Lenovo 8258J4U desktop

I have a Lenovo 8258J4U desktop. It currently has a AMD sempron 3000+ socket 754 CPU and a K8M800-M3 motherboard. I would like to upgrade the CPU to an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 512KB socket 754 CPU.
Are there any special dip switches settings I need to know before I can upgrade the CPU?

On the dvd drive's faceplate, can you check if there's a small pinhole where you can force eject the disc tray by inserting a paperclip into it (see image below):

Lenovo H535 Desktop Win 8.1 USB 3.0 Disconnecting Issue

OK. I just bought this Lenovo H535 desktop in early September and this OS has been driving me CRAZY. After spending well over a month and performing maybe 7 clean installations, I'm trying to get this stupid & worthless operating system to work correctly, I'm left with one issue(that I know of) I cannot resolve.
Now that I've upgraded Win 8.1 core (clean install from RTM iso), my USB 3.0 external Fantom Greendrive is disconnecting on it's own. In Windows 8, it stays connected FOR EVER, but in Windows 8.1, I'm having issues. Of course the drive is plugged into the back of the PC and I've tried each of the USB 3.0 ports. One thing I can tell you is, this USB 3.0 device disconnects at the same exact time each time..... NOT RANDOMLY. Disconnects that the same time provided I don't change any of the PC's hardware settings. And I'm now troubleshooting this isse on a freshly installed system:
Normally the Fantom HD disconnects in 7 min 15 sec. I have tried:
Disabling the USB Selective Suspend in the Power Options - Doesn't work. USB 3.0 disconnects in 7 min 15 sec.
Also disabled the HD from sleeping also in the same panel.- Doesn't work. USB 3.0 disconnects in 7 min 15 sec..
Regardless of what I'm doing on the computer in the background, it always disconnects at the same exact time.
Tried disabling the Power service all together(no power options.) - USB 3.0 disconnects in 22 min 45 sec.
I turn Power Service back on and disabled about 10 uneeded services - USB 3.0 disconnects in 7 min 15 sec..
OK, after installing ANOTHER fresh install of Win 8.1, and installing the Windows Updates, BUT this time I have installed ALL updated device drivers from the Lenovo support site for Win 8.1 Even though most devices were running ok with MS generic drivers. I thought that the installation of a new Chipset Driver and USB Filter Driver would fix the issue. Nope. I GET THE SAME DARN DISCONNECTING.
Conclusion. In Windows 8 Core, the USB 3.0 external Fantom HD stays connected for EVER but in Win 8.1 core- it's disconnecting. That leads me to believe that Windows 8.1 core has some bugs. With my limited experience, it seems that there is NOT physical power shortage. but a Windows 8.1 bug. (works good in windows 8) Another thing that may be related is with Win 8.1, the PC will not go to sleep. Sleeping issues is defitely a bug
Everyone on most sites I've read said to install the chipset drivers and it will work fine. Well, with me, everything is the exception.
Can the Fantom HD disonnecting on it's own all the time, corrupt anything on it?
Does anyone have any resolve or any additional info on this???? I really would appreciate it. I kind of like Win 8.1 better than 8 because it's the lesser of 2 evils. Oh, I'm glad to a member in the forum

Hello again. I found the solution!! Simplly clean installing Windows 7pro and getting rid of Windows 8 did the trick. the USB 3.0 hard drive stays connected as long as I like. The 3.0 speeds are great also. It's a shame I bought Windows 8 on a pre-installed system, but I'm never gonna use it. I like the fact that Lenovo provided the Windows 7 Drivers on the support website for my H535 which gave me the opportunity to install OEM and AMD drivers as opposed to microsoft generic drivers.
Now I need to find a product key. I don't know where to look or if any product key work work. Would buying a Retail box work? Seems like overkill just for a key. Can I buy a downloadable product product key for a cheaper price? Thanks
To add: I found out that the Windows 7 pro x64 retail boxes (DVD, COA, KEY) are about $130-$140. I don't think I want to buy a key without the COA which is proof that your key is authentic.

