  • Bug lecture PDF

    Bonjour,
    Merci d'avance

That tells us nothing, since we do not even know your Windows version.
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

After having certifying a PDF document with adobe acrobat 9.3.3 a endless user can't read the information of the certificate. The message is written in the purpose of this mail : ".. unknown validty certification". Can someone help to know how to solve this problem and how works the certificat (for a endless user) with adobe reader ?

  • HT204365 I am trying to get a series of 13 lectures on pdf on ipad so I can look at them. I don't understand the procedure.

    Two issues among others:
First, how do you deal with reading pdfs? I need to be able to read 13 lecture pdf's which are normally downloadable. I have the app ibooks installed on the ipad2.
Two, if you have been using Microsoft word as I have, how do I create compatible and exchangeable documents that can be filed and easily read?

For your first question, there are many ways, but the one I like is :
    1- download this app (PDF-notes free) https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pdf-notes-free-for-ipad-pdf/id391487223?mt=8
2- add your documents to the app from iTune ( little bit time consuming, but good if you are just going to do this once)
3- open a Dropbox account and drop your documents to dropbbox then retrive them from the app. I prefer this way, which allow me to see my file from my cpmuter as well as iPad and iPhone ! it takes time to do it for the first time.
for your second question, I have seen it done once, but never did it my self. Check out this video

    Good luck !

  • Why is this simple PDF file not searchable?!? Someone please help!!

    Hi all!
I DESPERATELY need to figure out why this PDF file is not searchable, and how to fix it. It's from a teacher of mine at my university, and basically I want to be able to make all of the PDF's she gives out searchable since there is a lot of content. I'm running Adobe Reader 11, ver. 11.0.10, on an early 2014 Macbook Air running OS X Yosemite ver. 10.10.1. I've tried using the search function, the advanced search function, and I've looked for the option to turn OCR on (couldn't find it)....and none of these attempts have resolved the issue.
The weird thing about this is I've NEVER had a problem searching thru ANY PDF on this Mac -- including really, really complex lecture PDFs from other professors -- so I can't figure out why these are any different. Is it because this PDF was exported out of a Powerpoint presentation (I think)? Or something else? Does anyone have any ideas?
Lastly, I'm attaching a screenshot (below) so that if any of you give me any directions ("Look under the [such and such] toolbar"), you can see first exactly what I see.
THANKS guys for any input and consideration!

There are some issues with this PDF file.  It's not tagged but even still it has some real problems.  I checked the file to see what created it and it was something called "Wine Postscript Driver" and the PDF Producer was "GPL GhostScript 9.10"  When you check the file in Preflight then you will begin to understand that this is a poorly created PDF file.  Here is a bit of the PDF Syntax report:

  • Pdf's in preview!

When I open a PDF in Preview it looks fine, but when I print, the page has a different font and all the symbols and graphics are missing. This is making it very hard for me to print off my lecture notes, any ideas?
    Thank You

That's no good. And I'm really sorry that you downloaded adobe acroread.
I wish I knew how to fix your Preview. In the meantime, short of using acroread, you could try using Terminal. Say the document you want to print is in named lectures.pdf and is in your Documents folder. Then open a Terminal and type
    <pre>lpr Documents/lectures.pdf</pre>
Hopefully that will print, and print correctly, particularly if the HP is your default printer. (Let me know if it doesn't print, because it might mean that it is in the print queue for another printer, which might prove surprising should you find yourself connected to it at some point in the future!)

  • Hey, is there a way to put own PDF's into the iTunes U App?

Our professors gave us several lecture-PDF's but my University isn't a member of iTunes U. Is there a way to put these PDF's in the app anyway, to use the note-feature etc.?

  • Converting digital edition to PDF

    Hi there
I've bought a digital edition ebook, which my Sony Reader won't read. Is there a way to convert the digital edition book into a PDF?
    Cheers

By block I mean the text box that can be inserted. What I did was copy all of the text to the clipboard, delete the text box, insert a new text box, and paste the text. I had to reset the bullets and such, but it was a standard text block. When I printed to PDF, it was still text. That was the observation I was making that there appears to be something associated with the various text blocks that you have that is making the PDF creation give graphics rather than text. Unfortunately, I am not a big OFFICE user and would have to hunt to see if I could find the related properties.
I have not resolved the problem yet. You can download the modified lecture.pptx and lecture.pdf that have copied the first page and then copied the text of the main box, deleted the box, and put the text in a new box. The end result is that the PDF is actually text for this part. I did this with the PDF plugin from MS, but get the same results with Acrobat. The URLs are http://wadavis.ece.vt.edu/VTAG/lecture.pdf and http://wadavis.ece.vt.edu/VTAG/lecture.pptx. I have observed in the PPT file that the new text box has much crisper fonts than in the original text box. So something is definitely happening with the formatting of the box, but I don't have a clue. If I just copy the text out of the box and then retype, the same problem occurs, so it is box related.
I have been to the slide design and other places and can find no formatting issues that seem relevant. It definitely seems to be some formatting issue in PPT.

  • TechEd 07 DVDs

We recently attended Munich Teched....though we got login details where i can download all lecture PDFs , wondering wehtehr SAP provides DVDs for these sessions as well ?

    Hi Kasu,
Rich Heilman is referring to <b>Virtual SAP TechEd ’07</b>, an online compilation of over 150 conference sessions recorded live at SAP TechEd ’07 Las Vegas. (We discontinued conference DVDs a few years ago.)
SAP TechEd ’07 Munich (and Las Vegas) registrants who purchased full-conference registration receive complimentary access to Virtual SAP TechEd ’07.
Virtual SAP TechEd ’07 includes selected session content from all nine SAP TechEd ’07 Las Vegas conference tracks. Each recorded session includes an audio track, streaming video of the session speaker and demo screen (where applicable) as well as synchronized PowerPoint slides. PDFs of the presentation slides are available for download.
You can find Virtual SAP TechEd ’07 in the <b>Subscriptions</b> area here on SDN.
We hope to see you next year at either SAP TechEd ’08 Berlin, Oct 14-16 or SAP TechEd ’08 Las Vegas, Sept 8-12.
    Kind regards,

  • In Preview, when I add text annotations to my PDF (lecture note slides), they look fine until I close it and reopen it, and then they are rotated 90 degrees. How do I fix this and keep it from happening again?

In Preview, when I add text annotations to my PDF (lecture note slides), they look fine until I close it and reopen it, and then they are rotated 90 degrees. How do I fix this and keep it from happening again?

I have the same problem with lectures slides.
Furthermore, sometimes the text box, when doube-clicking, turns  the text into a one-liner. Causing the text box to sometimes get 3. times wider than the pdf itself.

By pressing [cmd + I] the Inspector opens up and clicking on the rightmost tab 'Annotations' you should be able find those Annotations again. I do this regularly to find the empty annotations I accidentally create while clicking through slides.

No music in my headphones to my iPod music never leaves only my headset my speakers.
If you verified that the headphones work OK on another device:
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Check also Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing. Make sure that the sound balance is not set all the way to "R".
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Seems you have a bad headphone jack or other hardware problem.

  • How do i use ibooks for saving my lecture notes / power point slides please?

Hi, how do I use ibooks for savng / storing my lecture notes on please? (on either a iphone or ipad). Also, can I save powerpoint slides to it too? thanks.

iBooks can only read two formats -- .epub and pdf.  So you have to convert your lecture notes or powerpoints to one of those.  To do that, check the Save, Export, or Share functions of whatever app you are using to create your notes.
