Lenovo B560 - No wireless!!

Hi, I have a Lenovo B560 laptop, and I've had it for almost 2 years now. I remember I didn't have wireless when I baught it, it just didn't detect any wireless ever, and then after months, it just did. I don't know how it happened, but for a while I could detect wireless. Now I formated my hard drive and reinstalled windows (7 , 64-bit)  ..and I again don't have any wireless connection, no matter where I go. Can you please help me figure this out? Thanks a lot!

hi tezebe,
Okay so what you'll need are these
FingerPrinterReader
BioExcess
cabx06ww.exe
25.4MB
Network Controller
Intel Wireless WiFi Link Driver
IN1WLN67WW5.exe
20.8MB
PCI Simple Communication Controller
Intel Management Engine Interface Driver
Version: 8.0.4.1441/8.0.0.1262
"Unknown Device" Make sure you don't have any third party usb devices plugged in because those maybe what's triggering the unknown device.
For this we need to figure out what type of device this is.
Can you try to download and install AIDA 64 Extreme Edition and post the DEVICE INFO of the unknown device  information the I'll let you know what Driver to download for that.:
Check this sample image on how to get a device info:
Spoiler (Highlight to read)
Let me know what happened.
Cheers!!

  • Windows 7 Setup won't work on Lenovo B560

My Lenovo B560 Laptop was slow to a point it would crash a few minutes after login, and after restarting one day it would blue screen when I tried to start it up in safe mode, last known good configuration and startup repair. Everytime I would boot to my Windows 7 install disc for Lenovo it would get to the Disc Partition select screen and just stay there loading. I had my hard drive taken out and reformatted and when trying to install windows 7 again, it gets to the Disc Partition select screen and just stays there loading. This screen only loaded once, and it got to the unloading windows files and stayed there. How do I get the setup to go all the way through?

Your hdd may be in trouble, please check the state of your hdd by using and of the hdd diagnostic tools(bootable ones should help)

  • Lenovo B560 motherboard replacement

    Hi,
My dear laptop died on me about a month ago. It wouldn't do anything when pressing the power button and the power led would not light when connected to power. Tried with or without the battery, no led, no power. I checked with another cable and I checked my cable on another laptop and it worked so the issue has nothing to do with the power cable.
I took the laptop to my universities repair shop for a diagnosis and they said the Motherboard is dead.
Any suggestion where I could find a brand new motherboard replacement in the UK?
    Thanks,

Du müsstest also Tastatur, Maus und Dongle immer komplett tauschen.
    Gruß
    Sebastian

  • Lenovo B560 Battery problem! Need help asap

Hi, I have a big problem with my Lenovo B560.
Recently I started noticing the charging icon in the bottom right corner of the screen would go briefly from "charging" to the icon for "not plugged" (just the battery). If I moved the power cord a bit it would go back to normal.
Days later it happened again but this time a little more persistent. I didn't give it much attention. And then suddenly, last weekend it stopped charging altogether, despite being plugged. I tried different power sources, I tried moving the cable around, nothing. With the little time I had left before it completely discharged, I googled the problem and saw somebody in a thread saying "it's likely tha battery, it needs replacement", which made sense to me, since my laptop is 3-years old.
I ordered a replacement battery and waited. Today it arrived and I put it in, eager to use my computer and have everything going back to normal. I turned on the computer, battery was at 50% but it still did not charge. It showed the battery icon like before, as if it weren't plugged in. I moved the cable around again and noticed it would briefly flash back to being plugged. And then it stabilized on "plugged in, not charging" but it was suddenly at 3%. However, at least it didn't go down this time.
I tried reinstalling the Power Management Driver, restarted, everything was the same. Then I went to Device Management, I disabled the Driver and the icon dissapeared. Restarted, reinstalled driver once more, icon was still gone.
Then I noticed in another thread somebody recommended taking out the battery and turning on the computer with just the power cord plugged in. So I took out the new battery and turned it on with just the power cord. And it worked, and that brings us to the present moment. Both batteries sit next to me and my computer is currently working simply on the power that is supplied by the power cord.
Can anyone please tell me how to get out of this mess? My job relies greatly on this computer working, and I need to fix it asap. Any kind of advice is welcome. Thank you!

Update: the computer will not turn on anymore, not even with just the AC cord and no battery. Please help.

  • Lenovo B560 Upgrade Questions

I have a lenovo B560 with in intel pentium, Intel HD Graphics Card, and 4GB DDR3 Ram (I Think) and i'm wanting to upgrade the graphics card now and don't know which one to get. I'm also goanna replace the processor later on.

    Hi Pheonix...
Intel HD graphics is integrated with the CPU, a dedicated graphics chip would need to be soldered to the main-board.
If you swap the CPU with a more powerful one you probably need to install a larger heat-sink as well.
In short... upgrading is not very practical, may think of selling your B560 and buy a more powerful laptop.

  • BIOS Update für LENOVO B560 Modell 4330

    Hallo!

  • Lenovo b560 can't install nvidia display driver

hello i've learned that lenovo b560 computers got 2 graphic cards one is intel hd graphics other is nvidia 310m but i can't install the nvidia driver it always gives the no compatible drivers found error :/

    hi Frost1,
    Welcome to the Forums.
The B560 with Intel+Nvidia graphics uses the Nvidia Optimus Technology to switch between the Intel GPU (for power saving) and the Nvidia GPU (for applications that requires more processing power).
If you have Windows 7, try the following:
    1. Restart the machine and hit F8. On the menu, select "Disable driver signature enforcement".
       - Sample image
    2. Install these drivers then reboot:
1st:   Intel Onboard Graphics Driver for Windows 7 (64-bit)
2nd:  NVIDIA Display Driver for Windows 7 (64-bit)
If you still get the error, can you PM me your serial number or indicate your machine type (e.g., 0679-3JU) to check the PC specs.

    hey andrew5s,
try uninstalling the wireless driver for your unit, let windows install its generic driver.
test your wireless with the generic driver.
    later go to : http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=287385

  • Lenovo b560 repair under warranty

    Hello,
I am currently experiencing problems with the repair service under warranty and would be really greatful if somebody from Lenovo could respond to this.
My laptop (B560) stopped powering with the power adapter attached to it out of nowhere so the next day I went to the local authorized warranty service center where I was told that the B-series laptops are not serviced in Lithuania (where I currently live) and that I should call the Ibm technical center to arrange the shipping of my laptop to Poland where they have an authorized warranty service center which can repair my B560 laptop. I was assured that the shipping cost will be covered by Lenovo, thus, I dispatched this item the next day to Anovo company in Wolomin, Poland. I must add that this laptop was not mechanically damaged in any way and was not used in any way that could contravene with the general exploitation purposes of any computer. And nor did Anovo reported otherwise. However, Anovo qualified it as the CID (Custumor Induced Damage) case and informed me that the total cost of repair would be 104,53€ and in case I refuse to repair my laptop at my own cost I have to pay for diagnosis and logistic - 43,18€. Not only was the qualification as the CID a surprise to me, but also that I have to pay for the item to be qualified as not eligible for warranty repair.
Firstly, this never happend to me with any electronic equipment before (and i used warranty services before with many different brands including IBM‘s warranty service). I was sure that the customer should not pay for a simple verdict that the product does not qualify for the repair under warranty. Moreover, how could they ask me to pay for logistics as well is beyond my understanding of warranty service. Is it my fault that there is no warranty service in the country I bought my laptop and how could I possibly know that they will refuse to repair the laptop under warranty before actually sending it to them? In this case Lenovo (if this is actually Lenovo‘s policy) leaves a customer with two options: the first one being to send it to another country for repair and risk to pay at least double the price one would pay in a local coputer service center (because of logistics price, i guess) or there is the second option to never apply for warranty service at all and pay for any damage (be it manufacturer‘s fault or not) by yourself and, thus, not risk to overpay. Am i being too optimistic to expect that this is not the actual Lenovo‘s policy and attitude towards their customers? At last, the technical support center that i called in Lithuania to register my laptop‘s dispatch to Poland did not warn me about the possibility that I could be charged to pay for the logistics or diagnostics of my computer in case for some reason they decide that it is not eligible for warranty repair.
Secondly, they indicated the problem as the "damaged DC-in socket (pushed-in) which is installed on lower case".  I replied to them with an explanation that the laptop was never damaged by me or any other person and that I can not understand how something in the DC-in socket could be pushed-in in any other way than pushing the power adapter in it, which i believe is exactly what it's purpose is. Isn't it manufacturer's responsibility to assure that no part is "pushed-in" and as a consequence not working when the computer was used carefully and in accord with it's purpose? I hope that it is the manufacturer who should warrant that the weak parts of the product, which were broken when used in accord with it's purpose, are fixed or replaced. To these and other questions I got the response that „Based on Lenovo procedures, we are obligated to qualify such damage as CID. It means that we cannot provide repair under the warranty. It's not our role to arbitrate if some damages are caused by customer misused or not.“
Thus, could someone from Lenovo please look into this issue or tell me what else could I do in this case (or whom should i contact) before thinking of taking any legal actions against Lenovo.
The reference for my laptop is: Lenovo RMA LE110601W0036 , s/n WBxxxxxxxx , model B560
Thank You in advance and sorry for my bad english.