HELP: Lenovo K450 Desktop Wireless LAN Problems?

I recently bought a lenovo k450 desktop, first desktop i have bought, and ever had, ever since i've bought this desktop the Speed.net speeds are 1/2 of the speeds my laptop gives off. My Laptop gives a 54.0 Mbps Speed LAN connection, and my new desktop is giving off 36.0 Mbps , my friend has the same computer, and gets 48.0 Mbps , My desktop is a normal 3.00 Download, and always the same upload on both, 5.80 , my laptop is a normal 6.00-7.00ish download mostly, so if anyone knows how i can fix this i would greatly appreciate that. http://gyazo.com/845451ab21c05605e942081388eb9952 Heres a picture of my current LAN Speed

I did all the mentioned steps and first it seems that the WLan was working.
It wasn´t as fast as expected, but I could surf in the internet.
After another restart OSX asked me for the password of my router and then I got the old problems: Very very very very slow connection, broken connections and finnaly no connection via WLan.
Do you - or anyone else - have another idea what I can do to fix this f.... problem?

Lenovo H420 Desktop takes over 5 mins to boot up

Hi,
We have a Lenovo H420 desktop that takes over 3 mins to boot up. After you switch it on, the monitor displays a black screen with 'Lenovo' in white writing and remains with this screen for minutes on end seemingly doing nothing (hard drive cannot be heard working and it's activity light doesn't flash). After about 3 minutes Windows 7 suddenly loads in a matter of seconds.
Any ideas what is wrong? Is this normal?
We've only had this computer for about 3 months and it has been doing it since we bought it. We reset the computer back to its factory settings but that hasn't changed anything. Bios doesn't seem to be accessible as no startup screen saying press del for setup etc shows.
Kaspersky and Malwarebytes doesn't show any nasties.

Lenovo K450 Desktop Wi-Fi toggle?

I recently bought a K450 desktop. How do I toggle Wi-Fi connectivity? I don't see any setting that allows me to turn off Wi-Fi.

Lenovo H515s desktop **** FALSE ADVERTISING ****

Purchased H515s desktop over a week ago, when opening box I noticed there was no wireless keyboard and mouse. I contacted Lenovo or should I say Digital River which deals with their sales to be told someone would call me back. I received no call up until monday so I called them again only to be told that this particular model does not come with wireless keyboard and mouse. I informed them yet again that this model was being advertised as including wireless keyboard and mouse. The lady said she had had this query before and would escalate the complaint and someone would contact me within forty eight hours. still no call so I called them only to be told they are still awaiting a response from Lenovo. Do I keep it as I have no faith in their customer service, do I return it and waste their money on delivery and return fees (it probably would be cheaper just to send me the items) or do I contact Trading Standards. Lets face it if they know about the false advertising of a product they are obviously not interested in customer care and would adjust their website or would someone please like to contact me from Lenovo.

Hmm. You were going by these pics from the website? Does the system have the patterned cover as shown in the photos, or is it just solid gloss black? The photo looks to me like it conveys some level of gloss. Was it more than you expected?
I see the hinges in the photo are silver? Perhaps they wound up being painted during production?
Would you say your biggest concern is the difference in touchpad or the cover & hinge appearance?

Aside from these visual differences, how does the system perform as a computer? How is the appearance of the display, the feel of the keyboard, and the overall operation?

