Lenovo B560 battery

Hello!
I have a problem with my Lenovo's B560 battery. It doesn't charge more than a 10% from possible charge level. Somebody will think that the cells are weared out. But they aren'y. I dissasembled battery pack and checked voltage of every cell under load. Results were from 3.53- 3.68 volts. I have 6 cell battery 10.8v So, the cells are ok.
So I think, there could be a problem with battery brains. Does anyone could have an idea, what could I do to solve this problem? Except buying a new battery pack.
Thanks,
Dāvis

Update: the computer will not turn on anymore, not even with just the AC cord and no battery. Please help.

  • Lenovo B560 Battery problem! Need help asap

Hi, I have a big problem with my Lenovo B560.
Recently I started noticing the charging icon in the bottom right corner of the screen would go briefly from "charging" to the icon for "not plugged" (just the battery). If I moved the power cord a bit it would go back to normal.
Days later it happened again but this time a little more persistent. I didn't give it much attention. And then suddenly, last weekend it stopped charging altogether, despite being plugged. I tried different power sources, I tried moving the cable around, nothing. With the little time I had left before it completely discharged, I googled the problem and saw somebody in a thread saying "it's likely tha battery, it needs replacement", which made sense to me, since my laptop is 3-years old.
I ordered a replacement battery and waited. Today it arrived and I put it in, eager to use my computer and have everything going back to normal. I turned on the computer, battery was at 50% but it still did not charge. It showed the battery icon like before, as if it weren't plugged in. I moved the cable around again and noticed it would briefly flash back to being plugged. And then it stabilized on "plugged in, not charging" but it was suddenly at 3%. However, at least it didn't go down this time.
I tried reinstalling the Power Management Driver, restarted, everything was the same. Then I went to Device Management, I disabled the Driver and the icon dissapeared. Restarted, reinstalled driver once more, icon was still gone.
Then I noticed in another thread somebody recommended taking out the battery and turning on the computer with just the power cord plugged in. So I took out the new battery and turned it on with just the power cord. And it worked, and that brings us to the present moment. Both batteries sit next to me and my computer is currently working simply on the power that is supplied by the power cord.
Can anyone please tell me how to get out of this mess? My job relies greatly on this computer working, and I need to fix it asap. Any kind of advice is welcome. Thank you!

  • Lenovo B560 motherboard replacement

    Hi,
My dear laptop died on me about a month ago. It wouldn't do anything when pressing the power button and the power led would not light when connected to power. Tried with or without the battery, no led, no power. I checked with another cable and I checked my cable on another laptop and it worked so the issue has nothing to do with the power cable.
I took the laptop to my universities repair shop for a diagnosis and they said the Motherboard is dead.
Any suggestion where I could find a brand new motherboard replacement in the UK?
    Thanks,

  • Windows 7 Setup won't work on Lenovo B560

My Lenovo B560 Laptop was slow to a point it would crash a few minutes after login, and after restarting one day it would blue screen when I tried to start it up in safe mode, last known good configuration and startup repair. Everytime I would boot to my Windows 7 install disc for Lenovo it would get to the Disc Partition select screen and just stay there loading. I had my hard drive taken out and reformatted and when trying to install windows 7 again, it gets to the Disc Partition select screen and just stays there loading. This screen only loaded once, and it got to the unloading windows files and stayed there. How do I get the setup to go all the way through?

Your hdd may be in trouble, please check the state of your hdd by using and of the hdd diagnostic tools(bootable ones should help)

    After reading the number of people on this forum who experienced the same problem I faced (my T61p 9 cell battery went from fine to dead overnight), I took the advice of the contributors and purchased a new, genuine Lenovo replacement battery from a seller on e-bay.  I compared the new battery to my original battery and here's the test results for each of the 2 batteries;

It is hard to be sure without seeing it, but best guess is that the battery charging circuitry on the motherboard has died. If you still have remaing warranty, now is the time to use it.

  • Lenovo B560 - No wireless!!

