Hola a todos soy nuevo en el foro, queria hacerles una pregunta sobre soft, tuve que cambiar el disco rigido debido a un daño irreparable, reinstale los programas, pero los programas propios de lenovo que venian incluidos, como ser trucos para usar la camara o programas como el reproductor para peliculas en 3d no estan.tengo el windows pelado con los drivers pero no el resto de las aplicaciones que venian originalmente, entre a la pagina de lenovo pero hasta ahora vi solo el driver.Alguien podria indicarme donde conseguir el resto?gracias saludos carlos

Youcam solo es gratis si esta pre-instalado, solo se puede conseguir para descarga desde la web Lenovo para Windows 7 kawazaky
Si no tienes Windows 7 para conseguirlo debes ir ala web del fabricante y adquirirlo, un equivalente es el MAnycam es free.
El otro programa recuerdas el nombre? si no se puede conseguir para una descarga desde la web Lenovo se pude conseguir un programa equivalente que no necesite adquirir una licencia.

T440s - i7-4600U CPU - ONLY ONE core operating :((

Hi,
I am an owner of Thinkpad T440s ultrabook, which has Intel i7 4600U CPU installed (exact model is 20AQ006BMC - the one with GeForce 730M graphic card).
Regarding to the documentation on Intel website, this CPU should have 2 cores and 4 threads (Hyperthreading). But when I start CPU-Z utility, it shows me, that I have only one core and two threads available. Same thing displays my process manager in Windows 8.1 - 1 core and 2 logical processors.
Any ideas, what could cause this problem?

So any idea, what could be an issue? Should I use warranty service? because it looks to me like a broken CPU

Why pick only one retailer in Canada ?

I'm very interested in picking up a U110, but for some very strange reason Lenovo Canada has chosen Tiger Direct as their only Canadian retailer.
Tiger Direct doesn't actually carry any of these in stock at their stores. For this particular item they are no different than any online-only retailer.
The price that they are charging is not inline with what Lenovo US is charging. Lenovo US is charging $1,799.00 USD, but Tiger Direct is charging $ 2,378.99 CDN. With the current exchange rate, they should be charging roughly $1,817.99 CDN.
Not only that, but Lenovo US has dropped their price recently but Tiger Direct won't budge.
The question is why did Lenovo not pick multiple, or at the very least, larger retailers to sell this through, like Future Shop or Best Buy ? Why are they not selling through Lenovo Canada ?

Buy the U110 from www.jr.com, they have the right price and they are the only ones who ship to Canada via UPS Express and all you have to pay GST+PST when your item arrives in Canada. Unfortunately our government charges too much taxes, that one of the many things I don't like about Canada. Many states in the US have no taxes, u know?
I recently bought the Idea Pad Y510-D2 from www.jr.com and this one has the wifi abgn+bluetooth and also has the nvidia 8600M GT graphics card.
So, do urself a favour forget tigerdirect and buy from www.jr.com, for future purchases use www.ncix.com or www.directcanada.com, they are located in BC and only charge GST + they ship Express for as minimum as $15, item arrives next day. They also beat prices.

Yes you certainly can.
Right click any desktop in the list > Settings > in the left pane select the desktop you want to auto connect to > check "Auto connect to this desktop".

I started using Apple ID in 2011 when iCloud was not exist and was forced to use non-apple e-mail adress as primary ID.
So I used GMail mailbox.
When iCloud was started I created my account but unfortunatelly can't remove this Gmail address from my Apple ID and replace it with icloud mail address.
I was VERY dissapointed because I don't want to use "outside" mailbox to get letters from Apple and ny ID.
In fact I see the Apple old users and fans discrimination.
When creating new user accounts are free to create a box on the iCloud mail and use it as a primary ID, and the only ONE.
At the same time the old user is obliged to keep third-party mail box like Gmail etc. as the primary and can not get such an opportunity, as a new user
This is extremely inconvenient and a VERY strange logical.
For example, now I want to stop using this mailbox on Gmail but I can not do that because in this case I lose access to my ID, or run the risk that someone in the future will create a box with the same name on Gmail (when name will be free and available) and will automatically get access to my accounts on Apple and to my Apple ID.
Now, to avoid this, your team, I offer the only way out: ID, create anew.
Of course it's possible, but then:
- I lose all my purchases for 3 years and will be forced to make them again and pay money for the second time for my purchases
- Lose access to the familiar iCloud e-mail address who now serves as secondary ID because this e-mail address is almost no longer available and will never be released in future.
And now answer me for ONLY TWO questions:
- WHERE IS LOGIC?
- WHAT ABOUT TO BE FRIENDLY FOR YOUR USERS AND FANS?

You cannot make your @icloud.com address the login address for the ID. However you can change your ID, currently a Gmail one, to any other functioning non-Apple email address. The Gmail address would then no longer access your account, and so even if someone were to obtain posession of it (is that even possible) it wouldn't allow them to get into your account.
If you want to change your ID to another email address please follow the procedure outlined below, particularly noting the first step.
Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
Create a new email address, for example at Yahoo or Gmail, or anywhere convenient (or you can use an existing address as long as it has never been associated with an Apple ID).
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
Where it says 'Apple ID and primary email address' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
Enter your new address and click 'Save changes'.
Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in.
I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.

Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

How do I add an airport extreme to a cable modem with only one ethernet port, while keeping that port connected to my Mac?

I have a mac pro connected by ethernet to a cable modem via ethernet. There is only one ethernet port on the modem.
I want to keep the Mac connected via ethernet for speed. Is there a way that I can add an airport extreme to this set up - for my ipad and roku, and for guests to use - or do I need to buy a router to put between the modem and the mac?
If I need a router, what kind?

The modem connects to the WAN "O" port on an AirPort Extreme router.
The Mac Pro connects to one of the three LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Extreme router.
Or if you do not need the ability to connect a hard drive to the USB port on the router, you can save a bit by using an AirPort Express.

There are many other wireless modems offered by other manufacturers as well.

My wife and I each have an Ipad and only one mail account. Both of us receive the same e-mails but when one of us deleates an e-mail it also deleates on the other Ipad. How can I stop this? I might delete an e-mail she wants to read. Thanks

If you both have the same email account, there's no setting on iPad you can use. When a message is deleted, it's deleted from the mail account server, which will happen on both devices.

When I open up iphoto and click on the events tab then double click on an event, it used to show minis of all the photos in that event. Now it shows only one photo at a time. How do I get it back? Can you help?

I have shut down my mac for half a dozen times in response to the warning -- A Copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time -- that comes up each time I attempt to launch the browser. I have tried out the solutions suggested for previous users (on the Mozilla Forum) who were experiencing similar issues, but I can't even see Firefox on my Mac's Activity Monitor. What's going on?
I started experiencing this problem out of the blue on a networked computer two days ago (on Tuesday December 6). I have been using computers on this network for more than a year and it's only now that I have started experiencing this problem. Furthermore, I have been a Firefox user for more than four years and never encountered this issue. It's frustrating considering I have come to rely on Firefox as my browser of choice.
Other than this background I don't know what else to tell you by way of details.

Thanks for your prompt response. Intriguingly, when I logged on to my Mac (it's on a university network) this morning and launched Firefox it opened without a problem. If the issue resurfaces, I will try out the solutions you posted. Judging from the experiences of users who successfully trouble-shot their issues, apparently, Madakkadam's solution would be most helpful.

I was installing Firefox 4.0.1 and something went wrong. Now every time I try to open Firefox, an error message that says "A copy of firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time." I've looked it up and every forum says something about a terminal.. and lock files.. Could somebody PLEASE break it down and explain it as if you were talking to a 2 year old? I am computer illiterate.

The article explains how to find and stop the extra Firefox process that is causing problems. (You usually use Windows Task Manager to do this - if it is a Windows computer) There is a selection option on the help page with a + by it towards the top right, click that to change the help page details to match the operating system and version of Firefox you use.
If the problem keeps occurring it will be because Firefox has some files mixed up, for instance multiple copies of the files it uses to try to get Firefox to display the details of the last browsing session when you restart Firefox. Officejet Pro 8500 Premier - only one printhead is displayed in 'Printheads Health' window

I changed the black/yellow printhead today in my HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier printer. When I closed the lid, the printer did its housekeeping thing, clicking away while it aligned heads, etc, and printed out a diagnostic sheet that looked terrific.
So I wanted to see what the HP Utility would report as the health of both printheads now. Only the Cyan/Magenta printhead health was displayed, both before I changed the printhead and now after I changed the printhead. The utility reported the Cyan/Magenta printhead was in GOOD condition, along with a green button.
But there was no image of the Black/Yellow printhead at all, so no button showing the health of the printhead that I just installed.
While I was installing the new printhead, I wiped off the gold contacts on the printer where the printhead's contacts would meet. They were clean.
Any suggestions aboutwy the software does not display the health of BOTH printheads?
My operating system is Mac OS X 10.6.8

Am i the only one who when trying to enter the code for creative cloud activation ?

I give up,i have been trying to activate a 3 month subscription for CS6 from Staples and every time i try the code it will not work. I have used the chat live and spent about 3 hours already going nowhere. I do not like talking on the phone to some help desk overseas and the only thing i think left to do is to return the junk.

I tried all that and even took a picture of the numbers and blew them up so a blind person could read them and had 3 others read them off. A simple way to fix the problem is get someone on Adobes staff to find a font that most people can read from whatever product the stick it to.

Hey John,
Not sure if it helps or not, but I know sometimes with codes like that its really hard to tell certain characters apart, O - like in Oscar versus 0 - number and number 1 versus lowercase L like in Lima.
Might test entering it both ways if you have any suspect characters?
