LENOVO A 536 Microphone problem

hi,
a bought a few weeks an a536, andi notice that all recordings, (video and audio) has very poor audio quality. i mean that i hardly can hear anything i i take a video from let's say 1 meter from the talking subject. i try the to change the settings related with this on the phone, but nothing helped.
any help would be appreciated.
i also downloaded an mobiluncle tools, there is an option at engineering mode/harware testing/audio/normal mode, to change the mic. levels, but i can't sae the new values,, and the set button is not active
thanks
robert

I have the same problem on videos I'm recording using the camera.
Have you tried to record something using the headset?  I haven't done that yet but I was thinking of testing it when I got the chance.  There's a chance the headset mic would be used by the phone that way instead.

Hello,I have problem with microphone - when I make calls it is not working, the other side didn't hear me.If I turn on the phone speaker while calling the microphone works well and the other side hears me.Microphone as well works when I record sounds with the Sound Recorder program. Can anybody know what may be the problem and what to do...? Thanks in advance!

I had the exact same issue. The 'calendar' entry was absent in google account sync page. There was no possibility that either do with the calendar in any application.
The solution found here (Russian) . I observed the device using RootExplorer and found that the file /system/app/CalendarProvider.apk is missing. So i've got the CalendarProvider from link provided, and set the permissions to rw-r-r, and make soft reset of device. That's all.

  • B520 Built-in Microphone Problem

We recently got a B520 77452MU All In One.  It includes a built-in webcam & microphone, and since right out of the box the microphone has recorded horribly.  It has very high background noise, kind of like a whirring static-y fan, so high that one might say the talking is actually the "background" noise.  We've tried updating the drivers and adjusting the microphone settings in the sound section of the control panel.  After troubleshooting extensively with the warranty tech support, they said it wasn't a normal problem and had us ship it in to try replacing the microphone (the particular model # we bought was not available to order by the time we received ours - it took a month to ship - so the sales rep couldn't just exchange it). That did not resolve the poor recording quality, even though the repair slip said the webcam/mic unit was replaced and passed the test, so we're thinking this must really be a normal weakness of the system.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Has anyone figured out a solution?
We like the features of the computer otherwise, so we're thinking about just buying an external microphone, but it is very annoying to have an "all-in-one computer" mounted to our wall with accessories hanging off it because it isn't really "all-in-one".

I have more info on my own situation (with a USB connected head set.) Net: the Rosetta Stone suggestions seem to have worked. I've listed the steps they supplied for Windows 7. I made two changes from what I had been recently using, highlighted in red under "Editorial Comments" in steps 9 and 12. That combination seemed to stop the background noise (feedback from a device?) in my talking during voice recognition.
I realize this doesn't directly address the original post about "B520 Built-in Microphone Problem" since i wasn't doing the same thing. The original symptom, though, seemed to be related.
The suggested steps with a USB headset for voice recognition with my annotations:
    1. Plug your headset into an available USB-Port.
    2. Open the Start menu.
    3. Click on the Control Panel.
    start menu
    4. If you're viewing the Control Panel by Category, click Hardware and Sound and then Sound. If you're viewing by Large or Small icons, click Sound.
    open sound menu
    5. On the Playback tab, highlight your device by clicking on it. Your device may be listed as C-Media USB Audio Device, USB VoIP Device or Other USB Device. (Editorial comment: my only USB choice was "USB VoIP Device", which was what I was already using.)
    6. Click the Set Default button. If there's a green checkmark next to your preferred device, it's already set as the Default Device.
    Set Default
    7. Click the Properties button.
    click properties button
    8. Click the Levels tab.
    9. Adjust the Speakers to 30.   (Editorial comment: mine had been set to 67.)
    10. Click OK.
    11. Click the Recording tab.
    12. Highlight your device by clicking on it. It should have the same name as the device that you selected in the Playback tab.  (Editorial comment:  my microphone highlighted had a different name, "Lenovo USB 2.0 Audio", though I had nothing else audio but my headset plugged into a USB connection. I  highlighted the "USB VoIP Device" name used in step 5.)
    13. Click the Set Default button. If there's a green checkmark next to your preferred device, it's already set as the Default Device.
    14. Click OK.

