Leechblock-like product for Safari that supports scheduling?

Is there a Leechblock-like product for Safari out there that will support advance scheduling? (Freedom doesn't.) Alternatively, would it mess anything up if I uninstalled Safari entirely? I only use it to circumvent Leechblock anyway.

Apparently there is one solution. You can install the extension "WastNoTime". It is as good as Leechblock.
For that you have to go to Safari preferences and turn on extensions. You can then download and install the extension from this link: http://bumblebeesystems.dyndns.org/wastenotime/ or you can browse https://extensions.apple.com/ and find it under productivity category.
I am happy that this extension is finally out. I was almost moving to Firefox.
Good luck

  • Uninstalling Safari on Lion, or a LeechBlock-like extension for Safari?

    Hi all,
    Hoping for some site-blocker advice
I use Firefox exclusively on my Mac in order for the LeechBlock add-on to be effective (having other browsers that circumvent the block kinda defeats the purpose of having a site blocker). In the past, I just deleted Safari from my Mac and everything was dandy. Now that I've recently upgraded to Lion, it refuses to let me delete Safari, and I've been told Safari doesn't have a LeechBlock equivalent.
Is there a way to get rid of Safari, or better yet, a LeechBlock-like Safari extension that I can install?
Thanks so much for any help!

  • Oracle Adapter for SAP that supports Integration with SAP 6.0??

    Hi,
I am working currently with Oracle Adapter for SAP with SAP 4.6.
But my company is looking for upgrading the Enterprise SAP system to 6.0.
Do we have Oracle Adapter for SAP that supports SAP 6.0? Please let me know if anyone has already worked on this?
    Thanks,
    Sasi Bhushan

    Sasi,
There is a new MySAP adapter with 10.13.1 and above to support ECC 6.0. Please see the following section in the 10.1.3.1 adapter release notes:
12.4.1 MySAP ERP Versions and APIs
The following MySAP ERP platforms are supported by OracleAS Adapter for MySAP
    ERP:
    ■ SAP R/3 Enterprise 47x100
    ■ SAP R/3 Enterprise 47x200
    ■ MySAP ERP Central Component (ECC) 5.0, deployed on SAP NetWeaver 2004
    ■ MySAP ERP Central Component (ECC) 6.0, deployed on SAP NetWeaver 2004s
    ■ SAP Java Connector (SAP JCo) Version 2.18.
For the current release status of the SAP Java Connector, refer to SAP Note #549268
    in the SAP Service Marketplace.
Release versions may vary by product component. In addition, SAP functions may
vary by SAP product version and support package.
Note: The OracleAS Adapter for MySAP ERP supports only the versions listed above.
It is not recommended to use the OracleAS Adapter for MySAP ERP with older
versions of SAP R/3. If you plan to use the adapter with older versions of SAP R/3 for
example SAP R/3 4.6C, prior approval from iWay Software Product Management is
    required.

  • Can someone please make an extension for Safari that replicates Tab Mix Plus

I don't use Safari, not because Safari is a terrible browser, not because it doesn't do a good job. I don't use Safari because it refuses to integrate a basic and imperative idea into its structure: Tab Browsing should be intuitive. To that end, I am imploring someone, ANYONE who knows how to create Safari Extensions, please create an extension for Safari that essentially replicates Firefox's Tab Mix Plus.
Most people (I read about 95%) use tabbed browsing on a regular basis, its that important. I'm shocked that Apple hasn't done this already. They would steal all of Firefox's thunder with that simple extension. For me, its 90% of the reason I use Firefox and ignore Safari. With the beauty and simplicity of OS X Lion, I'm stunned that Apple hasn't asked some bored software guy to spend all of 5 minutes to make this thing already. I wish I knew how, I wish I knew how to make extensions and plug ins and apps and all that other stuff, but I don't. All I can do is ask someone out there to please get off the couch and make this thing already. I know that this will more then likely fall on deaf ears and be forgotten by Apple and that's sad.
I hope this sparks some interest in making this happen. I can only hope.

Well of course the person purchasing the "mix" will pay for the individual songs but what I'm
Suggesting is that apple or iTunes comes up with a creative way of sending the "mix" and have a one click download process like when you purchase apps. Picture an e-card from Apple or Itunes that will ask you to preview the album before downloading. Also, you'd have to know the person in order to send this downloadable mix from iTunes. Name, email, etc. The idea originated because I want to make someone a mixed CD but who really purchased CD's anymore? It would b so much easier if I or anyone had the ability to create a mix iTunes card or gift or e-card to send to someone else.

