Lenovo G50 BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant

Hello everybody !
I kinda have a problem as the title states. My neighbour has a Lenovo G50 she bought and came with windows 8.1 x64 ( which she doesn't like at all and in my opinion win7 is far more superior ). The thing is I wanted to install her the Windows 7 Ultimate but everytime the " loading files " ends right after it boots from the dvd I get a bsod with the message " The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant Stop 0x000000A5 "
I tried all kind of different settings through the bios, changed from UEFI boot to Legacy / disabled secure boot / fast boot / I set the ACHI to compatible / but the end result is almost the same ( two times with different settings my screen froze with a red line over the top after loading the files )
My question is what is the problem and is there a fix for it? (of course it is,but I don't know it )
 Thanks !

  • Satellite M45-S331 Laptop; ACPI Bios in this system is not fully compliant

Can you please help w/ a booting problem?  I installed a new HD (WD Scorpio Blue PATA 160 GB) in a Satellite M45 Laptop; then imaged using the Toshiba Recovery and Apps DVD to Windows XP.  (DVD labeled TK143/PMAE00213012).  During re-image, the first displayed text/first routine said "Windows 98"; but the final image was Windows XP.  That seemed odd, almost like the image was an "update" from 98 rather than a fresh XP image; or perhaps it's nothing at all...
When powered on, it progresses past POST to the TOSHIBA screen, pauses, then displays this Blue Screen:
"The bios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor or visit www.hardware-update.com for an updated bios. If you are unable to obtain an updated bios or the latest bios supplied by your vendor is not ACPI compliant, you can turn off ACPI mode during text mode setup. To do this, simply press the F7 key when you are prompted to install storage drivers. The system will not notify you that the F7 key was pressed - it will silently disable ACPI and allow you to continue your installation."
    Technical information:
    ***STOP: 0x000000A5 (0x00000011, 0x00000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/256841
The "F7 trick" (from above) doesn't seem to work, but I'm not positive the right time to touch the F7 key.  hardware-update.com is not running anymore.  I'm not sure what BIOS I have, but thought I saw 2.0 at an error screen. Is there a new BIOS to fix this?
After a crash, I get the option of booting to "safe mode", which I usually take.  It still gets the blue screen.  What do I do do get this machine to run?  Thanks in advance for the help!!

so ... the BIOS that its there (and in fact its the latest and the only ona available on Lenovo website is insydeH20 93CN54WW
I can turn legacy boot, disable secure boot (BIOS passwd needs to be set first !), boot from USB but get above BSOD.
This really is ridiculous joke that I have a laptop and I cannot install any other OS due to the BIOS not being ACPI compliant .
I bought this wee smal one, cos I've been using Lenovo/IBM laptops for ages, now have two brand nw ThinkPands one Ideapad and this small one. I had no issues whatsoever to get rid of Windows 8 on ThinkPads and Ideapad, Win 7 and Linux installed nicely, but this one ... I'm honestly so angry I bought it that if I won't get this problem sorted I'll just stick it on ebay. Lenovo .. you have dissapointed me with this one! AAAGGGHHHHH!
Folks ... does anyone have a solution for this? Help me cos in worst case scenario I will just throw it out the window.
Hey there, have a question for you...
I have the same issue that you do, on my flex 2-15 ideapad. You mention that you were able to get windows 7 to install and boot on your ideapad.
HOW did you accomplish this one?? I am at a loss... Windows 7 starts to boot, but freezes as soon as the animation begins.
Maybe I could help you (not positive, but will try) with your issue if we could figure out what to do about my BiOS.
    Thank you

