Lenov Flex 2-15D Ersatzteile

Nabend zusammen,
ich habe heute ein Lenovo Flex 2-15D (Modell NR.: 20377) von einem bekannten bekommen. (5 Monate alt)
Das Teil ist ansich der Hammer. Muss man ja mal sagen.
Mfg A.Wenig

  • Boot Fail after latest BIOS Update on Flex 2-15D

    Hi everyone,
I have a severe problem (I guess) after the latest BIOS Update. Windows 7 freezes during startup.
I own a 64-bit Lenovo FLex 2 15D with AMD A6-6310 and R4, 4GB RAM and a SSHD (8GBSSH). I purchased it without OS and installed Windows 7 - which worked fine so far.
I yesterday updated the BIOS with version 9FCN23WW (for Win7 and Win8), the latest BIOS update. A mistake, it seems.
After Reboot, I first had to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS, because it would not let me boot at all. I figured out how to get into the BIOS-Setup to disable this (press Enter 2x, press Tab when in the Boot Menu to access the "Apps Menu", then "SETUP" - just in case this helps someone).
Now Win7 begins to start up, but freezes during the startup process (the splash screen with the win flag freezes and looks a bit strange. I used the "protected mode" Windows Startup and saw that the process always hangs when loading "amdkmpfd.sys".
That is basically it.I guess I have to find a way to re-install the previous version of the BIOS, but I have no idea how!
    Any idea?!
Now about what I did to fix this (poor, but I tried):
If I try to start from a Win7 installation CD-ROM (actually it is one for Dell PCs, but I guess that is not the problem) and press a key to boot from CD, Windows loads files, shows "Starting Windows"  and at a certain point again just freezes. When I -do not- press a key, WIndows Boot Manager shows up and mentions that "Windows failed to start (etc.)" "File: \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD" "An Error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data."
I can't even boot into Linux on a USB stick, because the Windows "Error Recovery" (translated from German, sorry - my guess) won't let me when I try (just offers to boot to Win7 in protected mode - it could be that it fails immediately and jumps back to Win Startup).
Thank you for every bit of help!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I found our the solution to my problem with the help of SebastianLenovo ...
In the BIOS / Boot Mode, I switched back from "UEFI" to "Legacy". That's it. That simple. The BIOS Upgrade routine just did not transfer that setting from the old BIOS to the new.
Given the fact that 1. I did not change that setting, so it is default and 2. it would have been easy to avoid, if the BIOS update routine would be well programmed to transfer the current BIOS settings to the new, upgraded BIOS ...
Anyway a strange situation that a 64-bit system has a 32-bit BIOS. Actually no Linux distribution (except FatDog and rescue systems) are able to deal with it - Linux only running as a Virtual Machine under Windows. I think this is inappropriate and really taking away a part of the fun if you can not run this laptop as a dual boot system.
Thanks to Sebastian and I hope this solution helps someone in the future...
    Regards, Tristam.

Good day and welcome to the community.
    Acoording to this document:

I don't believe that the Flex laptops are supported in Update Retriever. It's principally a Think system tool.

  • Lenovo flex 2-15D Miracast

I am trying to connect to a wireless HDMI adapter.  According to Microsoft I should be able to go to devices and then project and then choose wireless adapter.  I am up to date on windows 8.1
Does lenovo flex 2-15D Miracast support miracast?

    hi Pathfinder87,
It's a bit early to tell if the wireless card is malfunctioning (unless this has been an ongoing issue out of the box).
    Things that you can try:
    1. Uninstall and delete the wireless card driver from the Device Manager and in the Control Panel (icon views) > Programs and Features and reboot the machine. When finished, install the stock driver from the D:\Drivers\WLAN folder or try this driver from Intel:
    File name: Wireless_17.16.0_De64.exe
    Version: 17.16.0 (Latest)
    Date: 04/20/2015
    Size: 24.73 MB
    Language: English
    Operating Systems: Windows 8, 64-bit*
    2. Follow this "This device cannot start" Code 10 error in Device Manager in Windows fix (see Manually fix corrupted registry entries).
    3. Try booting in Safe Mode with Networking and see if the problem persist. If wireless card works fine in Safe Mode, consider doing a clean boot and observe the functionality in normal mode.
    3. If you got this problem recently (e.g., after a Windows Update) then you may need to consider rolling back the machine
How to Do a System Restore in Windows 8 and 8.1
    4. If doing a System Restore doesn't work, consider restoring the machien to factory settings by pressing the Onekey Recovery (Novo) button )note that any data on the system partition will be wiped).