Hi, I have a Lenovo B560 laptop, and I've had it for almost 2 years now. I remember I didn't have wireless when I baught it, it just didn't detect any wireless ever, and then after months, it just did. I don't know how it happened, but for a while I could detect wireless. Now I formated my hard drive and reinstalled windows (7 , 64-bit)  ..and I again don't have any wireless connection, no matter where I go. Can you please help me figure this out? Thanks a lot!

    hi tezebe,
Okay so what you'll need are these
    FingerPrinterReader
    BioExcess
    cabx06ww.exe
    25.4MB
    Network Controller
    Intel Wireless WiFi Link Driver
    IN1WLN67WW5.exe
    20.8MB
    PCI Simple Communication Controller
    Intel Management Engine Interface Driver
    Version: 8.0.4.1441/8.0.0.1262
"Unknown Device" Make sure you don't have any third party usb devices plugged in because those maybe what's triggering the unknown device.
For this we need to figure out what type of device this is.
Can you try to download and install AIDA 64 Extreme Edition and post the DEVICE INFO of the unknown device  information the I'll let you know what Driver to download for that.:
Check this sample image on how to get a device info:

  • My Lenovo S890 battery suddenly drains in minutes

Just last night I realized that my Lenovo s890 has been shut off due to battery drain from full charge to 0 in minutes...So what I did is to recharge it again and to my amazement, in under 30 minutes it has fully recharged, but when I unplugged it from the charger there's the battery notification display rapidly counting down...I have checked online for general topics on this matter and tried all the suggested tips and solutions but to no avail...My unit is still under 1 year from date of purchase...please help...

I'm surprised and at the same time disappointed that nobody had offered any input to sorts of troubleshooting to somehow give a semblance of solution to my unit"s problem, or perhaps this is a first type of a problem of its kind thus, no one could come up with any clear solution...Anyway, I have done some tinkering while waiting for replies, and I believe I have solved my own problem, and decided to share with you guys for reference if ever you encounter this same problem:
I consulted years-old forums about android phones quick-battery loss problem and picked out potential solutions there such as:
    1. Not using the Facebook app since its using lots of battery juice by posting notifications which come minute after minute; and instead just use the FB in the built-in browsers which consume very little battery juice...
    2. Tried the full battery drain then recharge 10 times, and after 4th recharging, there already is a significant normalization of my battery life, On this 4th recharge, I got full battery by 7am. After 16 hours, its only down to 66%, and that's with a considerable amount of Wi-Fi connectivity.
    3. I also suspected a particular screenshot app as a culprit for the sudden rapid battery drain, as if this app has caused my Lenovo's battery draining behavior to go haywire. Upon uninstalling the app, the draining behavior of my battery gradully returns to normal...
    4. When this rapid battery draining happened, I had the combinations of Lenovo Battery Saver, NQ Power Booster, and Green Power Free apps which I all used to monitor and keep my battery life at check...then after the "incident" I  stopped using the said apps and replaced them eith Super Battery Saver and Juice Defender which were effective when I still have my Lenovo A90, at first there was a semblance of normalization in my battery life but with this screenshot app[which I also uninstalled with the 3 powersaving apps, then re-installed with this 2 replacement battery saving apps] the battery draining was still fast, which continued even after the second uninstalling of the screenshot app. What I did is to uninstall Juice Defender and Super Battery Saver and replace it with Lenovo Battery Saver and Green Power Free but to no avail...Next move: replaced the Lenovo Battery Saver and Green Power Free with Juice Defender  and NQ Power Booster, and upon the said 4th recharging the return to normal battery draining behavior...
The full-drain then recharge 10 times is still on and I'm still monitoring my unit's battery draining behavior...I will be posting updates...

  • Lenovo T500 battery stays on %100 for awhile then drops down to %99 for no reason

    Hi,
The Lenovo T500 battery stays on %100 for awhile then drops down to %99 for no reason. What's up with this and how do I fix this issue? My laptop is really confusing me. The green battery says it's totally charged %100 and the little AC adapter icon in the system tray says "%99 available (plugged in, not charging.")
    Thanks,
    Liz

    Hello Liz,
that is considered to be normal.
It´s bettter for a Li-ion battery not to be charged fully, so the powermanager don´t load the whole time.
That´s why the percentage could drop. But thats not a problem thats a feature.
if your battery handling is set to automatic in powermanager then, eveythings is ok.
Do you use your machine with AC plugged in the whole time?

    Hi Pheonix...
Intel HD graphics is integrated with the CPU, a dedicated graphics chip would need to be soldered to the main-board.
If you swap the CPU with a more powerful one you probably need to install a larger heat-sink as well.
In short... upgrading is not very practical, may think of selling your B560 and buy a more powerful laptop.