  • L505D-S5965 BIOS not fully ACPI compliant

Okay, I tried to reply to "BIOS Update Failure Satellite L505D-S5965" since my issue is similar and I have the same model, but that issue is closed so it wouldn't let me.
A couple weeks ago I was picking up my laptop and it slipped out of my fingers ad fell. Only about 6 - 8 inches, but it landed at an awkward angle. It immeadiatly started making a sound that made me think I had damaged the hard drive (a noisy whiring noise). I unplugged it and pulled the battery out immeadately. When I rebooted it, Vista never loaded fully, (I got a "Windows is loading files" but never a logo). I get a BSOD that reads
The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated BIOS.
    STOP: 0x000000A5 (0x00001000, 0x00000000, 0x96408500, 0x00000100)
The laptop has not booted since. Ever since, I get the option to attempt to boot Windows normally or go into Windows Startup Repair but it won't respond to the keyboard to let me choose which, and after 25 seconds attempts to boot into Windows Startup Repair, which gives me the same BSOD.
I can punch F2 to enter BIOS or F12 to enter Boot Manager, but the system doesn't responcd to keyboard in either.
I swapped the hdd into another laptop, which booted sucessfully.
A known good hdd installed in this system gives same BSOD.
I removed the hdd and booted off a recovery disc, which yeilded the same BSOD.
I attempted to flash BIOS off a USB as described in the above mentioned post, and it never worked. It looks like it never accessed the flash drive. The BIOS version is the most current available according to Toshiba, 1.5
If I remove the HDD and don't have a Recory disc in the DVD drive, I get:
"PXE-E61 Media Test Failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.
No Bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key"
This is the same with the BIOS flash drive or without.
I managed to disconnect the CMOS battery, upon booting the next time it recognized that power from CMOS had been interupted, but didn't change any other behavior.
So, do we think that my problem is physical damage, or did I do something interupting power? I have a parts laptop, so would the damage be, is it something I could swap (parts computer doesn't power off battery or AC, no lights, brick)
Anyone have any suggestions on what to try next?
    Sean

    Sean
First, let's try a system reset. Power off the notebook, unplug everything from it including the AC, remove the battery, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, next replace the battery and the AC, then power on, as soon as you see the Toshiba logo press 'F2' to enter BIOS setup, in setup try to press 'F9' to load setup defaults, press 'F10' to save and exit. If the keyboard still won't work in setup to press 'F9' and 'F10', try this operation again, with an external keyboard.
Assuming you can complete this operation, but it still does not resolve your problem, try powering off, remove the AC and battery, then try removing both RAM modules, next replace one module in a different slot, replace the battery and AC, and try it again. Repeat as necessary to try to find a bad RAM module and/or bad slot. See page 52 of your Satellite® L500 Series User’s Guide on how to access and remove RAM modules.
Please let us know what happens. Good luck.

  • Bios not fully acpi compliant

I can't get past a blue screen (BSOD) which states ...The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant... I've researched this site and the web and can't find an answer that works. I'd like to try to update the BIOS since it's the original and there are 2 newer versions but they appear to require windows to run and I can't boot into windows. My system is:
    HP Pavilion Elite Desktop m9340f
    Q6700 @ 2.66 GHz
    6 GB RAM (2x2GB+2x1GB)
    Asus IPIBL-LB "Benicia" Motherboard
    BIOS 5.25 dated 6/16/2008
    Windows Vista 64bit
This is how far I get:
    Windows is loading files...
    Microsoft Corporation flashes then BSOD
Here's what I've tried so far:
    F8
    Advanced Boot Options:
"Repair Your Computer" tries to start window, get BSOD
"Safe Mode" "Loading Windows Files"  then BSOD
F9 HP Diagnostics works OK and all hardware checks out OK
F10 Setup mode, I've changed the SATA1 controller from RAID default to IDE and AHCI with same results
F11 Recovery (tries to get into windows and get BSOD)
Tried recovery using recovery DVDs with the same results when it tries to load windows
Tried Windows 7 upgrade disk with same results
Removed all RAM and tried one stick at a time with same results
Installed HD in USB dock and have run chkdsk (no errors), MSE virus scan (no issues)
Ran System File Checker sfc /scannow which resulted in this statement "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" I couldn't find any details in the CBS.log file
Tried clean HD (SSD) to recover to with same results
    Reseated video card (same results)
Removed video card and ran off onboard video with same results
    Reset BIOS to defaults
    Cleared CMOS with jumper
I think I've exhausted about all I can think of and find online. Any ideas on how to flash the BIOS would be appreciated.

  • "Not fully ACPI Compliant" error message in BIOS when installing Vista 64-bit

When I try to install Vista 64 Ultimate I get this message after the initial black and white loading bar screen: "cannot install because the BIOS in this sytem is not fully ACPI compliant"
    Board: 975X Platinum V.2 "20th Anniversary Edition"
Board Bios: 7.8 (tried to install 7.9 but failed (usb flash and msi online)
    CPU: Core 2 Duo E6400
    Memory: 2X2GB A-Data Dual Channel
Tried many solutions from other forums but didn't worked (disabling/enabling >> usb, parallel-game, acpi, apm) also tried with ps2 keyboard only., also with only 1 stick of ram....but nothing worked....
What the heck is going on?
I'm currently running XP SP3 perfectly, but I wanted to upgrade to Vista 64 and buy another 4gb of ram, etc.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

    IT WORKED!!!
After the upgrade to the 7.9  BIOS, everything went smoothly.
    Thanks guys you rock!!!
NOTE: I've read so many posts here from members and mods recommending to NOT flash the BIOS unless is inminent...I guess is good advice, but on the MSI website, the only new feature they mention about the 7.9 update is: "Add USB storage bootable function"....but then again, the update fixed my problem (read first post). So you never know...

