Legacy Systems in Your SAML 2.0 Landscape?

Hello
I'm trying to run  a legacy system under SAML2
I have a legacy system (Netweaver AS 7) and a  a CE 7.2  with IDM 7.1 sps5 using  SAML2.
Iu2019m having trouble piecing it together from the IDM help files. u201CIncluding Legacy Systems in Your SAML 2.0 Landscape u201C
I have set up both systems as trusted
HTTPS active
IDM SAML2 as a Identity provider  and Service provider
Selected legacy systems supported (issue logon tickets) on the Identity provider.
Iu2019m just wondering what steps have I missed to get this to work?
Any help appreciated.

Ian

  • Diagnostics Agent installation - which SID for the systems in your landscap

    Hi,
I have a question in regads to installing the Diagnostics Agent on the systems in your landscape: ie. I want to install the Diagnostics Agent on all systems, and SAP suggests the system ID "DAA" as standard sid. From my experience there are no errors or exceptions when I use the system id DAA for a few or all systems.
However, will I run into problems later on (for example, when using root cause analysis, etc.)? Can I use the standard system id DAA for several systems/hosts, or should I use a seperate system ID (DAA, DAB, DAC, etc.) for each Diagnostics Agent?
    thanks,
    Walter

    Hi,
We have used same SIDs (the default DAA) for a few hosts in our landscape and this did not cause a problem.
But in my opinion best to use DAA, DAB, DAC etc in order to remove any room for confusion for both the humans and the systems

  • Configuration management of Legacy systems in Solution manager

    Hi
We are about to start a SAP Project, and one of our starting point is of course the solution manager.
In relation to this we are wondering if the solution manager could help with the configuration management of our old legacy systems as well ?
Does anybody have any experience / recommendation / thoughts about this ?

  • Synchronization between SAP and Legacy system for Equipment Master

    Hello Experts
We are moving Equipment master from our legacy system to SAP system using LSMW direct input. After moving the data into SAP, legacy system will be there for a while like 6 month or a Year. So we need to setup a process which can sync Equipment data back into SAP for this period on daily basis. What would be the best method for doing this synch on daily basis??
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance
    -Harkamal

One method is to create a report which will select all the new entries created and create a file with the decided fields and send it to the legacy application. You can schedule this report to run every day or based on the freequency both parties agree. In the program store the last run date of the program in TVARVC table and pick up the equipment master records created after the last run date,
so that the program sends only new records every timr.
If you have XI/PI in your landscape , depending on the capabilities of this legacy system you can change this file into inserting the data into a JDBC table , web service etc

  • Uploading data from a view in legacy system to SAP

    Hi,
I am developing a custom table in sap. The data in this table will be loaded from a view which exists in the clients legacy system (Oracle db). There will be no middleware for the data transfer.
How can this be done in SAP? Can anybody provide a detailed procedure to do this?
    Thanks in advance !!!!

    Hi
Is the Legacy system capable of calling 'BAPI' or 'RFC'.
If yes, than you can create a RFC function module and with in the function module, you can write code to populate values to ZTABLE.
When the Legacy system calls the RFC with values, your Ztable will be updated

  • Open Internal Orders from legacy system

    Hi,
Is there a way to bring over open projects (Internal Orders) from legacy system into SAP?, especially the way to bring over legacy cost information collected on such projects.
    Would appreciate any help,

    Hi
As such you cannot do this. You download your Legacy system data to an excel sheet and then upload the PO details into SAP using  an LSMW etc.

  • IDOC/BAPI for Production order creation from Legacy system

    Hi all
We are using an interface to create Production orders from legacy to SAP. Would you recommend an IDOC or a BAPI to create Production orders. If IDOC or BAPI then could you please mention which one?
    thanks a bunch

    Hi John,
For your purposes, please use BAPI for production order creation from legacy system. There is no standard inbound IDoc available to use. SAP has an IDoc for outbound interface only (message type LOIPRO).
If there is an inbound IDoc available, I would recommend to use an IDoc.
IDoc technology has excellent error handling and will allow you to reprocess an error (if any).
BAPI is also good approach to use and fast in term of  processing.
For BAPI approach, you can use BAPI BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE.
    Hope this will help.

