Lenovo A536 is a terrible phone

I bought this dismal excuse for a smartphone about a month ago. And from day one it had problems. The first thing I noticed was that it had some problem connecting to my mobile data connection. Several trips to the place I bought it from, and we thought we had the problem solved because it had two SIMS from the same carrier. It seemed to work OK for a day and then nothing. It would not even connect to wireless networks. It has a problem where the WiFi icon just sits and blinks. Nothing you do short of restarting the phone will work to connect it to mobile or wireless networks. 
Eventually I started to look for apps and found one called Network Signal Speed Booster on Google Play. What it does is shuts down the network card and then restarts it. I have to do this EVERY SINGLE TIME I WANT TO CONNECT TO A MOBILE DATA OR WIRELESS CONNECTION! It does work and it does allow me to get online when I need to to get emails, check messages, etc. Without this application.....forget it. The network card in the phone is junk and doesn't know what to do once its connected to a network and loses the connection. The phone is not 'smart' at all. 
Besides this HUGE problem, I use my phone to listen to music. Had I know how terrible this thing is on sound output, I would have just spent a little more money. The volume level of this phone is pathetic. I have tried several sets of expensive headphones to see if that is the problem. Nope. The volume levels are so low, you will be lucky to listen to music anywhere where there is some outside noise...like being on the metro. But that is not all ladies and gentlemen. The external speaker is nothing but the saddest joke in all the history of tiny speakers. On a phone like this they could have at least put a decent little speaker on it. My little Huawei U8651-T that is over 3 years old puts out 50% more sound output in the headphones, and it's tiny little speaker is amazing compared to this Lenovo junk. 
Oh and if you decide you want to buy this phone, better buy some headphones. The ones that Lenovo give you with the phone are only worth throwing in the trash. They spent no more than .50 cents USD to have these made for them. They are THAT bad and I swear you could get these same headphones with a stick of bubble gum. 
Now, I would like to take this phone back to where I bought it from, but after a month of problems and wasted time and gas to Foxtrot where it was purchased, the only thing they will do now is send it to a service center where they say that there is nothing they can do. 
Lenovo....you should be totally ashamed of yourselves for building such a crappy phone. Sure its cheap but I paid more for this phone than my little Huawei and its 3 years old and connects to wifi and mobile data like a CHAMP and is a great music player too!! Is this just too much to ask? 
I would like that a Lenovo representative contact me about what to do with this phone that I wasted money on. I should have bought a Samsung. For all the service center trips and BS I went through, I would have saved myself time and money.

Please don't misunderstand these agents attempting to transfer you to sales as unwillingness to help- They were indeed attempting to get you to where you needed to go, and for the shortcoming in doing so we apologize.

    lately we get problems on our mobile phones, which is when we play music and wear a headset, the music is often stopped for no reason .... then we tried to play music again but it keeps going so we did not get to enjoy the music through the headset .. .

    hi  anyone found a solution for this yet? Cleaning the battery must be a joke, it can't be related to the issue in any way. I found out that using vlc player reduces the number of the headset disconnections, but it is far from perfect

Because I did not use this feature before at all, I suppose, this password should be some factory default setting.     Hello Community,I just bought Lenovo k3 note yesterday(Friday,25/07/2015). In my phone Incomming calls are working fine,ut outgoing is not. Means when I try to make any call, then it simply stopped. and I checked my Voice call setting -> call barring, then there is All outgoing calls are disabled. and when I try to change this then it asks for call barring password, I tried 1234 or 0000 but it doesn't work and showing some msg, Network or sim card error.   • Lenovo A536 Slow charging

    I recently Buy Lenovo A536. at first it was good because of the specs and good touch screen. But when the battery becomes low (because I play games), I charged my phone using 2.1A adapter (it is a fast charger) after a while, I was shocked. My phone shut down. it was all black then a battery charging appeared. I was confused because I am using a fast charger. So this means my phone is charging very slow. Typically. other androids, you can play games even when charging.  Is this issue to the other A536 phones?

    As per the query we understood that you are facing issues with battery not charging in your Lenovo G500 laptop.
    Check with different battery and adapter if possible, also try to uninstall the energy management and check for the issue, also try to reinstall the energy management and check.
    Check if the charging port is damaged and also check if the charging pins are damaged due to damage also there could be in charging. As for the repair you can contact the techinal support or you can also visit the nearest service center for further details.

  • Lenovo A536 problem with audio video playback.

    I've bought lenovo a536 smartphone 3days ago and I couldn't listen to music continuesly.
    The audio or video player is stop playing or pausing unexpectedly. It is only giving problem while using headset.
    Try to fix this critical bug.
    It just ruined the reputation of lenovo.
    Such a worst design ever with lots of bugs.

    I have more informations..
    First a iWire cable is a simple display port to Hdmi 1.4 cable (you can buy it from applestore and it support audio + video).
    SO, I installed windows 7 on bootcamp, and when I plug the iWire cable on my macbook pro while the home theater + videoprojector are ON, windows crash and restart...
    If I plug the iWire cable on the macbook but if only the home theater is ON and the videoprojector is OFF, then it works... The hometheater is recognized as a TV...
    What I don't understand is that my apple TV don't have problem with this config, nether my westerdigital tv.. It's only with a macbook.. display port should not be exactly same thing as a hdmi output maybe.. :/
    I think I will have to buy a longer hdmi cable to plug it on the vp, and a optical cable for the audo to my ht :/

    Serege1410's suggestion is good and will help you find information about your system, but much of what you seek is probably available in the preloaded software.  You may also want to check the ThinkVantage section of the support site to read up about rescue and recovery to make and restore backups, and access connections to configure custom network and printing profiles.