HI!
I've got a Lenovo Desktop with K8m800-M3 Motherboard. I need the pinout of the two front USB connectors: they are 13 pins disposed in 3 lines ad below:

Lenovo H50 Desktop Help

Hi, I recently brought a desktop about 2 - 3 months ago and it was working fine no problems ( windows 8.1 ). Recently the computer has been reborting itself every few hours by it self . When the machine restarts, do you get a BSOD (sad face with writings on the screen) then the machine restarts by itself?
If yes, can you try to press the Windows key‌ +X, then select System. On the System Properties, follow this guide on how to Disable automatic restart upon system failure and observe. If you get a BSOD, try to read it using WhoCrashed and post the results here.
If the machine just restarts without any BSOD's, try the following:
1. Press the Windows key‌ +R, type eventvwr and press Enter. On the Event Viewer, navigate to Custom Views > Administrative Events and check if there's any relevant errors when the unit restarts.

2. Perform a clean boot (this will eliminate any apps. running on the background that might be causing the sudden restart).
3. Run Windows Update to get the latest patch and bug fixes for the OS.

Upgrading a Lenovo H50 Desktop

I tried to upgrade the PSU and failed because the PSU i brought was too large for the case.Can someone tell me what PSU I can buy that will fit and work with this system. The PSU I tried already was a Corsaix CX430. Also I was planning on upgrading the graphics card to a GTX 750Ti. Will this be compatible?

Lenovo G580 boot menu is not working when pressing F2 and F12 key

QuestionI bought a new Lenovo G580 series laptop. After installation of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 bit edition, a problem revealed when Lenovo driver get installed.
When I installed Intel HD 3000 graphics driver and restarted laptop, the Window was unable to start normally. It displayed an error, so a recovery program started which was recommended. But this program failed to resolve the problem. Later, I tried again to load Windows normally but the blue screen fatal error showed up.
I attempted to reinstall Windows again, but after restarting window, the boot menu was not showing up after pressing F12 key. F2 key was also not working either.
I spoke to a Lenovo techincal assistance expert and they suggested me to remove battery and charger and press start key for 30 seconds.
My problem still remains the same, and I am unable to access boot menu.
The bios version is 62cn34ww. ls there a way I can get this running again?
AnswerPlease take note that the suggestion below is just a troubleshooting guide. If the steps could not fix the issue, you need to send you machine in for service for further assistance.
Try removing the hard disk , then press F2 button to enter BIOS
If you are successful in entering the bios, pleaes load set up defaults
Save setting by pressing F10 and shut the machine down
Connect the hard drive back and check if can enter BIOS via F2 and F12 to see boot menu

"OK, I will retain my sanity.... changed & of course forgot windows 7 password on my Lenovo H430 desktop. (about a month ago) came accross my windows disc & was going to see if I could boot from it (wouldn't from the pasword unlocker i downloaded) Anyhow, i evidently have a password to enter bois setup which i attempted to "guess" baaad idea. i am now looking at Fatal Error.....System halted on my Lenovo H430 desktop. how do i proceed without doing any damage??? How to create recovery disks for Lenovo H530s with WIndows 8.1

I like to create recovery disks, but the already installed program OneKey Recovery does not have the option of recovery disks, it allows only larger media such as USB stick and hard disks.
Here to I have 2 questions:
1. Is there a way to create a recovery disks that will create the original factory settings with 5 partitions?
2. Does any one knows if the recovery siskd sold by Lenovo (for Netherlands they cost between 23 and 38 Euro) would do the job by creating the factory settings with 5 partitions?
My goal is to reformat the hard disk and aprtitionig it the way I need it, but in case of anything, I would like to be able to go back to the original facttory state of the unit, especially if I have a harddisk failure and neer to replace the hard didks.

Which Wireless Card? Lenovo A26

Hi I am trying to buy a wireless card for my lenovo thinkcentre desktop MT-M 9120-A26 which product should I buy?

Quality USB WiFi adapter should be ok and is most handy. Like D-Link etc. You could also use PCIe WiFi card, but then it will be inbuilt in computer and depending on placement of PC can be good or not so good solution ...

