Lenovo b570 Hard disk

I got this computer about 3 moths ago. It was freedos and I installed windows 7 ultimate. After a month, it went off and then when I turned it back on, there was this message on the screen saying to start windows normally or to repair and reset the system. I chose the last option and couldn't get to turn the computer back on. Then, I could get the computer on, only on safe mode for some time. After that I got the hard disk exchange. Two days ago the problem came back. The computer won't turn back on. It will only work on safe mode.
Do I have to change the hard disk again?
Someone else with this problem
What is wrong with this series?
There is no virus.  I got kaspersky .
Sorry about my grammar, I will improve one day

Hi ana92,
Welcome to Lenovo Community! You should repair the Windows and see if it helps. Also, try running hard disk diagnosis to check if the hard disk is the culprit.
Note: Go to Device manager and check for the Hard Disk Brand. After that, download hard disk health checking tool from the respective brand's support site.

  • Lenovo E530c hard disk trouble with Linux

    Hi,
I've got Lenovo E530c with dual boot Windows7/Ubuntu 14.04 x64 and when i'm working on Linux hard disk becomes noisy and performance is worse 20-30% compared to windows. When i switch to windows everything is back to normal silent mode. Anyone have any idea what is the cause of this behaviour and how can I fix it?

  • Compatible lenovo t410 hard disks

hello, My hard drive in my lenovo t410 has stopped working and i am looking to buy a new one. I read that the it supportes max capacity of 500GB and compatible with micro SATA 2. I did not understand what "micro SATA2" means, and i wonder if that information is up to date. so my question is can the t410 take any 2.5" Hard Drive - 1T/750GB/500GB 7200RPM/5400RPM with sata3/sata2? for example, can i buy any of the following hard drives for my lenovo t410? Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD10JPVX 1TB 5400RPMHGST Travelstar 7K1000 HTS721010A9E630 1TB 7200RPMWestern Digital Scorpio Black WD7500BPKX 750GB 7200RPMWestern Digital Scorpio Black WD5000BPKX 500GB 7200RPMWestern Digital Scorpio Blue WD5000LPVX 500GB 5400RPM thanks.

Hi, Micro SATA interface is usually present on 1.8" inch height hard drives. SATA2 has a maximum transfer rate of 3Gbit/s, so SATA3 HDD's with 6Gbit/s will work as 3Gbit/s in a SATA2 interface. The maximum capacity is based on your OS partition scheme. MBR supports 2 TB while GPT supports... a lot. GPT requires that your BIOS boot system is set to UEFI (instead of legacy).

  • Mini 200-4200 - Hard Disk Error

    Hello,
I have: HP Mini 200-4200, pr nr B3R47EA#ABU, System Board ID 338D, Win 7 (factory installed) ...what else.
I´m not very computer literate, first of all. And second, I´m in Nicaragua on a gap year - little resources around.
The Mini is under warranty, I bought it in Oct 2012, London, it´s been gradually slowing down, which I contributed to having maybe too much stuff on it.. Until, something happend few days ago. After turning on and thinking for few seconds, it makes a little "bing", and showes "Hard Disk Error", Please rund the Hard Disk Test in System Diagnostics.
When I do as it says, in a second (literally, with no thinking time), comes up:
    Primary Hard Disk Self Test
    Quick Test
    Hard isk 1 Quick (303)
    Primary Hard Disk Self Test
    Full test
    Hard disk 1 Full (305)
    SMART check to Exit Testing
    Hard Disk SMART Passed
So I press the Esc to exit and then comes up:
    "Hard Disk Test" Failed.
Then I did the F10 tapping in the beginning (read in one advice post) to get to Bios:
I went to Diagnostics and pressed Primary Hard Disk Self Test.  It doesn´t seem to do the test because in the same second as I press Enter, box comes with "Hard Disk 1 Quick (303)" , "ok", ...in the background I can see the Short Test Executing 0% Complete, Estimated time unknown...but I think it doesn´t do it at all. When I press the ok, nothing happens.
I´m not sure what to do. Or where is my nearest HP representative. Is there on in Managua? (or Esteli would be closer).
AND - is there a possibility to salvage any files?
Not sure if this is of any importance, when I go to the Diagnostics Log, the numbers that are listed there are 0303, 03F1, 0305. Repeating.
Please help to save my little Mini, it has been a good companion.
    Thanks,
    Maire

    View Solution.