  • Application list in lenovo A536

    I've already have lenovo P770, now I bought lenovo A536. But I cound't find the main menu. All the applications are in desktop. Is there any patch to have that application list. Having everything in desktop is not at all fine. Expecting some help from here.

    That's Lenovo's customized UI(User interface).The desktop is the app drawer.
    If you want a more stock look and feel (with the classic app drawer) just install another launcher like the Google Now Launcher , Nova or This one(The choice is yours..The Play store is full of them)and set that as your Home launcher from settings(can even switch between launchers if you want).
    The last one suggested is very light and very resources friendly.

  • Droid Incredible - Terrible Phone

    I'm really sad to say that the Droid Incredible has turned out to be a terrible phone.  I loved it for almost 18 months, then I started having "problems".  The problems I have been having started with the Google Navigation several months ago - this was my favorite feature of the phone.  The phone shut down in the middle of navigation when I was a few turns from my destination.  From there it has gotten steadily worse.  I took it to the Verizon store a the beginning of December when it went into a reboot loop - i.e. it shut down, then rebooted to the "eye" screen, then shut down again and went on an endless loop.  The nice people at the store did a factory reset for me.  At the time I did not know this was a common problem with Droid Incredible.  Now I know and have lost count of the number of factory resets I have done on the phone since early December - probably 8-10.  I just did another one today.  My phone has been usable for about 15 of the last 24 hours, but now my texting feature doesn't work at all.  That is a new development in the failures of this phone.  I have not used navigation in about 2 months because it reliably shuts my phone down.  Yesterday the simple Google directions feature made my phone shut down, again just a few turns from my destination.  Since early December I have probably had to reboot/restart my phone 30 or so times due to reboot loop.  When this does not work, I do some kind of cache partition clearing, and when that does not work is when I have to do factory reset.  I have searched these forums and see that the only recommendations Verizon has are to buy a new phone, buy a refurbished phone or next time buy insurance.  This is the first time in about 10 years I have been truly disappointed by Verizon.  The worst is when my phone is in a loop and nothing helps, I try to go online for support, but I can't get email support for that problem, they say I must call.  I CAN NOT CALL FROM A BROKEN PHONE.  I am planning on upgrading to the iPhone, but my full upgrade is not due until late April.  I am trying to trudge through with this terrible phone until then, but it is becoming nearly impossible.  It is simply unacceptable for a device that is supposed to be a contender to the highest rated smart phones to behave this way with no support and that the device does not last even a full 2 years.  I do realize that this is mostly an HTC issue, not a Verizon issue, but that doesn't make me any less frustrated.  It is also suspcious that there are no other posts on these issues here.  I guess that would be bad for business.  I am not a complainer, very seldom do I complain, but these major problems seem like they are being ignored or swept under the rug.

I got this phone from my grandmother because she recently upgraded to the bionic. when i got the phone the sd card was fine. it showed pictures well, i could unmount the card and everything was ok. well i put my sd card in, pictures came up fine. well, i had to do an update and the card wouldn't read anymore. so i called ts and they troubleshot the phone. factory reset idk how many times. they sent another one. same thing. seems like after the update it wouldn't work. i have went thru three of those phones and i have this phone. oh did i mention that the sd card that came out of the phone and the one i was using worked in any other droid, multi-media phone, computer, whatever I put it in.                                                                                               

  • Lenovo A536 GPS issue

    I have A536 for one month and i have problems with the GPS.Despite the fact that finds the satelites it doesn't lock. I 've read that it's a common problem of Mediatek processors but i'm so frustrated and dissapointed because i like the phone ,it's very good handset  but the only drawback with the GPS makes me wanna change it.
      So is there any solution without rooting the phone ?Will be a system update update from lenovo fixing the problem?

  • Lenovo A536 stuck during firmware upgrade

    My Lenovo A 536 is not starting, it gives the error No Command at start.
    I was upgrading its firmware but is stopped automatically and rebooted.
    On start it is not booting completely.

  • Droid Incredible is a great small computer... but a terrible phone

    I enjoy using it for playing music, apps, and text/email.
    I cannot tell you how many fights I've gotten into with my wife because half the time when she needs to talk to me she can barely understand what I'm saying, and I have the same problem.  Any background noise (whether using a bluetooth earpeice, speaker, or the phone itelf, makes it impossible to carry on a conversation.
    Sound quality is terrible. Connection for most of the places I would like to use it a sparse....   I don't know if there is any way to improve it.

    It sounds like you may have a service-related problem.  Have you tried reprogramming your phone?  The reason why I am suggesting this is because it doesn't matter what type of connection you have: Bluetooth, phone mic, etc.  Can you dial *228, Send, and choose option 2? After the music plays, a voice will confirm that the programming has been successful.  The phone will reboot after that.  If that doesn't work, please PM me and I will get in touch with you.
    Let us know what happens next!

    After upgrading to 4.3, I have a dreadful reception - and can ONLY get 3G signal... If I change to none-3G reception, I get NO NETWORK message.
    Any ideas how I can resolve this?

    The basics from the manual are reset, restart, restore.

    My G555 looks great. On XP and Win7. Maybe there is something wrong with yours. I also have seen where different models come with different MP cams. It's possible yours maybe the .3 and not the 1.3

  • Lenovo A536 can't hear caller

    While in a call I can't hear the other side unless I put it on speaker, but they can hear me. I didn't drop it or something like that, I haven't changed call settings. Also I can't find any solutions in google. Can someone help me?

    Have you tried Speaker Phone mode? Does this work properly?
    Are you having problems with your Headphone Jack? Try cleaning the Headphone Jack, blow out any dust and debris. Plug and unplug Headphone connector several times. See if this helps. If not.
    Reset, Hold both Home and Power Buttons until the iPhone begins to restart, do not "slide to power off", let iPhone do it.
    Restore.
