Left/Right Arrows Stopped Working

Hello,
I just noticed my left and right arrow keys have stopped working. I updated my computer earlier today and when I tried to move the line cursor over, it wouldn't move. The top and bottom arrow keys work fine, but not the left and right keys.
Any ideas?

Command-Left/Right Arrow not working

Very strange behavior I'm seeing today.
My left/right arrow keys work. Even Option-Left/Right works correctly.
But, Command-Left-Right do not work. No movement at all.
Curiously, Shift-Command-Left/Right work fine.
I've not changed any keyboard shortcuts recently. I've checked the keyboard shortcuts that are currently defined. Nothing that would indicate a problem, but clearly there is.

Just found a solution that worked for me here. Basically, it seems to be a bug with the Dock. If you type "killall Dock" (the command is case-sensitive) into the command line in Terminal, it restarts the Dock. After that the arrows seem to work normally again.

Working through David's book - trouble with Control-Left/Right Arrow

I have worked my way through David Nahmani's book in the Apple Pro Training series and it is EXCELLENT! It's the best investment I've made in a long time. The investment I made in the new computer and software would be so much less AWESOME had I not found this little gem. I do have a question, though...
When it comes to the command keys, I can't get the Control-Left/Right Arrow commands to work. They are supposed to be zoom keys - but they just wipe my window left and right. I'm probably doing something wrong. Anyone know what it is?

Gina,
The problem is that Control + Arrow Keys is the default key command to switch between Spaces (window sets) in Leopard. So, here's what you do:
1. Open System Preferences
2. Click on "Exposé & Spaces" (top row, fourth icon from the left)
3. Click on the "Spaces" tab
4. In the bottom portion of the window you'll see a section for "Keyboard and Mouse Shortcuts", in the second pulldown menu change the setting from "^ Arrow Keys" to another of the choices. I personally use the second choice, which is Command + Option + Arrow Keys.
Now, back in Logic your Control + Arrow Keys should be controlling your Arrange window zoom.

Left external speaker stopped working, right works fine. When I connect headphones, they work fine. Have tried two different sets of speakers, deleted plists and reset pram. Please help!

Hmm. I think its not a sound card and its not a speaker problem because both parts (left speaker and sound card) seems to be ok as you have posted in your message.
Im not quite sure what could be wrong but possibly this issue has something to do with the headphone jack there is a tiny switch inside the headphone jack which enables and disables the speakers if the headphone jack has been plugged.
Maybe this switch does not work properly.
What to say in such case the hardware needs to be replaced but in most cases the headphone jack is a part of the motherboard and in such case the whole mobo needs to be replaced and I think this is not worth because of the high parts costs

Right Click stopped working on my Magic Mouse. It works on Wife's MacBook

I have a Mid-2011 21.5 iMac, 2.5 GHz., 12 GB Memory, Yosemite 10.10.1.
The Right Click stopped working on my Magic Mouse. I have tried disabling and re-enabling it in System Preferences without Success. I have tried to enable the Secondary Click to 'Click on left side' just to see if I could get the secondary click to work. All of the other functions work.
I tested it on my Wife's MacBook and it is fully functional.
Can anyone help?

Left ear piece stopped working w/my iPod mini

Just like the subject line says, the left ear piece stopped working with my iPod mini after using a regular pair of black headphones for a couple weeks. Gee, this must mean your headphones were garbage? Well I purchased a pair of $5 ear phones that didn't work well at all with my iPod. Gee, I keep buying cheap ear phones. How about purchasing the authentic Apple ear buds? Well that's exactly what I did 3 weeks ago. After purchasing the ear buds for $30 that were made by Apple with the assumption it must work just fine, I tested them and found out they didn't work, however I plugged them into other devices and it worked just fine. I exchanged the pair and same problem.
So yeah, something is effed up with my iPod where it won't play any audio in the left ear bud, however when I plug my ear phones or headphones into the slot on the iPod about half way in then I can hear the music just fine on both sides.
What do I do? Am I stuck with Apple's problem with their product for good? Can they do something about this problem? Is there any steps I can follow to open the 'pod and fix it myself?

This has helped people hearing warbled sound through their earbuds. Maybe it could help you, too?

"I had the same problem and fixed it by following the procedures to opening the mini to replace the battery. Then you will see the CB that the headphones plugs into. This CB (circuit board) plugs into the main ( mother board )
Mine had worked it's way partly out. I pushed this plug back on securely and the headphones now work. Hope this helps. You can find the instructions for changing the battery by googling changing the battery on a mini IPOD."

T-400 Right Click stopped working.

I have a Lenovo T-400 laptop Thinkpad and the right click stopping working on both keys....top one and the lower one.
Any ideas are welcome. I had a local computer store look at it...he took it apart and cleaned the keyboard and touch pad but it still does not work.

just those two keys ,all the other keys work? you can run a test on the keyborad from the thinkvantage toolbox

Timeline cursor has a Left/Right Arrow with red diagonal line

I am trying to edit a timeline in Premiere, but the cursor changes to a Left/Right arrow with a red line across it. I've never seen this cursor before in CS4 and it is preventing me from moving clips in the timeline.
I tried to take a screen grab to show you all, but the cursor is always hidden in the final grab.
I resorted to drawing the curson in MS Paint.
I feel like such a *******.
I have searched high and low on Google.
Please help

Hi,
I'm using Adobe Premier and trying to find the key command to move the cursor in the timeline from the beginning of one clip to the beginning of the next clip, and back, or as a way of quickly scrolling through clips one at a time.
In FCP I use the arrow commands.
Can you help me?

You can always copy the SDk source to your project, change
the package name, and do whatever you want. I had to do this to
make the background of the date chooser truly transparent.

Go into control panel and click on sound. Select your speakers that should show up there and have a green check mark on it. Try the configure option and see if it is just a setting. You can test some different configurations there I believe. Unfortunately I think you probably have a bad connection to the speaker and will need someone to open up the cover and see if there is a solder break or a tear in the speaker.

Safari 5.1 hotkeys with left/right arrows are not working!

I had my redefined hotkeys in Safari 5 for Select Next/Previous Tab (they were cmd+right/left arrow)
When I've updated to Safari 5.1 hotkeys stopped working that way, and now they are acting like Back/Forward
But Back/Forward are cmd+[ and cmd +]
Anybody with the same problem?
P.S I've tried to delete com.apple.safari.plist - no result

I ran into the same issue.
Had to go into the Keyboard pref. pane and reassign the tab ones to shift-arrow keys

Delete, down arrow and left arrow stopped working

Randomly while I was browsing the web on my MacBook Air, my delete, down arrow and left arrow keys stopped working. One minute I was able to page down using my arrow keys, and the next, nothing happened.
I have consulted two separate Apple Support help pages (linked below for reference) for directions on fixing this issue, but none of their proposed fixes have solved the issue- it still persists.