    Patternflyer,
I've very sorry to hear that this wound up being such an ordeal for you!
The way it is supposed to work, is that models sold through distribution (whether Best Buy, CDW, etc) have the 12 months plus a couple of months of "padding" added to make up for time spent in inventory in distribution.   Usually a customer will have at least 12 months of time that way.  The warranty starts from date of manufacture.
In some cases, it took more time to sell through than expected and the customer might have less than 12 months by the time they get it.  This can be reset, as you note, with a proof of purchase showing the type and serial number of the unit.
Custom configured systems ordered direct through Lenovo are shipped directly from manufacturing, and so the warranty starts then.
I agree with many of your points and we are working toward more chat services to be available, and also more integrations when you register your system.   With a direct sale, we know the customer, while in a retail scenario, we won't.   Ideally the registration process will update records.
I am also optimistic that we will have greater account integration in the not too distant future - where your account registered could have credentials connected with our support site, sales, the forum and other Lenovo properties.
    Best regards,

  • [solved] Microphone problem, possible unwanted stereo mix.

I'm user of integrated Integrated audio: Realtek HD Audio ALC 1200 (Mother board: ASUS P5Q)
Whenever i try to record something from my microphone input, i'll record everything that currently plays at the background (output is being captured with microphone input, no matter what).
The question is, how to disable this? If i lower capture volume, this stereo mixer volume goes down, too, but therefore it's impossible to record my own voice without yelling.
    I'm using Pulse Audio.
Is there anyone who is using same audio card and not having same problems?
I just hope i shouldn't blame my integrated audio card, but my hands.
Here is a screenshot of my alsamixer settings: http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/5885 … shotgy.jpg
EDIT: If you have same audio card and you do (or do not) have any microphone problems, please contact me.
TL;DR: stereo mixer is always on.
Solution: if you have 6 pins on motherboard, try to use orange/black instead of green for audio out (headphones). No idea what's the problem with green one.
    ^ works for me.

You say you are using pulseaudio. If I am not mistaken, the settings you change in alsamixer won't affect pulesauido (at least not in my case)
Have you installed and run pavucontrol to look at the "Input" Settings? This is the mixer for PulseAudio
After little discussion at alsa-project.org I believe my audio card is just "not really good" and this stereo mixer is possible to hear, if output volume is 66+ and capture 33++, i just switched to values above. (it's almost silent with those)
So I can now use microphone without heavy stereo mixing. But, need to find anyone else with same audio card experiencing same problems. If someone has the same audio card, and is (isn't) experiencing same problems please contact me.
Used pavucontrol to confirm volume settings.

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I have read your post on how the microphone on your notebook is enabled, but will not record any audio on Skype. I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
Are you able to record audio using a different program on your computer? Were you able to record audio from Skype in the past?
In the meantime, I recommend following the steps in this document on Resolving microphone problems (Windows 8). This should help enable the audio-in when using the microphone.
Additionally, I also suggest following this resource on Microphone Troubleshooter to ensure that your Skype software is communicating the audio being transmitted to your audio-in device.

  • Microphone problem

Hello. I recently bought my Xperia Z3 compact. Its a great phone..except the awful microphone problem. I bought it a week ago and 3 days ago I made the mistake to update to Android 5.1.1. Before that, I didnt have the problem.Anyway, the problem - when I hold my phone to my ear the other person doesn`t hear me, when I turn it to speaker they hear me perfectly. Sometimes it`s the other way around - speaker doesn`t work, the other person can hear me when I hold it close to my ear (this happens rarely).I tried the Internet fixes, none work. Maybe you can give me some solutions as I asked Sony to give me another Xperia and they told me that it has to go to them 3 times with the same issue.Cheers

I'm sorry to hear that, you could repair the phone with PCC, if that doesn't work then you will have to contact your local Xperia Care PC Companion (PCC)  Bridge (for Mac)   Alternatives on How to backup Xperias http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/36355  http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/

  • Microphone Problem SB XFI Xtreme Gamer

& I have a headset that has a microphone. When I plug in the mic, I can't record any sound. I see a red light coming from the port, which leads me to believe that it is set to digital out. How do I change this so it recognizes the analog microphone [email protected]

