I realise this doesn't help you but I have reported this exact same issue (well, the part about being unable to login to webmail from abroad anyway) for MONTHS and all I get told is 'well you SHOULD be able to login'. I am no further forward and have come to the conclusion the only way to resolve this is to change ISP/phone provider.
I had to create (and pay for) a domain with 1and1 in order to be able to send and receive e-mail while abroad, I didn't want to use Gmail or the like.
As you say, it is INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING, especially when I work for at least 6 months of the year overseas and BT just seem to ignore these posts.

Under Part 9. Verify that USB drivers are installed, did you try the steps in If only "Unknown Device" appears? That appears to be your situation.
Also, you said that the shuffle initially worked well enough to do a sync, then it had the same problem again. If you can get it to work again initially, before doing anything else, try the following. Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, go to the Summary tab. By default, the checkbox for Enable disk use should be unchecked. If so, check it and Apply the change. See if that makes any difference.
(If Enable disk use was already checked, try unchecking it and Apply the change. Basically, set it the "other way" and see if there is any improvement.)
NOTE: When disk use is enabled, you have to eject the iPod in iTunes before disconnecting it physically.
If the disk use change makes a difference, that may provide a clue about the actual cause. -
I get "mail server does not recognize your Apple ID and password" when I try to share a picture via email in iPhoto. My iCloud email works ok otherwise. I have checked all mail settings for ID and password.
In the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete the account and re-enter it - sometimes that resolves this
Or IMHO the best long term solution is to set Apple Mail as the iPhoto e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences and use it - it has a number of advatages and has fewer problems

I was updating my phone in itunes and the "update went wrong" and now the phone is not recognized by itunes. I unattatched the phone and it wont turn on or off, just shows a picture of the itunes symbol and a usb cord. In itunes it says that it is an unknown iphone and is in recovery mode so I need to restore the phone. If I restore the phone I loose all my pictures, which I dont want to do...and my contacts. Is there any way around this, so I can get my phone back to normal without wiping it all out? Thanks

Apps for Universal Crossword puzzle does not recognize server.
I am using a Officejet Pro 8500A and Windows 7 on a wireless network. I have downloaded some Apps from ePrint. The other Apps work fine, "Forms(Proposals)", "News". The App for Universal Crossword doesnot function in that I get an error message "the printer was unable to connect to the server." Is there some problem with this App that others don't have?

View Solution.Hi jcope10248. That error is specific to the printer connecting to web services, and not necessarily the App itself. I recommend contacting HP Cloud services @1-855-785-2777 since they will have real time information about the service. The number is toll free and the service is free and doesn't require that your printer be in warranty.

For above error Table /TMWFLOW/REP_DATA_FLOWwas refreshed as well but still the same error.If you are in Test System, you can use function module AA_AFABER_DELETE to totally delete the depreciation area (tcode SE37, specify chart of depreciation and depreciation area), After that recreate your depreciation area and run AFBN. But before you do that, have you created a retirement transaction type that limits the posting on your new depreciation area? If not create one.

Just bought a new iMac, with Lion, for my wife. When is was wifi with her old iMac on line with it's printer, HP C6200, no problems printing. Now that it is by itself it does not recognize the C6200...It recognizes my laser hp 1012 and laser hp 6300 but will not print to them wanting an autenication
How is the C6200 connected to the iMac, is it via USB or Wi-Fi? If it's via Wi-Fi please make sure it's connected to the router using the printer's Network Wizard. Then click System Preferences - Print & Scan and assuming the iMac is on the same network as the printer, if it is the printer should be seen. If it's not then click the + sign and add the printer. When visiting a site I frequent I tried to download a linked .pdf file. Previously I've used Firefox 7.0.1 to download the link with no problem. Using Firefox 8 however I the browser does not recognize the .pdf link's mime type. Instead of recognizing the download link as a .pdf file Firefox 8 tries to download it as "index.php". Firefox 8 does this with .doc files and .txt files as well. When I downgrade to 7.0.1 again the problem disappears.

I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.

My MacBook Pro does not recognize my Android Incrdible 2 cell phone and therefore I can not transfer any photos from my cell phone to my Mac. I was able to do this in the past, but can not do so now. I have not upgraded to any new software. My USB cable is plugged in properly and I just get an error message -- "No Android Device Found". What could be the problem?
I had the same issue with the Galaxy S4 trying to see what the hype was about and was my first and last android phone. With that being said unfortunately it is a hit or miss with the Mac recognizing an android device or not. It worked perfectly fine the first time around and then it stopped working for no apparent reason. Through trial and error nothing I did solved the issue. I did however plug it in my Mac and left it connected for about 30-40 min to charge for a bit and all of the sudden it recognizes the phone. So I just launched Android File Transfer and everything else became fluid after that. I have no explanation as to why it happened that way, but what I gathered from this is maybe you just have to let it sit for a minute while plugged in before the Mac recognizes it, after all they are opposing software. On a side note this is why I will always be an apple user, Iphones and the like never have this problem

Tried to install both Firefox 5.0 and 5.0.1, and received the same error message that a file ending in .dylib was in use. I cannot locate that file, and Finder does not recognize it.
I have a Power PC Mac with OS 10.5.8 and Firefox 3.6.28, the latest versions supported on my machine, and all of my plug-ins are the latest versions available for that browser version. I too get the warning message all the time and it is very annoying. I have never had any "security" problems, and I don't go along with this imperative to always be upgrading equipment. Don't these corporate geeks understand that we're in a global economic contraction and a lot of us are unemployed/underemployed? They want us to be good consumers and "switch to a newer computer" but I can't afford that. Like, if I can't fix my old car, I won't be able to drive. I’ve seen a lot of solutions, or suggestions rather, with regard to the error in the title of this post. In my experience, the problem can almost always be resolved without extra domain add/removes and reboots, which is the most prevalent solution I have
seen around. Usually, this issue is due to a mismatch between attributes of the computer account in Active Directory and those values on the system itself. Here are the steps I take to fix this issue when it crops up:
Open up Active Directory Users & Computers pointed to the domain the computer account resides in
From the “View” pull-down menu, make sure that “Advanced Features” is checked
Navigate to the part of your organizational unit (OU) structure where the computer account for this server resides
Open the Properties for the computer object
Choose the “Attribute Editor” tab on the Properties dialog box
Check the Attributes dNSHostName & servicePrincipalName – anywhere that a fully qualified hostname is specified (e.g. myserver.mydomainname.com), make sure that the entry matches the hostname
you have configured when you go here on your server: Start -> Computer -> Right-Click, Properties -> Change Settings (under “Computer name, domain… settings”) -> Full Computer Name
As an example, for a fictitious W2K8 R2 server whose Full Computer Name is “srv1.mydomainname.com”, these attribute/value pairs should be in Active Directory:

Not reading it carefully I add a computer with the same name as the pc having the issue and followed the above. The problem is that I did not notice that the spn did not want the name of my server (serv1) but the name of the trouble

I bought an apple iPod 5th generation the other day and I cannot remember the unlock passcode. I have done the restore thing, but because I never set it up or synced it with iTunes, it does not recognize my device. It is disabled for one hour. There's only a few things that could be my passcode, but because it disables for an hour, it is time consuming trying to figure it out. What do I do? I do not care about having to erase everything since it's new and there's nothing on it, but it was never synced with iTunes.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