  • Importing Opening Balances from Legacy System

    Hi All,
I am trying to import opeing balances for Items, Vendors and Customers and GL a/c from legacy system to SAP B1.
Can anay one of you suggest the process involved at SAP B1 end for importing the balances?
I know DTW can be used, but can anyone explain the process for SAP B1?
I would appriciate your time spent on answering this.

G/L A/c Balances have to brought in as the last step.  You can use the Journal Entry to enter the opening balances or Administration > System Initialization > Opening Balance
BP Balances can be imported using DTW templates for Invoices, Credit Memo's etc.  There are examples in the DTW folder.
Inventory Balances can be imported using the Stock taking template and the Cost of the Items can be imported as a price list and the Inventory > Inventory Transactions > Initial Quantities, Inventory Tracking and Stock Posting.
Using the stock posting tab you can reconcile the inventory based on the pricelist to which you had imported the Inventory costs.
If you need more details pls let me know

  • Item import to oracle inventory from legacy system

    Hi,
We have a requirement where we need to import a very large number of items (close to 500,000) from a legacy system to oracle inventory.
We are using oracle open interface for this. We have designed a temp table for this purpose in order to validate data before moving it to the oracle interface tables. The data to be migrated is present in a separate data base and we need to move this data to Oracle temp table.
Can we use DB link to migrate this kind of data(in terms of volume)? Also what are the best practices that need to be followed while importing data to Oracle inventory? Is there any other way that this can be done?
Please share your thoughts and suggestions on this
    Thanks
    AM

    Hi,
Some times DB link will fail, Please create custom package and try to interface with legacy system for periodically fetching the data into your tables. If the data is bulk please use API instead of Interface tables.
    Thanks.

  • How to extract non-sap data (A/R Invoices from Legacy system) into SAP ICR

    Hi
We are trying to bring A/R invoices from a legacy system into SAP ICR special ledger so that ICR tool can be used these items for intercompany reconcilliation. Could you please let's know the way to load these legacy AR invoice items into ICR data base using any function moduels.
    Regards,
    Eswar.

    Hello Eswar,
In what form do you have these "external" open items? If they are contained in a file you should simply import the file in ICR during data selection using the File Upload functionality. There is no need to store them in a special purpose ledger first. Actually you would have to create a BADI implementation to extract the data from that special purpose ledger during data selection. Please consider using File Upload standard functionality.
If for some reason this cannot be used you could implement a logic calling RFC enabled function module FB_ICRC_ADD_DATA_RFC which will take the open items you are supplying in your logic and push them into the ICR database. This strategy could be used to include these external open items without them being processed during data selection.
    Best regards,
    Ralph

  • Data load from Legacy system to BW Server through BAPI

Requirements: We have different kind of legacy systems and SAP BW server. We want to load all legacy system data into SAP BW server using BAPI. Before loading we have to validate all data. If there are bad data, data missing we have to let the legacy system user/ operator knows to fix the data into their system with detail explanation. When it is fixed, we have to load the data again.
Load Scenario:  We have two options to load data from legacy systems to BW Server.
    1.     We need to load data directly from legacy system to BW Server using BAPI program.
    2.     Legacy Systems data would be in workstations or flash drive as .txt (one line separated by comma) or .csv file. Need to load from .txt /.csv file to BW Server using BAPI program.
What we want in the BAPI program code?
It will Read / Retrieve data from text / csv file and will put into the Internal table. Internal table structure would be based on BAPI InfoObject structure.
Call BAPI InfoObject function module ‘BAPI_IOBJ_CREATE’ to create InfoObject, include all necessary / default components, do the error check, load the data and return the status.
Could some one help me with the sample code please? I am new in ABAP / BAPI coding.
Is there any other better idea to load data from legacy system to BW server? BTW we are using BW 3.10. Is there any better option with BI 7.0 to resolve the issue? I appreciate your help.

    my answers:
    1. this is a scendario for a data push into SAP BW. You can only use SOAP-Based Transfer of Data.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fd/8012403dbedd5fe10000000a155106/frameset.htm
(here for BW 3.5, but you'll find similar for 7.0)
In this scenario you'll have an RFC dinamically created for every Infosource you need to transfer data.
    2. You can make a chain for each data load, so you can call the RFC "RSPC_API_CHAIN_START" to start the chain from external.
the second solution is more simply and available on every release.