EMET 5.1 crashes all protected applications on Lenovo m91p PCs with enabled VT and TxT

Until last week we successfully used EMET 5.0 on all our PCs.
After upgrading to EMET 5.1 all EMET-protected applications crash
on all our Lenovo m91p PCs when VT-d and TxT is enabled.
The protected applications do not start at all, no balloon-tip or errordialog is shown, only Eventlog shows what happened:

Some facts we figured out:
Tested (crashing) applications for example: Internet Explorer 11, Word 2010, Excel 2010, Firefox 31 ESR, ...
OS is Windows 7 x64 SP1 Enterprise
It doesn't matter if it was an upgrade from EMET 5.0 to EMET 5.1 or reinstalling the PC and doing a fresh install of EMET 5.1 on a fresh machine.
Before Installing EMET 5.1 we used EMET 5.0 on the identically configured Machines (VT + TxT enabled) and there was no problem at all - the Problem is caused by EMET 5.1 and wasn't there with EMET 5.0
Problem disappears if we disable VT in the BIOS of the Lenovo m91p Machines, but this is not a Solution as we depend on using VT for virtualization-purposes.
Lenovo m91p PCs are equipped with: Intel Core i5-2400CPU, 8GB RAM, Onboard-SandyBridge Intel HD Graphics 2000, Mainboard: Lenovo IS6XM Rev.01, Intel Sandy Bridge rev.09, Intel Q67 rev. B3
Other Dell-Notebooks we use (EMET configured identically) don't show this problem, even if VT and TXT is enabled.
Basically we use the EMET Configuration "Popular Software.xml" which is included in the EMET 5.1 MSI Package, additionally we configure
DEP=ApplicationOptOut ASLR=ApplicationOptIn SEHOP=ApplicationOptOut Pinning=Enabled
and enable AdvancedRopSettings DeepHooks=True AntiDetours=True BannedFunctions=True
Additional Information:
TxT (Trusted Execution Technology) is a sub-feature of VT-d in the Bios of the Lenovo m91p PCs, when disabling VT it also disables TxT. We just figured out that we can leave VT turned on but have to disable TxT to get the machines with EMET 5.1 working
again. BUT: It's not an easy solution for us to disable TxT in BIOS on all machines. And as everything worked fine with EMET 5.0 we really think this problem should be solved by an EMET Patch.

I'm also experiencing the same issue as the OP, however I'm experiencing this on Lenovo M90p desktops with Windows 7 professional. I was previously running EMET 4.1 and upgraded to 5.1 recently. I cannot reproduce this on a Lenovo M92p with Windows
8.1 Enterprise, nor a Lenovo X1 Carbon with Windows 7 enterprise.

The zoom function is not working with lenovo A700 computer

I have a lenovo A700 desktop computer with a touch screen interface. I recently downloaded the newest version of Firefox (4.0.1) and now the touch screen zoom in/out function with webpages is not working. This function is working with IE8 on the same computer so there seems to be something wrong with Firefox. It was working with the previous version of Firefox as well. Please help, thanks.

Lenovo H415 Device Manager Conflict

I have a Lenovo H415 with an A6-3600 APU.
I had to do a fresh install of Win 7 after a crash
I have downloaded the latest catalyst drivers from AMD and installed them. I then went to Lenovo site to look for more drivers to resolve the only conflict I have left. SM BUS controller.
this driver support site at lenovo Drivers and software - Lenovo H415 Desktop revealed 3 chipsets for AMD.
I eliminated the first because it said USB 3.0 which I don't have.
I downloaded the other two and the 1.22 MB download is corrupted which left me with this one AMD Chipset Driver for Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - IdeaCentre K315,Lenovo H415
AMD Chipset Driver

That did not resolve my conflict so I went to catalyst site again and downloaded AMD Driver autodetect and it said I have the latest driver installed.

I will say Lenovo, your support site is absolutely worthless. Your driver page has wrong drivers and confusing gibberish. I could not find the above driver on your H415 section.
especially frustrating is all the time I spent on the phone with Lenovo girl telling me SM Bus controller stood for USB port. UGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH
