Hola, mi teléfono se bloquea después de estar en hibernación y es preciso quitarle la batería y volver a encenderlop ara que funcione correctamente. He intentado muchas cosas pero nada funciona. Agradezco su ayuda.

Lenovo A820 : Rooting and Alternative ROMs

As some of you may know the quad-core Lenovo A820 can now be purchased for only £99 incl shipping.
However, phones sold direct from China are made for the Chinese market. That means no Google apps and
everything else in Chinese.
For use outside China, phone needs to be rooted and an international ROM installed.
Rooting has many other benefits but can be tricky for the uninitiated. I hope this thread dedicated to rooting only would be useful.

Had loaded s130 scatter and unable to get to Rooting Menu (blue font), it just flashes for 1/2 second and blackout itself. tried repeatedly but to no avail. thereafter found a s139 image and it worked.
before rooting, if you check the version on your A820, mine read as S130 and was worried might brick device.
must have tried 20 times before gunning the s139 download. all working now.

Lenovo A820 Memory Shortage

Few days ago I bought a Lenovo A820 from etotalk.com in China.
I bought their 'Etotalk Mod ROM' service for $5. The phone was unlocked, rooted, and they installed an international ROM, multi-language OS, Google Play Store, etc. I was able to use it straight out of the box.
So far so good. Now the problem:
A820 is specified to have 1GB of RAM, 4GB of ROM.
But Antutu reports: Memory (ROM) 349.1/670.1 MB and RAM 502.2/976.3 MB.
Android Assistant app show: ROM 670.14 MB and RAM 976.28 MB
Did I get the phone that I ordered?!

There's no storage to unlock.
A part of the internal storage is exclusively reserved for the OS... That part will never show. That's how Android has always worked.
If you are referring to a repartition of the internal storage I would advice against it.

Lenovo A820 Audio Jack / Headset

Hello,
I've a small question about this phone audio jack. The headset that was shipped with the phone seems to work correctly but if I try to plug any other headset (tested with 3 of them including iphone's headset) the sound is really low and bad quality. If I plug the A820 headset into a computer audio jack I have the same audio problem. I guess that means that there's some speciality in the audio jack and headset of this phone and I'd like to know what to be able to buy other headphones if needed. Or if there's any adapter that would render any headsets compatible with this phone ?

"Connection types for headphones with a mic (and newer ones with volume control) are configured in TRRS- Tip, Ring, Ring, Sleeve. On TRRS there are 2 types- 1. The original TRRS configuration was created by Nokia and has a pinout of Left Audio, Right Audio, Mic, Ground. 2. Apple came along and in typical elitist fashion changed their pinout to Left Audio, Right Audio, Ground, Mic. Many have now followed this design. This is why many apple headsets will not work with android, because the last 2 connections, for Mic and Ground are switched. The issue is with the hardware. The way that songs are skipped (forwards, backwards, and pause) occurs by sending signals down the ground channel (when you tap the button it shoots an electrical signal that the phone will pick up and interpret). The way that volume is increased/decreased occurs by sending signals down the Mic channel. This is why- if you try a set of newer iPhone earbuds on the GSIII- as I have- the center button does nothing, but yet the volume up and volume down both pause tracks, and allow you to skip them!! Additionally, Apple has patents on their TRRS connection- in fact on the resistances (the actual ohm resistance in-line on the controls- not to get scientific or anything ) so that the headphones are designed to work only with Apple products. In other words- you could have a device with the same TRRS Pinout as apple products- but the headset wont work because the resistances (ohms) of the headphones send signals that your phone is not allowed to interpret into the correct actions (since apple patented these)"

I have installed clockwork mod and miui 4.1.3. i am unhappy with this and wish to reinstall the factory rom. the problem is that i know how to restore the original factory recovery, but i need to know how to download the factory rom or zip to restore the mobile to its original condition. can you please help? can this be done using Lenov Smart Assistant?

If you deleted the preloader(that's the main problem) how(as what?) is the phone(whiteout battery) seen in Device Manager?
Try a different Flash Tool version...Try ''download'' instead of ''firmware upgrade''...Try a different firmware version(all I could find for the 4Gb are to be installed from CWM/TWRP )
Check if MTK Droid Tools can see it.
I'm speaking in general here...Don't own a S820.

Lenovo S660 - another phone without 900MHz?

So, is it so that Lenovo S660 is another phone which has two versiona, one with 3G 900MHz and ole without? I did order this from China believing what they said (3G 900) but again (like with S650) I notice that when I cross certain area where I live 3G sign just disappears and turns to G, indicating painfully slow connection.
Lenovo A820 which I also bought from China still works and as it was stated in the auction has 900MHZ 3G, works in 3G even when I cross that line in where I live.
Is it again hardware limitation and a820 still reigns supreme?
Thank god I managed to sell that S650 failure for same price I bought it, hoping that same happens with S660....