  • Sony know their products fail and that support is dire.

A customer after having time with their latest product has run into a dead end, one would think, Sony being one of the bigger brands that "support" would be quite a simple task.. Generally I’m talking about phone support here, but this goes for ANY Sony product. Have you noticed that Sony are fantastic and bringing out these superb phones that do so much more than your current product, making you wish you had waited a little while...
Their products are built to around the age old light bulb theory of consumerism.
Leading  manufacturers have ALL conspired to keep the lifetime of their products far below their real technological capabilities.....
Your current model will fail just as a newer model arrives - how convenient....
This way, they ensure the continuous demand for "latest" products...
    Hence, long-term profit  for themselves..
I suggest instead of looking at what I write with your small Sony mind, and consider doing a little research.

  • Sound Card for Notebook that supports

Hi?I have read that certain sound cards (including Audigy 2) that support 5. and also 7. surround sound don't actually support 2. users such as myself. I need a sound card for a newly purchased notebook and would welcome advice in this area ie: what's the best soundcard to get (external or pcmia) that will support good old fashioned 2. stereo? Many thanks in advance?Sparky2

If the PCMCIA type in your laptop is type of ExpresCard then there are no PCMCIA solutions available yet. Also there are not many PCMCIA solutions available at all. If plain analog stereo output is enough for you then I suggest you to look these:
    - E-MU 02, ECHO Indigo DJ and IO. These are all under $US200.
As USB, from Creative, the E-MU 0202 USB and 0404 USB are superior devices compared to other Creatives (SoundBlaster) USB models . There also are plenty of USB devices available under many brands. Just check this theread to see some of those.
FireWire devices are a bit more expensi've but if you plan to invest lets say $US300 - $US500 then ... Those low budged ($US00) FireWire devices are not very high quality by the converrters.

  • Request for BIOS that supports 1600MHz RAM

Hello, I confirm, that with old bios version my L520 supports 1600MHz frequency of RAM.
Why is the frequency downdraded in new bioses?
Can we, users of ThinkPads, request new bios version that has all the fixes and still supports 1600MHz ? Becouse since bios downgrade sometimes when my notebook goes to standby it ends up with blue screen.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I think there is a misunderstanding here. With intel core cpus, the memory controller is within the cpu itself and not in the chipset. So it's really a question of having a cpu that supports 1600Mhz ram rather than a bios which can support the memory. Since there are no L520s officially carrying i7 cpus (the only ones supporting 1600Mhz ram, and only some of them), installing 1600 Mhz ram is tottaly useless. Older bioses may report 1600Mhz for the ram but do not really take advantage of the higher frequency, since it is the cpu that can or cannot control it. Sandy Bridge i3 and i5 cpus can only use 1333Mhz memory so the laptop will in all cases downclock automatically the ram to 1333Mhz,    using maybe lower latencies as well (which could be the only small advantage of using higher frequency ram).
You can try to upgrade your L520 with an i7, but it will void the warranty. Also the 4core i7s which can use faster memory need more current to run and warm up more, so you will have to be very careful (use a 90W power supply, check for temps often). The cpu itself is not cheap either at around $250 used, so if you really need something faster, maybe you should go for another laptop alltogether.
I hope this helps and clarifies the situation.

  • Any GPUs for Windows that support both CUDA and Open CL?

    Hi everyone,
I was looking at this list:  http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/tech-specs.html
while trying to decide which graphics card to buy to take advantage of Mercury playback.  I couldn't help but notice that there is not a single card listed that is compatible for both CUDA and Open CL in windows.  Do I really have to pick one or the other?  In that case, which would be more beneficial to a Premiere Pro workflow that utilizes a lot of dynamic links to After Effects?  As a side note, I use Photoshop a ton, and would love to keep my GPU acceleration in that arena as well.
    Thanks!
    -Charlie

I believe they write OpenCL separately.  They're two different APIs.
They are not that different, while 'porting' doesn't imply completely automatic process. Rewriting existing libraries from one language to another is something almost any developer is familiar with.
I'm not sure I understand the point you're trying to make here.  Right now, you cannot use OpenCL processing with an nVidia card on Windows.
The point is simple: both CUDA and OpenCL are supported by NVIDIA cards. The fact that Adobe engineers haven't ported libraries for GPU acceleration in MPE on Windows from CUDA to OpenCL so far doesn't mean they never will. Hence the statement that a user-side choice between AMD and NVIDIA equals to choice between OpenCL and CUDA is incorrect.