  • Data Migration from Legacy system to ECC systems via ETL through SAP PI

    Hi All,
I wanted to know if we can migrate the data from Legacy systems to ECC systems via PI.
What I understand is there is ETL tool is used to extract the data from legacy system, and what client is looking to load that data via PI?
Can we do that ? I am concerned because this will involve mass data?
If I have to use PI , I see option of  PROXY / IDOC /FILE as receiver in ECC system (take the data from ETL)?
Can somebody has done this earlier , please share the approach.
    Thanks,
    Pushkar Patel

    Hi ,
I require few details from you.
    1. What ETL tool you are using, If Informatica, it already have PowerConnect to connect to SAP. So you can create source and Target Structure and also you can use RFC's to send data to R/3. Else, for other ETL tools, can you prepare RFC's or any other way to send data to R/3. let me know the tool.
    2. Does R/3 contains the master data tables? If yes, then try to use LSMW for Mass upload of data to tables.
If your client don't want to use either of these options please elaborate, what is the case.

  • How to transfer data from legacy system  to SAP

    Hi Friends,
I would like to know the process and the steps followed to transfer data from my legacy system to SAP.
Suppose if i have all the data in the form of Excel sheet or doc type. How can i transfer this data into SAP.
    Please explain the steps followed.
    Appreciate your help
    Anil

    Hi ,
Conversion of legacy data into SAP can be uploaded using a standard SAP Tool called LSMW ( TCode:LSMW).
the below link gives a brief explanation of the LSMW tool
    http://tutorialsap.com/abap/sap-lsmw-tutorial-with-steps-to-create.html
There are various methods to upload data within LSMW. If the number of records are very high like Article Master or  Conditions for Retail the IDOC method must be used.
    Standard IDocs
    1. Article Master - ARTMAS
    2. Conditions - COND_A
    3. Source list - SRCLST
    4. Customer Master or WRF3/WRF6 tables - DEBMAS
    5. Vendor master- CREMAS
Etc. Use transaction code WE60 to see the structure of each of the idocs. New enhancements can be done for the idocs if the required field is not available.

  • Data to be fetched from legacy system to SAP and doc needs to bee posted

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where my client is using some application in Legacy system(Fuel Software) which receives fuel(Petrol, Deasel, CNG) in system and issue the same to company owned vehicles and wants that sap should be integrated and document also needs to be posted in sap for all the receivings and isssuences against their vehicles.
    Process Designed is:
    1. Required Data file will be picked from legacy system with some date stamp and will be placed in sap directory.
    2. There will be batch job which will check for new file based on date stamp.
    3. Will pick record n will pass to Goods_mvt_create bapi and then will post the document.
    4. We have created Vehicles as Internal orders in sap and whenever any issue will be there internal order no will be captured.
    5. By this way we are receiving and issuing in sap.
Now my problem is i am stuck in designing step 1 and rest 2,3,4,5 steps have already been designed and working fine. Need your help in step 1. Else you may suggest some better way-out but again want to mention rest steps are already mapped
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi Ashutosh,
    You can use functions:
    FTP_CLIENT_TO_R3
    FTP_COMMAND
    FTP_COMMAND_LIST
    FTP_CONNECT
    FTP_COPY
    FTP_DISCONNECT
    FTP_R3_TO_CLIENT
    FTP_R3_TO_SERVER
    FTP_SERVER_TO_R3
    FTP_START_REG_SERVER
    FTP_START_SAPFTP
    FTP_STOP_REG_SERVER
    FTP_VERSION
which allow you to connect from SAP ERP to any FTP server (if the legacy has it). You can validate the sample program RSFTP007.
