2 to preserve the color data and the Level to High to allow the very high bit rate.
Sources for my tests have been AVCHD footage from a Panasonic HMC-150 camera (not mine, unfortunately!) and some AVC and MPEG2 HD transport streams.  I've tested 1080i60, 1080p24, 1080p30, 720p60, 720p30 and 720p24.
I don't use MRQ to export the intermediate because no scaling or deinterlacing needs to be done to the HD footage.  The intermediate file gets exported at the same frame size and field order as the source.  All of the scaling and deinterlacing (if necessary) is done by the hd2sd script in AviSynth.  So my intermediate exports run just a bit faster than real time on my 8-core system.
(Big kudos again to Dan Isaacs not only for the hd2sd script, but for giving me the proper settings for the MPEG2 intermediate export.)

  • CS6, format for intermediates

I've got some footage that needs noise reduction. Since I've already got AE, I'm going to use AE's "remove grain" effect to do the job. Unless there's a better way in the Production Premium CS6 suite?
I've already found that doing this from PPro by using a "replace with AE comp" dynamic link has a huge negative impact on the performace of exporting from PPro. Same as it does in CS5. And I want to avoid this on this new project.
It seems the accepted way to deal with this is to render an intermediate file from AE, and replace the source file in the PPro project with this new de-noised file. I'm OK doing this, although I've never done it before.
How is this normally done from AE? What's a PPro-friendly file format for the intermediate?
I'm doing this from a win7 machine, and my capture CODEC is AVCHD. To make matters worse, this is a multi-cam project in PPro. Only one camera needs the de-noise treatment. Will I have to render both cameras' source files into the same intermediate format, or can I mix and match source file format (AVCHD and XYZ) in a PPro sequence?
I'm sure I'm not the first noobie to face this. Surely there's a tutorial out there somewhere? But I'm not finding the right search terms to uncover it. Somebody point me in the right direction?

    Jim Simon wrote:
Well, here's what I noticed in a short test using the Noise filter.
Exporting from PP via AME took 40 seconds and pegged the CPU.  Exporting from AE to the same settings and location took 44 seconds and also pegged the CPU.
Make of that what you will.

Finally found the cause, documented in a document I've read uncounted times trying to figure this out. A guy on the AE forum was kind enough to make me read it and finally understand it. I didn't get it because it was just incomprehensible to me that Adobe would intentially refuse multiprocessing. And frankly, I still have problems wrapping my head around that concept. I mean, this is 2012! This is CS6!
The important bit for this thread is just this: "Note:  A linked After Effects composition will not support Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously multiprocessing."
Make of that what you will.
Given this, I don't see very many alternatives to an intermediate file, using the AE render queue (which does support multiprocessing, go figure).

  • Best export settings for intermediate clips to be further edited later

I shoot AVCHD show-long footage of live performances and then cut it up into individual song clips after making a few touchups like replacing and syncing the audio from the mixing board, etc. I then export these from the work area as individual files so I can work on them later like adding titles, and fade ins and outs, and tweaking the audio further. I then export as final files for whatever purpose I need such as BluRay or DVD chapters, YouTube uploads, etc. The question I have is, what's the absolute best format to export these intermediate files as full 1920x1080 to avoid as much recompression as possible? File size is not too much of a consideration at this point since they're usually only a few minutes long and I want to maintain as much quality as I can. I'm using PP CS4 and PP CS6-trial on a new computer I just built and I'm getting amazingly fast renders and exports compaired to what I'm used to (just had to brag about that)!
    Thanks,

    MikeAiken wrote:

Others have answered your direct question. The implied question is about workflow and how to maintain maximum quality. One way is to avoid making an intermediate.
You don't have to work on your footage in separate projects. You can work on separate sequences inside one project. If you do this, you avoid having to create an intermediate and maintain highest possible quality.
What I've done before in similar situations is to create subclips and then create another sequence and work on those subclips there. The subclips reference the original file non-destructively as is PPro's way, so maximum quality is maintained. When you're done adding titles, transitions, audio work, etc. then you just export this sequence just like you normally do.
PPro is a huge and complex program, and there are usually many ways to accomplish the same task. I'm only bring this up as an alternative way of accomplishing this task on the off chance you hadn't thought of it. Clearly, YMMV.

