Legacy channel shortcuts issue?

cs5 recently installed at workplace. Chose use legacy shortcuts in keyboard prefs. Works as it should when choosing channels, but doesn't work when in curves dialog, and other adjustments as user manual states it should. Still need to do opt + # for adjs. What is up? I am only one using cs5, and don't have anyone to compare to yet. I also posted issue with color picker, and don't have comparison there either.

Changing to the Legacy shortcuts changes the Curves adjustment panel on my 10.6.4 and 10.5.8 12.0.1 installs (2-->~, 3-->1, etc.). I did note that the Help document has a copy error with the modifier key, but that's different from what you're experiencing.
Are you running the 12.0.0 or 12.0.1 version, 32bit or 64 bit, and on what OS version? With your other posts, it almost sounds like you may be running into permissions issues, and don't have write priviledges on a few files.

So the problem is that I have to click in the editing code again to write in different language, which it didn't happened before.
Just in case of shortcut keys collision I completly removed the shortcut of snippets from shift+F9, nothing changed. I really can't understand why when I press Alt+Shift to change language it goes straight to the snippets.
If anyone can help would save me from nervous breakdown!

Since this appears to be a "just started happening" issue, have you tried clearing the program cache?
Deleting a corrupted cache file
That tends to catch a lot of weird behaviors and straighten them out.

Does anyone have shortcut issue while working in PHOTOSHOP CS6 recently?

I found that a couple of my friends have similar shortcut issues recently. (We all use Photoshop almost everyday)
It seems weired that those shortcuts using single key are working fine but those shortcuts using complex keys like command + Z,T,S and etc,.
We tried to quit photoshop and start agiain. It seems working good sometimes but it does not working some other times.
Anyone has similar issues?
2 of them are using Mac OS X and one using Window 7.

Go apply them right away, see of the issue goes away; if not, come back here with more detailed, sensible information:

Broadcom-wl channel 11 issue

I'm an Arch-noob and I'm having a really hard time configuring my macbook 5.1 to be able to access my company's WPA network on channel 13,which is perfectly legal/normal here , our "headquarters" are based in the Netherlands.
I hope this post doesn't collide to much with https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=111554 but that seems to focus mainly on stability issues of another driver and not so much on the channel >11 issue.

I have been provided with 11/13th of the functionality I need.
Joining networks that are in the 1-11 channel range is not a problem whatsoever. My Arch install is perfectly able to join all networks except for the ones that are on channel 13 (haven't come across any channel 12 WAP's that I know of yet). Joining channel >11 is no issue whatsoever on the same laptop (macbook for all apple-boys out there) running OSX 10.6.x and Windows 7 (which I both dislike and rather not use). These problems are becoming a little humiliating to endure, my co-workers (apple-fanboys :S) are making fun of me every morning when I connect my cat5e cable. Any help wiping the (somewhat justified...) smirk from their faces would be greatly appreciated!

Steps I have already taken trying to resolve this issue:
1 First i added this line to my /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf:
options cfg80211 ieee80211_regdom=EU
and these lines to my /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist43.conf (should not matter, my wireless works fine except for channels 12/13):
blacklist b43
blacklist ssb
Rebooted: no channel 13.
2 I followed the advice in the "Wireless Setup" wiki and installed the "crda" package. I added wireless-regdom to the "DAEMONS" line in my rc.conf:
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng network netfs dbus hal wireless-regdom crond networkmanager)
I uncommented my country in /etc/conf.d/wireless-regdom.

4 I had a look at wpa_supplicant: they do seem to have some settings that set location:

but I am under the impression that this only works if you are actually able to “see” the ssid's you want to join using network-manager or “iwlist eth1 scanning” .

according to the documentation those channels are disabled by default:
This generation of chips contain additional regulatory support independent of
the driver. The devices use a single worldwide regulatory domain, with channels
12-14 (2.4 GHz band) and channels 52-64 and 100-140 (5 GHz band) restricted to
passive operation. Transmission on those channels is suppressed until
appropriate other traffic is observed on those channels.
Within the driver, we use the ficticious country code "X2" to represent this
worldwide regulatory domain. There is currently no interface to configure a
different domain.
you could try to enable them in the C code and recompile the drivers:

Group Policy Preferences Shortcut issues ( event ID 1085 )

I am hoping someone will be able to help me with a problem that is causing our users a headache
We have a Windows 2008 SP2 terminal server farm ( 1 gateway, 2 Terminal servers TS1 and TS2 ), we also use Group Policy Preferences to deliver app shortcuts to different AD user groups.
TS1 and TS2 were built from the same image. On TS1 users logon and get all the icons they are entitled to, on TS2 it is random to whether they get their shortcuts or not.
Both TS are rebooted daily and I have scripted removing any local profiles incase it was something left behind.
Checking the event Logs on TS2 I see several errors that appear to relate to Group Policy and correspond to when users have connected in.
any help with this issue would be appreciated.