  • InvisibleShield-like product for $5.99???

We found a vendor selling a 3M product like the InvisibleShield but only for $5.99 + $1 shipping.
Go check it out on today's (Nov 3rd, 2005) issue of RainyDayMagazine.
And yes...we are trying to drive traffic to the site, but we thought folks would be interested. Don't go if this somehow upsets your sensibilities:-)
    http://www.rainydaymagazine.com

An hour and a half is a bit on the long side for applying the InvisibleShield
The "OrangePeel" effect is not very noticeable on ours either...but it is definitely not glass smooth as it was before the cover was applied. We don't really mind it.
We protected the front just so we can be sure the display for the photos doesn't get messed up over time. We thought the corners for the back piece may be a problem...it was one of the reasons why we didn't bother with it.
Anyway, the back gets a little nicked, but hey... we buy our stuff to use, not so we can baby it like china tea cups One of the reasons why we loved the iKeychain.

  • Can anyone recommend a powerpoint-like program for mac that is free?

I cannot afford to spend a fortune on power point but my kids are always needing to do pp presentations for school.  Is there a good free program out there or even one with a lower price point?

Apple's Keynote (like Power Point) is available by itself through the App store for $19.99, however, you need to be at OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later to access the App store.
You can also buy the iWork suite, which has Keynote, Numbers (think excel), and Pages (think Word) for $79 from Apple. If being downlevel one release is OK, the iWork '08 package is available through an Amazon vendor for $38.98 which includes shipping.

  • I can't find a download for safari that works with my 10.7.5 OS

Trying to find a download that works with 10.7.5.  Any suggestions?

    You need to install Lion:
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
    Alternatively, see:
Reinstall OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Choose the version you have installed now:
OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X

  • Image resize plugin for Safari

I was wondering if anyone knew of a plugin for Safari that would resize images so that they fit in the browser window?? I have done some searching on Google but cannot find anything. I am wondering if perhaps it hasn’t been developed yet? I think that it would be a great idea as I know many people who would use it.
Anyway, hoping someone can help me out here. Love Apple and all their products!
    www.jacomputing.net

Jesse, what is the purpose for the resized image: for example, is this
for images you want to display on your web site, or is it for images when you are cruising the web?
If you want to enlarge images on your web site, but keep them to scale, you can set either the width or the height attribute (not both!) to a percentage; which, actually, represents the percentage width or height of the document body.
You can either set this in your style sheet, or in the image tag (the traditional way). Let's say in the style sheet, you set your body width to 50% of the available space and centered it; and you set the image to 80% width; the image would actually be about 40% of the available width (.80 x 50%).
The problem with setting this across the board for every image that you come across is that if the image is small in the first place, like a button, it will likely be blown out (pixelated), if made to be 80% width, for example. So you would probably still want to individually control each image.
Is that what you had in mind, or something else?

  • InDesign plugin that supports table templates?

I'm looking for an application or plugin for Indesign that supports the creation of table templates, or something similar. The idea would be to allow different data to be applied to a pre-designed table template in order to create multiple similar tables for a given InDesign document. Does anything like this exist out there?

    1. What is the back-end server requirements to be able to render the finished PDFs?
You need either a Windows or Mac server and a licensed copy of Adobe InDesign Server ("IDS"). IDS takes SOAP requests that tell it what script to run, and scripting the server is generally the best approach unless you have some really special type of situation where a C++ plugin is needed. Certainly updating templates and generating PDF can be done with a script. You send a SOAP request to the server telling it what script to run and what template to load, and where to put the PDF. You can download a trial of IDS from Adobe.com.
    2. Does anyone have experience building the InDesign Plugins that can connect to a back-end rendering server?
Our company, Silicon Publishing, has a ton of experience connecting to InDesign Server, as we have been a solution provider and re-seller 8 years, producing large-scale solutions for Shutterfly, Royal Carribean, Nike and many others. We can render on the server via plugins, CS and/or CC extensions, and/or scripting. This is definitely our sort of project, and we can either consult/train or build a complete solution. You can contact me at [email protected]