  • Lenovo Flex 2-15D -- Loose Compartment

    Hello,
I recently purchased a Lenovo Flex 2-15D. Coming right out of the package, I tried out the 300-degree "tablet" stand feature, but when reverting it back to laptop mode, a compartment becomes loose and pops open on the right end. This happens every time I revert it back to laptop mode from tablet mode -- seemingly when particularly gripping the left side of the keyboard when flipping. I have attached an image to demonstrate this happening.
It snaps back into place, but it continues to happen. I briefly checked this forum to see if any other posts were made about this issue, but couldn't find any. Is this simply a manufacturing defect, or is this a common flaw with the Lenovo Flex 2? Is the simple solution here to just get the laptop replaced?
    Thank you.

    hi frustrated09,
    Welcome to the Forums.
Depending on the part / area where the missing screws are, yes, the M2.5 (4mm, 4.5mm) and M2 (6mm) will work on the Flex 2-15 as they're listed on the hardware maintenance manual.

  • Linux installieren auf dem Flex 2 15D - funktioniert nicht

    Hi,
    Tristam.

  • Lenova Flex 2-14 Mouse Touch Pad Problem

I've just recently bought my son a Flex 2-14 which he thinks is great. However today the mouse pad stopped working which has put a downer on a new and smart laptop. As I'm a windows and laptop user myself, I've checked the driver, ensured that it's enabled, checked to ensure that it's the latest version, made sure that it's toggled on from a keyboard perspective. However it refuses to recognise any physical interaction. As the screen is touch sensitvie and the USB mouse is working fine we can get away with this. But really why is it not working? The only thing I can guess is that as you turn the screen and keyboard around to into touch screen mode the hardware recognises this and disables the mouse pad. It looks to me that it's now stuck in this mode which is really frustrating. It;s getting to the point that I might aswell take it back as it's not fit for purpose.
Any help would be very much appreciated as anything I try to do does not solve the problem?

    Hi, ghstahl
I would try uninstalling the current driver by going to Device Manager and opening up Mice and other pointing devices. Next, right-click on the device and select Properties. A window should appear. Navigate to the Driver tab and select Uninstall... from the bottom. Once this driver is uninstalled, go here and download the latest driver. This driver is the base Synaptics driver. Synaptics is the company that develops the UltraNav software that is currently on your machine, most likely. This driver has helped users before having TouchPad issues, so it may be able to do the same for you.
    Hope it helps,
    Adam

  • Ideapad flex 15D, Need a new bios ASAP!

I just got my computer recently and The other night I tossed in disk to load up old software only to remember it had a rootkit on it, I was able to get a system restore done its really old and the RK posses no threat really. But the bios is still some creepy old half working half grey mess. I tried to find a Download for my computer for one of those .exe flashers but could not find one. Is their any out their for a similar computer that would work for me?

Come on Lenovo!  Release a BIOS update!
Many people are having this issue, myself included.  I have an AMD A4-5000 processor.
The Flex 2 15D had the same problem and you released a BIOS update for it.  Release one for the Flex 15D.
    Thank you.

  • No F11- how can I recover factory image?

Hello, I am new to this forum. I am trying to fix a friend's laptop. His disk drive crashed and I had to install a new HDD.
Laptop is Flex 2-15D with UEFI and GPT disk format, Windows 8.1.
I managed to copy over the following partitions to the new HDD:  WINRE_DRV    SYSTEM_DRV(active)    LRS_ESP    LENOVO (drivers?) and PBR_DRV (recovery partition).  I am missing the local_C drive and an undefined partition that was 128mb.
I believe I have the necessary partitions to do a factory recovery. I have no OS, of course, because I am missing the local_C drive that contained windows 8.1
When I power on, I get  messages to allow entering the BIOS(UEFI) or to enter the boot menu to boot from CD, USB, HDD, etc. However, there is no F11 option to do a factory reset.
Can anyone help me recover the F11 function? I would think that if I could fix the boot manager, I could do a factory restore.
    UPDATE
Whoa,  I just found the NOVO button. It listed system restore as an option. When I selected it, it started loading windows and I thought it was going to be all good. Then I got a message saying onekey recovery partition was damaged..
    Any suggesteions?

