LED TV Problems?

Does anyone know of any kown issues or problems with the LED TV's? They are fairly new, so I am hesitant to buy one yet.

there are only very rare cases that LEDs have had issues. If it is a worry for you, upon your purchase inquire about the Geek Squad Black Tie Protection (GSBTP).
Please note that whatever I state in these forums is not a direct response from Best Buy or Geek Squad. My posts are just my own personal insights.

Led flash problem - Led flash don't work

If you can give us a few recent entries in on the page "about:crashes" that might also be helpful.

LCD/LED Monitor Problems

I have just purchased a new 2010 Mac Mini and an LG E2240S LCD - LED backlit monitor. I have this connected using a Mini DisplayPort > VGA adapter.
I have resolution set at 1920x1080 at 50Hz which seems the best setting.
The problem is everything seems very grainy and text especially looks very sharp and jagged around the edges.
Any ideas what would cause this?

The monitor should have a function that is sometimes called tuning. See if that improves the picture.

Lenovov S960 / Vibe X LED Notification Problem after Official Upgrade to Kitkat

hello Lenovo,
after i updated my phone to kitkat i found so many problems (bugs). like the contact manager crashes, no name in incoming call and the LED notification. before i updated my phone to kitkat the LED notification always blink when i recieved emails, messages, missed calls, bbm, whatsapp, and line.
but now with kitkat running my phone, the LED notifciation doesn't blink anymore everytime i recieved notifications. i already turned on the LED notification in phone settings and apps setting. am i the only one who's facing this problem or there is anybody else that facing the same problem?
please help me anybody how to solve this problem?
and i have one more question. how to keep apps running on background? apps like bbm, line and whatsapp are closed everytime i clean up the ram and never come back on again until i open the apps again. and again i face this problem after i updated my phone to kitkat.
any kind of help is very appreciated.

Hi, I found there are other issue apart from contact manager crash issue after upgrade from Jelly bean to KitKat 1. in the same way google chrome is also crashing after trying to open gmail and start enetering username2. caller name is not displaying while getting incoming or outgoing calls3. I found some suggestion in the same community website that first take a backup, delete all the contacts, and them import it back to solve the issue. But why we need to do these, why this issue is happening after upgrade4. however I deleted contacts and tried export from the storage. While doing so, Contacts->Menu->Import/Export contacts->Import from storage, it finds and displays all the .vcf files. Very good, but there is no select button to 'select all' the vcf file to import to the address book. I don't want to sit and select each .vcf file from the list to import it as there hundreds of contacts. I think 'select all' option is missing after upgrade. I heard, in kitkat version some performance issue is fixed but now it seems to be many basic functionality features are not working after upgrading. Hp 2000-354NR wifi led light problem nd thermal shutdown problem

warranty expiring next month, wifi led light started blinking irregularly and is now off completely while wifi is on, orange light wen wifi off has also started flickering like a flourescent light about to go off, and 4 thermal shutdowns when laptop was idle, on a plane surface, and cool when i felt the bottom.

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I see that you are having some problems getting your notebook to boot up properly and when you do you get that “System Temperature” error message. When you on the computer for several hours do you notice if it gets hot at all?
First try using the System File Checker tool to scan your operating system for corruptions. Then try testing the hardware to see if it a piece of hardware causing the issue. You didn't mention your operating system so I have included two documents below.

LED Clarity Problem. 8600

The LED on my HP Officejet Pro seems to be fading and harder to see. I went into Tools>Screen Brightness and can"t fix the problem. Can you Help???

Can you change the brightness of the screen but it cannot be set to bright enough? In that case you likley have a hardware issue and will need to Contact HP for service. You can check your warranty as shown here.

MSI GT660 LED manager problem

Hi all.
I have a problem with my MSI LED Manager, since i cannot open the light settings. For some reason the program is uninstalled, and the setup-file is missing. Does anyone know how to fix this? - or how i can get the missing file, called something like "msiledmanagersetup.msi"?

