Leaver Employee Org Unit Assignment..

Dear All,
In our current system when some employee leaves the company while performing the leaving action we make the postion assigned to the employee as default position while we leave the org unit value the way it was..
We are not sure what should be the best practice. Should the org unit be also made to contain the default position.. If answer is yes then will there be any impact on retro in case we have to run the payroll of the employee even thought he /she has left the company..

Hi Vidya,
Upon Termination, the standard SAP functionality is to default Position to 99999999 and Org Unit to the Existing one....
Has no much impact.
However, in a Scenario where you want to default the Org Unit to 00000000, you may do the following...
1. Maintain a dummy org unit in Table T527X with Org Unit ID as '00000000' (Just to ensure that this value is available in the Table and in future, no error should show up)
2. Create Dynamic Action as follows:
0000  06   02   *    ***Defaulting Org Unit to 00000000 on Termination**
0000  06   04   P   T001P-MOLGA='10' ** Enter your Country Grouping here
0000  06   06   P   SY-TCODE='PA40'
0000  06   08   P   P0000-MASSN='TERMINATION ACTION'
0000  06   10   I    COP,0001,,,(P0000-BEGDA),(P0000-ENDDA)
0000  06   12  W   P0001-ORGEH='00000000'
3. Edit the Infogroup for TERMINATION and delete the entry for 0001.

    You can not assign contact person to org unit.
    See the basic concept is org struct represents the company. And contact person is third party which is not the part of company. So it is not possible to assign contact person to org unit. Only BPs created in role Employee can be assigned to org units through positions.

  • Moving Employee Org Unit to Another Org Unit

    Hello,
    +What is the best way and steps to properly move an employee from one Org Unit to Another Org Unit without messing up prior configuration. I need to move this employee from Manager (Org Unit A) to another Manager (Org Unit B).  Would editing the Org Unit number or changing the Org Unit number work. I have a exact new validity date as well.+

    Thanks for your indepth reply. I guess there is some steps involved based on your ans.
    Per your answer: in PA, you create the Action for reassignment and take into consideration the possible changes to Quotas, Benefits, etc... is there anyway to keep prior info/configured data and bypass these steps - copy/paste/dragg feature to the new org structure- so data stays the same and no other possible changes occur.  I understand that position is linked to Org Unit. I can copy the position to the new Org/and then assign the position to the new Org Unit. Does the record automatically get delimited(prior record). Are there any additional steps to verify the data validity and that this employee got reassigned properly.
    Also how would I test the change before transf. it to production.

  • Mismatch between Employee Org Unit and HRP1001

    Hi,
    I am facing one peculiar issue. The Org Assignment for a person is showing a set of Position, Job and Org Unit. But when I check the HRP1001 table for that position, the OU Relation shown is different.
    On prodding, user told me that, they have deleted the relations table completely and renamed Org units and loaded fresh relations (O-O, O-S).
    My understanding is: PA0001 will pickup the relationship from HRP1001.
    Please correct me if I am wrong and how do I rectify this issue,

    Technically, I don't see why not. However, it would probably be much more cumbersome to maintain at position than at org level. Also, a new hire ee would have to be assigned to an org, but may be assigned to a dummy position earlier on. This would mean there's more risk for IT0001's record not to have cc populated .  It's just my 2 cents.

  • How to assign & changed org. unit to employee Id

    We want to move some employees from one organizational unit to newly created one in transaction code PPOM_OLD.
    In PPOM_OLD i created new Org. unit ,assign position then assigned existing employee pernr.
    But when i see in PA30 the organizational unit remains same.
    Even when i observed in PA0001 table i can see two entries for one employee number the old entry is with organizational unit where as new one doesn't have organizational unit at all
    Please guide me how can i do changes.

    Go to pa30- given the Perner-select infotype action 0000-period- all-click on overview
    Now you can view all records related to infotype action-select the new created records-choose icon delete.
    Now create the new organization unit, Position & their relationships through t-code pp01.
    now transfer of employee from old position to new position through action tcode –pa40- select appropriate personal action (promotion, reorganization, transfer etc.)
    Put the perner and effective date –execute –in next steps change details as per requirement i.e. in second part- organ. Assignment –
    New position details –xxxxxxxx  /Personnel area-xx/Employee group-x/Employee sub group-xx
    Save.
    System goes to next info type  0001-
    In the same way give the require details & save.

  • BP - Employee relationships to an org unit and changes

    Dear Colleagues of CRM,
    The scenario pertains to an employee and its relationship to an org unit to which it is assigned. Once an employee is assigned to an org unit, a relationship too gets created with the Employee as BP. This relationship has the contact info that was available in the BP master data at that point of time.
    Later on, if the employee is transferred and hence assigned to another org unit, the assignment in the org unit is changed to the new org unit. On the new org unit assignment, a new relationship gets created with the BP. However, the earlier relationship doesn't get deleted when the earlier assignment to the org unit was deleted. If I attempt to delete the relationship in the BP, it doesn't allow and prompts to u201Cu2026.Change through the HR mastersu201D.  The HR master though has nothing of the contact details vis-à-vis this relationship.
    The existence of this initial relationship is causing error in all my dependent programs / activities which pick up the contact details of this employee and hence trigger emails etc.
    Request solution as to how do I remove this u2018oldu2019 and irrelevant relationship from the BP. It may be noted that the subsequent changes of assignment u2013 deletions in particular u2013 are deleting the relationship too but the initial one exists all throughout.
    Seek your kind advise to resolve the matter .

    I need to find the employee org unit based on the latest one.....
    i just want to know if an employe is Transfered from the org unit .....we can check it from the ORG unit.

    sop if an empployee 5000 org unit belongs to IT of employee 1000 and NOW he transfered out of IT with current 6000 org unit then how can we read that 5000 ?

    now when i check the org unit it is 6000 with end da 12/31/9999.