  • Satelite L505D BIOS not fully ACPI compliant.

I can get into the boot menu and the setup but the keyboard wont work after that. I have the BIOS fix but can't do anything wiith it without a keyboard.

This is stupid, I am having the same problems with my satellite, I bought my satellite at a PX in Iraq in 2009, the warranty was done by the time I got home. Shortly after I got home this BIOS and keyboard thing started happening. I have another Sattellite I bought in 2003 in Bagdad, Iraq and it needs a freaking BIOS password. I have 2 laptops from Toshiba now that are useless that I need the information off of. In both instances toshiba wants me to pay for both repairs, even though the only time I got to use them was in Iraq. They won't fix them and according to everyone else in these forums they aren't fixing theirs either( they all have the same problems with the BIOS, sounds like toshiba needs a recall). Theres $1200.00 right down the drain.

  • JCOerror: This system does not let you log on using a password

    Hi,
"JCOerror: This system does not let you log on using a password"
This is the error message I get from MII tries to connect to the Production ECC using my credentials to perform a BAPI call.
These credentials work fine interactively (using the SAP GUI) and for BAPI calls from MII on SAP Development instances.
I can interpret this message in two ways:
    - My login can not log on using password (though I can interactively)
    - The server does not allow logging on using password only. (It might require to pre-authorize the connecting server as well).
I guess my question can be if this error requires adding additional rights to my login for the production environment, or if this is a global SAP setup for this system?  Or something else?
In either way, what is required to have this work?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Kindly try the following options.
Try executing the BAPI seperately in se37, using your login credentials.
Check whether RFC is enabled for the BAPI.
Check whether the SAP server is details are furnished correctly in "SAP Server"(available under "Data Services") editor.
We can ensure this by checking the connection status link in xMII.(Link is available under "Data Services").
If connection status is "Running" then SAP server setting configuration is fine. Else it is not configured properly.
Try executing the BAPI in BLS(Business Logic Services) using JCO connector.
I believe if any one of these scenarios fail then "Proxy Error" might thrown.
    Thanks

hi all,  i  am very new to sap basis. i have changed the below profile parameters in RZ10.
    login/min_password_length=3
    login/min_password_lowercase=1
    login/min_password_uppercase=1
    login/min_password_digits=2
    login/min_password_specials=1
after changing values i restarted the Instance. But the problem is when i am trying to login to the system it is showing  an error message : "This system does not let you log on using a password". I know why  this error occurs...
but how to resolve this error? plz Help.
    Thanks in advance

    login/min_password_length=3
    login/min_password_lowercase=1
    login/min_password_uppercase=1
    login/min_password_digits=2
    login/min_password_specials=1
The correct parameter for Min password Lenght is login/min_password_lng.
You can change this at OS level restart and see how it goes...

install graphics driver for windows 8.1 64 bit in my laptop (i3 processor).got error in this system does not have the minimum requirements

Hi: Your notebook is not supported by HP for W8.1. See if the W7 graphics driver from your notebook's support page works. Manually install it if the auto install doesn't work. This package provides the driver that enables the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver. File name: SP52195.exe

  • KM4M-V not XP ACPI Compliant

I have read many threads about getting my new KM4M-V to be ACPI compliant as advertised in the product details page eg:
    VIA® VT8237 Chipset
       - Integrated Direct Sound AC'97 audio.
       - Dual channel Ultra DMA 33/66/100/133 master mode EIDE controller.
    ****   - ACPI & PC2001 compliant enhanced power management.  *****
The problem is I cannot shut down the computer without making it a non ACPI compliant Standard PC and then installing NT Apm/Legacy Interface Node. But when pressing the power button on my case nothing will happenj(it should shut down) and there is no option choices for system standby, or when the power button is pressed.
This is not good enough. The motherboard is advertised as being ACPI compliant but mine is not.
IPCA function is enabled in Bios which is I am told is the same as ACPI but reversed spelling? LOL
Another issue is the current 1.2GHZ Thunderbird CPU does not show in Bios temp (n/a) and in windows based temp programs it shows as
-71c. Thats right below zero -71. Its not overclocked at all and windows with games runs stable. I plan to buy an XP2600+ cpu in 5 days and maybe its just my old cpu is the problem there so I will overlook it for now.
    All I want is the motherboard to work as advertised  being ACPI compliant and have one of the following show in sytem device manager/Computer;
Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC or ACPI Uniprocessor PC.
Is it too much to ask? I have tried to force ACPI compliantcy and XP wont boot without hal.dll being in windows/system32. A renamed Halaacpi.dll or Halacpi.dll of course does not work. I have the current bios installed, tried to clear the cmos and even reinstal XP and pressing F5 to choose PC type manually but only 2 options are available 1: Standard PC with C-Step i486 or 2: Other / Insert manufacturers disk. Is there a manufacturers floppy disk? In the box all I have is the raid one.
Sorry for the long post but I have tried to explain fully so a learnerd mind has all the facts or most thereof.
    Thanks for any help.

