Lenovo Battery Spacer (FRU #92P1227 or FRU #42W3050) for ThinkPad X61s

I've bought a 8-cell battery (40Y7003) for my Lenovo ThinkPad X61s, but there no optional battery spacer (FRU #92P1227 or FRU #42W3050) comes with the battery. So there is a big backlash between the battery and the laptop chassis. I've searched through google and it seems almost impossible to get the battery spacer alone. Can you suggest any solutions to the problem?
Thank you.

To the best of my knowledge the spacer is included in the box. Was your battery purchased from an authorised Lenovo reseller or directly?

  • Power Manager : Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached

I refuse to pay the bloated price Lenovo charge for their 'genuine' Lenovo battery and bought a long-life one for less than half the Lenovo price. However I keep getting that annoying message popping up and i bascially have to click the pop up to see a website to then shut it down. Invaiably the message will repeat several times and just , well , 'do my nut in'.
there is a similar thread in the T60 section but the fix there entails an XP element which i tried but it wont work in Vista..anyone any idea how to disable this dumb warning?
I'll take my chances if the battery goes boom....

the only way to disable it is to uninstall the ThinkPad Power Manager software.

if your battery does go boom then the cost savings won't seem so great.   almost every battery explosion i've seen (all of which were non-genuine batteries) completely destroyed the notebook.
lenovo batteries have monitoring/failsafe electronics built in.   third-party batteries do not have this.   third-party batteries also wear out much more quickly than a genuine as they use cheap cells.   unfortunately, there's no such thing as an inexpensive long-life battery.

  • How do you uninstall the wireless service and lenovo battery indicator from the task bar.

Was wondering if there is a way to remove them from the taskbar. Initially I had just the battery indicator and then I downloaded all the lenovo updates (for bios, etc.) and got the wireless service indicator too. They seem kind of redundant to me, as windows 7 already has their own on the task bar and they're just taking up additional space.
I'd atleast like to get rid of the wireless service.
Will this effect anything? Are they that important?

Right click on the Lenovo battery gauge in the taskbar, click "Launch Power Manager", click Options, clear "Show Power Manager Gauge in taskbar" check box.  If Options tab is not available, switch to Advanced mode (upper right corner of Power Manager).
Don't recall specifics for Lenovo network icon, but is probably just as simple.  Would be better (IMHO) to get rid of Access Connections altogether.
Removing the icons will have no affect on anything, except your piece of mind from removing these ugly and redundant symbols of bloatware.  They are NOT important.

  • Difference between FRU 44C3928 and FRU 44C3931? Two DIMM

    Hey All,
I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between FRU 44C3928 and FRU 44C3931. I recently bought a T61P (6458-5KU) off of Craigslist and unfortunately I have the dreaded 42W76W3 Planar. The gentlemen before me only had 1 DIMM populated so he never experienced the problem but unfortunately as soon as I upgraded to 4GB's and populated both DIMM's I did.
I haven't tried calling Lenovo for a replacement since the unit is out of warranty, I'm still willing to try though! However, to cover all my bases I've turned to eBay to find a new Planar, on eBay there are currently 44C3928's for about $200 while the 44C3931's are going for $350
I'm hoping someone here can tell what the difference is and if I buy the 44C3928 will I have any issues installing it into the case or booting into Windows.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Christopher1580,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per the query we understood that you are looking for replacement of System board for your ThinkPad T430.
I am sorry to inform you that the FRU part number which you have provided is not showing the FRU list, you can check with the FRU link for ThinkPad T430.
I request you to provide the system MTM (Machine Type Model) number so that we can provide complete details on that.
    Hope this helps.

  • Thinkpad x61s battery spacer

    Dears,
I own a thinkpad x61s since 2009, that came with a 2200mah battery (I'm not sure about the capacity, but I guess it is the one that has the smalest capacity for x61x).
Now that its lasting just 30 minutes on battery, I'm looking for a new one 8 cells battery to buy.
When I was looking for it, I found out that the 8 cells battery needs an extra (small) spacer to match perfectly on x61s chassis. It's a kind of adapter.
My doubt is whats the part number of this adapter, and where I can buy it.
    Thanks,

if you buy it from Lenovo then the spacer is included in the package, otherwise you can get it from ebay for under 10 dollars.

  • Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached, Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga

I am having a message that says "Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached" message that appears after Windows 8.1 starts up. A similar sort of message appears before even Windows boots up, and I need to press the 'Esc' key in order for Windows to boot. This seems to have happened after a recent Windows update. I have uninstalled an reinstalled the Lenovo Power Management Driver but it does not appear to have fixed the issue. My BIOS is the latest version.
This issue is on my Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1.
    Any assistance is appreciated.

Reset simply does a circuit discharge, it doesn't wipe anything off your hdd.