Led screen problem

yesterday i accidentally dropped my laptop(compaq610).led screen was gone.i have still warranty for the product. shall i go to the service center and do they change it to new screen for free or else how much do they charge for the screen?can please someone tell me about this?

A cracked screen is not a warranty item. The only coverage you might have is accidental damage insurance which you might have purchased from the store. You would remember because it is expensive, adding maybe $150-200 to the price of the laptop. So don't take it to the Service Center. They might charge $300 or more to replace it. You can do it yourself for maybe $125. Post back if you want to know how.

QIP 2500-3 LED CODE problem

The motorola QIP 2500-3 STB I own showing 'E 11' on the led screen and not showing anything on the screen with the coxial unplug. Currently, there is something wrong with my cabling of coax in side the wall right now so I can't plug it in. say if I keep it unplug, is the sympton described above normal? if not, what does it means? is it fixable by myself? I have followed the reset procedure by unplug it and plug it in like the verizon official procedure for resetting, no affect whatsoever. any reply will be appreciated.

0 is usually the indicator that the box has not been activated yet. However with the coax dissconnected there is no signal getting to the box to tell it what its status is. So its got the 0 display because it cant display anything else. Without the cable connected, it doesnt know what time it is, if it is activated or not, or anything else. This will correct when you get the coax reconnected and it can get the signal again.

Smart Tv led 32L433DG - problem wifi

HI, i'VE GOT A BIG PROBLEM:
I try connect my smart tv in the w-lan's home but the tv displayed this message "Test lan connection: impossible to complete test lan connection. Check lan settings."
This is very strange because smart tv is normally connected to toshiba's browser (google, facebook etc.) but it's impossibile to use cloud tv's services.
How can I resolve this problem?!

hello all, well the following problem has to do with the connection between my motherboard, and my tv with HDMI LED, the problem is that I plug the HDMI directly to the motherboard, ie HDMI to HDMI, and I recognizes no nothing , absolutely nothing recognizes it , and do not understand that, should work perfectly because I am connecting the HDMI directly
I am in a subject with respect to the VGA in this forum from MSI, but I wanted to know if you could help me solve this problem also, which is the HDMI to HDMI connection direct to the motherboard ...
the connection is good, the cable is in perfect condition, the updates are good, not what would be the problem ...

CheckedInputStream + DataOutputStream problem

Hi. I've been working on a simple File transfer / IM program using tcp sockets. I decided to add a checksum calc to the file transfer process, but this led into problems. Here's the problem in detail (code snippet simplified):

The problem is that, for some reason, in the file receiving end, the dis.read(buffer) call blocks forever (as if it does not receive end of file) and never returns -1.
If I, however, remove the CheckedInputStream (cin) and connect BufferedInputStream (bis) and FileInputStream (fis) directly, the problem disappears.
Whats up with this?

Well. I got the program working fine. But I'm still curious as to why I was unable to make the checksum add up to 0, since it would simplify my code a bit further.
Currently I'm just comparing the checksums calculated at both the sending and receiving end...another stripped code snippet showing this below.

Tecra A11 - LED backlight issue

I have big pain in my eyes after day of work with Tecra A11 BIOS V1.7 = newest BIOS update. Wenn I bought it there was BIOS 1.4 the same problem with eyes, LED backlight killing my eyes, big pain after day of work. V1.5 and 1.6 are much better (no pain) but new BIOS 1.7 is the same eye-killer as 1.4.
Who is going to help me? Users of this forum?
I want Toshiba people to help me, they sell 1/2 ready product, absolutely bad work! No contacts to Toshiba just this user forum. Is Toshiba interested in my problem with his bad Tecra A11 notebook and stupid BIOS updates? I am really angry, never had such problems with so expensive notebook. So excuse my emoutions I start to hate Toshiba for the extremly bad experience with this Tecra A11. Why should some users of this forum help me? I paid a lot of money to Toshiba, so I want Toshiba people to tell me what they do in their BIOS updates, what stupidity kill my eyes with LCD backlight. How many BIOS updates will be needed to make Tecra A11 working properly for 800 EUR? I will never more buy something from Toshiba.