    Hello zzmxj5,
Got your pm. I can't guarantee that this will work but you can give it a try. Just in case, try to make a backup of the recovered partitions just in case what follows will not be successful.
Rather than troubleshooting what you have accomplished so far I proposed that you make the pendrive project that I have given in this link (A DIY PROJECT: Creating a bootable OKR 8 Recovery USB Flash Drive (Rev 1.1)).
Instead of 16 GB use 32 GB flash drive. Here is the part that you need to modify: Refer to step V while copying the files as instructed in the indicated folders try to just supply what are missing, do not overwrite what's already in them. The reason is that the Evozi program already made the NOVO initiated OKR program operational. After making the pendrive, boot from it with the replacement drive connected.
    That's it.
I hope this will help you and good luck!

  • IdeaPad Flex 15D no virtualization option in BIOS 94CN07WW (AMD APU A6-5200)

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 15D (AMD APU A6-5200) does not have virtualization option in BIOS version 94CN07WW. What this means is if one wants to run for example Virtualbox, then one would only be able to vitualize a 32-bit operating system, instead of either a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. However, a similar model Lenovo IdeaPad S415 Touch (AMD APU A6-5200) does have the SVM option in the BIOS to enable or disable virtualizing 64-bit operating systems. December 22, 2014 8:00AM CSTWhen I  called Lenovo technical support, I initially spoke with someone who sounded as if they were from the Philippines, which is fine if they are knowledgable, and their english is fluent. Unfortunately, when I explained the technical situation, he had no idea what I was talking about. After he checked with in Level 2 quite few times, he said that the motherboard doesn't support virtualization... So, I advised him that I've been in the IT industry for 10 years, and while admittedly I don't know everything about virtualization, I have some level of knowledge on the subject having worked in all positions from Level 1 Technical Support to Systems Engineer. Hence, I proceeded to explain how virtualization is a dependency of the CPU, not the motherboard. One would of course need to have a motherboard that is compatible with the CPU in order for the computer to work at all. However, one may buy a CPU without virtualization extensions and plug it into a motherboard, or one may buy the same CPU with virtualization extensions and plug it into this same motherboard. As well, I invited him to look at Intel or AMD's website for further information on this while we were on the phone so I could help clear up any questions he had on the matter. While he didn't appear to review either website, he checked in with Level 2 again, and suggested we check forums to see if a work around exists. I quickly explained there is no work around to this type of problem, and the resolution would be to put a request into engineering to have a BIOS update pushed out that allowed enabling/disabling SVM by default. After checking in with Level 2 once again, he said if it's not an option in the BIOS, then the computer doesn't support it. I advised while this statement is something I already knew (not to mention painfully obvious at this point), it's not a technical limitation of the hardware, as the CPU supports it. The root cause is that toggling SVM enabled/disabled wasn't designed in the BIOS (i.e. this needs a BIOS update to come out to fix this problem). We briefly talked about a warranty event, how from my past experiences sometimes when one submits a laptop to a vendor and gets it returned, it comes with a BIOS version that is later than originally submitted, or one that is not available for download from the vendor website. However, he wasn't really for this idea, as I didn't have a hardware fault per-say, and I wasn't interested in insisting one a warranty event as it was frankly a low probability event to have this outcome, and it wasn't what I wanted out of the conversation anyway. So, after he checked in with Level 2 again, he said he can call me back after he investigated some more. I advised him that a call back is useless if he is the one calling me back as we already know the problem, resolution, and who would need to address it. After he began to stutter, and make incomplete sentences that made no sense, he put me on hold to check in with Level 2 again (yes he checked in with them this many times). When he came back he claimed I said earlier in the conversation that the option to enable it was available so I should just go ahead and do that. Given that this guy frankly didn't know what I was talking about to begin wtih, and now is telling me something that never even happened in the conversation, I pretty much had enough of the lack of knowledge, and customer service I was receiving, so I asked to speak to either a supervisor or the next level of support. Thankfully he transferred me to his supervisor, who sounded like he wasn't from an outsourced call center, as when I explained the situation he understood me the first time, and spoke clear and articulate english. After a very brief discussion about what he was reading from Lenovo forums and a BBB complaint similar to my inquiry, we came to the conclusion that it would need to be a customer courtesy request to the engineering department to request the SVM option become available via a BIOS update. So, with my case number in hand, I said despite him not being able to promise me the outcome I desired, he at least got the issue in front of the right people, which I appreciated. Long story short, it would be just simply really awesome if Lenovo could push out a Happy Holidays BIOS update that would allow me to enable SVM on my IdeaPad Flex 15D.  Thanks for reading.

