Use the Minimum Widow Lines or Page Protect property for the field:
"The Minimum Widow Lines property is the minimum number of lines of the boilerplate or field text that should appear on the logical page where the object starts to print. If the number of lines specified for this property cannot fit on the logical page, then all lines of text are moved to the next page."
"The Page Protect property indicates whether to try to keep the entire object and its contents on the same logical page. Setting Page Protect to Yes means that if the contents of the object cannot fit on the current logical page, the object and all of its contents will be moved to the next logical page."

Best practice - over issue of move orders in WIP

Hi Business analyst guru's,
I am working for a electronics manufacturing industry. I am trying to use work orders functionality across our organizations. I am stuck with a logic. Please advise me what you do in this scenario.
BoM : I have a a board assembly which requires 10 components say one of each component on BoM.
Setups:
all component's WIP supply type is push, Supply subinventory blank for all BoM components
Release backflush components is not enabled in WIP parameters.
one fine day I want to build 100 board assemblies and created the work order for 100, and released the move order through compoentn pick release form with transaction type as WIP component issue.
Now the warehouse picker went into warehouse to pick 100 of each component with a move order with 10 lines on it. 2 components are in reels which he can not split the reel and split reel can not be used in production floor (reel size is 1000). He can issue 1000 against on the move order
Now all the material went into production and build the assembly by 100 units. But two reels are left over with 900 of each. here I can do a WIP component return against the job.
But expectation is if I want to build another work order (say qty by 100 again) this 900 of two components should be available for the next work order. If I do component pick release, the move order should request only 8 components.
Is this possible? If not what is the best practice to avoid WIP return transaction and avoid splitting the reel size?

1) If you have these items as Push, you will get a move order line for 100. Therefore, even if you move a whole reel the floor, only 100 will get transacted out of warehouse. Someone will have to manually transact additional 900 to the floor otherwise your inventory accuracy will go for a toss.
Have you considered making those items pull?
1) As and when the worker needs reel, he raises a signal. (different ways of doing this - could be Oracle kanban, could be a visual signal, could be a holler - whatever works for you)
2) You transfer 1000 to the fllor
3) As and when jobs complete, the 100 units get issued to work order
4) Whatever is left over (say 800 after the 2 work orders) and not needed is transferred back to warehouse and you do a subinv xfer transaction.
2) If you can't make them pull, then you will be forced to move the 900 back to warehouse when the first job is done.
3) If you can't make them pull, you do a component pick release (CPR) for multiple jobs at a time? You can group your pick tickets by destination operation. This way, upon component release, you will have 1 move order line with qty =200. The picker transacts the move order line for 200 and a subinv xfer to WIP for 800.
4) Here is the best case scenario. Don't know if your floor layout or factory processes will support this.
You make the items pull on BOM. You have a temporary holding area on the floor (aka supermarket) . When operator needs the item, a visual signal is raised. The supervisor (aka spider) checks the supermarket and brings a reel to the operator. Upon completing the job(s), whatever is left of the reel goes to the supermarket. Once the reel is no more needed for the day (or week or month), you do a subinv xfer from supermarket to warehouse of whatever is left. The components get issued to work order upon completion (of operation/assembly).
Do the best you can out of this scenario. :)

Left over component

Hi all,
scenario is like this:
client purchases one component say 6metre length of stainless steel rod.( 6metre length is standard they cant get 7m or 8metres)
Now when they use it they have to cut 4metres or 5metres from it. suppose they cut 5m and use it. left over is 1 m. they cant scrap it because this 1 m length of stainless steel they want to consume it in some other product.
So how to address this issue in PP? They want to know at any stage how much is the quantity of this 1 m length of stainless steel in the stock, its value etc.

It is mapped as below
Option -1
create material with different lenth i.e 1M, 2M, 3M, 4M, 5M, 6M.
When confirm the production order and consume 6M SS rod material make sure that you will get a by-product with material number 1M or 2M. Hence you will post the stock of 1M or 2M.
Here you will debit the production order with 6M material cost and deduct 1 or 2 M material cost. It will be perfect with respect to stock and value and correct cost is ensured in production order.
Option no 2.
Activate batch managementfor material called SS and maintain a class for the material and have a char as length. Activate split valuation with batch
Receive the SS with length 6M-valuation type. Issue this material to production order, enter the same material as byproduct in the confirmation screen and recive the material with char value 1M or 2M valuation type..depending on what you have got during production.
Advantage is you have one material number and since split valuationt is activated, stock and value will be with correct.

Could you please explain where the left over is coming from?
I mean if it is in production, why are you issuing in excess in the first place?
But, you could start looking at 262 as a starting point for your solution.

I am having issues with power pivot uninstallation. These two objects are left over after uninstallation.
How to deal with it?
Is there any way to delete these entries in the config DB?
As i Know we should not delete anything manullay from config Database?

PR - PO, Help with a PR that is partially converted to PO (left over QTY)!