Thanks for the reply - I will call the local HP support (Nicaragua) tomorrow. And will post if stuff gets solved.
However - HOW CAN I SALVAGE THE INFO?
I´ve heard that warranty doesn´t cover that. But then again, if I ask a computer repairs place to do it, I risk the warranty? I´m not sure if HP allows to do it (in Lenovo the hard disk can be removed without trouble... I´m told...)
I also have additional Accidental Damage Protect Service w Pickup and Return...which I hastily did before travelling...and now I can´t remember what it covers besided "spilling the odd coffee cup" ....I can´t find any other terms and conditions other than the States version....
Any ideas how I can salvage the info?

  • Just bought a Lenovo 3000 N200 without a hard disk drive, need software

I just bought a Lenovo 3000 N200 Type 0769-BLG assembly date 07/09 from e-bay, it looks brand new but it had a fault, it was dead, perhaps a faulty motherboard and the hard disk drive had been removed.  Assuming I can get the fault fixed, where can I get the Lenovo software that came with the original hard disk drive, I would prefer a free source, if that is possible, perhaps some kind person has put all of the CD's on to a DVD that I can borrow or buy a copy of. (my probable guess is hardware malfunctioned?) If the hdd is no longer detected in the bios then the possibility is that you have a crashed hdd and therefore need to replace it. Just to be sure, go to bios and set everything to default. Save and exit. See if you can now see the hdd in the bios.

  • Lenovo Hard Disk Issue - Felt bad about the service

This email is regards to the complaint on Lenovo All in desktop i purchased which is still there in warranty.
I purchased All in one desktop on 25/02/2014 in one of the outlet of Reliance Digital, Bangalore,India.
Below is the detail of the product -
    SN : CSxxxxxxxx
    Product Family : C240
    Machine type : 10113.
I was getting "Error 1962 : Operating system not found" . and raised a request to rectify the problem. The service engineer came with new hard drive for replacing it. I asked for my data and they told it's customer responsibility to make the data back up. He himself gave the hard disk which was there with hard disk and asked me to back up with some third party vendor.
I visited Cadons, Bangalore for data back up and after checking Cadons engineer told hard drive is completely dead better contactLenovo again so that they will repair it and give one it is repaired i he told he will be able to make data back up.
I again called customer care executive and told that third party vendor was not able to make the data back because of hard drive failure but they are refusing to repair hard drive and each time i am receiving a call from service engineer and are just trying to close the ticket at the earliest by replacing the hard drive. No one is bothering about repairing the hard drive and helping me to take my data back up.
For your reference :Ticket number : TVSE/IDEA/7006373733/
I also sent email to [email protected] from whom i am receiving the emails stating that they will resolve the issue but no action was taken from last 20 days.
I just wanted to check whether Lenovo execut\ives are really meant to serve customer issues? If somebody is there please let me know. Otherwise i will just throw this harddisk and say good bye to Lenovo and it's products in future.

    Dear Members,
    Good Day!
Over the past few days, I have being getting warning messages in Intel Raipd storage technology app that " Disk on Port 0: At risk"
I have ran a hardware scan on my Hard disk and have noticed few of the tests getting failed, I  have gone through many of  posts in this fourms and understood that, my HDD is having some problem and it may crash any time.
I have taken back up of my factory default recovery disks in to DVD's.  However I would like get clarified on  few things related to replacing the existing HDD and setting up windows 7 in my new HDD.
    1) After replacing my OLD HDD , In my new hard disk do I need to create the C disk  with same size as that of OLD HDD for the OKR to work and restore everything properly.
    2)  Will the one key recovery feature  work with my new HDD as well? If not , what should I do make it work?
    3) Will the OEM parition( having factory default backup )be automatically created in new HDD ?
Please find the Hardware sacn result below from Lenovo solution center.