I came across this issue a while back also. However, with the quickly-approaching release of Windows 10, there's another problem that I consider far more important (it is also related to the BIOS, go figure). There is no way to enable/disable Execute Disable Bit in the BIOS. Due to this, I have been unable to upgrade to the Windows 10 Insider Preview, and I fear that this will be the same case with the final release. This issue apparently affects lots of others as well. It is interesting to note that the Flex 15D drivers page no longer says that a BIOS update is not available for the laptop... It doesn't give any info about the BIOS. Get with it, Lenovo!

  • Flex 15D errored within an hour of purchase with winload.efi

I unboxed my new Flex 15D an hour ago, very pleased with it, until it rebooted to install windows 8.1 updates.
When it rebooted I ended up at a blue screen saying that the file \windows\system32\winload.efi is missing.
Enter just loops back to the error, F8 flashes the screen and takes me back to the error.
    Can anyone help?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I would do a few things.
    1. Go into the bios and enable legacy mode + disable safe boot
    2. If that fails, use a windows 8.1 DVD image to "repair startup" (part of the advance options, before installation proceeds).
    3. If that fails, then use the OKR system and try to update to Windows 8.1 again, before you load your personal files/programs. Since you got 1 hour run-time on it, I doubt you have much on the laptop. Hence, this might be your best and quickest option.
    4. Or you can wait for a Lenovo Support Specialist to respond. lmao ,,,, They might have something better than the above lol.

  • Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 15D In Serious Need of Backlit Keyboard

Does anybody know is Lenovo Plan to bring out an updated keyboard for the Lenovo Flex 15D or Flex Series Ultrabooks?
I have had mine now for 2 Weeks and am extremely hapy with its well built construction and its performance however it is missing a crucial peice of technology. A Backlit Keyboard.
As Good as the keyboard is and my eyesight for that matter. This machine would seriously benifit from a Back Lit Keyboard.

  • Flex 15D Help reinstalling - Boot from USB

    I'm hoping someone can help.
I have a Flex 15D (no optical drive) shipped with Windows 8.1
At present it is completely unresponsive, taking anything up to 5 minutes to recognise that I have clicked anything, open the task manager, etc.  The task manager doesn't show anything heavy running, AV has scanned the PC and there are no infections. so I decided to go back to scratch and restart.
OneKey simply tell me that the recovery partition has become corrupted and can't be used.
I then bought a copy of Windows 8.1 from Microsoft, followed their instructions to create a bootable USB key and get windows 8.1 set up from the DVD onto it, but the Lenovo won't boot from USB.  I have been in the BIOS, boot from USB is set, but the boot options give me the OS booter only.
Third attempt i went out and bought a USB DVD drive, connected that and tried to install a brand new Windows 8.1, but again the Lenovo won't acknowledge that there is a DVD drive attached (although it sees and uses it perfectly when it does finally boot into windows).
Can anyone give me any help as to how I could reinstall the laptop?
    Thanks

Looks like you'll have to remove the hard drive, put it in a usb caddy and use another computer to get your data.

  • Lenovo Ideapad flex 15d computer power issues

My Ideapad Flex recently developed two issues.
Problem 1: When the computer goes to sleep (via start menu, closing the lid, or being inactive) the hardware turns off completely. In Windows 8.1's event viewer there are two errors that state that power failed unexpectedly.
This has occured with the power adapter connected, and without. It also occured for Ubuntu 14.04.
Problem 2: The computer (when powered down) only occasionally responds to the power button, and fails to boot when it does. I have found a temporary workaround - resetting the BIOS - however that only works one time per reset.

I just purchased a flex 15D a noticed that upon start up, there's lighting behind the keyboard, and (being new to PC laptops) it took me two nights to figure out that the only way to turn it on is Fn+space.
