Legend Properties in WAD chart

Hi
I created a View on a Query which shows only top10 employees based on their age
I integraded view to a chart(bar) in WAD.
When i executed the template and compared it with output in view
The Graph and data is correct but LEGEND is displaying only 9 out of 10 employee names
I tried changing the properties of legend its not working.....please update
Thanks

hi,
as You said you are getting correct data in the View OutPut, means the problem is with WAD settings only,
In WAD: Select the Chart Item, left side in properties, you can see the Web Item Parametres Tab; under the Display NOde you can see the width & Height (default values are 300),
you increase the height & Width to 400 and execute the report.
Hope it helps you.

  • Eliminate negative sign in WAD Chart

    hello experts,
I have a WAD Chart and I am using the Stacked Columns100% 2.5D chart type. This chart is based on a query which has a two keyfigures Sales 1 and Sales2. Now some of the values in these key figures are in negatives. So, how can I eliminate those negative signs and allow my chart to treat those values as positive.
for e.g Now My chart shows as Sales1 = -50% and Sales2 = -50%. I want to show these percent values in positive.
Please help and points will be granted.
    Thanks,
    Rishi

    Hi,
Try create a formula (if  the Key fig is based on formula )and use absolute function which is present in mathematical functions. That is Abs(Key Fig) is your formula.
    Option A.Steps :
    1. Make that key figure as always Hide in Display tab in the properties for this Key figure.
    2. Create a New formula on that Key figure.
3.In Formula use Absolute Value function ABS on that key figure.
4.Now this will give you the required result you needed.
Option B. Also Create a formula.
    Now use this formula
    ( KF <= 0)( -1)(KF) OR (KF >= 0)*(KF)
    Hope this helps,

  • Display column values as a series/legend on a line chart where one column value can be more than one category

    Hi Everyone
I don't know if this is possible or not, so I will describe it. I have a column in a table called Filing. There are currently three values in it ("Abuse", "Neglect", "Voluntary") and each record has this populated. I also have
the below slicer for the column also.
I would like to add a fourth value called "Abuse/Neglect" that would identify instances where both an Abuse and Neglect petition was filed, which is a subset of the Abuse and Neglect records in the Filing column.
My question is, is it possible to create a line chart that has the 4 Filing possibilities: "Abuse", "Neglect", "Voluntary", "Abuse/Neglect" as the Series/Legend in the line chart?
The problem is that there are records that are more than one category: Abuse or Neglect records can also be Abuse/Neglect.
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
According to your description, there is a column with the values ("Abuse", "Neglect", "Voluntary") in your table, now what you need to is that add another value "Abuse/Neglect" in this column, and then use it
as Series/Legend in the line chart, right?
In this case, you can add calculated column to your table based on your logic. A calculated column is a column that you add to an existing PowerPivot table. Instead of pasting or importing values in the column, you create a DAX formula that defines
the column values. The calculated column can be used in a PivotTable, PivotChart, or Power View report as you would any other data column. Please refer to the link below to see the details.

  • Custom color palette in WAD charts

    Hi BI Experts,
we are trying to create a custom color palette, which we want to apply to all your WAD charts.
Can anyone tell us how to do this?
Of course we can customize the colors in each chart, but that's a hell of a lot of work. Moreover, there doesn't seem to be any way to save the custom colors, but we have to recreate the colors with the color picker for every single chart.
The WAD chart wizard allows to choose between color palettes "Enjoy", "Streamline", "Tradeshow" and "User specific".
If it is not possible to create a custom color palette, can we modify one of these SAP color palettes? What does "User specific" mean?
Any help will be much appreciated (and of course rewarded with points).

  • Value axis in WAD Chart

    Hello Experts
I am using a Chart web-item in a WAD web template. Now I have set up the value axis and the sample data property of the chart with a minimum value = -500 and max value = 3000. However, when I execute the web template on the portal the value axis show a strange behaviour with a max value = 0 and min value = -250000.
Has any one encountered a similar problem?
    Looking forward for your help.

  • Displaying 0CALMONTH in WAD Chart - Date enclosed with brackets []

Hi, when I run a chart with 0CALMONTH the Date shows up as [05/2010], [06/2010]...   It displays the date with brackets around it.  Now, I'm supposing this is because 0CALMONTH has no Text configured.  Now I'm sure lot's of people use charts with 0CALMONTH in the bottom Axis of their charts and I'm sure they don't want the brackets as I don't.  I've seen lots of posts on missing text for 0CALMONTH, but haven't really found out a definitive answer.
So how is everyone getting around this so their charts do not show the brackets around 0CALMONTH in WAD Charts?