  • Ignore "Not a genuine Lenovo Battery"

Ok, everytime my computer comes back from sleep, I get the message "This battery is not a Genuine Lenovo Batter"
    here's the thing: I really don't care.
This message is really starting to get on my nerves because when I click on it, it doesn't go away.
Also the battery guage refuses to get the correct percent on the battery. Right now, i have it plugged in, and it's telling me a) that its on battery power, and b) its only at 71%.
Now it updates ONCE every time i log in from sleep mode. but thats it. it doesnt update when I'm off AC power so I dont know when my battery is going to die.
is there ANY other power manager or something i can do to stop this message and make the ThinkVantage power manager recognize the battery?
EDIT: Or do i need to install drivers for this manufacturer's battery?

If the battery is a genuine Lenovo battery, updating the battery management software should get rid of this.

  • Genuine Lenovo battery - not

I just purchased a battery for my X200S from notebook-laptop-accessories co uk, advertised as a 'genuine Lenovo' item (there's even a picture of a Lenovo-branded battery on the page). When it arrived, it was just an aftermarket battery as you can find on eBay for less than half the price. Thankfully due to a PayPal glitch my payment didn't go through, so I'm not out of pocket (they're welcome to pay me the postal costs to return it!), but I thought other users might appreciate the warning.

    thanks for the feedback.

  • X200 brand new battery: "Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached"?

    Hi,
I got a new 9-cell x200 battery from lenovo literally a few hours ago, and upon plugging it in Power Manager gives me the dang "Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached" message... despite the battery being ordered directly from Lenovo! I've noticed that the cells in this battery are Panasonics instead of the Sanyos I got in my 6-cell included with my x200.
Why is it giving me this message, and how do I disable it (without getting rid of Power Manager)?
(To be honest, I'm more interested in the first question )

  • Power Manager Guage: Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached

I have a T60p Thinkpad  (WinXP) with a non-genuine Lenovo Battery.  Several times a session, a warning balloon pops up from the system tray Power Manager Guage that reads "Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached".  There is no way to close the balloon and if I try, it takes control of my browser and tries to sell me a battery.  Very heavy-handed marketing.
Is there any way to disable this ballon, even getting into the registry?  I cannot buy a new battery and the ballon is quite distracting!
    Thank you

I just got an aftermarket battery, which I have no choice about because that is
our office supplier.  It is one thing to warn me ONCE about a possibly inferior
accessory.  IT IS ENTIRELY ANOTHER MATTER TO NAG ME CONSTANTLY ABOUT IT.
So  I have to choose between beging nagged by the "not a genuine Lenovo
battery" message all the time, or disabling all battery charge control by exitting the application.
Thanks a lot Lenovo.  Everyone else in the office has already gone to other brands.
If this is the way Lenovo treats their customers, then this is the last Thinkpad I will ever
    buy too.

  • Battery replacement for Thinkpad X60

    Hello,
Bought a battery replacement for Thinkpad X60. When tried to install it discovered an L-shaped part of the laptop (seems non-removable) which prevents inserting the battery. Has anybody encountered such a thing?
A pdf with some pictures is uploaded here .
    Thank you!

    Welcome to the forum!
You're referring to the plastic L-shaped part on picture #2, right? That's a spacer for the X6xs models. You can remove it by loosen the two screws with a coin.
That's an aftermarket battery, not a Lenovo one btw.

  • Lenovo NeXtScale N1200 Enclosure is a customized solutions for your applications

QuestionDo you need a customized solutions for your applications?
AnswerLenovo NeXtScale N1200 Enclosure is a customized solutions for your applications that can be configured to meet your specific business needs. Lenovo NeXtScale N1200 Enclosure is the best solution for optimum compute power, GPU acceleration, maximum compute power, GPU or coprocessor and storage with the right I/O and networking. Since the NeXtScale platform is optimized for standard racks, it allows the mixing of high-density NeXtScale server offerings and non NeXtScale components within the same cluster rack. Lenovo NeXtScale System is comprised of compute nodes and chassis. The compute node is the nx360 M5 and the chassis the n1200 Enclosure.  The chassis can house up to 12 half-wide nx360 M4 and nx360 M5 nodes. The Lenovo n1200 enclosure is a light chassis without integrated networking or switching. As a result, no chassis-level management is required.  The nodes in the chassis with front access cabling would connect to top-of-rack switches installed in the same rack. Lenovo NeXtScale System is the data center solution for clients who are facing challenges such as physical space, budget, and low productivity due to late production readiness. Lenovo delivers NeXtScale, a dense platform that not only is cost optimized but also provides tremendous time to value by helping clients get on-board more quickly.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
One concern I have is this package is developed for v12.0. According to SAP, these action blocks will work in 12.1 but not in 12.2. I've tried to install it on 12.2. The configuration dialog are not working properly.
Have anybody succefully implemented this package on 12.2?
    Best regards,