My current program finds all open PR's (found where EBAN-STATU = 'N') and deletes them.
However, say that a PR (all PR's are in UOM EA) is converted to a PO (all PO's are in UOM CSE.) When converted, what if some of the quantity is left over?
For example, a PR has a line item with a quantity of 12. However, a CSE can only hold 10. In turn, 2 of the quantity will be left over.
Will they be recognized as open PR's when the next batch of PR's are deleted? How do I test out such a scenario (where can i find such a PR, convert it and see what happens to the left over quantity)?

You can check it in ME53n Status tab processing status might be there. And if any processing has been done like RFQ, PO... it will be displayed in this tab.
For collective PR status
You can check it in ME5A

Kernel panics every time (shut down your computer). When it stays on I get blotched video, left-over spots, tearig and then shut down your computer...

I use my PowerPC Quicksilver G4 (2.1), 867 MHz, 1.5 GB standart video card system 10.4.11 to scan (lack of driver for my Mac Pro 10.6.8)
The G4 has been running flawless, now I get kernel panics every time (shut down your computer). When it stays on I get blotched video
left-over spots, tearig and then shut down your computer...
I did all recommended software tests Diskutility, rebuild with DiskWarrior and Apples full Hardware test. Everything comes out fine!

Yes I ran short and the Extended Test. All pass. One of the first things I did is Safe Boot several times I also repaired permissions. Safe boot takes no longer than before the crashes and as long as I stay in safe boot mode it won't crash. What does that mean?I also ran MacJanitor and removed the SCCUZI card Apple put in when I bought the G4 as well as an M-Audio Delta 66 card which I do not use (both) anymore. I also started up on an external firewire drive 10.4.6. It also (crashes) does the same thing.
I was hoping somebody understands the crash report I enclosed? Isn't that suppose to say what went wrong?

When I had 10.6.8, itunes would leave a left over amount in itunes apps. When I got the upgrade to 10.7 I thougt the problem would go away but it did not. There is a bug in the app system and I think it should be resolve quickly.

When I had 10.6.8, itunes would have a left over amount in itunes apps, it would show you would have 8 apps that need to be updated. I would got to up date them and there would be no apps to up date. 2 days later I would go to up date apps and it would show I have 15 apps to update when I really have 6 then it would add on more invisable apps to which is not there. There is a bug in itunes that needs to be fixed please fix this app section. I have sent letters about this before and you did not listen. I a beta tester and I hate it when my requests don't get fixed.

You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).

Totally confused here as I have credit in my account. It seems to be using the gift card credit, but I still get a little bit taken from my credit card. No I'm not using up all the actually gift card credit, the price is under that. I still have credit left over. But continue to receive charges of 1.03 or 4.28 to my charge card and not taking amount from gift card.

I was having this problem too. Last night, before I rented a movie, I turned iTunes on on my iMac. I rented the movie from iTunes on apple tv, then checked my acount on my iPad. My account updated once I logged into it. Maybe you need to have iTunes running when purchasing or renting.

One screw left over

I just completed replacing the bottom case, and upgrading the hard drive on my 12" G4. I used the instructions from iFixIt.com and found them very useful.
Everything is working, Leopard is installing on the new hard drive. But... I have one little 2.5mm screw left over. I have absolutely no idea where it came from... I followed the instructions to the letter. I guess I will keep it if I ever have to dig into the computer again.

Video dongles left over from 12" Powerbook

I have just ordered a MacPro for my wife. She was using my old 12" Powerbook up till now. I have two video dongles left over from the 12" PB. One is a VGA port, and the other has an S-video and RCA video out connectors. They have the same compact video connector as the MacBook. Will these work with the new MacBook?

Ok - I realize that I typed MacPro in the first message when the computer is a MacBook. It is here and I know for show that the old dongles do not fit - the size of the connector is different.
So that sews it up readers - you can not use the dongles from the 12" Powerbook on the MacBook

Left over of Sales Order creates new planned order of whole batch

We are using planning without Assembly strategy (52) and Sales order is created in our sales plant and Purchase order from sales plant creates STO on manufacturing plant which than produces material using process order.
Now sales order says 5000 EA but actual production is if 4985 EA in Manufacturing plant which is transported into Sales plant and sales plant receives 4985 EA which keeps sales order of 5EA in the system
When MRP runs overnight creates planned order for left over quantity and it is of whole batch 5000 EA. This confuse our planner.
Can anyone provide me the solution please?

For strategy 52 FX never works so we have lot sixe "EX".
We have set up tolerance limit of +/- 10% but when less quantity is received (4985 instead of 5000) from manufacturing plant system thinks there is an open sales sales order of 15 and creates a new planed order.
If we have materials 4980 in stock and we create a sales order for 5000, tolerance will be considered for this and there won't be any open sales order but in our case Sales order allows us to procure and when GR quantity is less than sales order it is treated as left over and create planned order.
Please help me by replying if any one knows.

some left over liquid qty is there,which is halb.but it will turn to solid state,if i want to reuse it i have to melt it.so when ver i create production order or fert,halb planed order will be reduced.due to some left over qty.if i want to use it ,i have to process the left over qty with new planed order qty for melting.how can i map it ,i dont wnat to move left over qty to blocked stock to resue it.any other method.

You can consider the left over qty as by-product giving a differrent material number & GR it in a storage location with 101 mvt type during the confirmation of order . Then create a new Order with this material to melt the same .....