    Good day, Kenneth,
The brackets were introduced with BW 7.x systems. The idea behind them is to show which is KEY and which is TEXT. The user can now clearly distinguish the key and description of each characteristic or structure member on the axis. Unfortunately, there is no way to 'correct' this as it is seen as an improvement

  • Contol of Legend colours across multiple charts

    Post Author: Linda
    CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
I have created a number of pie charts based on the same data but each with only a subset of the data. The range of results may differ across the charts. I need to have the segments coloured consistently by the value of the legend i.e. :
chart 1 only has values for status of Failed
chart 2 has values for all possible status i.e. Failed, No run & Passed
chart 3 only has values for status of Passed
I can control the colour pallette which is used by each chart but need help on establishing a link to the values returned. I want the same colour scheme displayed for each chart e.g. Failed is always red, Passed is always Green, etc. However when data does not exist for a specific value I don't get consitency i.e. in the example above using the same colour pallette, the Failed for chart one and the Passed for chart three would both use the first colour in the pallette in this case would both be green which does not convey the right message.

    Linda,
You've hit upon a very troubling aspect of working with WebI in that columns that don't accumulate at different aggregations are "dropped".  I have encountered the same situation and wound up having to build a custom SQL to ensure that all columns are always populated with at least of value of zero in order for them to remain constant in the report.  I think what we all want everytime is a Chi Square (gives a distrubtion of our data regardless of "dropouts"), but what we get is a plain old dataset.  If you want more info on how to build the custom SQL post back here please.

  • Automatic Colour settings problem for WAD Chart Column type

    Hi,
In WAD (BI 7.0) Chart Creation i am having issues with colour settings for Chart item Column type with 3D. I have six key fig in query i am trying to show all KF in Chart. But it is showing only one colour for all keyfigs. atlast  I have manually assigned different colours for different series, but no use... the issue remains same.. Please help me on this issue
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Harsh

    Hi Harsh,
    Please try the following options.
    1. Try swapping the axes. Certain charts follow the YX convention.
    2. Right Click > Edit > Click on 'Refine' > Click on the chart type on the right frame (Bars/Pie etc) > [OK] Vary Category by Color: Enable this checkbox.
    3. If you have finished with these settings, you may switch back to Wizard mode to follow up the settings (Step 3 of 6 - Value Properties)
    4. Under Categories in Wizard, just make sure you are giving options to suit all the Categories in an uniform fashion. To begin with don't bother to give a fixed Category Count. (As your chart size may increase dynamically based on GRID data)
    5. Goto Refine > Click on Global Settings > Choose 'Color Palette' > Tradeshow/Enjoy/StreamLine/Custom : These are the optional themes which may be well adjusted to suit your requirements.
    Thanks,

  • Legend with a line chart

I am working on a line chart and want to add a legend to it.
For the purpose I am using
    <mx:Legend dataProvider="{bigChart}"/>
Now the y-axis in the chart can display different properties
based on the items clicked before rendering. It can be profitAmount
or it could be goodsSold. So the yAxis attribute keeps on changing.
What happens with this legend is that the bos appears but
with no text. Is there a way I can force some text to
    appear?

nevermind I was missing displayName tag

  • Legend for multiple waveform chart

I have a Waveform Chart (and legend) with multiple waveforms.  I can control the visibility of a given waveform on the chart programmatically using the "ActPlot" and "Plot.Visible?" properties.
Is it possible to programmatically make the legend only contain the plot names that are visible at any given time?
    Cheers,

    CLD

    Hello DanB,
Following along the lines of what smercurio_fc suggested, you can use the Legend>Number Of Rows property (LegNumRows) to change the number of rows of your legend to the number of plots you are viewing, and then use the Plot>Plot Name property (Plot.Name) to edit the names of the plots yourself. I cannot see a property to extract these names dynamically, so this is probably your best bet.
I hope this helps, otherwise please do let us know if there is anything further,

  • Line break symbol in WAD Chart

    Hi,
We have WAD 3.5 but Query Designer 7.0.  And Internet Explorer 7.
We have a query where the column description has been split in two lines in the Query Designer.
When this query is put as chart in WAD a strange symbol is shown where the text is supposed to be split  (and the line is not split, but that is less of an issue.)
However when the same query is put as table in WAD, everything is fine.
Any suggestions on getting rid of this symbol?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
    Reynir

    Hi Reynir,
I too have encountered the enter symbol in the Chart Legend. I think the only way to get rid of the same is to avoid using a line break in the Char desc in Query Designer, use a separator ( ) or so to denote what you wish to on the 2nd line - but that would make the col width too wide in the table view.

  • How to - WAD chart type

    Hi,
I would like to know how I can create this kind of application using WAD drop down list
I would like to create a drop down list displaying the different chart types so that when I select the chart that I want it updates .
I can achieve this with command function "call chart properties dialog" but thats not what I want as the different charts doesn't display in the list.
    thanks

    Hi,
Now I want to continue with this task.
I have created drop down list with plain HTML code so how do I proceed.

  • Help needed in WAD charts Creation

    Hi Gurus,
I have chosen the "charts" Web item into the layout. In the chart edit or Properties i am not able to find an option to choose the characteristics and Keyfigures in the Axis.
    Example :  Rows :
                    1) material
                    2) plant
                    3) material Type
                    4) Week Beginning
    and          Columns:
                  1) consumption
                  2) receipts
                  3) Total Inventory
I need the chart to be based on the Week beginning( characteristic) and this characteristic values should be displayed in the X-axis.
The key figures value should be displayed as columns.
I dont see any options to choose the characteristics and key figures in x and y axis in the chart designer. Please let me know or any how to documents on this.

    Hi  Satish,
Please study the following which may help you creating the chart.

Changing the Display: Table, Chart, Table and Chart
In your Web application, you want to be able to display data in a table or graphic, similar to in the Web Analyzer.
You can do this by using the Dropdown Box Web item and linking the commands for showing and hiding Web items to it:
           1.      Insert the Analysis and Chart Web items into your Web template. Set the required parameters and link both Web items to the same data provider. For the initial display type, set the Visibility parameter of the Chart Web item to Hidden.
           2.      To allow users to toggle the display type, choose the Dropdown Box Web item and drag it to your Web template using drag and drop.
           3.      Choose the data binding type Fixed List of Options from the parameter list for the Web item. This allows you to define your own commands for each entry in the dropdown box.
           4.      In the fixed list of options, enter a text (such as "table") in the Description of Selection field. This text can be language-dependent.
           5.      For the corresponding command, call the command wizard by choosing the pushbutton (see Commands).
           6.      On the All Commands tab page, choose Commands for Web Items. Select the command Set Web Item Parameters (SET_ITEM_PARAMETERS) and double-click it to choose it.
           7.      Since the table must be switched to visible to select the table display type in the Web application, choose the Analysis Web item for Target Web Item. All parameters for the Analysis Web item are now displayed.
           8.      Set the Visibility parameter (VISIBILITY) to Visible (VISIBLE). Do not accept the default value.
           9.      Since the graphic display must be switched to hidden to select the table display type in the Web application, choose Next Command in the command wizard.
       10.      Insert the Set Web Item Parameters (SET_ITEM_PARAMETERS) command again.
       11.      This time, choose the Chart Web item as the target Web item and set the Visibility parameter (VISIBILITY) to Hidden (HIDDEN). Do not accept the default value.
       12.      Repeat steps four to eleven for the dropdown box entries Chart (switch Analysis Web item to hidden, Chart Web item to visible) and Table and Chart (switch Analysis Web item and Chart Web item to visible).

  • LIne up Legend entries with stacked chart

I have an appliction where on the front panel I need to display anywhere from 1 to 16 channels in a stacked waveform plot.  for ease of viewing, I would like the entries in the plot legend to line up with their respective channels in the graphs, similar to the rather crude picture i'm attaching.  The hangup in this is I need to be able to vary the number of charts displayed, 16 max, during runtime.
In my mind, one option is to go with subpanels and have a panel setup for each number of channels i wish to display.  However, I think this would be easier if it were supported by the Waveform Chart itself.  I'm open to any and all suggestions.  Thanks!!!

If your plot areas are that narrow you can resize the default plot legend text size to meet the size of one plot window. Like this:
The number of plot legend lines shown can be adjusted by using Create -> Property Node -> Legend -> Number of Rows.
Also you can select which plot will be visible/invisible in any given time by using Property Node -> Active Plot and Property Node -> Plot -> Visible combination.