    Here in the loop what is the logic we need to write to pick up the previous org unit please suggest

  • Org unit Hierarchy structure  at Key date

    Hello Friends,
    We have an issue with  displaying HR Org unit hierarchy structure  between two calendar months.
    The BI Report has a selection parameter to select Org unit hierarchy , Calendar month From  and Calendar month To
    The BI Report is  to display the no.of sick absence days for employees in a chosen Org unit hier.
    Employee  A had a sick absence of 5 days  in  the month 04.2011  in the Org unit X .  The same employee had a sick absence of 4 days in 05.2011.The Org unit X then delimit in 05.2011 , the Org unit X is no longer in Org structure from 05.2011.
    When we run the report for 04.2011  to 04.2011 , the employee A is showing  absence   under Correct Org unit ie X with correct Org structure .
    When  we run the Report for 05.2011 to 05.2011 , the employee A is showing absence under  hierarchy Org unit Not assigned which is OK .
    But the issue is when we run the Report from 04.2011 to 05.2011 , The employee A absence days 9 (5 +4 ) showing under Not assigned Org unit hierarchy structure which is  the latest Org unit .
    When I deactivate the Org unit hierarchy  and choose tech name of Org unit , It is showing correct Org unit key
    But The user would like to see 5 days under org unit X  and 4 days under Not assigned with  Correct Org unit hier structure  when we run the Report from 04.2011 to 05..2011  .
    We have a user Exit variable  for  the Key date  in the Bex Report  which  seems to be taking only one date at any time .
    Is  there any way to get the correct figures under Org unit hier structure where  employee had absence in when we put range of calendar months on a selection screen ?
    Any advice appreciated.

    Hi,
    You can try adding two more attributes to Org Unit as "Calender month from" and "Calender month to".
    In these attributes maintain the validity period for the corresponding master data.
    For example, in your case you can maintain the master data as:
    Employee | Org Unit | Calender month from |Calender month to | sick absence
    A | X | 4.2011| 4.2011 | 5 days
    A |    | 5.2011 | 05.2011 | 4 days
    And in report use variables for Calender month from" and "Calender month to".
    Hence, when user executes the report with selection as:
    Calender month from" = 04.2011
    "Calender month to"    =  05.2011
    The data will be read from master data based on these selections along with key date and report will show output as expected.
    Employee | Org Unit | Calender month from |Calender month to | sick absence
    A | X | 4.2011| 4.2011 | 5 days
    A |    | 5.2011 | 05.2011 | 4 days

  • Best praxis for determining a  cost center for an HR org unit in PPM ?

    Hello all.
    We have defined the HR Org structure directly in PPM backend. Later the intention is that an interface should transfer this data from HR.
    The HR orgstructure defined works fine for the staffing process (with "resource manager via responsible organization"). 
    We have however run into some problems with the MLC & costing part.  The intention is to use manual MLC linking tasks/phases to PS WBS-elements (task based controlling).
    If we leave the org unit field blank in the cProject project project definition  we run into the message "No account assignment exists for the project defintion - no costing" and the systems rolls back from the assignment made.
    If we however assign an orgunit in the project defintion we instead get the message "No cost center could be determined for org unit 123...".
    <u>We therefore need to be able to determine a cost center for the Org Unit assigned to be able to proceed. How is this then best done?</u>
    There is a master cost center assigned to the orgunit in HR but not in PPM backend where this option does not seem to be available.
    With task based controlling the cost center does not really matter so it could possibly be hardcoded via a BADI (?) but is this really the way this should be done?
    Any suggestions?

    Hi and thanks for the reply.
    We will test with an ALE replicated structure so that the object ID becomes the same in the two systems as soon as possible.
    Pending that we will try the BADI option. Here I am however not sure what it is we really expect the BADI to do.  Which field should be populated with the cost center (the fields available are mainly project characteristics)?
    I also eventually found some information regarding this in the PPM 4.0 help.  I enclose info regarding this below.

    b) choose Collaboration projects>Accounting Integration>General Information about Accounting integration>Derivation of Organizational data.
    As I read this the system derives this as follows in case of task-based or role-based costing with no resource assignment:
    1) Look for the two BADIs mentioned to derive the cost center
    2) If no result there it looks for an org unit in the cProject header (where I assume having the Org Unit with the same Object ID in backend and ERP enables this option)
    3) If no result there the system looks for a "requesting cost center" in the account assignment object (WBS element or internal order)

    Hi Rahul,
    We don't assign the Organization unit to the user in the SU01. In SU01 we assing the PFCG roles and authorization related stuff.
    Rather we create the Organization model, assign positions and then assign the user to the relevant position under the required organization unit using the tcode "PPOMA_CRM".
    When you setup the Organization determination procedure, then automatically while creating the transaction, the Organization Unit of the person who is creating the Transaction gets determined.

    In transaction PPOMA_BBP we can see Org unit assigned to position(S) and Central person(CP).
    How to unassign or delete the Position and Central person from org unit?

    Once I had closed all the milestones of the firt implementation project(1. Design Accepted - 2 Solution Accepted - 3 Go Live Readness Acceptance) and tested some cenarios I found an error in the organization structure. To solve this problem I created a new Job D a new employee and had tried to assign this new employee as an org unit manager. The problem is that whem I Open the field " Select Organizational Unit Manager" the system does not show this new employee that I just have created. Does anybody knows whats is wrong?     That´s the problem.
    I can´t assign this new employee to the org unit.
    The system does not list the new employees to be assigned. Only the old employees are listed.
    I´m in the first implementation Project and i closed all the milestones.
    Do you know if it can cause these problens?
    Should I open a new Project?
