Leaving PC world and want to transfer iPhone information
My first Apple, so be kind if this question is lame: I bought an iPhone and synced it to my PC with XP for a few months. Now that I bought an iMac, I want to transfer everything over to the new unit. It won't sync.
John
First of all... congratulation on your new iMAC... you're going to love it (as if you don't already, right?).
You should be able to sync everything except for your music. I have a similar situation. I also used to sync to my PC ONLY BECAUSE I had all my music on the PC. After some time I decided to sync to my macbook so I could take advantage of the iCal sync.
Now I sync everything EXCEPT for music to my macbook... and when I have the urge for new tunes I synce JUST the music to my PC.
You should be able to achieve the same results.
Can you describe in more detail about the "won't sync" issue?

I have recently bought a new pc and want to transfer my music library from my iphone to itunes on my new pc
I too have just purchased a new pc and want to transfer EVERYTHING from my iPhone to the new pc. I am unable to access my old pc for the files. I have been able to transfer what I purchased on my phone but nothing else. Is there anyway to just transfer everything without having to have access to the old pc?

Greetings this evening, I just purchased an iphone 5s and want to transfer some of my itunes from my mac running 10.6.7 to my new iphone 5s.I downloaded version 11.1 from the itunes website, restarted my computer but it wont recoginize the new 11.1 version which it tells me I need to sync songs from mac to 5S.Even though I downloaded version11.1 it still says I'm running version 10? How can I get my itunes from my mac onto my new phone and have them in itunes on the phone? Love my music! Thank You !
You have to update to 10.6.8 first.
Then, if your machine qualifies, this explains how to get Mavericks:

This explains whether your machine is capable of Mavericks installation:

Under Snow Leopard I used a WD My World NAS to back up my Mac Pro (Mid 2010). When I upgraded to Lion I am unable to access the backup because the NAS does not yet support AFP. I have now bought a Time Capsule and want to transfer the old backup onto it.
How can I recover the NAS back up to put on my new Time Machine.
Talking to Apple Support Adviser was a waste of time on case number 239647273
Any thoughts or pointers?Keep the old OS around and just kick the tires and test new OS. Apple has a history and habit of breaking support in things like this.
You can use TimeMachine as one level of backup, and even there there were changes with Lion, I would always recommend foremost backup clones of every volume. And clone (SuperDuper etc) can be stored on something like HP NAS Media Server which also was supporting TimeMachine, iTunes - until Apple made that harder and more their own proprietary format.

Cloning as a Backup Strategy
Rather than "upgrade" I would clone the system, and do a clean install, then allow Setup Assistant to import your files.

i just bought an imac and want to transfer all my music from an iphone to imac - how is this done please
1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.
also, there are PhoneView and iRip. -

I currently have Photoshop CS5.1 on my Mac and want to transfer it to my newly purchased Mac Book Air. How can I do that?
Just install it like you did the first time (do not try to transfer it from the old machine in any way) - you can download thru your account if you purchased it as a download originally - otherwise there is a link for downloading below. Your serial number should be available thru your Adobe account online if your registered the software previously.

If you like you can leave it on the first machine as a backup because you are allowed to have two activated installations. If you wish to remove it from the older machine you should deactivate it first (open an application and choose Help -> Deactivate). -

I have photoshop7 and want to transfer pictures /video from i phone5.
What OS and platform in the comp with PS7 on it?
That's FAR more important than PS7 is in this equation. Once you GET the pictures to transfer, you can do whatever you want with them, with whatever software you have.
But... if your iPhone is iOS 7, you may have troubles unless it's OS 10.7 (Mac) or Windows 7 or 8. -

Due to divorce, all my music is on my iTunes and iPod. I have had to buy a new laptop and want to transfer the library to the new computer before deauthorizing the old one. I dont want to have to use an external drive every time I want to listen to my music. How can I do this and have the same basic iTunes setup as before? HELP!
You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. Items that it does not find in the catalog it'll upload and store these in the cloud for you and you can download them on your devices. See http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/ -
I am interested in purchasing a new PC and wanted to transfer all of the music on my Itunes onto my new computer's Itunes the easiest was possible. Any suggestions?
These are two possible approaches that should work to move the existing library to the new laptop.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase are reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your library or a backup of it then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Upscaling and noise reduction in ACR
I've been thinking about upscaling images and the best time to do so (if I need to of course) in my workflow. As I understand it, it's always best to carry out any noise reduction prior to upsampling an image, as this helps avoid increasing the size

While upgrading iphoto database, the program stops responding.
I updated my iPhoto, but when the progam opens it says it must upgrade the iphoto library. When I do this, it stops responding near the end of the upgrade.
