Leave color like in AE?

Hello!
I make short films as a hobby with my friends, and there are a few YouTube channels that I make sure to stay up on because they're typically loaded with helpful tips.
I just got done watching one that involved him making his green shirt be the only object with color via using a filter in AE known as "leave color" (The only green in the entire shot was the shirt). He then did the opposite and made his shirt the only B&W object, I forget what the name of the filter he used for that one was.
Thing is...I don't have AE but I do have Motion 5, and I don't recall seeing that filter or anything else in the library. However, I'm by no means an expert. I'd probably give myself like a 4 out of 10 in reference to proficency, ability, and knowledge with it; I'm much more fluid and capable in FCPX and don't use graphic effects too often. This effect, however, is one that I would love to be able to use.
Does anyone know of a similar Motion 5 ability or work around?
Thanks in advance.

How good are you at chroma keying? I think this is also known as "The Pleasantville Effect".
Duplicate your clip. Add (1st) the Filters > Keying > Keyer.
If you're keying green - this is all automatic - skip the next section.
if you're NOT keying green:
Turn the strength down to 0%
Click the Sample Color button and click and drag out a rectangle on the color you want to preserve.
(You can add multiple Sample Color rectangles if you have trouble including enough color "source" for the sampler.
Afterwards: add a Hue Saturation filter to the same clip and dial the saturation down to 0%.
Use a garbage matte to get rid of any extraneous other items that might happen to be green if you don't want them included.
Tweak the keyer, if needed, by 1st: adjusting the Matte Tools levels and 2nd: adjusting the Spill Suppression Contrast (I find this combination the easiest to use and least likely to screw up the key). (You can get relatively extreme with the Matte Tools levels control - push the Gamma/midtones all the way if necessary - but remember to work in combo with the spill contrast.)
I chroma keyed just the yellows in this example:

    As the last post suggests, call Apple and order a replacement original disc for about $17.  They will ask you the model and serial numbers.
    Your retail version of Snow Leopard OS 10.6.3 will not work on that Mac as it requires a minimum of OS X 10.6.7 to boot and operate.
    Another alternative is to again borrow another Mac to install your retail Snow Leopard into an external HD or partition, upgrade it to 10.6.8 and then clone it back to a partition on your MBP.

    The following line tells me that this is not a template file, but a document created from a template called index.dwt
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/index.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
    This means that you saved a child document as a template file at some stage.
    If you go to Modify->Templates->Detach from Template, you can remove the template structure from your document. All you then need to do is to re-save the document as a template.

  • Leave color unchanged

    IDCS4(6.0.1), Mac OS 10.5.6
    Placing images in InD with different embedded cmyk color profiles. Colour management correctly setup in InDesign (cmyk working space Fogra39). I am trying to create a PDF that shows the differences between a range of different cmyk colour profiles for a training session. From InD export to PDF (press quality settings modified) ensuring that the Output is set to Leave colour unchanged and include all profiles.
    Checking the PDF with Enfocus Pitstop the images all show up with the working document profile and not their individual profiles. Where or why is Adobe changing the colours and how can I leave them 'unchanged'?
    Any help much appreciated.
    thanks
    Teresa

    Colour Management was not set up as Off. There seems to only be one place to set colour settings in InD or Bridge - both in terms of Edit >colour settings > and then either choose something like Europe Prepress or create custome settings (I created custom settings).
    Preserve numbers from what I can see you can only set up in the 'Export' 'Output' settings. There I had used 'Leave Colour Unchanged' and 'Include all profiles'.
    I do take your point about the document taking on the settings from when it is created. So i will try tomorrow to re-create it with the correct settings from the start.
    What I am trying to show is the visual differences between profiles in terms of the complete picture and in terms of comparing the black plates, and the CMY plates. Showing both the effect that the black generation can have. And also how different profiles can alter the balance of the colours. I was also wanting them to be able to compare a range of profiles to see why certain ones are better than others. It is this last thing that I cannot do if the images are going through a further change.
    But I am also concerned in terms of helping people create high quality print PDFs, if there is a colour conversion going on in InD CS4 in the background where there should not be one.

  • Leaving color while making a photo grayscale

    I am working on a project and need to make my photos black and white while leaviing certain items of the photo in it's original color. I need to know if someone can help me out and give me some direction on this. An example of what I am trying to do is take a photo of a person and make it black and white while leaving their shirt pink. Any help is appreciated.

    I am pretty sure, but not absolutely certain, that it was "Photoshop Elements 2.0 Solutions" by Mikkel Aaland.
    If this was the book, and you have it, please let me know if the technique is there.
    I know I saw this technique somewhere, and I used it while following along. It was really wild. You are on a layer and you've made a selection. You go to fill, and as soon as you fill it with the color, everything in that color either appears or disappears immediately, based upon the selection you made and the layers.
    I have followed along with any number of books, and for some reason I have a mental block when it comes to this (layers and masks, painting and erasing). I just don't understand the concepts involved. So, I can go along, step-by-step and remove color, etc., as I've done on a number of photographs, and very effectively. Yet, I can't just sit down and do it, without the cheat sheets.
    That has been one of my biggest complaints with most of these help books. They walk you through methods, step-by-step, but they don't teach you in clear easy to understand lessons, the concepts behind what you are doing. So, a book says, set the radius to this number and the threshold to this, etc., and VOILA, there you have it. Great, but how do I do it on a different photo?