  • Can anyone recommend a good instruction book for intermediate Mac users?

I have been using Mac for 3 years now so am not a total beginner, but still need help in many areas of OS X use. These forums are brilliant and thanks to the willing help from more expert members I have learnt a lot ( thank you), however there are times when just having a book open in front of you is the easiest way to get to grips with something. Can anyone recommend a good user manual for people like me who don't need a real beginners guide but also don't want a mind numbing, in depth, advanced text. I already have Maria Langers Visual Quickstart Guide which is useful but is exactly what it says, a quick start, and David Pogues Missing Manual which I find a little frustrating as he seems to fall short of explaining exactly how to do something after he says it can be done!
I guess what I am really after is a clearly written book that is good for beginners and more advanced users alike, with screen shots to show you what you should be doing.
    Grateful for any suggestions.

    Hi again,
Many thanks for the feedback and the star!
For troubleshooting, Dr Smoke's Troubleshooting Mac OS X eBook is invaluable. Again, I have the Panther edition. I haven't, yet, felt the need for the Tiger edition with so many of the tips available free via his FAQs.
The only drawback, of course, is that when one is in a fix and possibly unable to boot up, the e-book isn't accessible unless one has a copy on another Mac.

  • Acceptible output format for intermediate Video clip?

I have a 24minute project that I created in CS5. It's 1280x720 and 30936 frames.  The intent is to use it as source video in Premerie Pro where I'll be adding music and some minor titles.  The piece will need to be burned to DVD (sadly) and projected in a auditorium. So with all that, I'm wondering what the most efficient means for rendering the comp would be? I like to create in HD when possible as you never know how something might be used down the road.
I started exporting the comp as an .avi. I was 1% into the render and already the file was a massive 7GB. So I stopped as there's no way I can manage files that large.
Currently, I'm rendering out in H.264 and at 50% in size (720). But at the 6% mark, the m4v file is only 5MB, and the aac file is1MB.
Since either method is telling me that the render is going to take 16hrs, I can't afford to have to do it again - just spot fixes as needed.  Will the H.264 method get me what I need? Is there a more preferred way to make a source comp for PremierePro?
My machine is running Windows7 64-bit and has a 6-core 1090T chip and 8GB of ram. I'm using NucleoPro3 for the render. Still though, 16 hours?
    Thanks.

So let me ask: with 15hrs remaining, would I be better off ending it now and do as you suggest with the smaller comp and full field render?
    I'd say definitely.
I'm working with a comp from RevoStock that's pretty intensive.
What version of AE are you using? 8 GB of RAM probably isn't enough to use multiple cores efficiently. You may want to skip Nucleo here.
I'm using a frame rate of 24 for the project.
Make sure that you conform to whichever standard you'll end up with. PAL is 25 fps, and NTSC is 29.97. DVD players can handle 23.98 (I'm pretty sure) and instigate pulldown, but make sure you author it accordingly.
Also, since you'll be projecting, you could render progressive (not interlaced) and save some time.
Also, you mention the word "export" instead of "render". You are using the render queue, right?

monitor session 1 destination remote vlan 901
these configurations work fine if I ommit AccessSw1.
So what Configuration I need at AccessSW1 to communicate fine. Please help me on this..

    Alexander,
You will have to specify the remote vlan on Sw2, just creating it won't help. Following is the config for the SW2.
Switch(config)# monitor session 1 source remote vlan 901Switch(config)# monitor session 1 destination interface fastEthernet0/5
The commands are a bit platform specific, as they are a bit different for the 6500 switches:
    For SW2 on Cisco6500
    Router(config)# monitor session 1 type rspan-destination
    Router(config-rspan-dst)# source remote vlan 2
    Router(config-rspan-dst)# destination interface gigabitethernet 1/2
