Legit email marked as spam

Anyone know a good contact at Comcast to help clear up a problem with the Comcast spam filter? Any email sent from our community website is now being sent to the spam folder (if turned on) in residents email accounts. I've tried customer support, but the agent said he couldn't find anything wrong. This is only an issue with Comcast...emails are not blacklisted, only marked as spam.

Comcast Security Assurance should be able to help you with this. Call them at 1-888-565-4329 (from http://constantguard.comcast.net/dedicated-support/).
The first-line reps there are sometimes not so helpful. If so, be persistent, and keep at them until you get a satisfactory answer.

  • All Outgoing Emails Marked as SPAM

As of today, the primary PC we have used for years for our main .net account has all outgoing email marked as spam and blocked. Even single addressee, no content emails are bounced back as SPAM. I can still receive on the primary PC, and still send from other devices with the same account. I have deleted and re-added the account on the PC to make sure the server and port settings are current to no avail. Any thoughts on what might have happened?

As stated in the Spam FAQ page, you will not get any response when sending the message to [email protected] for review. You attach the message that you are unable to send, and they review it. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the filter will either be updated to allow the content that was previously blocked, or it will be determined to be a legitimate block and no changes will be made.
Some troubleshooting steps you can try:
If you have a signature, try removing one line at a time from it and attempting to send the message again. Some signatures look like "ads" to the filters, apparently.
If you are using a pop3 client (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.) try sending your message from the verizon.net website. If this resolves the issue, then it is something that your client is adding to the message that is causing it to be blocked.
If the Subject line of your message has a whole bunch of "Fwd: Fwd: Re: Fwd:" try removing some of them.
Remove any links/URLs from the email one at a time to isolate if one of them is causing the block.
Some people have suggested sending the message to [email protected] for investigation. This may work for you as well.

  • How do u turn in emails & mark as spam & block phone numbers.

I can not figure out to mark an email as spam & keep it from emailing again.
Also how do I block someone from calling me Or atleast make it where it only comes through in an emergency & with only my permission.
I have voice control but I don't think it's Suri. It's asking me to buy the app. I thot the iPhone 4 had Suri.

Sign your cell number up on the Federal Do Not Call list. www.donotcall.gov
Once you have been on the list for 30days, report them every time they call, they wont last a week. I know it's not an immediate solution, but it will work in the long run. I've had the same problems in the past with the auto dialer collection agency looking for someone who is not me. Apparently I have a number that someone a few years ago had and they must have skipped on alot of debt. I get a new company about once every month or two. All the same thing, a recorded message saying if I am so and so, then I need to call them back at some number, that noone ever answers. I don't even bother anymore and just report them right away.

  • Emails keep coming back when deleted and marked as spam

I've got iPhone and iPad, both upgraded to iOS 7.1.2
I'm using several IMAP email accounts and on all of them I'm getting a very annoying problem.
When I delete or mark as SPAM an email, then it keeps reappearIng in the Inbox.
As far as I read on the Web, this is a well known and unsolved problem that many users experienced for the last 2-3 years.
How the **** is possible that Apple is unable to fix this bloody bug?!?
    Did someone find a solution?
    Many thanks in advance

Usually when a post gets no response no one knows the answer, or there isn't enough information provided to make a guess, or the question has been asked and answered so frequently that a simple search would find the answer

  • Office 365 OWA, mail via Safari is marked as spam

    Hi,
HTML email send via the web based Outlook Web App (Office 365) in Safari (7.0.6) is marked as spam and so for bounced by external mailservers. Plain text email via Safari or email send via Firefox or Chrome (HTML or plain text) isn't marked as spam.
    Anyone facing the same issue?

    I have the same issue.
Mail works perfectly.. NO SPAM issues, EXCEPT when using Safari.
This is as much an APPLE issue as a Microsoft issue. All other browsers work perfectly.  So, what is Apple doing in Safari
that causes it to be considered Spam?
Because of this I'm going to be forced to start using Firefox, which Apple probably doesn't want its users to do.

  • I just upgraded to OS X 10.6.7 and mail is putting most of my emails in the Spam folder.  I move them to the appropriate folder, but is there anything else I can do to "train it"?

You can see that most of my question is the title.  I just upgraded to OS X 10.6.7 & have a minor problem.  Mail keeps putting most of my emails into the Spam Folder.  I then move them to the appropriate folders (I have several email accounts)  Will this eventually train the program to know what is spam & what is not or am I stuck with constantly doing this?

Returning to Mail Preferences - Junk Mail, in the section
    When junk mail arrives:
select mark as junk mail but leave it in my inbox
This should then give you the opportunity to mark it as Not Junk
and after several days it may improve.
I say 'may improve', based on my experience of when I upgraded to 10.5 a few years ago.  It took a while to learn what I kept insisting was not junk. It is a slow learner but it got there.
P.S. When you are satisfied it is identifying junk reasonably accurately, you can change the Preferences setting back to  'Move it to the Junk mail box'

  • Convergence Mark as Spam

The SUN Convergence Help has this listed
How Do I Mark a Message as Spam?
    1. Click the name of the email folder that contains the messages you want to mark as spam.
    2. Select the message or messages you want to mark as spam.
    3. From the toolbar menu, click the Spam icon.
That button does not seem to exist yet.

    karl.rossing wrote:
That button does not seem to exist yet.The button does exist, however the overall functionality still requires "refinement".
The reason the button doesn't show up by default is due to RFE #6690464 - "Disable spam functionality if mail server is not configured with a spam filter".
The "spam filter" configuration that is referred to is related to the following messaging server options:
service.feedback.spam: email address where to send spam reports.
service.feedback.notspam: email address where to send not-spam reports.
Configuring these options and restarting messaging server/app-server resulted in the spam icon showing up.
These options were added as part of RFE #6661563 - "Message should be sent to spam endpoint, when Junk, should allow Not Junk.". The idea is that when a user marks an email as spam/not-spam, a copy of the email is sent to a dedicated address and this way the user can provide feedback on the spam-filtering as per the following:
    https://datatracker.ietf.org/drafts/draft-shafranovich-feedback-report/
Unfortunately this feature hasn't yet been fully implemented (the reporting isn't yet occurring).
In my testing with Convergence(+ patch 1), I also found and logged the following:
bug #6749220 - "Spam/Junk folder should be auto-created if missing"
RFE #6749223 - "Site-wide and per-domain configuration option for Spam/Junk IMAP folder name."
RFE #6749225 - "Provide end-user configurable IMAP folder name for Spam/Junk email"
    Regards,
    Shane.

All messages are marked as spam, 5.7.1 ? how do I fix this, I can receive messages but cant send.

Oh with the rot that goes on with emails and spam filters these days almost anything can be considered spam. Mail addresses to your self can be all that is required for it to be spam on some systems, so test using your email address to check it is working must be done with an account not hosted bu the same provider, given the web site is not blacklisted.
I checked before replying, as brand new web sites are often blacklisted because they share a server or IP address range that is blacklisted (Poor neighborhood) or the server is run from a dynamic IP address and therefore considered to be a home computer with an infection.
One thing you can try is go to the account settings on the tools menu, open the settings pane by clicking on the account name and removing any reply to address. (some spam filters get all excited about reply to addresses. If that does not work I suggest you contact hostbox for a more detailed instruction on why your mail is considered "confirmed spam".
But please let us know how you get on.

  • Yahoo mail - mark as spam and folder creation?

Is there a way to mark mail in inbox as spam so yahoo knows to move these messages automatically to spam folder in the future? Since using my ipod to manage yahoo email, seems like more and more spam enters inbox because I can not mark mail as spam using iPod. And is it possible to create/delete folders for mail?

    - No, there is no way to mark as spam and et that back to Yahoo.
    - Yu can't create folders on the iPod.  If yu hav a Yahoo IMAP account, you can usually create folders usning web mail and they will appear on the iPod.  If you have the more common POP3 account then yu can't create folder that will appear on the iPod.

I will need a little more info to help. What email server are you sending the ePrint job from? What file types/ attachments are you sending?  Since it is failing on some level; make sure that when sending email to the printer that the Printer is the only recipient listed. If that is not done it will fail the job as spam. Make sure not to Cc anyone on the emails. Also, turn off your signature on the email if it is automatic and try the job again.

  • Legit Email Being Moved to User Junk Folder

I am not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this or not. So if this needs to be moved, would a moderator please move it.
What we have is a user is seeing certain email from the internet being placed into the user junk folder. The user uses the OWA not outlook. Our setup is exchange 2013 SP1 with a 2 member DAG. We do use Mcafee's Security for Exchange but when the headers
of the legit email are viewed, Mcafee's Security does NOT scan it AND Mcafee Security is NOT set to deliver SPAM to the user junk folder. We have the malware option of Exchange disabled. The scanned header part of the legit email says it uses spamassassin.

There aren't any rules on the exchange server. Does exchange do any form of spam scanning?
We do not have an edge server.

    Hi,
According to your posting, I noticed that there are two third-party value in the message header:
    X-Pidgin-SpamProbe: GOOD 0.0000010 9a9e88a5e77c0f07e773e841e70ec91b
    X-Pidgin-Spam-Flag: Clean
Generally, we can use the X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL value in message header to check whether the message is spam message in Exchange environment. I am not familiar with the X-Pidgin-Spam-Flag value which may be a value for a third-party spam filter.
For more information about SCL in Exchange server, please refer to:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995744(v=exchg.150).aspx
If the issue only happens to a specific user and specific messages which are send from specific senders, we can add these senders in a Safe Sender list in your Anti-Spam program to have a try.

  • Mark As Spam is Useless

I continously mark email as SPAM thinking that would send a clue to the IT folks at Verizon that certain emails are SPAM.
Alas!  Silly me!  I have read this forum and found out that I have to actually forward the SPAM emails to a separate email address so that Verison can update their filters.
Now let me see...EarthLink & GMail do not stuff my inbox with SPAM, but Verison does....ummm.  Maybe Verizon should purchase the same SPAM filters used by those 2 vendors and stop trying to reinvent the wheel.

We have some updated information about the spam dectector tool, from our email product manager:
What does SPAM DETECTOR tool do?
Your ability to communicate with family or friends can be hindered by unsolicited email or "spam".  If you have your SPAM Detector ON, it will sift and catch unsolicited emails sent to your email account and either present them in the SPAM Detector folder or delete them. (Note: You can adjust your SPAM Detector settings in the  Settings/Email Settings tab within Message Center.)
Furthermore, if there are emails you deem as SPAM, you can “Mark as SPAM” by selecting the email from your email inbox list view and select SPAM icon from top menu bar. It will put the email in your SPAM Detector folder and send an email to the VZ Abuse team and third party vendor to evaluate. If it is deemed SPAM, SPAM Detector definitions/rules will be updated.
Please note that  marking email as SPAM does not add the email to the Blocked Senders list. Furthermore, SPAMMERs rarely use the same email address more than once to send SPAM.