@ortegaluis: my hard disk crashed a few days back (i have 3000 n100 and currently running the machine on a 1 gb pen drive )
was planning to buy a 320/500 GB hdd : seagate or western digital or hitachi (since hitachi was the one intially installed)
Could you please tell me, which one would be best? (it seems you have experience in the field)
Do i need to look for specs any other than these: 7200 rpm, 2.5" ?
    Thanks
PS:  all those who want to know possible behaviors of hard disks before crashes, visit http://datacent.com/datarecovery/hdd/hitachi . Mine gave a clicking sound exactly like the one on the page. Worked for a few days before giving up. If you hear similar sounds, back up your data immediately unless you want to loose it like i did

  • Installing Lenovo Windows 7 upgrade in a new hard disk

I have an U330 and I have received Lenovo Windows 7 upgrade disc. My pre-installed OS is Windows Vista.
I bought a new 500 Gb hard disk and I want to change my U330's hd for this new one AND also want to install Windows 7 in this new hard disk.
Question: is is possible to install windows 7 using Lenovo Windows 7 upgrade discs directly in this new hard disk?
Or do I need first to change the hard disk (and restore backup or restore factory default) and then upgrade to Windows 7?
    Thanks in advance

I dont think it is possible, the upgrade disk will check for a eligible version of Windows vista before starting the installtion

  • T60 - Hard Disk (other than lenovo and IBM)

    Hi,
    I want a buy 160 GB hard disk for T60 - 1952 - CTO model.
    Will T60 support 250 and 320 GB HDD ?
Are there any other compatible hard drives available in the market apart from buying it from Lenovo or IBM.  The HDD of IBM/Lenovo are quite expensive.
What is the risk that I run if I purchase a hard drive from Seagate or any other manufacturer.
    Thanks,
    Rahul.

Any SATA drive would do.  You remove the hard drive cover, pull out the hard drive, then you will see the original drive.  Remove the four screws holding the caddy to the drive, put the new drive in the caddy, re-screw, re-cover then reload your Ubuntu OS  operating system.

  • Upgrading Hard Disk Drive of Lenovo THINKPAD T500 2055 ?

    Hi there,
My personal laptop is Lenovo THINKPAD T500 2055, and its main specifications as follows:
    - Intel Core 2 Duo processor T9400 (2.53GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2).
    - 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM Memory Module 4 GB (2 x 4 GB) 1066MHz DDR31066/PC38500 DDR3 SDRAM SoDIMM Kingston
    - ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256MB.
    - 160 GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm.
I really need to upgrade the Hard Disk Drive to a bigger size (500 GB, 7200 rpm). and, my major questions are as follows:
    * Could you please advise me on which Hard Disk Drive (500 GB, 7200 rpm) should I buy for my T500 laptop?
For example, I found (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003NSBF32) But I have no idea what T500 supports and what it doesn't... Therefore, I need your help to guide me about this matter. In other words, How do you know if ABC-Hard Disk Drive fits with T500 and XYZ-Hard Disk Drive doesnt fit? What is the clue in knowing what T500 accepts?
    My another question is:
    * How easy is it to remove/replace Hard Disk Drive in Lenovo ThinkPad T500 ???
I already watched CRU Removals/Replacements on (http://www.lenovoservicetraining.com/ion/R61_T61/index.html), But the clip is for ThinkPad R61 and T61. So, Could you please help me how to handle it with T500 ?
I would greatly appreciate your inputs.
Thanks for your consideration of my request, and I very much look forward to hearing from you soon !

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Any SATA drive that is 2.5'' wide and 9.5mm high will work in your T500. The drive you linked to meets the requirement and thus will work.
For removal and installation instructions, have a look here:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/migr-71568.html