Merged clips and modified audio channels bug/issue

My problem is that if I create a merged clip and modify it's audio channels Premiere (both CC and CC2014) does not respect the modification under specific circumstances. These circumstances are: if I use keyboard shortcuts or the source window buttons for overwrite/insert to cut the merged clip into a timeline. However, if I drag & drop the clip from the source window or from a bin into the timeline Premiere will respect the audio channels set through modify audio channels.
Here are steps needed to create my problem. You will need a video clip and an audio clip with at least two channels to reproduce this.
1. Create a merged clip from the video and audio. Does not matter if you have "Remove audio from AV clip" enabled or not.
2. Right click on the merged clip in the bin and select Modify -> Audio Channels.
3. Set the merged clip's audio channels to Number of Audio Tracks: 1, Channel Format: Mono. Set the source channel for Audio 1 to anything except Channel 1. Click OK.
4. Make sure you have the merged clip open in the source monitor. Use keyboard shortcuts (. or ,) or the insert/overwrite buttons in the source monitor to cut the clip into a sequence.
5. The merged clip in the sequence will use channel 1 for audio, even though it has been set to use another channel.
6. Now try drag & dropping the merged clip from either the source monitor or from a bin into the sequence. It will now use the audio channel that has been set through modify audio channels.
My workaround is to use drag & drop for now for affected clips, but in the long run this is a pain in the backside.
My question is if this is something that affects other users as well. And while I'm waiting for a fix, if anyone has any suggestions on how to get modified audio channels to work properly, I will gladly listen.
I have filed a bug report for this. I have reproduced this on multiple Windows 7 machines with Premiere Pro CC and on two Macs with both CC and CC 2014.
EDIT to add: I have been in discussion with Rameez from Adobe about this through the support chat and have been told that this is working as intended. He suggested I post a thread about it to see how other editors feel about the functionality. I personally feel that the way it works now makes no sense at all. If others feel the same way, maybe this issue can be fixed in a future update. So please make your voice heard.
EDIT to add: In most usage this might not be an issue at all. But if for example you have external audio on multiple channels and to make sure you have a clean timeline, you wish to remove extra tracks from your merged clips and those extra tracks happen to be any track before the last one(s), you will find that editing the merged clip in in any other way than drag & dropping it in the sequence will result in you losing those last tracks instead of any tracks in the middle that you have disable through modify audio channels. I would think that the audio channel modifications should work no matter what way you cut the merged clip in.

Going to try, but here is my workflow and have not encountered any problems until this last P/U days footage. I've been doing things this way because I found having all files in the project was causing it to crash constantly when I was working. I have a new I7' processor IMac with 24 gigs of RAM. And since Premiere does not allow you to have multiple projects open at the same time (Wish this would change. Avid and FCP both allowed multiple projects) I have to do things this way.
Pre-workflow Project File
Label all Video and Audio files to match Scene #'/Takes
Set in points on all video and audio to reflect slate
Merge Clips
Working Project File
Import only Merged Clips into Project. Either via import or copy/paste
Now I've done this workflow from just about the very beginning. Deleting all of the original source video and all audio clips from my working project so only my bins containing my merged clips remain. Have had no problems and edit has been smooth. Did a pickup day last week, followed same steps as I've done in the past, imported the merged clips into my working project and the clips have the audio set to none by default. Now once I go into the sequence I can manually set it and it's there but I cannot play audio in the source monitor which is how I edit, there's no reason I should have to go back to the crappy FCP way of editing doing the copy and paste from a sequence.

Shortcut issue on a non-English Keyboard

This is just a small issue, but nevertheless annoying.
I'm on a danish keyboard layout, where the ";" key is a actually assigned to a letter "Æ".
Thus I cannot press "option+Æ" to show/hide guides. I can assign the function to a different shortcut,
but it is nice to use "same old".
As it is still the same key, why doesn't this work? Is there a trick?
It is on a mac - CS5.

Look up the part number for the keyboard you want in the Hardware Maintenance Manual. There will be at least two manufacturers. A good place to search for the part is IBM Parts.

SATA/IDE channel configuration issues

Ok here's the setup:
First SATA Channel: Seagate 7200RPM 80GB HDD
Primary IDE Channel: LG 52x CD-ROM Drive
Secondary IDE Channel: Western Digital 7200RPM 160GB HDD
OS: Windows XP SP1
Mobo: MSI 865PE Neo2-P MS-6728 Version 2
The bios can detect all drives.
If I use the recommended On-chip IDE Configuration mode as mentioned on page 3-23 in the manual, Windows XP loads and then goes through the process of detecting the Primary and Secondary IDE channel.
After detecting it reports that Windows reports that the "Driver is not intended for this platform".
If you look under Administrative Tools in Control Panel is refuses to detect the PATA drive as well.
I tried swapping the PATA and the CD drives around but the above applied.
If I try the following drive configuration and set the bios ATA Configuration to PATA & SATA then all drives are detected in Windows:
First SATA Channel: Seagate 7200RPM 80GB HDD
Primary IDE Channel Master: LG 52x CD-ROM Drive
Primary IDE Channel Slave: Western Digital 7200RPM 160GB HDD
So what's up? I've tried tinkering around with Legacy/Native, PATA/SATA Only etc and I've run out of ideas.