Knowing TO2C ''multilinguage'' means a modified Chinese version(just a guess).What is certain is that if the phone was rooted you NEVER HAD A LENOVO WARRANTY in the first place.
Rooting your device leads to warranty void(same goes for flashing modified Chinese firmware)
Your problem is with TO2C(unauthorized Lenovo seller).
You bought the product from an unauthorized seller and don't have a Lenovo warranty,never had( but a TO2C one).
I was trying to help you....Maybe it's not a hardware issue and a proper OS installation (performed by you) could solve the problem.
This is the risk you take when buying from dubious sellers.If it was DOA why didn't you open a PayPal case?
Frustrating as this may be....This are the facts.

Unable to turn on lotus/four leaf clover launcher in Lenovo S720i

I would like to ask for the help. I just bought Lenovo S720i and I don't know how to put lotus/four leaf clover louncher on the screen. I changed few themes, but no luck in any of them, home screen is empty. I have also Lenovo A820 and it is possible to brign on the lotus/four leaf clover launcher in this phone by long-press in home screen - widgets - lotus. But in S720i I cannot find "lotus" in widgets selection.
Has anyone an idea how to fix this? When selecting the themes, there are pictures of home screen with four leaf clover launcher, but when I apply the theme, four leaf clover does not appear.

Well, The forma that you did on the HDD could have Deleted the Lenovo Recovery Partition that is needed in recovering the system to its Original Image.
Do you have an Windows OS Installation disk?
Also when you turn on the computer and start hitting F2, does it boot to the UEFI?

Lenovo Vibe Z Bricked :(

On Thursday last I wanted to re-rooting my smartphone, because previously I had rooted and from one moment to another was un-rooted (I had no idea why) Between trying and trying, no tool served me for root (even I tried and nothing GeniusRoot)
Then I realized that this was because it had locked bootloader (had a Lenovo Recovery) But could not install from zip, anything but Lenovo (TWRP, CWM, root, etc.)
Then I continued researching and gave a tutorial that was to unlock the bootloader (I tried a lot eh?) And it was a .bat, but needed to have the SuperSU. I do not know how I did it, I think it was by ADB, I managed to install the SuperSU (Root). Once the SuperSU, installed the .bat (I think it was called K910SS ... or similar.) When installing said "Great now I have unlocked the bootloader, install the TWRP now) and run the second file, I strip in pure lines of code errors) I thought, "**bleep** ?!"
In trying to turn out the logo "Lenovo" and then the screen turned off and put the Blue LED. I researched and realized it was in Download mode ... After many attempts I realized I had a brick in my hands every time I put out and relit entered the Download Mode only, no combination of buttons (Well, except for Power Button).
Researching gave corion and seergio's tutorials (From HTCMania), but so far none has helped me
I tried QPST MiFlash and Configuration in Windows XP 32-bit, and 200 seconds MiFlash is delayed in making process, but the smartphone remains the same. The QPST Download button did not appear. I even tried with this tutorial, it is simply left with the recovery and some partitions with files ready for you to enter ROM install any recovery or something, but not let me.
Why this was I? Well, I realized that the eMMC when trying to select my device Qualcomm MMC Storage USB Device, I get in Status as "not writable"
I tried to remove the permissions on Linux CHMOD 777, 666, and nothing ... Does anyone have any idea how to give permissions to the device and be able to repair my Smartphone? Actually I'm already losing hope.
Now the smartphone to connect to the PC, connects with a flashing red light time after flashing a few minutes will Download Mode with blue LED (I think it might be the battery)
I appreciate any help and idea

Investigando dí con los tutoriales de corion y seergio, pero hasta el momento ninguno me ha servido
Probé con MiFlash y QPST Configuration en Windows XP 32 bit, y MiFlash se demora 200 segundos en hacer el proceso, pero el smartphone queda igual. El QPST no me aparece el botón Download. Incluso probé con este tutorial, que es simplemente dejar con el recovery y algunas particiones con los archivos listos para que pueda entrar a instalar alguna ROM por recovery o algo, pero tampoco me deja.
¿Por qué se debo esto? Pues, me di cuenta que en el eMMC al tratar de seleccionar mi dispositivo Qualcomm MMC Storage USB Device, me aparece en Status como: "not writable"
He probado a quitarle los permisos en Linux con CHMOD 777, 666, y nada... ¿Alguien tiene alguna idea de cómo darle permisos al dispositivo y así poder reparar mi smartphone? La verdad ya estoy perdiendo las esperanzas.
Ahora, el smartphone al conectarlo al PC, se conecta con una luz roja que parpadea un tiempo, después de que parpadea algunos minutos se va a Modo Download con el led azul (Pienso que quizás sea la batería)

