Sometimes The LED on the adapter connector doesn't light up when attached to the computer and computer doesn't sharge. When I eject it and inverse it, it works! sometimes it doesn't work in both sides. Whats the problem?

Try a different charger. If your computer is under warranty so is the charger and Apple will replace it.

    Problem #1.
The first top bar has a firefox logo at upper left corner and the words "Ask a Question/Mozilla Support-Mozilla Firefox" are on the logo's right side. The first top bar has minimize, overlap and close buttons at the upper right corner. When I click on the logo, a short menu drops from it, which has choices like "restore"..."close".
The second top bar has the word "Firefox" at the upper left corner with a downward arrow beside it. They look like white letters contrast to the orange background of a huge button. When I click on it, a double paned menu shows up. It has many choices such as new tab, new private window...bookmarks, history, download...exit. The second top bar also has minimize, overlap and close buttons at the upper right corner, too. There are 7 word titles "file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, tools and help" below that huge orange button at the upper left corner. The logos and the address bar are below the 7 words.
I don't need 2 top bars. They occupy too much screen property.

It sounds like there is either an application or an extension of Firefox that is causing this problem.

  • Computer won't turn on and the power cord doesn't light up

My problem with the computer is that it will not turn on. The battery is fully charged, power cord is plugged into a working outlet. I have held down the power button for 10 second or even longer. Nothing turns it on and the power cord doesn't light up at all. Any thing will help.
    Thanks

First, check that your AC outlet has power. Second, see this article: Intel-based iMac- What to do if your computer won't turn on and this one Resetting MacBook and MacBook Pro System Management Controller (SMC).

  • That white plastic thing that covers the dock connector

I just got my iPod mini back from a repair with Apple. It's a different iPod and it works great, but the little piece of white plastic that I used to cover the dock connector doesn't fit this one. Is this a problem? It seems like the connection could easily become dirty if it's not protected.

No, it's not a problem. Most iPods don't have a cover, just the earlier models.

  • My macbook air won't turn on and the led light on the cord doesn't light up

I can't get my macbook air to turn on and the cord light won't go on, either. It was not dead last night when I shut it down . . . any ideas?

    Hello srsymington,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To troubleshoot this issue where your MacBook Air will not power on, I'd like you to please reset the SMC as directed below.
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

  • After resetting the SMC, my Macbook is dead, doesn't charge and doesn't boot and I have no light on the adapter cord.

My Macbook pro wouldn't start (no screen activity).
So, I did a PRAM but it made noises like 3 short sounds then 3 long sounds or something like that (I never heard sounds like that coming from my macbook and it was so weird and I just can't really and exactly remember the sounds).
Because of those sounds, I read on the Internet that I had to reset the SMC, which I did perfectly according the the steps described on the Apple Support Page (I really and slowly followed the steps perfectly).
Now, instead of those sounds, I do not have anything at all : no light on the adapter cord, no sound at all, no activity, no starting sound, no screen activity, the battery more than half full is not charging at all anymore....it's like the SMC killed my computer.
My Macbook is dead. I tried repeating the SMC steps one by one many times without success. Since it was not working, afterwards, I even tried the steps in an other order (I saw that on another website) but without success.
    Can somebody help me ?

I have never heard of SMC causing anything like what you are experiencing ever. I suspect that while you were doing the SMC that you Mac suffered a catistrophic failure. Hence my suggestion to take to Apple for repair.
If you want to keep messing with it that is your call. I am done here.

  • I just brought Macbook pro(without retina display) on 15 june 2013 and since then put it on 6-7 hours of charging but still my macbook pro is not 100% charged. but why? (green light is displayed on the adapter pin)

i just brought Macbook pro(without retina display) on 15 june 2013 and when i switched it on the battery was 72 % charged and now the battery is charged to 62%, i used the charger that came with it and kept it for 6-7 hours on charging but it is not charged to 100% but why? also the green light is always on when i plug the charger with my mac book pro. Please tell me the meaning of Green light on power cord lid (mac book pro not charging or charging?) and also the other light if there like amber or any other colour.

    Hello Shailendras33,
Congratulations on your new MacBook Pro!  Thank you for providing all the information about what is going on with the charging issue.
Firstly, I found some information on page 11 of the MacBook Pro User Guide about what each color of the LED means on the Power Adapter:
When you first connect your power adapter to your MacBook Pro, an indicator light on the
MagSafe connector starts to glow.  An amber light indicates the battery is charging.  A green light indicates that the battery is fully charged.
You can find the MacBook Pro User Guide here (this is not for the latest MacBook Pro, but the information about the MagSafe adapter is true for the newest model):
    MacBook Pro User Guide
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/macbook_pro_15inch_late_2011.pdf
It sounds like you are not getting the amber light indicating your computer is charging, and you are noticing that the battery level is depleting.  I recommend resetting your System Management Controller when something like this is occurring:
You can find the full article here:

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

  • Why does it take me so many tries before I can get the amber and/ or green light to come on, on my MagSafe power adapter?

I have been having a problem for a little while now, and I have decided to overlook it for the most part. However, it is really starting to get on my nerves. The issue I don't believe is with the MacBook Pro itself, however with the MagSafe power adapter. The adapter itself is in great condition, it is brand new, but when I attach it to the computer, the computer reads that it is there, as it shows it is charging or is charged as shown by the battery indicator in the top right of the OS X toolbar. However, the amber and/ or green light doesn't come on, right away - the first time - most of the time, on the adapter head itself. I usually have to unplug it and plug it back in multiple times before I get a light to come on. I have tried to clean the adapter itself, and the MagSafe port on the computer, but that seems to only help for a short amount of time, and it doesn't look real dirty, or like any pins are stuck on the adapter. I have also tried other outlets, but that doesn't seem to help, so I don't think I am getting dirty power.

Unfortunately, it *could* be the computer. And it could be the adapter.  Aside from trying Resetting the System Management Controller there's not much you can do except taking it in for testing.

  • Power Problem (Adapter doesn't light up)

On my Powerbook, which is about 1.5 years old, the adaptor charge light went off. The battery drained after this happened (Adaptor is no longer charging). The first time this happened I tried pulling out the battery for five min, and restarting. That did the trick. The same thing happened tonight where the adaptor charge light went off, and the battery drained on down. This time pulling the battery doesn't work.
Anyone know what is likely going on here?
My Superdrive that had gone south months ago, I just had repaired a few weeks ago. The computer functioned fine after the repair. Thought I'd throw that in in case it is pertinent.
    Thanks for any help. Michael

Bad & good news: Bad—The fix I described stopped working, and my machine reverted to draining the battery and the adapter no longer powering the computer. Good—Resetting the PRAM completely solved the problem. It's been a few days now and the problem has not recurred. In fact, I couldn't get it to replicate the problem after many tries.
My next step if it hadn't worked would have been resetting the PMU. Both are described here:

  • Since update 4.2.2 the LED on my Apple TV2 doesn't work.

Since the automatic update a few days ago the front led on my Apple TV 2 doesn't light up anymore. Everything else seems to be fine with regard to navigating the interface, watching content and AirPlay from my iOs devices. I just can't tell anymore if it's on or off. I know it's not a big deal but I've got used to the little white dot under my tv.
Has anyone else had this problem and have you resolved it?

I have had the same thing happen, it will now show the light when I press a function on the remote. It may be something that was changed to show status feedback when using the remote.

    Hi,
My FP-TC-120's ready LED doesn't light up suddenly, and before that the situation of erratic reading happened sometimes, does anybody know the possible reason? what am I supposed to do now? my fieldpoint controller is FP-2000, and the other three modules are AI-110, AO-200 and RLY-422.
I expect any reply for this problem.

  • My battery port doesn't sit in the Mac properly and doesn't light up?

So I just tried to plug my battery in, and it isn't sitting correctly like it would when it normally snaps in. It also isn't lighting up.. now if I hold it a certain way it charges, but other than that - nothing.
Now my question is, does my warranty I first get with MacBook Air cover getting a replacement charger? OR am I going to have to dish out £65 to buy a new one?
    Thanks, Jasmine.

Your one year limited warranty should cover a replacement charger.
First, try here >  Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters
If troubleshooting doesn't help, make an appointment at a Genius Bar >  Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
They may need to do more than just replace the adapter.