  • Display Color like Negative

    My 2 yr old hit some buttons on my iBook and now my entire display looks like the negative colors in a photograph. Can't seem to find what to do to get my regular colors back????

    Open the Universal Access pane of System Preferences, click on the Seeing tab, turn off White on Black, and drag the Contrast slider all the way to the left.

  • Why don't my event show up in different colors like i hear they would

    when i watched the video of ipad 2, it showed that the events were in diferent colors to help distinguish them, but on my ipad it is all purple

    I believe that if you are only using the calendar dirently on the iPad then you will only get the one colour. If you sync your calendar from, for example, iCal on a Mac, then you can get different coloured categories from there. But if are not syncing from anywhere then I think that you will only get the one colour. I sync my iPad's Calendar with my Mac's iCal so I get the different coloured categories from there on my iPad.

  • How you can change region color like in GB

    In GB you can change the region color from orange to purple, by doing control/option/G/click. Orange tracks will not respond to tempo or pitch changes, until they are changed to purple.
    Is there a way to do the same in Logic? turn the blue regions into being able to respond to pitch/tempo change? thanks

    Yes, good point. I assumed he's talking about audio that's been imported, not audio that was recorded directly into this particular project, because he's making a comparison to orange tracks in GB, which are the former.
    Maybe he'll clarify which situation he's talking about. I should have asked, because he might indeed just be thinking of the simpler case.

  • Any plot in LV can display point density by color like this

    I saw a plot function of activeX as attached screen.
    It can display the data point to point and show the desity of the point by color. Also it has a legend at the right side.
    Is there any same function in LV? Thanks.

    You can do whatever you want with a little bit of coding. For full flexibility I would recommend a picture indicator, though.
    > Can I put a color legend at the right side? It is possible to put more color gradient.
    At the moment, it uses an intensity graph. As I said, you can show the z-scale and define any gradient you want.

  • How do I Change #ffffff to a solid pantone color like Rhodimine Red?

    I work for a catalog in which alot of products come in photographed white or a light faded color and they want me to digitally add color. Normally this is no problem but now they want me to use only pantone colors so everything is uniform.  Most items come in white, but occaisionally they come in beige or tan and this throws off my color correction is there any way to ensure I'm changing everything to the same pantone color? For example both attached files are two different cars painted with washed out colors is there anyway I can get them to be the EXACT same shade of Rhodimine Red?

  • How to change Image color like Channel mixer

    Hello everybody
    I have this problem can anyone help me:
    I want to change Channel mixer color,
    for example, change original Image color to B&W.
    My code:
    docRef.channels[0].color.rgb.red = 30;
    docRef.channels[0].color.rgb.green = 59;
    docRef.channels[0].color.rgb.blue = 11;
    docRef.channels[1].color.rgb.red = 30;
    docRef.channels[1].color.rgb.green = 59;
    docRef.channels[1].color.rgb.blue = 11;
    docRef.channels[2].color.rgb.red = 30;
    docRef.channels[2].color.rgb.green = 59;
    docRef.channels[2].color.rgb.blue = 11;
    But not working in scripting, seems a mistake.
    How should I correct this code? Thank you for your help.

    Hi Michael,
    I try changed 12 parameters in array of num in my js,
    doc.layers[0].mixChannels([[30,59,11,0],[30,59,11,0],[30,59,11,0]],false);
    doc.layers[0].mixChannels([[30,59,11,0]],true); ------  this way is better than ↑
    doc.layers[0].mixChannels([[60,30,10,0],[30,10,60,0],[10,60,30,0]],false);
    doc.layers[0].mixChannels([[39,77,19,0],[35,69,17,0],[27,53,13,0]],false);
    They would show new color as I wantted,
    I forgot ' When monochrome = true, the maximum number of channel value specifications is 1. '
    Thank you for your recommendation.

    Hi To All
      My Client asked the Causal Leave are 12 per annum.
    if i used 2 leave.so the remainng leaves should be carry forward .So next year will be 10 Days,Ok.
    Now Client need in 1 st Month its has to shown all the leaves if he wont use those leaves than Half of the leaves should be close.That means he can eligable for 5 leaves on FEB.and MARCH 2,50 Days
    End of three months all leaves cant be useful;
    How to CONFIGURE?

    Write a PCR for carry forward and another one for your Lapse logic
    Try to store carry forward leaves in a seperate quota type(xx).
    HRS=FRxxC can be used to find remaining leaves of the above quota type
    use the above operation every month and reduce the leave by half at the start of every month.

  • [Solved] How do I get bash to be colorful like in Gentoo?

    I know that this isn't Gentoo, so yall don't need to remind me just in case you were thinking about doing that, but I also know that this IS LINUX (sorry that was a 300 reference, you know, "this is Sparta," et cetera, et cetera (Yeah, I know it was unnecessary, but I couldn't help it, the temptation was too tantalizing)) and therefore what bash can do on one Linux Box should be able to happen on, more or less, any Linux Box.

    Thank you, I tried searching for different kinds of terminals, but I wasn't familiar with any of the one's listed (or at least I wasn't familiar with them by name, though I might have recognized them if I had used them, though I'm not sure) except for the one that I remember having used in ArchBang, which I liked very much because it's terminal showed so much info regarding my system.