Self installing Apps.... At Lenovo S90u custom ROM

Hey guys...
I can tell that Lenovo mobile topics are not a "hot topic" yet inn this forum... But I hope that will change...
I was thinking if anyone could help me on my latest issue...
I installed the custom rom which I got from "NEEDROM" and the version I installed on my Lenovo sisly S90 is the following
ROM: ROM 2 – VIBEUI_V2.0_1504_5.14.1_ST_S90-u
Since than every freaking morning when I wake up and I change my settings from Airplane mode back to normal I get the following installation hint... The apps, trying to install are called:
- Hot Girls
- Caller ID
- 2048
- Flashlight
My anti-virus is not flagging anything either.... And I just have no idea where this stuff originates from.
If anybody could help me on that issue would be fantastic.

Can I return my Lenovo S 205 ?

Hi guys, I have had a multitude a problems since owning my Lenovo S 205 some 8 months ago.
I got the laptop via Laptops Direct, an online laptop store.
The first problem I experienced was when the laptop kept on shutting down on its own quite a few times. This I later discovered was because the laptop battery had a tendency to become loose sometimes.
The second problem was when it began to freeze after I installed another version of MS Office.
The third problem was when it lost its bluetooth capabilities, although the bluetooth device had been detected as present.
I managed to get the second and third problems fixed by a friend. However, after two weeks, the two problems have returned...TA-RAAA !
I can only recommen other people to stay away from Lenovo right now !
Does anyone know if I can return my Lenovo laptop and get a refund for it, so I can get something else like a Toshiba or an Asus ? Thanks very much !

Can I return my new laptop to lenovo because of its quality problem?

IBM is one of the best brand as I know, especially showing us not only high quality of products but the service.
But now one thing happened to me, if I don't have this case I can't believe. I found there is something with the laptop(T61 Model 7658CTO) the same day when I got the new laptop on June 3rd, 2008. Then I call 800, a lot of 800 calls,at last I were told that I should contact send it back first if I were to get another new one. Three days later I got the box sent by Lenovo, and I return it back in terms of what the paper shown.
Unfortunately the problems of the laptop still exist when I turn on my laptop after it repaired. What's wrong with my laptop, this is new one, I think IBM should provide high quality products.
I don't know how to describe the weird sound , it sounds like two or more micphone opened clost to each other. It is very harsh.
I want to get one new laptop from Lenovo because of the quality of product and customer service or can I return the laptop?
I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

I did it last week because I bought an iPhone 4 as a wedding gift but then I changed my mind and wanted an iPad, so the bride could use it together with the groom (while the phone is personal).
I returned the iPhone to the apple store and I paid the difference to buy the 32GB iPad, no problems
I didn't opened the case, but the guy at the apple store told me I could have returned the phone even if it was opened. It must be undamaged tough.

Lenovo AIO C440 - not working infrared remote control

Hello,
is there any hint how to get infrared remote control working for a new C440 model? Tomorrow I will try to measure and/or replace batteries which could be bad. For now it is totally not working.
Another question: the remote should work only within AverMedia TV app or in the whole Windows 8?

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
The IR Windows Media Center remote control is for use with C440 models with optional TV tuner. If you have this model, make sure the TV Tuner driver and the ITE CIR Driver from the lenovo support site are installed under Device Manager (press Windows Key+R then type devmgmt.msc) then follow the Set up a TV signal in Windows Media Center. guide.
Note:
You must have Windows 8 PRO to enable Windows Media Center

Memory upgrade on Lenovo 3000 j100 (product number: 8254-E6G)

First of all, sorry for my English (I'm trying to improve it)
I run a Lenovo 3000 j100 Desktop with 1GB RAM with two modules of 512MB each one installed on the two slots that the mother board has.
I want to upgrade that memory to 4GB, but I have some doubts about that upgrade that I need to solve before buying the new memory additions.
I've read some commentaries about this topic and there are people who say that the maximum memory size for this models of Lenovo is 2GB RAM, I mean one module of 1GB on each slot.
However, the manual says that these desktops can be upgraded to 4GB RAM.
In consecuence, which is the maximum memory size supported by my Desktop's mother board ?
Sorry for my English again, I hope someone could help me because I wrote this question to Lenovo support and this service answered that I had to read the manual, they didn't solve my question.

My Lenovo 3000 j100 memory sticks are not DDR2, they are DDR.
They have a sticker with this text on:
