Left justify images in slideshow

Is there a way to have the photos all line up on the left instead of centered in a slideshow?

It certainly would.
Until you gain some proficiency with HTML and then with CSS,
your experience
with DW will be one of these mysteries after another. The
problem is, that
knowledge would PREVENT you from clicking on the icon that
inserts the
<blockquote> tag (mistakenly identified as an indent in
DW) in the first
place, and would then allow you to find it and remove it once
it has been
used.

Left justify images in table cell

I have just started trying to learn DW.
Why do some of my images left justify in the cell (as I want
them to) while others float out in the center of the cell?

Soft images in Slideshow

When I go to view my images in View>Slideshow they are very soft almost blurred. The thumbnails are fine as are the preview images in Bridge.
If I left click on the image in slideshow and zoom on the image it becomes sharp, when I right click to zoom back to full image it becomes blurred again.
This is very annoying as I have used the manual slideshow in CS3 to quickly assess and rate my images with no problems.
What am I doing wrong? Please help

Most of the problems in slide show are realated to the video card or driver. Make sure you have the latest driver installed.
If this does not work in advanced preferences click "use software rendering" and see it that solves problem.

Blank images in slideshow

I have just downloaded iphoto 11. I am able to see thumbnail pictures, but am unable to see images in slideshow. I only see blanks. Anyway round the problem?

Are you able to see the full sized images of those photos in the Event or Photos mode? If not what do you see?
If you see just a blank window or this image in the window:
Then try the following:
If you have the space available on your hard drive and don't aready have a backup copy of the library make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Hi,
To be clear and for other readers, Messages has dropped the number of Styles to three.
Compact and Boxes are styles that have you and the Chatee on the left and the messages themselves are left justified.
Balloons is the default (Speech bubble stylee), as mentioned, and your part of the chat or conversation is on the right but is also Right Justified.

Microsoft Word Documents Left Justified on Web Pages

I have a church web site created with iWeb 08. I've been taking sermon outlines from Microsoft Word, copying the text, and pasting it in iWeb. This has been working fine in the past. The Word formatting copies over fine and the indents show up correctly in iWeb and on the web pages being viewed with Safari, Firefox, or IE in Windows.
Within the last month, something has happened. All the sermons are now left justified on the church website, when viewed with any of the browsers. It still looks okay in iWeb 08 though. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, were you able to correct it?

A lot has changed with Apple's hosting servers and software in the last couple of weeks due to the MobileMe changeover and it's not surprising that some things don't work as they once did. It takes little effort to click on the text box in the iWeb page and select the justification you need.
Another way to add the Word page is to take a screenshot of it and add it as an image file. That way all browsers and platforms will see it exactly the same, particularly if you're using a non web safe font.

Preview app: Add text annotation with left justify?

I'm using the Preview app to insert text into some PDF files. I can use the Annotate feature to create a text box in the area I need it and adjust the font, color, size, etc. The only thing I can't seem to do is set the justification to Left Justify. It will show text as center justify - anyone know how to change this?

I can find out what the defaults are with:
defaults read com.apple.preview
There are many properties but a TextAligment property is not one of them.
I tried below but they do not work.
defaults write com.apple.preview NSTextAlignment 0
defaults write com.apple.preview PVAnnotationTextAlignment 0
NB: 0 means left alignment
Any idea?
Maybe Apple has to create an text alignment feature for the GUI or provide the property that we can set it from Terminal.

How do I left justify the text in the tabs of a JTabbedPane.

In 1.3.1 this used to work by supplying an HTML string with <div align="left"> but when I run with 1.4.1 this is now broken and I get center justification.
Does anybody know a way to get the text in the tabs to be left justified.

First, I found while using JTabbedPane that the "standard" behavior is to allow to a tab the exact space needed to display the tab text. Hence with this behavior, there is actualy no difference of "left" or "center" aligned text. So I assumed that you found a way or another to make your tabs wider than the "string width"...
Here is a solution:
You can override the TabbedPaneUI class and ajust the "layoutLabel()" method. Here is the code..