One week and we have BIOS Update 1.9 !! = aproximately one update a week. On one side very nice to see that Toshiba takes care of the problems. On other hand why are so many updates needed? Was this Tecra A11 is sold as final product with 1/2 unfunctional BIOS? Wenn I bougt it I had BIOS 1.4 and I tell you there were mistakes even when you went through the menu, so if someone tested it in Toshiba he could see it. So I have really feeling that Toshiba didnot test BIOS properly. That is maybe why they need to update BIOS so oft. They use users as testers, what is for some rare problems OK, but not for common bugs!
Why does not Toshiba describe what exactly is updated in new BIOS version? Where can I find this information, e.g. what is changed between BIOS 1.6 and 1.7 and so on.? I need this information because I really do not know what is going to happen if I update to 1.9 now. I do not want to spend another day with playing with bios, and in worst case to kill my eyes with bug in LED Backlight. So where can I find what is new in BIOS 1.9 ?
My LED Backlighting problem is in BIOS 1.4 and 1.7. You cannot see that something is happening, but after day of work (8 hours) I cannot look at Tecra A11 monitor any more, because of pain iu my eyes. I thing this happens because LEDs in Backlight are too strong and maybe Toshiba uses some kind of pulse modulation to control LED brightnes. So you see brightnees is low (no strong), but in reality maybe you get a strong flasshing LED light into your eyes whitout brain sense for it. So you see normal backlight, but mayby you become very short time strong impulses of LED full intensity into your eyes what you do not notice, only as pain after many hours. This is my explanaition but I didnot measured it. Toshiba sold notebook with Bios 1.4 and immediately updated to 1.5 where this problem was solved. Thats why I was thinking that they know about this problem and they just solved it for ever. But in V1.7 problem ware back, and my eyes took 2 days to recover from pain. So it is really angry bug and I do not know if to stay by Bios 1.6 or to try update to 1.9. I want Toshiba to describe what is going on in BIOS updates.
Maybe this is problem of only my notebook so I will try to contact authoorized service provider, but I would be really positively suprised if they know what to do with it. We will see. But please if you know, answer me where is information what is new in BIOS Updates from Toshiba. Thanks

I have used macs since the LC475. Never ever have I heard of so many problems with Macs as I hear them now.

I have a new 13" Macbook Pro 2.26ghz with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics card and I'm starting to get a flickering screen when my computer gets really hot for long periods of time such as when gaming. I believe the problem is caused by overheating. I play warcraft III and there's no way my brand new Macbook Pro's graphics card can't handle those graphics. I also play warcraft III on my 7 year old Mac G4 (533mhz CPU with it's very old graphics card) without issues so there's no way a brand new much faster Macbook Pro can't handle those demands. Earlier NVIDIA cards had overheating issues which is another reason I think it's an NVIDIA overheating issue. I don't remember if it also happens while playing videos but I'll check. The problems don't happen much but when they do they are noticeable and not good. So far the flicker doesn't last long and maybe there's only 3 or 4 events when they happen.

HW mute / LED on HDX16 - details and ... Linux

Hello HP forum,
are there details on the HW logic fo muting ?
On Linux the mute key is working but is only controlling SW mute. So the driver sets volume internally
to "0", marks the icons as muted, but does NOT mute the HW. So the mute LED on the HDX16 stays
white and does not change to orange.
Further an OS reboot leads to "klicking" noises, because the HW mute was not activated correctly.
What is the logic behind this mute logic ?
Is this an I/O port ? Is this a sound chip feature (e.g. speaker on/off or amp on/off) ??
How can this be controlled ? (HW details if possible, I/O port, ....)
I would like the use HDX16 fully under Linux, even if I have to do driver development.

Audio problems in general together with DVB-T

HW mute LED is working for me !!
My updated code is part of the LINUX 2.6.30 kernel, currenlty available as 2.6.30-rc6.
Further I did technical analysis.
The MUTE LED is connected to the GPIO-3 pin of the Codec chip IDT 82xx71.
I currently use 2.6.29 with my own patch under Ubuntu 9.04 and it works great.