Yes the power button holding for 5 seconds does turn it off after the "It is now safe to turn off" Error message as seen in the microsoft link.
Bios is set to defaults trying fail safe and optimized. My first post mentiond I cleared the cmos.
    14a  25a  12a PSU
APCI has NOTHING to do with RAM mate it is a function of only the motherboard. Even the power supply has nothing to do with ACPI.
There has to be something else.
I have another system here with Abit KV8PRO-3rdeye and Athlon 64 3000+ with Gainward 6600GT. It runs a 400w power supply in a cheap case with no problems at all. It shows ACPI Uniprocessor PC in XP system devices and shuts down as it should.
I can only think it is this MSI board having this problem. Why not have ACPI power management listed in the Bios? It has a  IPCA function enabled which is ACPI spelled backwards. why is it that??

  • Have a mac. It says, "Adobe Flash Player is up to date on this system." Not working on sites.

My mac is up to date with Flash Player, but all the sites still say I need to update. I can't get it to work. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I've tried everything and spent hours looking at the adobe troubleshooting pages. I need help and don't have $40 to get help over the phone.

When the Flash plugins crashes, Firefox usually records information about what was happening at that moment. This might be fairly generic, but in some cases it might be helpful. Please check the last section of the support article "[[Firefox Crashes]]" for steps to find the report IDs for those crashes, and then post some of the recent ones here.
This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
    (1) If you have any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable the protected mode feature. That feature has security benefits, but seems to have compatibility issues on some systems. This involves creating or editing a settings file. The following pages/posts provide different approaches for that:
    * Adobe support article under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
    * Manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/968190?page=5#answer-509209
    * Batch file to automate the manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/982093#answer-518078
Flash needs to completely unload from memory (exiting and starting Firefox up again might help) before this takes effect.

  • "The system is not fully installed" message appears after I rebooted my Windows XP.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1011 that I recently rebooted (returned it to factory settings). It has no disk drive, so I cannot put in the Windows XP CD-ROM disc to fix the problem. I DO however have an external mac disk drive. Will this work if I put it into
my Inspiron? Please refrain from linking me to Microsofts page where they "fix the problem", I find it useless.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! I this fixed need ASAP because I am going to sell this soon!
    Thanks!

try booting your S10 with the red backward arrow (one key recovery) key on the top of the keyboard.  this should boot the recovery partition, where you should be given choices of how you want to recover the system.  i've used it, and it took 5 minutes to restore my system to factory configuration.  give this a try and let us know how it goes.  if it doesn't work, call lenovo for warranty repair.  i heard the turnaround time is very quick for warranty repair.

  • System reconciliations - not fully reconciling

    Hi,
In reviewing some accounta for a client, we realized that SBO doesn't seem to be reconciling all transactions and some only partially.
Ex.:  IP cheque payments go to a cheque clearing account. When the deposit is processed, it (supposed to) clears the cheque clearing account and moves it to the bank account. It should be reconciling the clearing account with the bank account but this is not always happening. ('Reconcile amounts after deposit' field is always selected.)
Some transactions are fully reconciled, some only partially reconciled and some not at all. This is causing a headache in trying to determine what is causing this and figuring out how to fix the entries. I've reviewed the transactions and have not yet found a pattern. This is also happening for invoices/credit memo transactions where the CM is based on the invoice - the entries are not offseting/reconciling.
Has anyone else seen this? Any thoughts/feedback would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance,
    Heather

    Hi Heather,
it appears you are using an old version. Since version 2007, the reconciliation engines are unified & support partial reconciliation on Journal Entry level as well.