*Re: Microphone Problem SB XFI Xtreme GamerK Hi necrochaos,
I think this is the same problem I had for a while, which had me pulling my hair out until I found the annoyingly simple solution. Hopefully it'll work for you too.
In the Creative Console Launcher (this is in Game mode, guess it's different for the other two.), open the Mixer tab and then under the slider bar that has "REC"in red, click the little drop down arrow and select microphone. This is all I needed to do I think. Test it with Windows Sound Recorder.
Also in Settings (very bottom-center of the Creative Console Launcher)I noticed that there's a category called "Digital I/O" and under that Flexijack Mode with the option to select between Digital I/O and Mic/Line-In. It's greyed-out on mine but maybe that'll work for you? Hope that hel

Using an HP Split x2 over skype. A variable hissing noise occurs which reaches a point that it drowns out audio, then it will abate and then build back up again. It begins building during pauses in conversation and then begins to slowly diminish as we talk. Have tried moving the tablet to various locations to see if it is interference from other device. Does not sound like traditional feed back. Any suggestions on how to resolve this problem? Thanks!

Hello Pondering92. I understand you are experiencing microphone problems on Windows 8, when using Skype. Does this issue only occur on Skype, or on other programs? If it only occurs on Skype, try uninstalling and reinstalling the program.
If it occurs on multiple programs, and you followed all the troubleshooting in this HP document, you could be experiencing faulty hardware. Since the product is in warranty, I would contact HP technical support for servicing.

  • G570 Windows 7 microphone problems (choppy sound when recording)

    Good morning,
I have a nice Lenovo G570 with Windows 7 that has been running perfectly for quite a while.  I have some old audio tracks (multi-track recordings) that I have done using Audacity on an ancient Windows XP desktop.
I installed a new version of Audacity (64 bit) for Windows 7 from their website and it is fine.  It opened up, displayed, and played the old audio tracks without a problem.  It even allowed me to remix them as well.
My main problem is using the microphone and wanting to do some musical recordings and multi-track recordings on the Lenovo G570.  I plug a Shure microphone (using a 1/8" adapter) into the mic jack on the side of the G570 and start to record.  It works fine and allows me to record the first track (keyboards).  But yet when I go to record the second track, while listening to the 1st track (i.e. multi-track), the microphone input dies out, gets choppy, fades back in to normal level, fades back out, etc...
I ran a test on the microphone jack and the drivers (Conexant SmartAudio HD)...  I plugged my MP3 player into the mic jack using a stereo 1/8" cable and clicked "Listen to this device" and then clicked Apply.  One of my MP3 tunes started playing, but was so awful and so choppy, I instantly knew I had a problem.
I downloaded the latest Conexant SmartAudio HD driver from your website - - 8.54.4.51 and installed it and rebooted.  I still have the same problem with choppy audio when using the microphone for recording.
What gives?  I performed the same test on my wife's Dell laptop (as seen above with my MP3 player), and a Beatles tune came through beautifully.  You could hear Paul McCartney clearly singing, "Yesterday...  All my troubles seemed so far away..." and it was not choppy at all.  Then again, my wife's Dell laptop does not use Conexant SmartAudio HD for sound drivers.
Can you provide any help with this strange issue with using the microphone for recording so it won't come across all choppy?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thanks for the reply.  I got it worked out...  I contacted Audacity and went over and over everything them.  I downloaded and installed the latest audio drivers from Lenovo too (version 8.54.4.51).  On my Lenovo G570 with the Conexant SmartAudio HD package, I had to do into the "recording devices" section of the audio after selecting the microphone (either internal or external - if it's plugged in).  Then click on "Advanced" and go down to the checkboxes and uncheck:
Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device
    Give exclusive mode applications priority
    ...and finally...
    Enable audio enhancements
Click OK, exit out of it, close everything, reboot...
Sha-zam..  Audacity records perfectly fine without any problems, choppyness, cutting in/out, etc... and on all tracks, while other tracks are playing.

I'm not an owner of your model, but there should be options in the Audio Control Panel to adjust the microphone's volume and the microphone's boost.  Have you tried adjusting them ?

  • S10-2 external microphone problem

    Hello!
My problem is that I can't seem to make my external microphone work on my S10-2.  The microphone can be detected by my laptop (because a pop-up from the taskbar appears indicating this), but I don't know how to switch from the built-in mic to the external mic.  I've tried changing the default voice recording device in the Sounds and Audio Devices section of the Control Panel, but there is no other option other than the Realtek HD Audio Input.  I've also downloaded and installed the audio driver from the Lenovo website already.
How may I go about this issue?
    Thanks and God bless!
