Length of photos keeps changing

Hi,
I'm creating a slideshow and the length of the photos keeps changing. Whenever I go into "clip adjustments" to make a photo stay longer or shorter it automatically changes the length of another photo. Is there anyway to make this stop?? I want some photos to stay on the screen for longer and I don't think it's that difficult since the old iMovie could do it. Am I missing something?

The same thing happens to me all the time. So far I haven't found a way to make it stop, only a way to fix it.
The only fix I have found is to use the skimmer to check everything around the photo or transition I adjusted and put everything back the way I want it. - A painstaking process, I know. However, I found I had to do the same thing in iMovie '06, so I am used to it. In my slideshow movie projects I have varying transition times and image times so it is possible to do what you want to do, but it takes patience.
Some other reader may know I better way. I'll keep watching this post to see.

Why does the User Photo Keep Changing

I maintain two (2) users on my iMac. One personal and one business. I have separate Address Book cards for each user with different photos. For my business Address Book card, I only have my business name, phone number and address. For the personal Address Book card, I have all my email addresses, phone numbers and addresses, including both my business address and phone number.
Since I've updated to Mac OS X 10.7.2, I noticed my user photo for my business user continues to default back to the photo used for my personal Address Book card. I've changed the photos for the business user and for the business Address Book card several times but it continues to default to the photo used in my personal Address Book card.
And just one more thing, how do I remove the Recent Pictures for a user?

Definitely an iCloud issue, I had this problem too but the Address Book fix mentioned elsewhere didn't work.
In the end, I was updating some contacts on my iPhone whilst my Mac was booted into Windows (so only one device active on iCloud) and noticed the rogue bad image was in my own contact on there too, so I set a random photo as my pic in my phone's Contacts and next time I rebooted OSX, lo and behold there it is on my login screen. So I guess every time it was coming back, it was picking it up from iCloud. Bizarre.
Going by that, I would expect the answer would be log everything out except one device (in my case, an iPhone), update that one, log the rest back in and hopefully it'll pick up the new image from the cloud.
Here's to hoping I'm not now stuck as an accidental screenshot of some random text message

Order of photos keeps changing

I purchased iPhoto 11 version 9.2.1 from the app store and since then I can spend hours manualy organising my photo's and then sink and its fine but as soon as I quit the app, the next time I open it they are all over the place again.
Its set to manualy organise.
Its very anoying as the next time I sync it changes the order again in my iPhone
Whats the point of having my pics on my phone or on my Mac if they are not in the order I want them in.
I wish I have never purchased it.

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

Duration of clips keeps changing

I'm making a graduation movie and the duration of the photos keeps changing. I've set the duration through inspector and hit "Done". I work on the project for a little while and then the durations I've set change. How do I keep them from changing?

Placing certain transitions in your project can change it's total duration.
To mitigate that, after you place a transition, select it and click the little gear icon below. Choose Transition Adjustment then adjust the Overlap to Maintain Project Duration.

How do I stop my original image from changing after I save the edited version in Camera Raw 7. I want to be able to keep the original intact and
also have the edited version. Also, if I want to work the new edited version in the future I would want to also keep that old version.

Why does my user icon keep changing?

Hi all,
It's not the end of the world but annoying just the same - I set my user icon to one of the standard Lion icons when I first set up my new MacBook Air and later changed it via System Preferences to a different photo that I've stored on my hard drive. Or at least, I thought I changed it.
Lion keeps changing the user icon back to the default one that I set when I first set up my MB Air.
Has anyone else run into this issue? And does anyone know of a solution for this?
I can obviously live with this if I have to, but it sure it annoying!

I messed about with this for an hour today - trying all the ways that were suggested in these and other forums to no avail. it kept switching back to my original photo or nothing at all the moment I saved. FINALLY - I figured it out. I duplicated and cropped a picture within iPhoto and named it with my own face. Then I DRAGGED it instead of CHOOSING it to the contact card - and voila! Finally it stuck!
Such a trivial little thing but I was so tired of the "trial" photo I had posted when I first bought my computer. Good luck!

Want to replace video with photos keeping the audio

Welcome to discussions!
This is a relatively easy procedure-it's just more difficult to explain than do..;)
First-let me ask you a few things:
Are you using audio that was imported on the original video (recorded on the Dv tape)? If it is, you will need to extract the audio.
Are you importing audio from another source-like iTunes?
You will need to know the length of the video you are deleting and make sure the photos are the exact length if you are wanting exact replacement and audio sync.
In other words, if you already have the audio where you want it and just want to replace a small clip of video with the photo, you will have to replace the deleted video with the same length photo...and remember-transitions will affect the lengths as well.
Know you're saying "...what?" about now. Post again if I have lost you .

You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

There is a serious issue raised in the parallel thread, which is critical for many people: "Status keeps changing from invisible to online" (initiated on ‎16-11-2014 by b.agne, Mac section). In short, when starting using a device, the Skype status changing from "invisible" to "online" - sometimes just for a moment, though enough for others to notice you. These affects very much any type of devices. I am sure the issue has already led to multiple personal crisises and potentially financial losses due to buseness partnership issues (I came close to that myself, and now use anything but Skype for business). Hi, I also have the same issue. I change the status to Invisible and a later on it is already as "Online", without having even touched/opened Skype. The only way that I see this may happen is that I have the app installed on the smartphone, but before it never had this issue, but from some month ago it started. Any correction or suggestion to work around this issue? Regards

I would restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod on your computer and start over. It appears the iPod is associated with another account. Any media that came with the iPod does not belong to you and di not transfer with the iPod hardware.

After upgrading to 10.8.3 my display keeps changing to 800x600 after it wakes up from sleep. I have to go to preferences and set again, and it works. It is quite annoying. Any clue.

Have you tried resetting the > NVRAM and PRAM

No, an external drive will not always be mounted. If the drive goes to sleep, it can unmount, or it may unmount for other reasons. As Chris said, confim that the drive is mounted and active before launching iTunes.

Calendar colors keeping changing to purple

one specific calendar keeps changing by itself to purple. even when i change it back to the color i want, it goes directly back to purple. this happens on my ipad and when accessing icloud on my mac book

It seems that my green work calendar is now purple as well.
In the past work was a light green and personal was a slightly different shade of green. Now it is purple, not my favorite color but it is distinct. It would be nice to pick you own colors
I am an ical user, rarely do I sign in using icloud via the net however this is how all my devices are linked
This happened a while back and then reverted, if Apple would just have some notices of this at least we would know there is nothing wrong. I am getting concerned that my data is not safe !