Change position images in slideshow

I am trying to change the position of the images in my slideshow, but I don't know how I can do this.
Does anyone have an idea?

You can resize and reposition both the Hero Image container and the Image inside that (by double-clicking the Hero Image).
Although your Hero Image size/position is fixed for all the images in slideshow, you can definitely move/resize the actual images inside individually. See if that helps you get it to work for you in the Slideshow itself.
Else you can always for go the Composition Widget which allows you to place individual target slides in different positions and have different sizes.

Facebook is left justified on my machine only. erashing cache does not fix it. need help.

this just started today.
i've followed every single step on the support with no change.
-i've updated to firefox 10
-i've cleared both caches 10 times, also used third party programs and manually after that did not work. no change.
-i've tested the font size (it's where it should be)
-tested java script (it is on)
-tested zoom. When zooming in or out the page fixes itself and goes centered, but when at the default zoom, the site is left justified instead of centered.
i would really appreciate some help here. bad enough firefox crashes enough for other reasons, but now that the number one page i go to on a daily basis isn't working right it's basically enough reason to leave for good.

Check it out, I uninstalled Firefox and IE from my machine, reloaded the default IE.
When I reloaded it (IE) and went to facebook, my machine said there was a certificate error, i hadnt seen this before for some reason (my wife ignored it or something).
I clicked ignore and it came up with the left justified angry mess we all hate so much, well IE then popped up in the bottom saying something about blocking the content associated with the bad security certificates, also giving me an option to display said content, i clicked the button and low and behold beautiful colorful facebook pops up.
Well I press back and go back to the Certificate Error screen and I click on technical details, it says something along the lines of "Certificate for this website works starting November 11, 2011, and system time is march 02, 2002.....
.......wait what?
I look down, sure enough, system time, 2:44AM, 03/02/2002.
......So I reset the time (this tells me, by the way, i need to crack open my laptop and replace that little nifty system battery that keeps the clock accurate, they go out every so often, newegg/ebay sells them for cheap),
so after i reset the time i simply (on the error page even) hit refresh and bam, like there was never anything ever wrong.
Conclusion: if your system time is messed up (how often do you really look at it) and the year is wrong, it'll screw up EVERY browser you try to use, because every browser (in an attempt to protect you from risky websites) is blocking content that doesnt have a valid security certificate (because the date is xx years away from even being initiated).
Hope this gets to you in time before you go all Office Space on your computer.

CS4 Help with spry menu bar. Want Top Centered and Subs left-justified.

Hi there, using DW8 mostly, but have the trial version of CS4
for the spry menu bar. WinXP.
Can someone help me with the spry menu bar on this page? I'd
like the main menu to be centered, as it looks better for

I am afraid, its not possible to import "Captions" within Adobe Muse. You need to manually type in caption for each individual image.

Poor quality images on Slideshow

Hello all,
I recently downloaded Aperture from the Mac App store - seemed to good a bargain not to and I was already considering upgrading from iPhoto 08.
I imported all my pictures (along with the captions) into Aperture and created a slideshow from an album. I was quite disappointed to see that the image quality was really poor and very grainy. The photos themselves were fine in the album - but not so in the slideshow.
I thought this may have been down to importing from iPhoto, so I experimented by adding other images directly into Aperture. The same slideshow quality issue arose. I also possess a MacBook Pro and decided to re-perform the steps described above. The images and slideshow are absolutely fine on my MacBook pro.
I wish to maintain my photo library on my main iMac and will be very downhearted if Aperture cannot give me the same picture quality on slideshows that I achieved in iPhoto. Can anyone help me figure out why I'm suffering from poor quality images in slideshows on my iMac?

Aperture uses the image Preview in Slideshows:
_About Displaying Sharp Images in Slideshows_
To display slideshows at the best quality, you should set Aperture to create high-resolution previews. In addition to setting previews to their highest resolution, you should also use full-size previews to prevent upscaling with large displays. If previews are not available, images in the slideshow may not be as sharp as they would be otherwise. For more information about creating high-resolution previews, see Working with Preview Images.