I got similiar problem as b52 when I plugin an old P-ATA deathstar drive as master on first primary IDE and a LITE-ON dvd-rom as master on secondary. When I enter Windows the hardware auto wiz starts working and after a little while reports that two devices of type "IDE channel" have "Driver is not intended for this platform". I currently use the settings Danny recommends above. Weird thing is both the deathstar and the LITE-ON drive seem to work great. Of course I want to get rid of the exclamation marks in my device manager though. I read elsewhere drive emulation software could be a culprit, and renaming/deleting atapi.sys could be a problem solver - but not for me it turned out. Anyone got other methods to try out?

FTP sender channel filename issue

I have created a sender FTP channel with Filename Smart_*.csv.
But channel is not picking files from FTP server, even not working for *.csv.
Although when I have mentioned the complete filename in channel, its picking the file from server.

Receiver SOAP HTTPS channel certificate issue in SAP 7.31

We have imported the Partners Https certificate in our NWA and have tried to click the check box of certificate authentication in communication channel .
However we are still getting an error in CC " SSLcertificate exception : Peer certificate rejected by chain Verifier " .
Could you you please tell us that what are we missing on and why are we getting this issue .

Is the cert provided a self-signed cert or signed by a CA entity? If the latter, you need to import all the Certs in the chain of trust (intermediate and root) into Trusted CA key store too.
You can normally get the CA certs directly from the CA's website, but if you are unsure, you can check with your partner.

Bluetooth and Plantronics Legacy random disconnect issues

I've been using the latest MAXX with the latest Plantronics Legacy headset. Randomly, bluetooth will disconnect, the call will remain active but does not automatically failover to either handset or speaker option (literally the call is active and I'm in limbo). The only way to reengage with the caller is to press speaker, then to make matters worse, the phone will start cycling through headset, bluetooth, speaker etc. until the call ends! When I recycle the phone and bluetooth the problem goes away, then reappears randomly (days or a week later). Anyone having this issue? Any sense on it being related to the phone or bluetooth? I've installed the latest drivers for both and I'm now going to cycle the phone daily in the event it's a caching issue somewhen in between the OS's. Either way, Motorola or Plantronics need to make a better thing...

Bluetooth headsets are a great way to communicate, especially while on the go. It will be my pleasure to assist with getting your Plantronics earpiece to work properly. First, may I ask is there any physical or liquid damage on the Bluetooth or the Droid Maxx? Also, what software and android version do you have installed on the Maxx? Can I assume that the Plantronics Bluetooth earpiece is the only Bluetooth device profile that’s connected to the Maxx? I would suggest unpairing the earpiece from the phone, then reboot the device, and re-pair the earpiece. Once you have done so then please retest an post your findings. I’m looking forward to your reply.

CS6 DCS 2.0 Channel Color Issue

Hello!
I'm creating a DCS 2.0 EPS file in photoshop CS6, and when I assign PANTONE colors to the channels, it glitches out when I print it from illustrator CS6.
Certain colors randomly will not print any data.
So I renamed the channels in the DCS EPS file and removed the PANTONE Spot color data, and that seemed to fix the issue. Is there a patch that fixes this issue?
Did I find the first glitch in CS6? Do I win a prize?

I work for Dallas Cowboys Merchandising. I'm doing these as high end separations, so it's absolutely imperative that I use DCS 2.0 files for art that has been built in photoshop. All separation artists use this format for high end seps. I wonder if any other production artists have encountered the same issue.

Gnome-keyboard-shortcut issue

Hi,
I've configured keyboard shortcuts in gnome-keyboard-shortcuts to launch firefox, evolution. They work fine when i configure them, however after a xorg restart they act wierd.... I have to press the button several time before it opens..
for example, i press the firefox key.. and start doing ps -ef | grep firefox but nothing...
after pressing the button 4 times (interval of 10 seconds in between) firefox finally opens.
same deal with evolution and rhythmbox.
its not that my system is slow because if i click on the icon it opens up in 1 second.
I just dont know how i should diagnose this. Thanks for the help

Portal Mail Channel - MailProvider Issue

We have noticed an unusual bug in our Portal.
When you have a mail channel, if you click on any mail other than the first email link in the channel, a new window opens with the mail displayed in Sun One Mail. But the problem is, if you do any actions on this mail, the mail window actually thinks you are on the first email in the list. So for example, if you try to delete the email you just opened, the first email in the list will actually be deleted.
Took us a while to realize what was going on, we had students who use our system inform us a few times of what appeared to be random mail deletions. Until we realized what was happening.
If you launch Sun One Mail first, then navigate through your email, it works fine. We only see an issue if you click on mail from the mail channel (which uses a MailProvider).
Has anyone seen this problem before? Know if there is a patch to address it?

Have you been able to extend the Sun supplied MailProvider to allow viewing/deleteing of mail messages or did you have to create your own mail channel?
We are trying to use the Sun suplied MailProvider, but we are not having much luck. Any info would be appreciated.
